녹비작물 재배가 유기포도 수량 및 안토시아닌 함량에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Green Manure Cultivations on Yield and Anthocyanin Content in Organic Grapevine)

  • In sustainable viticulture, green manure represents a safe and non-polluting way to bring large quantities of organic matter into the soil. The cultivation of green manure crops plays an important role in soil quality and sustainability of agricultural system. This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of green manure fertilization on yield and quality of the Campbell Early grape variety in the organic vineyard. Hairy vetch was the more productive green manure crop, yielding higher dry materials. Average yields of grape were significantly greater in hairy vetch+rye ($13.02ton\;ha^{-1}$) than nature weed ($11.65ton\;ha^{-1}$), respectively. The concentrations of total as well as individual anthocyanins were consistently higher with hairy vetch treatment compared with rye and nature weed, thus making the green manure cultivation is an environmentally friendly cultivation to increase the yield and anthocyanin contents in organic grape.

Identification of Acremonium acutatum and Trichothecium roseum isolated from Grape with White Stain Symptom in Korea

  • During 2010 and 2012 grape harvest seasons in Gyeonggi-do, Korea, a white stain symptom was observed on the harvested grape fruits in 'Campbell-Early' and 'Kyoho' varieties. In samples collected from the infected vine, two different strains of pathogenic fungi have been found and identified as Acremonium acutatum and Trichothecium roseum based on fungal morphology and nucleotide sequence of internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and supported by the phylogenetic analysis of the rDNA-ITS region. The DNA homologies of the isolated strains were 99.8% and 99.6% identical with T. roseum (IFB-22133) and A. acutatum (CBS682.71), respectively. In the pathogenicity test, the spores of A. acutatum and T. roseum sprayed on the grapes caused white stain symptoms on the fruits in two weeks after the artificial inoculation, which is similar to observations in the field. To our knowledge, this is the first report of white stain symptoms caused by A. acutatum and T. roseum on the grapes in Korea.

지온이 포도의 생육에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Soil Zone Temperature on Growth of Grapevines(Vitis spp))

  • 지온이 포도의 생육에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 노지용으로 많이 재배되는 캠벨얼리와 시설포도인 블랙올림피아를 공시하여 지온을 1$0^{\circ}C$, 15$^{\circ}C$, 2$0^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$로 조절하여 재배하고 생육조사와 더불어 광합성 속도 및 식물체의 무기성분함량을 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 지온 20~$25^{\circ}C$에서 품종에 관계없이 엽중, 경중, 근중을 비롯한 모든 생육이 좋았다. 광합성 속도와 엽록소 함량은 2$0^{\circ}C$구에서 가장좋았다. 지온이 높아질수록 줄기와 뿌리인 인산, 칼륨, 석회의 함량이 많았다.

The Antioxidant Activity of Various Cultivars of Grape Skin Extract

  • The aim of this study was to analyze the antioxidant properties of different cultivars of grape skin extract in an in vitro system. The extracts were prepared from eight grape cultivars: 'Campbell Early' (CE), 'Kyoho' (K), 'New Kyoho' (NK), 'Muscat of Alexandria' (MOA), 'Seibel' (S), 'Morgen Schow' (MS), 'Gold Finger' (GF), and 'Meru' (M). The total phenolic acid contents were highest in MS and K. Resveratrol content was high in NK (50.88 mg/l g of coat), and quercetin content was significantly higher in K (0.68 mg/l g of coat) than in the other grape species (0.21-0.44 mg/l g of coat). The K and MS grape species, in which total phenol content was comparatively high (K: $24.15\;{\mu}g/mL$, MS: $25.52\;{\mu}g/mL$), also showed a high level of electron donating activity (K, 53%; MS, 59%). The hydrogen radical scavenging activity of M (50.36%) was significantly higher than the other grape species, including the S (50.21%), MS (49.43%), and K (49.06%) cultivars. Antioxidant activity varied depending on grape species, but overall it was highest in the MS and K cultivars.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of whole grape, grape pomace and grape juice intake on cadmium (Cd) metabolism during aging in thirteen-month-old Sprague-Dawley male rats. One hundred and twenty rats weighing 548.8 $\pm$ 4.3 g were assigned to eight groups according to body weight and were raised for 3, 5 or 7 months on diets containing 2 % (w/w) dried powders of three different parts of the grape (Campbell Early) and 0.02 % (w/w) CdC12. Food intake tended to decrease with aging, and body weight and epididymal fat pad (EFP) weights of Cd-exposed groups were lower than those of Cd-free groups. Cadmium accumulated in the blood and tissues and Cd concentration was the lowest in the pomace group among Cd-exposed animals. Metallothionein (MT) concentration in the tissues increased through Cd administration. Grape diets, especially grape pomace diets, were effective in decreasing Cd absorption in the tissues by increasing Cd excretion through feces. The intake of grape pomace alleviated the decrease in bone density caused by Cd administration and prevented a decrease in glomerular filtration rates (GFR) with aging. Among the parts of grape, grape pomace, which had highest content of dietary fiber and flavonoids, was the most effective. The results of this study suggest the possibility of using grape pomace as a functional food material, a prospect that previously has been discarded.

Impact of a reduction in the quality of Shine Muscat on the grape variety market using the Armington model

  • We devised a grape variety model to estimate the impact of lowering the Shine Muscat quality level on the grape market. Shine Muscat has become a popular grape variety in Korea. Accordingly, the area devoted to the harvesting of Shine Muscat has increased dramatically since 2016. Our study examines how a reduction in the quality of Shine Muscat affects other grapes such as Campbell Early, giant peak, and Muscat Bailey A (MBA). The Armington model was used to impose consumer preferences and product differentiation assumptions. We found that a decrease in the consumer preference for Shine Muscat realized by lowering the quality of Shine Muscat largely reduces the price of this variety. Also, the prices of other grape varieties fell via a substitute effect. Moreover, if grape varieties were more differentiated, the reduction in the price of Shine Muscat would be greater, while the decreases in the prices of other grape varieties would be smaller. These results imply that farmers of Shine Muscat must continue with quality management efforts to avoid the negative effect of changing consumer behavior with regard to Shine Muscat against a reduction in its quality. Our model introduces a product differentiation model for the fruit market and helps policymakers and farmers understand the impact of changing market conditions in the fruit market.

포도 '캠벨얼리' 품종의 엽수 조절에 따른 과실 품질변화 (Influence of Leaf Number on Berry Quality of 'Campbell Early' Grape)

  • 포도 '캠벨얼리' 품종의 결과지당 적정 엽수를 구명하기 위해 만개 30일 후에 결과지당 2송이를 착과시키고, 첫 번째 송이는 70~75립, 두 번째 송이는 35~40립으로 조절하고 변색기 이후 과실의 품질변화를 조사하였다. 과실의 당도는 변색기 이후 28일 동안 급격히 증가하였으나, 그 이후에는 일정한 수준을 유지하였다. 결과지당 15엽 처리구는 착색초기부터 빠르게 증가되어 착색 28일 후에 $16.0^{\circ}Bx$ 이상 되었으나, 결과 지당 10엽 처리구는 $12.0^{\circ}Bx$로 증가폭이 적었고, 결과 지당 5엽 및 0엽 처리구는 당도 축적이 거의 없었다. 산도는 모든 처리구에서 28일 동안 감소되었고, 결과 지당 엽수가 많을수록 감소폭도 컸다. 결과지당 15엽 처리구는 변색기 이후 7일 동안 빠르게 감소된 후 수확기까지 꾸준히 감소되어 0.5%로 되었으나, 결과지당 5엽 및 0엽 처리구는 감소세가 완만하여 수확기에도 산 함량이 1.0%로 높았다. 과피색은 결과지당 15엽에서 hunter L과 b값이 변색기 이후 7일 동안 빠르게 감소되었고, 그 이후에는 완만하게 감소되어 수확기에 가장 낮은 값을 나타냈고, hunter a값은 변색기 이후 7일 동안 빠르게 증가되었고, 그 이후에는 약간 감소되었다. 그러나 결과지당 5엽 및 0엽 처리구는 hunter L과 b값이 변색기부터 완만하게 감소되었고, hunter a 값은 착색초기에는 현저히 낮았으나, 수확기까지 꾸준히 증가되었다. 총 안토시아닌은 결과지당 15엽 처리구에서 변색기 7일 후부터 빠르게 증가된 후 변색기 28일 후부터는 일정한 수준을 유지하였고, 다른 처리구는 변색기 이후 큰 차이가 없었다.

  • 1963년부터 1966년 사이에 과원에서 채집된 갓노랑비단벌레 유충과 실내에서 사육한 일부 유충을 가지고 두건을 측정하며 영기를 판정함과 동시에 성장하는 비와 변이를 고찰하였다. (1) 유충의 두건의 변리곡선은 완전히 7개의 계곡으로 나타나는데, 이것은 6회의 탈피를 하여 7영을 지내는 것 같다. (2) 대체로 유충은 6-7영을 경과하는데, 6영으로 용화가 되는 것은 11월부터 목질부 내에 들어가 용화직전으로 월동하며, 형성층 부위에서 월동하였다가 만춘이나 초하에 용화가 되는 것은 7영으로 경과한 것 같다. (3) 두건의 표준편차는 1영과 6영 이외에는 영이 커짐에 따라 커졌으며, 변이계수는 영이 커짐에 따라 줄어지는 경향이었다. 그리고 성장비는 1-2영시는 크고 영이 높아짐에 따라 적어졌다. (4) 곤충의 유충의 두건 성장에 관해서 Dyar식보다 Games and Campbell식이 더욱 적합하였다. (5) 유충 영기의 활동상황으로 보아서 다음과 같이 추정된다. 당년에 부화된 유충은 2-3영으로 월동한 것 같고 이전의 것은 5-6영으로 월동 익년에 우화한 것 같다.

온도와 이산화탄소의 상승처리가 포도 '캠벨얼리'의 수체생육과 과실품질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Elevated Temperature and Carbon Dioxide on Vine Growth and Fruit Quality of 'Campbell Early' Grapevines (Vitis labruscana))

  • 본 실험은 온도와 이산화탄소 농도 상승이 3년생 '캠벨얼리' 포도의 수체 생육 및 과실특성에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위해 수행하였다. 처리구는 대조구(대기온도, $390{\mu}L{\cdot}L^{-1}\;CO_2$), 온도 상승구(대기온도 + $4.0^{\circ}C$, $390{\mu}L{\cdot}L^{-1}\;CO_2$), 이산화탄소상승구(대기온도, $700{\mu}L{\cdot}L^{-1}\;CO_2$), 이산화탄소 + 온도 상승구(대기온도 + $4.0^{\circ}C$, $700{\mu}L{\cdot}L^{-1}\;CO_2$)로 구성되었다. 평균 신초 길이는 이산화탄소 + 온도 상승구가 312.6cm로 처리구 중 가장 높았고, 대조구는 206.2cm, 온도 상승구와 이산화탄소 상승구는 각각 255.6, 224.8cm이었다. 하지만 신초 직경은 온도 상승구와 이산화탄소 + 온도 상승구에서 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 과립 횡경은 이산화탄소 농도가 높을 수록 증가하였고, 당함량은 이산화탄소 상승구가 $14.6^{\circ}Brix$로 처리구 중 가장 높았으며 온도 상승구에서 $13.9^{\circ}Brix$로 가장 낮았다. 수확기를 조사한 결과, 이산화탄소 + 온도 상승구에서는 약 11일 정도 단축되었고, 이산화탄소 상승구와 온도 상승구는 4일과 2일이 단축되었다. 생육기 광합성과 증산량을 조사한 결과, 광합성률은 이산화탄소 상승구와 이산화탄소 + 온도 상승구의 생육초기에 높았으나, 하계에 접어들면서 급격히 감소하여 증산량과 상반되었다.

Screening Biological Activities of Grape Seed and Skin Extracts of Campbell Early (Vitis labruscana B.)

  • This study was conducted to determine biological activities, such as lipid peroxidation inhibition, cytotoxicity, sun blocker, inhibition of tyrosinase, and antioxidative effect, of ethanol extracts, and of solvent fractionated ethanol extracts obtained from grape seeds and skins. The strongest lipid oxidative inhibition of 66.9% and 67.6% was observed respectively, in the presence of 20 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ of both ethanol extract and water fraction of grape seeds. Overall, the ethanol extracts and their fractions of grape seeds exhibited stronger lipid oxidative inhibition than that of skin extracts. On the other hand, the ethanol extracts of grape skins showed stronger cytotoxicity than that of seeds on MCF-7, Hep3B, and A549 cancer cell lines. However, the water fraction of seed ethanol extracts showed the strongest cytotoxic effect of 76.52% and 67.01% on MCF-7 and Hep3B, respectively among their fractions. Ethanol seed extracts obtained at 3$0^{\circ}C$ had the strongest absorbance both at UVA region (350 nm) and UVB region (308 nm) and the chloroform fraction showed the strongest absorbance at W region and butanol fraction at UVA region among their tractions, respectively. In the meantime, the ethanol extracts obtained at 3$0^{\circ}C$ and butanol fraction showed the strongest tyrosinase inhibitory effect of 39.4% and 37.6%, respectively. This study shows that ethanol extracts and their fractions of grape seeds and skins could be potential good materials for functional food and cosmetic products.
