  • Orthodontic treatment of posterior bite collapse due to early loss of molars and the consequent drift of adjacent teeth is complicated. When the posterior bite collapse occurs in patients with facial asymmetry, both transverse and vertical compensation are necessary for camouflage orthodontic treatment. In such cases, posterior maxillary segmental osteotomy (PMSO) can be an effective alternative procedure that simplifies the orthodontic treatment and shows long-term stability through dental compensation within the alveolar bone housing. This case report aimed to describe the orthodontic treatment of maxillary occlusal plane canting caused by severely extruded maxillary teeth in a patient with skeletal facial asymmetry that was corrected with PMSO along with protraction of the lower second molar to replace the space of the extracted first molar. The treatment duration was 18 months, and stable results were obtained after 2 years of retention.

  • There is a variation in the range of normal occlusion, and we must fit our treatment to the needs of each patient. If the upper or lower incisors are congenital)y missing, malformed, or crowded, the extraction of the incisor has some advantages over the extraction of premolars and nonextractions. The advantages are 1)simple mechanics, 2)reduced treatment time, 3)less relapse tendency, and 4)fewer facial profile changes. In order to decide which incisor should be extracted, we must consider certain factors 1)discrepancies in anterior arch length, 2)anterior tooth ratio, 3)periodontal and tooth health condition, and 4)the relationship between the upper and lower midline. Diagnostic set-up can be helpful to plan the treatment and show us the post treatment result.

  • With the rapid growth in Internet users, web applications are becoming the main target of hackers. Most previous WAFs (Web Application Firewalls) target every single HTTP request packet rather than the overall behavior of the attacker, and are known to be difficult to detect new types of attacks. In this paper, we propose a web attack detection system based on user behavior using machine learning to detect attacks of unknown patterns. In order to define user behavior, we focus on features excluding areas where an attacker can camouflage as a normal user. The experimental results shows that by using the path and query information to define users' behaviors, best results for an accuracy of 99% with Decision forest.

  • This study aims to analyze how students' design work functions affect consumer attitudes and purchase intentions toward clothes designed by students, while exploring the moderating effect of price sensitivity in such a relationship. Data was acquired from 351 responses of an online questionnaire (www.sojump.com). A two-step approach was employed to analyze our hypotheses using structural equation modeling (SEM) in SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 statistical packages. First, significant empirical evidence was secured regarding the effects of design functions (assurance, fashion, camouflage, individuality, and comfort) on consumer attitudes toward clothes, which can lead to purchasing intention. Fashion, individuality, and comfort functions can enhance consumer attitude significantly, but assurance and camouflage have no significant influence. Among the functions, comfort has the greatest effect on consumer attitudes, indicating that when students market works as commodities, comfort should be highlighted in their designs. In this way, such products can draw the interest of many consumers. Second, empirical evidence showed that price sensitivity negatively moderates the association between attitude and purchase intention. Thus, design courses should be careful when setting student works' prices given consumer sensitivity. The optimization of the student works' cost structure can help minimize price sensitivity. Overall, the findings and their implications can serve as a basis for the commercial application of design curriculum works and provide feasible support for developing student design curriculum in the future.

  • Adversarial attacks have received great attentions for their capacity to distract state-of-the-art neural networks by modifying objects in physical domain. Patch-based attack especially have got much attention for its optimization effectiveness and feasible adaptation to any objects to attack neural network-based object detectors. However, despite their strong attack performance, generated patches are strongly perceptible for humans, violating the fundamental assumption of adversarial examples. In this paper, we propose a camouflaged adversarial patch optimization method using military camouflage assessment metrics for naturalistic patch attacks. We also investigate camouflaged attack loss functions, applications of various camouflaged patches on army tank images, and validate the proposed approach with extensive experiments attacking Yolov5 detection model. Our methods produce more natural and realistic looking camouflaged patches while achieving competitive performance.

  • Class III malocclusion patients can be approached with many different types of treatment methods, and thus, each patient's problems must be accurately evaluated to allow selection of the best possible treatment method. Cephalometric analysis is an essential part of diagnosis and treatment planning of orthodontic patients, and it would certainly be helpful if reliable cephalometric guidelines could be set. The author divided 482 Class III malocclusion patients(253 males and 229 females) into fourgroups according to different types of treatment methods they have received to correct imbalance between upper and lower jaws: 1) orthopedic appliance (face mask & RPE), 2) camouflage treatment with fixed appliance, 3) surgical-orthodontic treatment, 4) cross-bite correction with removable plates/ functional appliance. Cephalometric values at the time of first clinical examination were compare among the four groups. Cephalometric analysis indicates the following results: 1)the amounts of antero-posterior and vertical skeletal discrepancies and dental compensation were greatest in surgery group 2) SNB, Wits, distance from Nasion Perpendicular Plane to point a facial angle, facial convexity, and APDI were greater in orthopedic appliance group than fixed appliance(camouflage) group, but there was no statistical difference 3) removable plates/ functional appliance group showed least amounts of skeletal discrepancies and dental compensation with statistical significance.

  • Nonextraction camouflage treatment in mild Class III malocclusion is achieved by backward movement of the lower dentition and forward movement of the upper dentition. Many camouflage treatment modalities have been used for distal tipping and distal movement of mandibular posterior teeth. The amount of distal movement of mandibular dentition can be improved in cases of severe crowding, even without the patient's cooperation, by using miniscrews for anchorage. However, miniscrew insertion may be unsuccessful, and it may contact the adjacent root because of the distal movement of dentition. Distal tipping of mandibular dentition can be achieved using multiloop edgewise archwires and intermaxillary elastics. However, the complexity of this wire design causes discomfort to patients. Recently, a new treatment using improved superelastic NiTi wires (ISWs) and intermaxillary elastics has been introduced. ISWs can deliver orthodontic force more effectively, and their use with molar tip-back treatment has several advantages-this approach is effective, simple, and easy to use and reduces patient discomfort. The aim of this study was to report a case of camouflage treatment using ISW with tip-back and intermaxillary elastics for distal tipping of mandibular posterior dentition and to evaluate the effectiveness of this treatment in a clinical setting.

  • To assess the functional structure of prepro-melanin-concentrating hormone (pMCH), we isolated and cloned pMCH (of-pMCH) mRNA from the brain of the olive flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus, and compared its amino acid sequence with those from other animals. In addition, to examine whether activation of the brain of-pMCH gene is influenced by background color, density, and feeding, we compared pMCH mRNA activities against different background colors (bright and dark) and at different densities (100% PCA and 200% PCA). To examine whether the pMCH gene is related with malpigmentation of blind-side skin and appetite, we compared pMCH gene expression between ordinary and hypermelanic flounders, and between feeding and fasting flounders. The of-pMCH cDNA was 405 bp in the open reading frame [ORF] and encoded a protein of 135 amino acids; MCH was 51 bp in length and encoded a protein of 17 amino acids. An obvious single band of the expected size was obtained from the brain and pituitary by RT-PCR. In addition, of-pMCH gene activity was significantly higher in the bright background only at low density (< 100% PCA) making the ocular skin of fish whitening, and in ordinary fish. However, the gene activity was significantly decreased in dark background, at high density (>200% PCA), and in hypermelano fish. These results suggest that skin whitening camouflage of the flounder is induced by high MCH gene activity, and the density disturbs the function of background color in the physiological color change. Moreover, our data suggest that a low level of MCH gene activity may be related to malpigmentation of the blind-side skin. In feeding, although pMCH gene activity was significantly increased by feeding in the white background, the pMCH gene activity in the dark background was not influenced by feeding, indicating that the MCH gene activity increased by feeding can be offset by dark background color, or is unaffected by appetite. In conclusion, this study showed that MCH gene expression is related to ocular-skin whitening camouflage and blind-skin hypermelanosis, and is influenced by background color and density.

  • An experiment on the automatic population measurement of brown Mealy Bugs is first reported in this article. Several image processing techniques are employed along with mapping function and neural network. Though brown Mealy Bugs are difficult to detect because of their camouflage, the experimental results showed that approximately 74% of them were correctly detected.
