  • Those studies in the field of Management Information Systems and the Success Model of the DeLone and McLean's Information Systems suggest that some factors related to information systems should be developed and operated to affect the performance of the user's personal and companies through the introduction and use of corporate information systems. The purpose of this study is put on searching for some factors which impact on user satisfaction about the customer information management systems of call center. We did conduct on a survey of 539 people who are working as a call center counseling employees as setting up a structural equation model which reflects previous research on working environment and job satisfaction, and modified DeLone and McLean's information system success model. The results of this study are as follows. First, seven of the eleven hypotheses that three quality of the information systems might be affecting working environment, job satisfaction, user satisfaction were adopted Second, we confirmed that the working environment works as a the partial mediation and the quality of services works as a fully mediation between system/information quality and users' satisfaction. The implications of this study are that it is necessary not only to make a good working environment but also to keep improving it in order to boost the operational performance of information systems in the future.

  • In this paper, an efficient call control procedure is presented for next generation wireless ATM networks and its performance is mathematically analyzed using the open queueing network. This procedure is based on a new scheme called as the cell clustering. When we use the cell clustering scheme, at the time that a mobile connection is admitted to the network, a virtual cell is constructed by choosing a group of neighboring base stations to which the call may probabilistically hand over and by assigning to the call a collection of virtual paths between the base stations. Within a microcell/picocell environment, it is seen that the cell clustering can support effectively a very high rate of handovers, provides very high system capacity, and guarantees a high degree of frequency reuse over the same geographical region without requiring the intervention of the network call control processor each time a handover occurs. But since mobiles, once admitted, are free to roam within the virtual cell, overload condition occurs in which the number of calls to be handled by one base station to exceed that cell site's capacity of radio channel. When an overload condition happens, the quality of service is abruptly degraded. We refer to this as the overload state and in order to quantify the degree of degradation we define two metrics, the probability of overload and the normalized average time spent in the overload state. By using the open network queueing model, we derive closed form expressions for the maximum number of calls that can be admitted into the virtual cell such that the two defined metrics are used as the acceptance criteria for call admission control.

  • Software measurement is a key factor in managing, controlling, and improving the software development processes. Software quality is one of the most important factors for assessing the global competitive position of any software company. Thus the quantification of quality parameters and integrating them into quality models is very essential. Software quality criteria are not very easily measured and quantified. Many attempts have been made to exactly quantify the software quality parameters using various models such as ISO/IEC 9126 Quality Model, Boehm's Model, McCall's model, etc. In this paper an attempt has been made to provide a tool for precisely quantifying software quality factors with the help of quality factors stated in ISO/IEC 9126 model. Due to the unpredictable nature of the software quality attributes, the fuzzy multi criteria approach has been used to evolve the quality of the software.

  • In this paper, we studied channel assignment and handover schemes for the indoor microcell systems. For efficient frequency spectrum reuse we proposed the high quality reassignment (HQR) scheme. Proposed HQR scheme tries to keep the reuse distances small by monitoring C/I of channels being used. To assign a channel for a new or handove call, the scheme checks C/I of all available channels. Then HQR assigns the channel that has C/I near the threshold value, A_TH. The scheme also checks C/I of ongoing calls and continuously reassigns a new channel when needed. It attempts handover not only when C/I gets below a handover threshold value, HO_TH, but also when C/I becomes above a high quality reassignment threshold, H_TH. The performance of the proposed HQR scheme was analyzed by a computer simulation configuraed. The performance of the scheme was also analyzed for various threshold values selected and the results are presented in this paper. The results show that HQR scheme perfomrs better than the scheme adopted for DECT.

  • Most organizations adopt a process-based approach to manage their operations and now business process management(BPM) is a well-established concept. Because ISO 9001:2000 has been influenced by BPR and it also emphasizes process based. BPM can get together with ISO 9001:2000. Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information has taken ISO 9001:2000 certificate in November 11, 2003 and now implements quality management systems based on BPMS. We call it KQMS(KISTI Quality Management System). KQMS based on BPMS is a new example in field of ISO quality management and is expected to support process management well.

This paper discuss optimal process design of investment projects expansion and replacement investment on each line or individual in the production. Generally optimal plant design has add to a few method by Subsidiary means with use a especial method. And then in this paper, a Robust design is presented, which may be effective to the processes appraisal or improvement. We propose that should make a optimal plant design model for reducing field failure rate to assign by real data on different factors in plant system. Using this model, robust design of taguchi method used in this comprehensive method for reducing field failure rate in plant system.

  • This study aimed to ascertain whether electronic courses at the deanship of electronic learning and distance education at Umm Al-Qura University meet the quality standards developed by the Quality Matters (QM) organization. This endeavor adopted a mixed method of an explanatory sequential research design for an in-depth understanding of the topic under scrutiny. The sample of the study consisted of ten courses designed at the deanship and reviewed using an evaluation form. The results showed that the courses in focus did not meet the criteria of QM. Based on this finding, a semi-structured interview was designed to collect relevant data from the syllabus designers at the deanship. The interviews yielded information on the difficulties the course designers faced when designing QM-criteria-based courses. The results obtained from the interviews showed that the designers experienced administrative, technical, and faculty-member-related challenges that, when producing online courses, intercepted their way to achieving the QM standards. The study closed with some recommendations, the most important of which is a call for re-developing online courses in alignment with the well-recognized QM standards.

  • Challenges brought by applications of advanced technologies in education call for new approaches that can best ensure the provision of quality e-learning experiences. This paper presents an ecological approach as one of such approaches to quality assurance in e-learning that can monitor, assess and improve the effectiveness and the links between the various elements of e-learning. The ecological model for QA in e-learning emphasizes interrelation transactions between elements (e.g. providers, learners, cultures and policies) and systemic integration of those elements, and stresses that all these elements within a QA system play an equal role in maintaining balance of the whole. The model focuses attention both on individual and societal/cultural environmental factors as cornerstones for QA efforts in e-learning. It addresses the importance of QA efforts directed at changing QA transactions from provider-centered to 'all stakeholder-oriented', from one-size-fits-all model to 'globally oriented, locally adaptive model' and from control framework to 'culture creation framework'.

  • When special voice control application services (VCS) such as voice-controlled web browsing or voice-controlled stock transactions are introduced in cellular systems, a channel quality better than that for ordinary voice communications service (OVS) is necessary in order to keep a suitable grade of VCS. To avoid ai. congestion, calls are normally admitted if there exists a channel-processing resource not occupied by other calls in the base as well as the interference level at the receiver is not higher than a predefined threshold. The threshold is usually 10㏈ noise-rise over the background noise level for voice communications service. When the base admits VCS attempts in exactly the same manner as it handles OVS calls. the same fraction of those will be not successful in taking the channel and then blocked. If the same noise-rise threshold is used as 10 ㏈, however, the admitted VCS calls might suffer from bad channel qualify and finally be dropped. From the user's point of view, the forced termination of ongoing calls is significantly undesirable than blocking new call attempts. When using a lower noise-rise threshold for VCS. on the other hand, the blocking probability of VCS gets higher than that of OVS. In this paper, a call admission policy that gives a priority to VCS is considered in order to reduce the blocking probability and keep an adequate channel quality.
