This study develops a fusion priority signal control algorithm to pass without delay in emergency events. Fusion priority signal control is method combined center control with local control. The center control method applies signal times for each signalized intersection on the emergency vehicle's route when an emergency call is received. As signals are controlled before the emergency vehicle leaves for its destination, it is possible to clear the queues at each intersection more effectively. However, since the traffic information (speed, position) of the real-time emergency vehicle is not used, the intersection arrival time predicted by center control and actual arrival time of the emergency vehicle may be different from each other. In the case, it is possible to experience a delay caused by the signal. Local control method operate priority signal use the real-time information of EV, but there is a limitation that queue elimination time can not be reflected. In this study, fusion(center+local) control algorithm is proposed to compensate the disadvantages of center and local control also maximizing its advantages. Proposed algorithm is expected to decrease delay time of EV in emergency situation.
This study aims to verify for humans the suitability of the enzyme-fixed hydrogel used for the patch sensor of the blood sugar testing system without blood sampling, which utilizes reverse iontophoresis. Using acrylate monomers, hydrogel was synthesized to which a certain unit of enzyme is fixed. In order to analyze the material property of the synthesized hydrogel, a structural analysis was performed using FT-IR spectroscopy, while the DSC was used to verify the thermal stability. In addition, with the UV-Vis spectrophotometer, it was verified that the degree of active enzyme is at least 50% greater than the standard product. The SEM was used to verify secure fixation of the enzyme onto the surface. As a result, it was observed that the enzyme is successfully fixed to the surface. Since the hydrogel makes direct contact with a patient's skin, it is essential to evaluate the toxicity when making direct contact with the skin. For that purpose, various sets of tests were undertaken according to the ISO 10993-cytotoxicity, intracutaneous reactivity, skin irritation test and maximization sensitization. Consequently, it was successfully verified that the enzyme-fixed hydrogel have bioavailability.
Background: This study aims to explore the effects of quality of care, image, and role performance perceived by community residents on medical service satisfaction to public hospitals. Methods: The subjects of this study were selected in the community residents around 39 district public hospitals. The questionnaire were included 4 factors and 16 items. The data were collected utilizing call-interview by a survey company. Results: The community satisfaction was positively correlated with quality of care, image, and role performance of public hospitals (p<0.001). As the results of multiple logistic regression, the significant variables of community satisfaction were quality of care (odds ratio [OR], 1.353; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.211 to 1.511), image (OR, 1.487; 95% CI, 1.280 to 1.727), role performance (OR, 1.240; 95% CI, 1.085 to 1.416) among subjects having use experience of public hospitals. The significant variables of community satisfaction were quality of care (OR, 1.240; 95% CI, 1.175 to 1.309), image (OR, 1.328; 95% CI, 1.232 to 1.432), age (OR, 3.051; 95% CI, 1.385 to 6.724), monthly incomes (OR, 0.420; 95% CI, 0.198 to 0.892) among subjects not-having use experience of public hospitals. Conclusion: Public hospitals have to effort to improve image and satisfaction of community through providing quality of care, and role performance. It is possible to support them by the central and local government.
The present study was conducted to investigate the translocation of polyphenols, especially catechin derivatives, from mushroom medium mixed with green tea residues into fruiting body of Pleurotus eryngii. Pleurotus eryngii was grown on the media incorporated by mixing or surface-treated with dry materials including leaf petioles and young stems or leaves of green tea. The dry materials treated in medium did not affect plant height and fresh weight of Pleurotus eryngii body. From the samples of Pleurotus eryngii, the eight main catechin derivatives (-)-gallocatechin(GC), (+)-catechin (C), (-)-epicatechin (EC), (-)-epigallocatechin (EGC), (-)-epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), (-)-gallocatechin gallate (GCG), (-)-epicatechin gallate (ECG), and (-)-catechin gallate (EGCG), and caffeine were analyzed quantitatively by HPLC. The results showed that EGC in Pleurotus eryngii was 45% more detected, when incorporated with the dry materials, than untreated control. Especially, content of EGCG was increased in surface-treated Pleurotus eryngii up to 3.2 ppm, while it was not detected or reduced in control and other treatments. Caffeine content was greatly increased regardless of treatment method, compared with control (0.1ppm), showing 44 fold-amount in Pleurotus eryngii at early growth stage when incorporated with the dry materials into medium. The results indicates that functional catechin derivatives of green tea would be partly translocated into Pleurotus eryngii throught incorporation and surface treatment with residues of green tea plants.

Purpose: Recent studies have established the association between hypotonic fluids administration and hospital-acquired hyponatremia in children, and have contended that hypotonic fluids be removed from routine practice. To assess current intravenous fluid prescription practices among Korean pediatric residents and to call for updated clinical practice education Methods: A survey-based analysis was carried out. Pediatric residents at six university hospitals in Korea completed a survey consisting of four questions. Each question supposed a unique scenario in which the respondents were to prescribe either a hypotonic or an isotonic fluid for the patient. Results: Ninety-one responses were collected and analyzed. In three of the four scenarios, a significant majority prescribed the hypotonic fluids (98.9%, 85.7%, and 69.2%, respectively). Notably, 69.2% of the respondents selected the hypotonic fluids for postoperative management. Almost all (96.7%) selected the isotonic fluids for hydration therapy. Conclusion: In the given scenarios, the majority of Korean pediatric residents would prescribe a hypotonic fluid, except for initial hydration. The current state of pediatric fluid management, notably, heightens the risk of hospital-acquired hyponatremia. Updated clinical practice education on intravenous fluid prescription, therefore, is urgently required.

In this study we have designed and fabricated an inexpensive micro electronic system that we call Alvitek. It can indirectly but accurately predict and display the partial pressures of alveolar oxygen and carbon dioxide for the patients in the ICU of a hospital. Alvitek consists of both hardware part and software part. Performance of the system is tested by animal experiment with pigs for various $F_{t}e_{2}$ and RR(Respiratory Rate) values under the mechanical ventilation. The predicted alveolar gas partial pressures are cprpared with the approximate alveolar oxygen partial pressures easily calculated by the physician’s bedside formula. As a result, we have concluded that the relative error of A-$aDe_2$ calculated by the bedside formula grows seriously for lower $F_{t}e_{2}$ values. The present prediction method of Alvitek is henceforth believed very meaningful to the physicians. The system hardware and software are described in the text.
Background: In the absence of a vaccine or treatment, the most pragmatic strategies against an infectious disease pandemic are extensive early detection testing and social distancing. This study aimed to summarize public and workplace responses to Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) and show how the Korean system has operated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: Daily briefings from the Korean Center for Disease Control and the Central Disaster Management Headquarters were assembled from January 20 to May 15, 2020. Results: By May 15, 2020, 11,018 COVID-19 cases were identified, of which 15.7% occurred in workplaces such as health-care facilities, call centers, sports clubs, coin karaoke, and nightlife destinations. When the first confirmed case was diagnosed, the Korean Center for Disease Control and Central Disaster Management Headquarters responded quickly, emphasizing early detection with numerous tests and a social distancing policy. This slowed the spread of infection without intensive containment, shut down, or mitigation interventions. After entering the public health blue alert level, a business continuity plan was distributed. After entering the orange level, the Ministry of Employment and Labor developed workplace guidelines for COVID-19 consisting of social distancing, flexible working schedules, early identification of workers with suspected infections, and disinfection of workplaces. Owing to the intensive workplace social distancing policy, workplaces remained safe with only small sporadic group infections. Conclusion: The workplace social distancing policy with timely implementation of specific guidelines was a key to preventing a large outbreak of COVID-19 in Korean workplaces. However, sporadic incidents of COVID-19 are still ongoing, and risk assessment in vulnerable workplaces should be continued.

A previous location area scheme was proposed for cellular network, in which the size of location area of a user is dynamically determined by is current mobility and call arrival rate as the burden of system reaches the minimum. This scheme, however, doesn't consider other individual's movement pattern respectively because of allocating location area with a system's fixed pattern. When mobile subscribers move fast, this scheme allocates especially so large location area to reduce the number of location registration that it makes much paging cost. In this paper, we suggest new dynamic location area management which allocates location area according to each subscriber's mobility regarding its current location as center point. This new scheme allocates fast subscriber larger location area, which resulted in reducing the number of location registration. And small area paging reduces paging cost.

Electromagnetic waves which are emitted from the Sun due to solar flare explosion can cause failures in HF radio communications in the day-side area of the Earth, that is so-call as Radio Blackouts. The international scale representing the severity of the Radio Blackouts is determined by the solar X-ray flux which is measured by United States Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite. However, the scale is not always applicable to HF communication users in the different area on the Earth, because the HF communication effects depend not only on the X-ray strength but also on the subsolar point location. To solve this problem, we developed a HF radio spectrum monitoring system utilizing a spectrum analyzer. This system conducts a real-time measure of the HF spectrum, and automatically calculates signal to noise ratios and the occurrences of the HF blackouts as comparing with the interference level which is described from the ITU recommendation.
In this paper, a new measuring system is :proposed which can measure the fine 6-DOF displacement of rigid bodies. Its measurement principle is based on detection of laser beam reflected from a specially fabricated mirror that looks like a triangular pyramid having an equilateral cross-sectional shape. The mirror has three lateral reflective surfaces inclined 45$^{\circ}$ to its bottom surface. We call this mirror 3-facet mirror. The 3-facet mirror is mounted on the object whose 6-DOF displacement is to be measured. The measurement is operated by a laser-based optical system composed of a 3-facet mirror, a laser source, three position-sensitive detectors(PSD). In the sensor system, three PSDs are located at three corner points of a triangular formation, which is an equilateral triangular formation tying parallel to the reference plane. The sensitive areas of three PSDs are oriented toward the center point of the triangular formation. The object whose 6-DOF displacement is to be measured is situated at the center with the 3-facet mirror on its top surface. A laser beam is emitted from the laser source located at the upright position and vertically incident on the top of the 3-fatcet mirror. Since each reflective facet faces toward each PSD, the laser beam is reflected at the 3-facet mirror and splits into three sub-beams, each of which is reflected from the three facets and finally arrives at three PSDs, respectively. Since each PSD is a 2-dimensional sensor, we can acquire the information on the 6-DOF displacement of the 3-facet mirror. From this principle, we can get 6-DOF displacement of any object simply by mounting the 3-facet mirror on the object. In this paper, we model the relationship between the 6-DOF displacement of the object and the outputs of three PSDs. And, a series of simulations are performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The simulation results show that the proposed sensing system can be an effective means of obtaining 3-dimensional position and orientation of arbitrary objects.
