45Ca 표지 칼슘 화합물별 토마토와 감귤의 엽면 흡수율 (Foliar Absorption Rates of 45Ca-labeled Calcium Compounds Applied on Tomato and Citrus Leaves)

  • The foliar injuries and absorption rates of calcium compounds in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum cv. momotaro) and citrus [Shiranuhi(C. Marc. ${\time}C$. sinensis Osbeck)${\time}C$. reticulata Blanco)] were investigated. 0.3, 0.5 and 1.0% of $CaCl_2$, $Ca(NO_3)_2$, $Ca(H_2PO_4)_2$, Ca-EDTA, Ca formate or Ca acetate solution were applied to the leaves of tomato and citrus. The leaf burns were observed only in the foliar applications of Ca-EDTA and $Ca(H_2PO_4)_2$. Ca-EDTA exhibited more serious foliar injury than CaH2PO4. As applied with $^{45}CaCl_2$, $^{45}Ca(NO_3)_2$, $^{45}Ca$ formate or $^{45}Ca$ acetate, the rates of Ca absorptions by tomato and citrus leaves for 7 days were 17 to 32% and 6.6 to 46%, respectively. It meant that the absorption was differently influenced on calcium compounds. In tomato, the order of Ca foliar absorption was $Ca(NO_3)_2$ > Ca formate = $CaCl_2$ > Ca acetate. Although there was no difference in Ca absorption between the adaxial and abaxial parts of tomato leaves, total absorption was greater in expanded leaves than in expanding ones. On the other hand, in citrus Ca foliar absorption from $Ca(NO_3)_2$ or Ca formate was more active than that from $CaCl_2$ or Ca acetate. In conclusion, $Ca(NO_3)_2$ and Ca formate are recommended for the foliar application of Ca in tomato and citrus in order to increase absorption of Ca into their leaves.

  • 본 연구는 굴 껍데기로 제조한 개미산 칼슘화합물에 몇 가지 활성제를 첨가한 용액 수관살포가 사과 '후지' 과실의 칼슘농도, 과점의 발육 및 품질에 미치는 영향을 구명코자 실시하였다. 굴 껍데기로부터 추출한 칼슘 화합물(Os-CaF, $52.4mg{\cdot}kg^{-1}$)을 수관살포하였을 때 조직으로의 칼슘전이 효과는 무처리에 비하여 잎, 과피 및 과육에서 현저한 증가를 보였다. 그리고 Os-CaF에 활성제를 첨가하여 살포하였을 때 '후지' 과실의 칼슘함량은 증가되었다. 특히, 잎에서는 ascorbic acid, polyvinyl alcohol을, 과피에서는 Ag-colloidal, polyvinyl alcohol을, 과육에서는 ascorbic acid, Ag-colloidal, polyvinyl alcohol을 첨가한 칼슘화합물이 칼슘 흡수량을 현저히 증가시켰다. 칼슘화합물의 농도 및 활성제 종류에 따른 과실품질(과중, 경도, 가용성고형물, 산 함량, 과피색)은 차이가 없었다.

Methyl formate의 랫드를 이용한 급성 및 아만성 흡입독성 평가 (Acute and Subchronic Inhalation Toxicity Evaluation of Methyl Formate in Rats)

  • We performed the tests of acute and subchronic inhalation toxicity of methyl formate, which has limited toxicological data in spite of its widespread use and enhanced hazard consequent on its high volatility. The median lethal concentration ($LC_{50}$) was evaluated to be above 5,000ppm(12.27 mg/L). In the test with subchronic inhalation, there are no deaths, but with reduction of body weight, food intake, organ weight by exposure to 400 (0.98 mg/L) and 1,600 (3.92 mg/L) ppm, dose-dependently. There were statistical differences in some hematological and blood biochemical parameters as compared to control (e.g. neutrophile and lymphocyte in the 1,600 ppm group, calcium and A/G in 1,600 ppm group). Methyl formate under the exposure of 1,600 ppm showed the respiratory findings with nasal, it was confirmed that the chemical has respiratory hazard with 1,600 ppm inhalation exposure, induces nasal epithelial atrophy, olfactory cell degeneration/regeneration and the contraction of olfactory cells, etc. According to the notification with Ministry of Labor (No. 2009-68) for classification, labeling and MSDS of chemicals, it is suggested for methyl formate to be classified as category 4 in acute (10.0$4\leq20.0$ mg/L), category 2 (0.2$\leq$1.0 mg/L/6h, 90 days) in specific target organ-repeated exposure.

Injectable Apatite for the Sequestration of Sr-90 in Groundwater

  • Laboratory column experiments were conducted to evaluate the feasibility of injectable apatite method for the sequestration of Sr-90 in groundwater. The columns were tested to evaluate the rate of citrate biodegradation, the amounts of apatite formed, and the treatability of strontium by the sediment and apatite. The results showed the decreases in citrate, calcium, and phosphate concentrations and the increases in alkalinity and citrate degradation products (acetate and formate) in the columns, suggesting that the citrate degradation and formation of calcium phosphate are occurring. Although the calcium and phosphate were not completely consumed within the columns, some amounts of apatite were formed and it showed an ability to treat strontium in groundwater. This study provides a fundamental understanding of reaction mechanisms for the injectable apatite sequestration method for Sr-90 removal.

담수산 이매패류 패각내 유기각질 단백질 특성 (Characterization of the Organic Matrix Protein in the Freshwater Pelecypod Shells)

  • The electrophoretic and innunological cnalyses of organic matrices in the shells of freshwater bivalves were made in order to dlucidate the biochemical characteristics and species-specific differinces of the applied shells, The water-soluble and insoluble matrices of four species of freshwater bivalves, Andodonta fukudai, Unio douglasiae, Lanceolaria and Chrbicula fluminea, were used as analytical materials, There was non-identity in immuno affinity between anti soluble matrix(anti-Sm) and anti insoluble matrix(anti-ISM)sera against the organic matrix of Andodnta fukudai. The SMs of four species (S. fukudai, U.douglasiae, L. acrorhyncha, and C. fluminea) showed the differences in the precipitate arcs at the level of family, though ISMs did mot show differences. In the electrophoretic analysis, all foru species had two SDS-electrophoretic bands of SM, of which molecular wights appeared to be lower than 55,000, shereas the native organic matrices of foru speceis had higher molecular weighrs than those from SDS-dldctrophoresis. Only calcium ion among many ions in extrapallial fluid(EPF) caused SM to change into insoluble molecules, thus the EPF pretreated with Ca++did not form the precipitate arc when did the immuno diffusion whth anti SM serum. ISM precursor may be polymerized into macromolecules like periostracin, a precusor of periostracum, judging from the similat polymerization patterns in 0.1M Tris formate buffer(pH 3); they may be made insoluble macromolecules due to their strong natrue of hydrophobicity.

면역기능 조절제(MOS, Lectin)와 유기산제(Organic acid F, Organic acid G)가 산란계의 생산성, 혈액성상과 소장내 미생물 균총 및 면역체계에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Supplementary Immune Modulators(MOS, Lectin) and Organic Acid Mixture(Organic acid F, Organic acid G) on the Performance, Profile of Leukocytes and Erythrocytes, Small Intestinal Microflora and Immune Response in Laying Hens)

  • 본 시험은 대조구, 항생제 처리구:Avilla- mycin?? 6ppm, MOS 처리구:MOS 250ppm, lectin 처리구:Mannosespepecific lectin 12.5ppm, Organic acid F 처리구:FORMI??(formic acid 35.4%, formate 34.6%, potassium 30.0%) 0.3%, Organic acid G처리구: GALLACID?? 0.06% 등 6처리구를 두고 이들 처리가 산란계에 미치는 영향을 비교 평가하기 위하여 생산성, 혈액성상, 혈청 IgG, 장내 미생물 균총을 조사하였다. 사양시험은 48주령의 산란계(Hy-Line Brown??) 900수를 선별하여 6처리, 5반복, 반복당 15케이지, 케이지당 2수씩 A형 2단 케이지에 수용하고 randomized block design으로 배치하였다. 6주 동안의 산란율(hen-day, hen- house egg production)에서는 MOS 처리구가 가장 높은 산란율을 보였고 모든 첨가구가 대조구보다 산란율이 높았다(P<0.05). 난중은 lectin 처리구가 가장 높았으며 모든 첨가구들이 대조구보다 높은 경향이 있었다. 연파란율은 lectin 처리구를 제외한 모든 첨가구들이 대조구보다 낮았다(P<0.05). 난황색은 Organic acid G 처리구를 제외한 모든 첨가구들이 대조구보다 높았다(P<0.05). Haugh unit는 lectin 처리구가 가장 높았으며 모든 첨가구들이 대조구보다 높았다. Leukocytes 중 SI는 lectin 처리구가 가장 높았다(P<0.05). Erythrocytes 중 RBC, HB, MCHC는 lectin 처리구가 가장 높았으며 MOS 처리구가 가장 낮았다(P<0.05). 장내 미생물에서는 처리구간에 유의적인 차이는 없었으나 Lactobacilli 수는 대조구보다 첨가구들이 높은 경향이 있었고 Cl. perfringens 수는 Organic acid F를 제외한 모든 첨가구들이 대조구보다 낮은 경향이 있었다. 혈청 IgG 농도는 MOS 처리구가 가장 높았으며 모든 첨가구들이 대조구보다 유의적으로 높았다(P<0.05). 결론적으로 본 시험에서 사용된 면역조절제(MOS, Lectin)와 유기산제는 산란계에서 항생제(Avilamycin??)와 유사한 생산성을 나타내어 항생제 대체제로서 산란계의 생산성을 효과적으로 개선 할 수 있으며 특히 이중에서 MOS의 생산성 개선효과가 가장 높았다.

개미산과 유산균제 첨가 베일 사일리지의 발효 차이가 반추위 발효 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Ensilage of Rye Treated with Formic Acid and Lactic Acid Bacteria Inoculant on Ruminal Fermentation Characteristics)

  • 본 실험은 개미산 첨가 방법으로 제조한 제한발효 사일리지의 효용성을 증명하기 위하여 반추위 발효 특성 변화에 미치는 영향을 유산발효 사일리지와 비교하였다. 호밀 재배 포장에서 4종의 베일사일리지(무첨가, 유산균제 첨가, 개미산 첨가, 개미산칼슘염 첨가)을 제조하였고, 18주 후에 각각 4개의 베일을 선택하여 발효품질을 조사하였다. 재료초의 건물 함량이 50% 정도로 비교적 높았던 무첨가 사일리지와 유산균제 첨가 사일리지는 예건 사일리지와 유사한 발효특성을 보였다. 그러나 개미산과 개미산칼슘염 첨가 사일리지는 무처리 사일리지 보다 낙산 함량이 4배 정도 높았고(P<0.05), 총 질소중 NH3-N의 평균 농도도 무첨가 보다 2배 높은 (P<0.05) 낙산발효 특징을 보여주었다. 반추위 발효 특성 조사는 반추위 캐뉼라가 장착된 4두의 홀스타인 암소(평균체중 563kg)를 공시하여 4×4 Latin square design으로 실험을 수행하였다. 사료섭취 후 1, 2, 3 시간에서 유산균제 첨가 사일리지가 개미산 첨가 사일리지보다 반추위 propionic acid 비율(%총 VFA)이 높은 경향(P=0.1)을 보였고, 개미산 첨가 사일리지와 개미산칼슘염 첨가 사일리지를 섭취한 공시축의 반추위 낙산 비율은 사료섭취 후 1, 2, 3, 5시간 모두에서 무처리와 유산균제 첨가 사일리지 보다 유의성 있게 높았다(P<005). 이상에서 보여주고 있는 반추위 발효 양상의 차이를 볼 때, 유산균제 첨가 사일리지와 함께 제한발효 사일리지 도입은 사일리지 이용효율을 높이기 위한 하나의 방안이 될 것이다.

Effect of Wood Vinegar on the Performance, Nutrient Digestibility and Intestinal Microflora in Weanling Pigs

  • Two experiments were conducted to investigate the feeding value of wood vinegar in weanling pigs. In Experiment 1, weanling pigs (n = 224; Landrace ${\times}$Yorkshire ${\times}$Duroc, 21${\pm}$3 d-old, initial BW 6.12${\pm}$0.10 kg) were assigned to four dietary treatments. Different levels of wood vinegar were added to the diets as dietary treatments (0, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3%). Each treatment comprised 4 replicates with 14 piglets in each. Experimental feeding was conducted for 28 d in two phases (phase I, d 0 to 14 and phase II, d 15 to 28). Feeding of wood vinegar linearly (p<0.05) improved the phase I, phase II and overall ADG and increased (linear, p<0.05) the overall and phase II ADFI. Linear improvements in the apparent fecal digestibility of dry matter (p = 0.013), gross energy (p = 0.019) and crude protein (p = 0.033) were observed as the level of wood vinegar was increased in the diet of pigs. Experiment 2 was conducted to compare dietary wood vinegar with commonly used growth promoters, organic acid (mixture of 21% phosphoric acid, 3.25% propionic acid, 2.8% formic acid, 10% calcium formate and 5% calcium propionate) and antibiotic (aparamycin). A total of 288 weanling piglets (Landrace ${\times}$Yorkshire ${\times}$Duroc, 22${\pm}$2 d-old, initial BW 6.62${\pm}$0.31 kg) were assigned to four treatments with four replicates (18 piglets/pen) for 28 days and fed in 2 phases: phase I, d 0 to 14 and phase II, d 15 to 28. The dietary treatments were control (corn-soybean meal basal diet without antibiotics) and diets containing 0.2% antibiotic, 0.2% organic acid and 0.2% wood vinegar. Pigs fed antibiotic showed higher (p<0.001) ADG and better feed efficiency followed by pigs fed wood vinegar and organic acid diets while those fed the control diet had lowest ADG and poorest feed efficiency. The overall and phase I ADFI was highest (p<0.001) in pigs fed wood vinegar and lowest in pigs fed the control diet. Apparent fecal digestibility of dry matter, gross energy and crude protein was significantly higher (p<0.05) in pigs fed the antibiotic diet when compared with pigs fed the control but comparable among pigs fed antibiotic, organic acid and wood vinegar diets. Higher populations of Lactobacillus (p = 0.004) were noted in the ileum of pigs fed the wood vinegar diet, while the population of coliforms in the ileum and cecum was higher (p<0.001) in pigs fed the control diet when compared with pigs fed antibiotic, organic acid or wood vinegar diets. These results indicated that wood vinegar could improve the performance of weanling pigs by improving the nutrient digestibility and reducing harmful intestinal coliforms; moreover performance of pigs fed wood vinegar was superior to those fed organic acid.
