  • The cutting process of cage motor rotor require high precision and good roughness, the surface roughness fo cutting face is very important factor with effect on the magnetic flux density of cage motor rotor. The paper describes a cause of decrease in the cutting force and roughness on low temperature cooling tool by means of analysis on the mechanism of force system at cutting condition and experimental findings. The main results as compared with the room temperature cutting are as follow : 1) The cutting resistance decreased due to low temperature cooling tool. 2) The surface roughness decreased due to low temperature cooling tool. 3) The low temperature cooling tool effected machinability of the cutting direction in machined surface. 4) The low temperature cooling decreased burr of corner in feed direction.

  • This paper presents a developed squired cage induction motor for axial flow fan. The developed squirrel cage induction noter for axial flow fan is exchanged the position, rotor and stater. In this method a fan blade is attached to outside rotor. So we can protect the motor from rain and reduce noise, and there is no need to have bending duct to locate the fan motor. Carried out experimental test with this induction motor, and the results were as follows. Starting torque was 21kgㆍcm@120V, maximum efficiency was 0.84@120V. The characteristics of tests were the same as double squirrel-cage type IM.

  • Many techniques have been developed to evaluate the structural integrity for the traction motor with squirrel cage. However, the former approaches are not appropriate to our problems and there is no reliable specification for evaluation of squirrel cage motor. In this study, an improved boundary condition and the criteria for evaluation are proposed. Using 3-dimensional solid element, finite element model is generated. The number of meshes can be reduced by considering the symmetry of geometry. Stress analyses are carried out for three types of traction motors.

  • The paper is that study method to reduce bad influence that act to the floating fish cage by effect of environment in sea. Fish cage is controlled buoyancy using air control. According to marine environment, it is descend automatically to set-up depth and rise on the surface of the sea. The paper is the preceding research for a practical application. The fish cage simplified with the spherical float body. Then a control algorithm and a program developed by the experiment. And we did modelling by bond graph technique, and controlled by the practical reference model for PID control.

  • The torque characteristic of an induction motor is affected greatly by the slot shape at which the conductors of the rotor are located. In this paper, the three analysis model; general type, deep slot type, double squirrel-cage type, of which the slot shapes are different, were analyzed by FEM at no load, at rated load, and at standstill respectively. The flux distribution and air-gap flux density were also obtained. From the above result, it was confirmed that the analysis models of deep slot and double squirrel-cage had more desirable characteristics than those of general squirrel-cage.

  • This paper is to describe a method for calculating resistance of cage rotor end-ring, based on 3-D finite element method using magnetic vector potential $\vec{A}$ and electric scalar potential ${\phi}$. The induced current of a cage rotor flows through the bars of a cage rotor. The current completes their closed paths by passing around the end-ring. The end-ring may contribute a significant influence to the performance of machine. The resistance under consideration of skin effect is calculate by using Joule's loss equation.

  • The present study examined the hypothesis that NMDA, AMPA/Kainate, and metabotropic (mGlu) glutamate receptors contribute to a behavioral stimulation induced by activation of dopamine receptors by comparing responses in apomorphine-induced cage climbing behaviors in mice. MK-801, CNQX, and MCPG were served as the NMDA receptor, AMPA/Kainate receptor, and mGlu receptor antagonist, respectively, to elucidate the glutamatergic modulation in apomorphine-induced eopaminergic activation in mice. Drugs were administered intracerebroventricularly (i.c.v.) into the mouse brain 15 min before the apomorphine treatment (2 mg/kg, s.c.). 1.c.v. injection of MK-801 inhibited the apomorphine-induced cage climbing behavior dose-dependently. However, treatments with CNQX and MCPG did not any significant change in apomorphine-induced cage climbing behavior in mice. These results suggest that stimulation of NMDA type of glutamate receptors could contribute to the dopaminergic sti mutation, but not AMPA/Kainate and mGlu type glutamate receptors.

  • A small cage-like molecule (2) composed of three aminomethyl pyrroles and two hexa-substituted benzenes has been prepared by reduction of its iminopyrrole analogue (1) using NaBH4. It was revealed by 1H NMR spectroscopic analyses that cage molecule 2 strongly binds the fluoride anion in polar DMSO-d6 relative to CDCl3. Compared to that of compound 1, the lowered affinity of 2 for the fluoride anion is attributable to its increased electron density resulting from the production of thesecondary amine groups.

  • Recently, cost of rare-earth magnets has been raised, because rare-earth magnets are monopolized and the export is also regulated in China. For this reason, the induction motor is operated without the rare-earth magnets. The efficient development of induction motor is more important for economical scheme. A torque of the induction motor is computed and the correlation between dimension and resistance of the squirrel cage rotor is investigated. Also, the correlation between leakage reactance and torque was analyzed with respect to the same dimension of rotor with different shapes. Therefore, this paper proposes the method of improvement for squirrel cage rotor.

  • Objective : To document lumbar lordosis (LL) of the spine and its change during surgeries with the different height but the same angle setting of the anterior cage. Additionally, we attempted to determine if sufficient LL is achieved at different cage heights and to quantify the change in LL during multi-level anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF). Methods : The medical records and radiographs of 42 patients who underwent more than 2 level ALIFs between 2008 and 2009 were retrospectively reviewed. We evaluated 3 parameters seen on lateral whole spine radiographs : LL, pelvic incidence (PI), and sagittal vertical axis (SVA). The mean follow-up time was 28.1 months and the final follow-up radiographs of all patients were reviewed at least 2 years after surgery. Statistical analysis was performed using the paired t-tests. Results : Lumbar lordosis had changed up to 30 degrees immediately and 2 years after surgery (preoperative mean LL, SVA : 22.45 degrees, 112.31 mm; immediate postoperative mean LL, SVA : 54.45 degrees, 37.36 mm; final follow-up mean LL, SVA : 49.56 degrees, 26.95 mm). Our goal of LL is to obtain as much PI as possible, preoperative mean PI value was $55.38{\pm}3.35$. The pre-operative and two year post-surgery follow-up mean of the Japanese Orthopedic Association score were $9.2{\pm}0.6$ and $13.2{\pm}0.6$ (favorable outcome rate : 95%), respectively. In addition, we were able to obtain good clinical outcomes and sagittal balance with a subsidence rate of 22.7%. Conclusion : We were able to achieve sufficient LL, such that it was similar to the PI, utilizing multi-level ALIF with the use of a tall cage with the same angle setting of the cage. We have found out that achieving sufficient lumbar lordosis and sagittal balance require an anterior lumbar cage with high angle and height.
