Clinical Factors Influencing the Trial and Purchase of Bilateral Microphones with Contralateral Routing of Signal in Patients with Asymmetric Sensorineural Hearing Loss

  • Background and Objectives: Bilateral microphones with contralateral routing of signal (BiCROS) hearing aid is an option for hearing rehabilitation in individuals with asymmetric sensorineural hearing loss (ASNHL). The clinical factors influencing the trial and purchase of BiCROS were investigated. Subjects and Methods: We reviewed the medical records of 78 patients with ASNHL who were recommended to use BiCROS and analyzed the demographic and audiological factors influencing the trial and purchase of BiCROS. Results: Among the 78 patients, 52 (66.7%) availed of the free BiCROS trial and 21 (26.9%) purchased BiCROS. The mean pure tone audiometry (PTA) air conduction (AC) threshold of the better- and worse-hearing ears were 44.2±12.8 dB and 90.7±22.5 dB HL, respectively. The decision for trial or purchase of BiCROS was not influenced by age, sex, duration of hearing loss of the worse-hearing ear, or PTA AC threshold or speech discrimination score of both ears. The first and third quartiles of the PTA AC thresholds for the better-hearing ear of BiCROS buyers were 38.75 dB and 53.75 dB HL, respectively. The counterpart values for the worse-hearing ear were 72.50 dB and 118.75 dB HL, respectively. Conclusions: The clinical factors analyzed in this study were found to be irrelevant to the trial and purchase of BiCROS in patients with ASNHL. Nevertheless, the distribution range of the auditory thresholds of the subjects using BiCROS can be a useful basis for the counseling of patients with ASNHL and selection of candidates for BiCROS use.

지그비 크로스 보청기에서의 자기음성 억제 알고리즘 연구 (A Study on the Self-voice Suppression Algorithm in a ZigBee CROS Hearing Aid)

  • 본 연구에서는 편측성 난청인을 위한 저전력 무선통신인 지그비를 이용해 청력이 나쁜 쪽 귀의 소리를 청력이 좋은 쪽 귀로 전송해주는 무선 크로스 보청기를 설계하였다. 일반적으로 크로스 보청기에서는 자기목소리가 크게 려 상대방 음성인식에 영향을 줄 수 있다. 이를 방지하고자 본 연구에서는 자기음성억제 알고리즘을 제안한다. 자기음성억제 알고리즘의 성능평가를 확인하기 위하여 어음명료도검사를 하였다. 실험데이터는 1m 거리의 상대음성인 1음절단어 세트와 자기음성을 함께 녹음한 것을 사용하였다. 그 결과, 어음명료도검사에서 자기음성억제 알고리즘 적용 시 SDT값이 약 11%가량 증가였다. 즉, 자기음성억제 알고리즘이 동시 대화 시 상대방 음성인식 향상에 도움이 된다는 결과를 얻었다.

  • Objectives: There is a requirement to establish the standard operating procedures(SOPs) for chronic inhalation/carcinogenicity testing, so we would like to set them appropriately. Methods and Results: We established SOPs according to guidelines from international organizations such as OECD, the US EPA, and relevant institutions in advanced countries. We also benchmarked other contract research organizations(CROs) in Korea. Conclusions: We created appropriate SOPs for chronic inhalation/carcinogenicity testing.

  • In this paper, we present mSROS(Micro-Scalable Realtime Operating System) to be applied commonly to the device controller systems in the HANbit ACE256 system. The device controller systems in HANbit ACE256 system are organized as many kinds of device controller. Applying modified PPOS(Peripheral Processor Operating System)which is an operating system for devices of the TDX-10 switching system to the firmwares for them, the inefficiency in development and maintenance exists inherently. To remove the inefficiency nd to improve the performqance of firmwares, we build a common operating system platform that including multi-tasking microkernel so that the firmwares among devices can acquire convenient development and cheap cost of maintencance. Especially, building a virtual machine as a development methodology, it is possible to remove dependency from the kernel so that any kinds of commercial real-time kernels can be used in mSROS as a basic kernel. The virtual machine in mSROS is compatible with the API of SROS(Scalable Realtime Operating System), PPOS, and CROS(Concurrent Realtime Operating System).

Preparation and Characterization of PVA/SA Blend Nanofiltration membranes

  • The nanofiltration (NF) membranes based on poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and sodium alginate (SA) were prespared. Homogeneous PVA/SA blend membranes were prepared by casting a PVA/SA (95/5 in wi%) mixture solution on an acryl plate followed by drying at a room temperature and by cros-slinking with glutaraldehyde (GA) for 20 minutes PVA/SA blend composite membranes were also prepared by coating a PVA/SA (95/5 in wi%) mixture solution on microporous polysulfone(PSF) supports. The PVA/SA active layer of the composite membrane was crosslinked at room temperature by using an membranes were characterized with a scanning electron microscopy (SEM) a fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and permeation tests. The permeation properties of the composite membrane were as follows: 1.3{{{{ {m }^{2 } }}}}/{{{{ {m }^{2 } }}}}day of flux and >95% of rejection at 200 psi for a 1000 ppm PEG600 solution.

  • The present study contributes reviewing and suggesting various models for measurement system analysis (MSA). Measurement errors consist of accuracy, linearity, stability, part precision, repeatability and reproducibility (R&R). First, the major content presents split-plot design, and the combination method of crossed and nested design for obtaining gage R&R. Second, we propose $\bar{x}-s$ variable control chart for calculating the gage R&R and number of distinct category. Lastly, investigating the determination of gage performance curve which establishes the control specification propagating calibration uncertainties and measurement errors is described.

지능형정보제공시스템에서 자원서비스제어부의 구현 (Implementatioon of the Resource Service Control Part on the Intelligent Peripheral)

  • 본 논문은 지능형 정보 제공 시스템(IP : Intelligent Peripheral)의 주요 소프트웨어 블록 중 하나인 자원 서비스 제어부의 구현 방법을 설명한 것이다. 본 연구의 자원 서비스 제어부는 ITU-T INCS-1에 정의된 특수자원 기능실체(SRF : Specialized Resource Function)의 상태모델을 실현시킨 소프트웨어 블록으로서 IP 하드웨어 구성요소의 하나인 특수자원교환기(SRS : Specialized Resource Switch) 의 CROS(Concurrent Realtime perating System)상에서 CHILL(CCITT High Level Programming Language)로 구현되었으며, 지능망서비스제어시스템(SCP : Service Control Point)이 보낸 지능망 응용프로토콜(INAP : Intelligent Network Application Protocol)오퍼레이션을 분석하여 IP가 보유한 자원 구동에 필요한 모든 절차를 제어한다. 또한 동시에 수신된 INAP오퍼레이션들에 대한 순서제어기능, 통계데이타 제공기능, 사용자 상호작용 종료 기능등을 제공한다. 제안된 구현기술은 자원서비스 제어부가 실제 자원을 동작시키는 IP 하드웨어 구성요소인 특수자원유닛(SRU : Specialized Resource Unit)을 클라이언트/서버형태로 유지하여 이들 자원의 상태를 관리함으로써 IP의 확장성을 보잔하여, 교환기 실시간 데이터베이스를 이용하여 IP가 생성하는 수만여개의 메시지를 효율적으로 관리할 수있다.

  • 대립종자와 소립종자의 cross부터 F$_{2}$와 F$_{3}$ 세대에서의 종자크기에 대한 빈도분포의 다음과 같다. 두 세대에서 모본의 크기와 같은 progeny는 나타나지 않았으며 각 세대의 평균치는 양 모본의 평균치 보다 낮았다. 소립종자 크기에 비해 우성적인 유전양상을 나타 내었다.
