Although a number of studies have been performed to assure that residual stress caused by a mismatch of alloy porcelain thermal expansion can contribute to clinical failure of a ceramometal restoration, the interactive influence of cooling rate on the magnitude of thermal expansion difference and on bond strength between them have not been extensively analyzed. The objective of this study was to determine the influence of cooling rate and the number of firing cycles on the expansion mismatch and the flexural failure resistance of metal porcelain strip. Tested alloys included one Pd-Ag alloy, one Ni-Cr-Be alloy with two kinds of porcelain, Vita and Ceramco. Metal specimens were cast into rods with a height of 13mm and a diameter of 5mm. Subsequently, the castings were subjected to scheduled firing cycles without porcelain. And the porcelain specimens after being fired were trimmed into a bar with a final dimension of $5{\times}5{\times}25mm$. Thermal expansions of the alloys and porcelains were measured by using a push rod or a differential dialometer respecitvely. Porcelain glass transition temperatures and expansion values were derived alloy-porcelain pairs were assessed by comparing expansion values of the components at a porcelain glass transition temperature. Calculations were made using combinations of a Ni-Cr alloy or Pd-Ag alloy with each of two porcelain products. Metal-porcelain strip specimens were subjected to four point loading in an Instron testing machine until crack occured at the metal-cramic interface at the time of sharp decrease of load on recorder. On the basis of this study, the following conclusions may be stated: 1. Regardless of the kinds of ceramometal combinations, both of calculated and experimental data revealed that the double fired specimens exhibited a significantly lower flexural strength. 2. By the rise of the amount of mismatch, bond strength were decreased. 3. Thermal expansion value of Pd-Ag alloys were higher than that of Ni-Cr alloys. 4. Expansion curves of metal were proportional to the increase of temperature and were not affected by the experimental conditions, however porcelains did not show the same magnitude of metal, and a shift of the glass transition temperature to higher temperatures was observed when cooled rapidly 5. Alloy-porcelain thermal compatibility appeared more dependent on the porcelain than the alloy.

Three different white cast irons alloyed with Cr, V, Mo and W were prepared in order to study their abrasion wear behavior in as-cast and heat-treated conditions. The specimens were produced using a 15㎏-capacity high frequency induction furnace. Melts were super-heated to $1600^{\circ}C$, and poured at $1550^{\circ}C$ into Y-block pepset molds. Three combinations of the alloying elements were selected so as to obtain the different types of carbides : 3%C-10%Cr-5%Mo-5%W(alloy No. 1: $M_7C_3$ and $M_6C$), 3%C -10%V-5%Mo-5%W(alloy No. 2: MC and $M_2C$) and 3%C-17%Cr-3%V(alloy No. 3: $M_7C_3$ only). A scratching type abrasion test was carried out in the states of as-cast(AS), homogenizing(AH), air-hardening(AHF) and tempering(AHFT). First of all, the as-cast specimens were homogenized at $950^{\circ}C$ for 5h under the vacuum atmosphere. Then, they were austenitized at $1050^{\circ}C$ for 2h and followed by air-hardening in air. The air-hardened specimens were tempered at $300^{\circ}C$ for 3h. 1 ㎏ load was applied in order to contact the specimen with abrading wheel which was wound by 120 mesh SiC paper. The wear loss of the test piece(dimension: $50{\times}50{\times}5$ mm) was measured after one cycle of wear test and this procedure was repeated up to 8 cycles. In all the specimens, the abrasion wear loss was found to decrease in the order of AH, AS, AHFT and AHF states. Abrasion wear loss was lowest in the alloy No.2 and highest in the alloy No.1 except for the as-cast and homogenized condition in which the alloy No.3 showed the highest abrasion wear loss. The lowest abrasion wear loss of the alloy No.2 could be attributed to the fact that it contained primary and eutectic MC carbides, and eutectic $M_2C$ carbide with extremely high hardness. The matrix of each specimen was fully pearlitic in the as-cast state but it was transformed to martensite, tempered martensite and austenite depending upon the type of heat-treatment. From these results, it becomes clear that MC carbide is a significant phase to improve the abrasion wear resistance.

Metal-ferroelectric-insulator-semoiconductor field effect transistor (MFISFETs) were fabricated using CMOS processes. The Pt/SBT/NO combined layers were etched for forming a conformal gate by using Ti/Cr metal masks and a two step etching method, By the method, we were able to fabricate a small-sized gate with the dimension of $16/4{\mu}textrm{m}$ in the width/length of gate. It has been chosen the non-self aligned source and drain implantation process, We have deposited inter-layer dielectrics(ILD) by low pressure chemical vapor deposition(LPCVD) at $380^{circ}C$ after etching the gate structure and the threshold voltage of p-channel MFISFETs were about 1.0 and -2.1V, respectively. It was also observed that the current difference between the $I_{ON}$(on current) and $I_{OFF}$(off current) that is very important in sensing margin, is more that 100 times in $I_{D}-V_{G}$ hysteresis curve.

ZnO varistor is studied to sintering condition and mixing condition for the improvement to non linear of electrical characteristics. In this paper, ZnO varistor, ZnO-Bi$_2$O$_3$-Y$_2$O$_3$-MnO-Cr$_2$O$_3$-Sb$_2$O$_3$series, is fabricated with Sb$_2$O$_3$mol ratio(0.5~4[mol%]) and sintered at 1250[$^{\circ}C$] for 2 hours. The grain size to Sb$_2$O$_3$moi ratio was measured by fractal mathematics. The ZnO varistors that Sb$_2$O$_3$mot ratio is 1[mol%] were shown small grain size because of spinel phase. The fractal dimension were increased with increasing of Sb$_2$O$_3$mo ratios. The capacitance of ZnO varistors with increasing of Sb$_2$O$_3$additive in voltage-capacitance characteristics was decreased by small grain size.

Skin color detection is used to classify input pixels into skin and non skin area, and it requires the classifier to have a high classification rate. In previous work, most classifiers used single color model for skin color detection. However the classification rate can be increased by using more than one color model due to the various characteristics of skin color distribution in different color models, and the MLP is also invested as a more efficient classifier with less parameters than other classifiers. But the input dimension and required parameters of MLP will be increased when using two color models in skin color detection, as a result, the increased parameters will cause the huge teaming time in MLP. In this paper, we propose a MLP based classifier with less parameters in two color models. The proposed partially connected MLP based on two color models can reduce the number of weights and improve the classification rate. Because the characteristic of different color model can be learned in different partial networks. As the experimental results, we obtained 91.8% classification rate when testing various images in RGB and CbCr models.

In this paper, an active object tracking system basing on the pan/tilt-embedded stereo camera system is suggested and implemented. In the proposed system, once the face area of a target is detected from the input stereo image by using a YCbCr color model and phase-type correlation scheme and then, using this data as well as the geometric information of the tracking system, the distance and 3D information of the target are effectively extracted in real-time. Basing on these extracted data the pan/tilted-embedded stereo camera system is adaptively controlled and as a result, the proposed system can track the target adaptively under the various circumstance of the target. From some experiments using 480 frames of the test input stereo image, it is analyzed that a standard variation between the measured and computed the estimated target's height and an error ratio between the measured and computed 3D coordinate values of the target is also kept to be very low value of 1.03 and 1.18% on average, respectively. From these good experimental results a possibility of implementing a new real-time intelligent stereo target tracking and surveillance system using the proposed scheme is finally suggested.

To investigate the 3-bond connectivity of human brain metabolites by scalar coupling interaction through 2D-correlation spectroscopy (COSY) techniques using high field NMR spectroscopy. All NMR experiments were performed at 298K on Unity Inova 500 or 600 (Varian Inc.) equipped with a triple resonance probe head with z-shield gradient. Human brain metabolites were prepared with 10% $D_2O$. Two dimensional 2D COSY spectra were acquired with 4096 complex data points in $t_2$ and 128 or 256 increments in $t_1$ dimension. The spectral width was 9615.4 Hz and solvent suppression was achieved using presaturation using low power irradiation of the water resonance during 2s of relaxation delay. NMR data were processed using VNMRJ (Varian Instrument) software and all the chemical shifts were referenced to the methyl resonance of N-acetyl aspartate (NAA) peak at 2.0 ppm. Total 10 metabolites such as N-acetyl aspartate (NAA), creatine (Cr), choline (Cho), glutamine (Gln), glutamate (Glu), myo-inositol (Ins), lactate (Lac), taurine (Tau), ${\gamma}$-aminobutyricacid (GABA), alanine (Ala) were included for major target metabolites. Symmetrical 2D-COSY spectra were successfully acquired. Total 14 COSY cross peaks were observed even though there were parallel/orthogonal noisy peaks induced by water suppression. Except for Cr, all of human brain metabolites produced COSY cross peaks. The spectra of NAA methyl proton at 2.02 ppm and Glu methylene proton ($CH_2(3)$) at 2.11 ppm and Gln methylene proton ($CH_2(3)$) at 2.14 ppm were overlapped in the similar resonance frequency between 2.00 ppm and 2.15 ppm. The present study demonstrated that in vitro 2D-COSY represented the 3-bond connectivity of human brain metabolites by scalar coupling interaction. This study could aid in better understanding the interactions between human brain metabolites in vivo 2D-COSY study. Also it would be helpful to determine the molecular stereochemistry in vivo by using two-dimensional MR spectroscopy.

This paper presents the fabrication of a micro electromagnetic flow sensor for the liquid flow rate measurement. The micro electromagnetic flow sensor has some advantages such as a simple structure, no heat generation, a rapid response and no pressure loss. The principle of the micro electromagnetic flow sensor is based on Faraday's law. If conductive fluid passes through a magnetic field, the electromotive force is generated and detected by two electrodes on the wall of the flow channel. The flow sensor consists of two permanent magnets and a silicon flow channel with two electrodes. The dimension of the flow sensor is $9\;mm\;{\times}\;9\;mm\;{\times}\;1\;mm$. The micro flow channel is mainly fabricated by anisotropic etching of two silicon wafers, and the detection electrodes are fabricated by metal evaporation process. The characteristic of the fabricated flow sensor is obtained experimentally. When the flow rates of water with the conductance of $100-200\;{\mu}S/cm$ are 9.1 ml/min and 62 ml/min, the generated electromotive forces are $261\;{\mu}V$ and 7.3 mV, respectively.
