$CO_2$ 레이저를 이용한 용접튜브 제조공정에서의 용접선 추적 및 용접품질 모니터링 (Weld Quality Monitoring and Seam Tracking in Making of Welded Tube using $CO_2$ Laser)

  • Weld quality monitoring and seam tracking along the butt-joint lengthwise to the tube axis are studied. The material of tube is 60kg/$\textrm{mm}^2$ grade steel sheet, and the longitudinal butt-joint is shaped by 2 roll bending machine. The tube with a thickness of 1.5mm, diameter of 105.4mm and length of 2000mm is successfully obtained by the $CO_2$ laser welding system equipped with a seam tracker and plasma sensor. Experimental results show that the developed welding system can be used for the precision seam tracking and the real-time monitoring of weld quality, and the laser welded tube can be used for car body md component after tubular hydroforming.

  • To minimize the weld defect in manufacturing of the welded tube by using $CO_2$ laser, the monitoring of the welding quality and the seam tracking along the butt-joint lengthwise to the tube axis are studied. The longitudinal butt-joint is shaped from $60kgf/mm^2$ grade steel sheet by 2 roll bending method, and welded by the $CO_2$ laser welding system equipped with the seam tracker and plasma sensor. The laser welded tube has the thickness of 1.5mm, diameter of 105.4mm and length of 2000mm. The precise positioning of the laser beam on the butt-joint to be assembled is obtained within $200{\mu}m$ by the laser vision sensor. The artificial defects in the butt-joint are well observed by the signal of plasma intensity measured from the plasma sensor of UV wavelength range within 400nm. The developed $CO_2$ laser tube welding system has the function of the precision seam tracking and the real-time monitoring of the welding quality. In conclusion, the laser welded tube can be used for manufacturing of automobile chassis and components after hydro-forming.

  • 본 논문은 $CO_2$ 히트펌프용 모세관의 기초 설계자료를 제공하기 위해서 모세관 길이 예측에 대해서 이론 및 실험적으로 조사하였다. 본 연구에서 고려된 작동변수로는 증발온도, 가스냉각기 냉각압력, 냉매유량, 모세관의 관경 등이다. 몇몇 연구자들의 자료를 바탕으로 $CO_2$ 모세관 길이를 예측할 수 있는 수학적 모델식을 작성하였다. 그리고 단열 모세관 팽창장치내 $CO_2$의 증발온도, 냉매유량, 냉각압력 등에 대해서 실험한 결과, 이들 모두는 식 (3)으로 예측한 값과 0.63~10.9%이내에서 좋은 일치를 보였다. 따라 서 본 연구에서는 $CO_2$ 열펌프 단열 모세관에 대한 기초설계 자료로서, 냉각압력, 증발온도, 모세관 직경, 냉매유량 등의 조건으로부터 모세관 길이를 계산해낼 수 있는 예측 상관식을 제안하였다.

  • In the last five years, 45 people died and 104 were wounded because of carbon monoxide poisoning accident. CO poisoning accident is higher than any other gas accident in the rate of deaths/incidents. Most of these CO poisoning accidents were caused by defective exhaust tube in the old gas boiler and multi-use facility. In this study, the spread of CO gas released from leakage hole of exhaust tube was analyzed by computational flow modeling and concentration measuring test. CO gas leaked form exhaust tube in a building was highest concentrated near the ceiling and formed the circular currents along the walls. Through these experiments and simulation, the reasonable installation location of CO alarm was made certain and suggested.

이산화탄소/프로판 혼합냉매의 수평평활관 및 마이크로 핀관에서의 증발열전달에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Studies on the Evaporative Heat Transfer Characteristics of CO2/Propane Refrigerant Mixtures in Horizontal Smooth and Micro-fin Tubes)

  • Evaporation heat transfer characteristics of $CO_2$/propane mixtures in horizontal smooth and micro-fin tubes have been investigated by experiment. The experiments were carried out for several test conditions of mass fluxes, heat fluxes, compositions of $CO_2$/propane refrigerant mixtures and tube geometries. Direct heating method was used for supplying heat to the refrigerant where the test tube was uniformly heated by electric current which was applied to the tube wall. Heat transfer coefficient data during evaporation process of $CO_2$/propane mixtures were measured for 5 m long smooth and micro-fin tubes with outer diameters of 5 mm, respectively. The tests were conducted at mass fluxes of 318 to 997 $kg/m^2s$, heat fluxes of 6 to 20 $kW/m^2$ and for several mixture compositions (100/0, 75/25, 50/50, 25/75, 100/0 by wt% of $CO_2$/propane). The differences of heat transfer characteristics between smooth and micro-fin tubes for various compositions of $CO_2$/propane refrigerant mixtures and the effect of mass flux, and heat flux on enhancement factor (EF) and penalty factor (PF) were presented.

Gas Diffusion Tube Dimension in Sensor-Controlled Fresh Produce Container System to Maintain the Desired Modified Atmosphere

  • Modified atmosphere (MA) of reduced $O_2$ and elevated $CO_2$ concentrations has been used for keeping the quality of fresh produce and extending the shelf life. As a way to attain the beneficial MA package around the produce, a gas diffusion tube or perforation can be attached onto the container and controlled on real time in its opening/closing responding to $O_2$ and $CO_2$ concentrations measured by gas sensors. The timely-controlled opening of the gas diffusion tube can work in harmony with the produce respiration and help to create the desired MA. By use of the mathematical modeling, the effect of tube dimension on the controlled container atmosphere was figured out in this study. Spinach and king oyster mushroom were used as typical commodities for designing the model container system (0.35 and 0.9 kg in 13 L, respectively) because of their respiration characteristics and the optimal MA condition ($O_2$ 7~10%/$CO_2$ 5~10% for spinach; $O_2$ 2~5%/$CO_2$ 10~15% for mushroom). With a control logic for the gas composition to stay as close as possible to optimum MA window without invading injurious low $O_2$ and/or high $CO_2$ concentrations, the atmosphere of the sensor-controlled container could stay at its lower $O_2$ boundary or upper $CO_2$ limit under certain tube dimensional conditions. There were found to be the ranges of the tube diameter and length allowing the beneficial MA. The desired range of the tube dimension for spinach consisted of combinations of larger diameter and shorter length in the window of 0.3~2 cm diameter and 0.2~10 cm length. Similarly, that for king oyster mushroom was combinations of larger diameter and shorter length in the window of 0.9~2 cm diameter and 0.2~3 cm in length. Clear picture on generally affordable tube dimension range may be formulated by further study on a wide variety of commodity and pack conditions.

  • Traditional construction method of the stern tube is difficult to control the process and needs excessive working hours. Recently in order to resolve these issues, stern tube unit has been installed for some commercial vessels. The stern tube unit is a monolithic structure of bush and related components. The purpose of this study is to carry out a feasibility study for application of the stern tube unit for a 174K twin skeg LNG carrier. In this study, a 19,000 TEU container carrier installing the stern tube unit has been selected to compare with the deformations of stern for a 174K twin skeg LNG carrier.

  • 다중관식 헬리컬 코일형 가스냉각기내 $CO_2$의 열유량과 압력강하는 LMTD 방식을 이용하여 예측하였고 그 결과를 실험값과 비교하였다. $CO_2$와 냉각수의 유량은 각각 0.06~0.075 kg/s이고, 가스냉각기의 냉각압력은 8~10 MPa이다. 초임계 $CO_2$의 냉각시의 열유량과 압력강하는 LMTD 방식을 이용하여 예측하였고, 이때 냉매측 열전달과 압력강하식은 각각 Gnielinski와 Dittus-Boelter 식을 사용하였다. LMTD법으로 예측한 값과 실험값을 비교한 결과, $CO_2$의 열유량과 압력강하는 상대적으로 좋은 일치를 보였다.

  • The paper presents the heat transfer characteristics during cooling process of carbon dioxide($CO_2$) in a helically coiled tube. The main components of the apparatus consist of a receiver, a variable speed pump, a mass flowmeter, a pre-heater, a gas cooler(test section) and an isothermal tank. The test section with the inner diameter 4.55 [mm] is a tube in tube type heat exchanger with refrigerant flowing in the inner tube and water flowing in the annulus. The main results were summarized as follows : The heat transfer coefficient increases with respect to the decrease of the gas cooler pressure in a supercritical region and the increase of the refrigerant mass flux. The pressure drop decreases in increases of the gas cooler pressure and increases with respect to increases the refrigerant mass flux.

  • This system is the automatic boiler tube bending equipment which has four heads for bending the tube and the carriage for moving the tube. The system consists of two frames for transporting each moving parts, high-frequency heating equipment for heating the tube in hot bending, control panel for inputting the job data operating, remote control unit for concetration and distribution of input/output, and the monitoring system which can establish unmanned operationby receiving the bending job data via LAN form a design teamwhich produces the job data and schedule based on master production plan and diagnoses bending data change, input, whole system status, and system malfunctions. By employing this system, 30% of production improvement was achieved was achieved comparing to the existing bending system.
