  • We have studied electronic and magnetic structure of cubane-type Co magnetic molecule using density functional method. The calculated density of states show $Co^{+2}$ ionic state and high-spin state because of large exchange interaction between inside Co 3d electrons. The exchange interaction J between Co atoms depends Co-O-Co angle. The calculated J is ferromagnetic with right angles. On the other hand J is antiferromagnetic with large angles since super-exchange interactions between $Co^{+2}$ atoms. It induces that Co cubane has a antiferromagnetic spin structure of AFM1 = [${\uparrow}{\uparrow}{\downarrow}{\downarrow}$]

  • Sputter deposited CoCr(Mo)/Si film were studied with emphasis on the correlation between magnetic properties and crystallographic orientation. The perpendicular coercivities of CoCr films decreased with Si underlayer thickness, whereas those of CoCrMo films increased with Si underlayer thickness. It has been explained that additions of the larger atomic radius Mo atoms in CoCr films impedes crystal growth resulting in a decrease in grain size, thus this small grain size may induce high perpendicular coercivity. The c-axis alignment of CoCrMo film was improved due to addition of 2at.%Mo. It means CoCrMo layer grow self-epitaxial directly from orientation and structure of Si underlayer when the main layer grow on underlayer.

  • Since 2019, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has spread rapidly, infecting millions of people worldwide. On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared coronavirus disease (COVID-19) a pandemic owing to the worldwide spread of SARS-CoV-2, which created an unprecedented burden on the global healthcare system. In this context, there are increasing concerns regarding co-infections with other respiratory viruses, such as the influenza virus. In this study, clinical data of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 and other respiratory viruses were compared with patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 alone. The hematology and blood biochemistry results of 178 patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 , who were tested on admission, were retrospectively reviewed. In patients with SARS-CoV-2 and adenovirus co-infection, C-reactive protein levels were elevated on admission, whereas lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), prothrombin time, international normalized ratio, activated partial thromboplastin clotting time, and bilirubin values were all within the normal range. Moreover, patients with SARS-CoV-2 and human bocavirus co-infection had low LDH and high bilirubin levels on admission. These findings reveal the clinical features of respiratory virus and SARS-CoV-2 co-infections and support the development of appropriate approaches for treating patients with SARS-CoV-2 and other respiratory virus co-infections.

  • This study was attempted to study for recovery of Li as Li2CO3 from cathode active material, especially NCA (LiNiCoAlO2), recovered from spent lithium ion batteries. This consists of two major processes, carbonation using CO2 and water leaching. Carbonation using CO2 was performed at 600℃, 700℃ and 800℃, and NCA (LiNiCoAlO2) was phase-separated into Li2CO3, NiO and CoO. The water leaching process using the differences in solubility was performed to obtain the optimum conditions by using the washing time and the ratio of the sample to the distilled water as variables. As a result, NCA (LiNiCoAlO2) was phase-separated into Li2CO3 and NiO, CoO at 700℃, and Li2CO3 in water was recovered through vacuum filtration after 1 hour at a 1:30 weight ratio of the powder and distilled water. Finally, Li2CO3 containing Li of more than 98 wt.% was recovered.

  • This paper presents the disributions and variations of CO, $CO_2$, number of people and temperature in underground shopping center and subway of Seomyeon and Jagalchi in Pusan, Korea for two times during October and November in 1993, respectively. NDIR analyzer is used for the analysis of CO and $CO_2$. The temperature is obtained from a mercury therometer. The results o( observation and analysis show that the variation of $CO_2$ is strongly related to number of people and temperature. The correlation coefficients between temperature, COB and Number of people are higher than 0. at both of places. The pollution of CO2 of Seomyeon is higher than that of Jagachi in underground shopping center. However, CO is not correlated with the temperature and the Number of people. From the results, we found that the indoor air quality monitoring system is needed for the prevention of the underground air Pollution.

  • Budget for the industry-university co-operation is expanded by the increasing of the importance of industry-university co-operation. Even though, industry and university do not co-operate voluntarily. Until now, there is no research about industry-university co-operation focusing on SMEs. This paper is about industry-university co-operation focusing on SMEs. In this paper, we introduce the status and structural problems of industry-university co-operation related with SMEs. And we derive the problems of industry-university co-operation in terms of co-operation purpose. Industry-university co-operation in terms of co-operation purpose can be categorized as R&D, technology transfer, infrastructure, and manpower training. And last, we suggest how we improve the industry-university co-operation system to benefit SMEs.

  • Two types of poly(n-butyl acrylate) copolymer/silicate nanocomposites have been produced: poly(n-butyl acrylate-co-methyl methacrylate) [P(BA-co-MMA)]/silicate nanocomposites and poly(n-butyl acrylate-co-styrene) [P(BA-co-ST)]/silicate nanocomposites. The P(BA-co-MMA)/silicate nanocomposites shows the exfoliated structures but a P(BA-co-ST)/silicate nanocomposites have intercalated structures, because the BA/MMA comonomer has a higher polarity (e-value in Q-e scheme) than the BA/ST comonomer. The BA/MMA comonomer expanded the interlayer space of the silicate wider than did the BA/ST comonomer. The thermal degradation onset point of the P(BA-co-MMA)/silicate nanocomposites was 43$^{\circ}C$ higher than that of pure P(BA-co-MMA). P(BA-co-MMA)T5%, P(BA-co-MMA)T10%, and P(BA-co-MMA)T20% exhibit 134,302, and 195% increases, respectively, in their storage moduli at -20$^{\circ}C$ relative to the pure copolymer.

  • Silicide layer structures and morphology degradation of the surface and interface of the silicide layers for he Co/refractory metal bilayer sputter-deposited on the P-doped polycrystalline Si substrate and subjected to rapid thermal annealing were investigated and compared with those on the single Si substrate. The CoSi-CoSi2 phase transition temperature is lower an morphology degradation of the silcide layer occurs more severely for the Co/refractorymetal bilayer on the P-doped polycrystalline Si substrate than on the single Si substrate. Also the final layer structure and the morphology of the films after silicidation annealing was found to depend strongly upon the interlayer metal. The layer structure after silicidation annealing of Co/Hf/doped-poly Si is Co-Hf alloy/polycrystalline CoSi2/poly Si substrate while that of Co/Nb is polycrystalline CoSi2/NbSi2/polycrystalline CoSi2/poly Si.

  • The weldability of dissimilar materials between sintered materials which are consisted of Co, Co+Ni and carbon steel has been investigated using CO$_2$ laser. Autogeneous CO$_2$ laser welding were run along the butt between two alloys using sets of parameters variation-power and travel speed. In order to study weldability, mechanical tests (bending strength test, microhardness test) and metallurgical analyses (microstructure, phase transformation, fracture mode) were carried out. From the results obtained, it was found that the porosity which exists in a weld metal greatly affects the soundness of the weld. The optimum energy input to have a proper strength over than the requirement by a specification, found to be around 0.3-0.35kJ/m. There are two kinds of fracture mode in the weld metal, depending upon alloy combination, brittle fracture in the case of Co-carbon steel and a ductile fracture in the case of Co+Ni-carbon steel. In general, Co+Ni sintered material showed a better weld properties as compared to the Co sintered material.
