고속 지능형 CNC 시스템의 안정화 (Stabilization of a High-Speed and Intelligent CNC System)

  • A high-speed and intelligent CNC system has been developed by Turbotek Co., Ltd. This paper presents the study for commercialization of the developed CNC system. In order to acquire stability and reliability of the developed CNC system, its hardwares and softwares ate improved. The CNC main unit is revised to a compact box-type CNC controller. Moreover, the integrated CNC main unit that has built-in and expandable I/O modules is also developed. Remote monitoring, fault diagnosis End NURBS interpolation functions are realized on the CNC system as software modules. Through these efforts, the developed CNC system can be loaded on machine tools successfully.

  • This study has been focused on the development of an open architecture CNC system and integration of core application technology for machine tool such as a remote monitoring/diagnosis system, NURBS interpolation, and cutting process simulation. To do this, we have developed a comprehensive CNC software including the basic HMI, screen editor, ASF, and visual builder. As a control hardware system for machine tool, the universal I/O module and CNC main unit have been developed. Then the remote monitoring/diagnosis system and NURBS interpolation have been implemented in the CNC software. The cutting simulation software will be used for enhancing the productivity of machine tools. Through a simulator and test bed, the whole technology has been verified.

  • Ultra-Precision CNC polishing system including on-machine measurement system, a corrective polishing algorithm is developed. The unit removal profiles for various polishing tools and analyzed and tested and dwell time distributions and residual errors for a target removal shape are calculated. The corrective polishing algorithm is tested with various workpieces. This result will be used for the software development of the CNC polishing system.

  • Recently, CNC lathe is in need of higher speed for precision works. So more intensive and compact heat exchanger is necessary to cool down the heat in short time from drills and works during high speed working. In this study, to increase heat transfer coefficient per unit volume, inner groove tube is designed and compact oil cooler, 57% volume of conventional type, is manufactured. The heat transfer performance is experimented and is compared with the performance of conventional type.

  • This paper proposes Internet-based checking scheme for machine-tools with a variant CNC. Checking points defined in this research are classified into two categories such as structured point and operational point. The formal includes the vibration of bearing, temperature of spindle unit and another periodical management. And the latter includes oil checking, clamp locking/unlocking and machining on/off status. Through this research, for the global management of variant CNC machines interspersed with CAC and OAC in manufacturing system, the suitable environment for Internet-based checking of variant CNC machines was designed and the checking methods for CAC and OAC machines were compared with each other.

  • Increasing demands on precision machining with computerized numerical control (CNC) machines have necessitated that the tool to move not only position error as small as possible, but also with smoothly varying feedrates in space. This paper presents a new high precision interpolation algorithm for 3-dimensional (3D) Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline (NURBS) curve in the reference-pulse CNC technique. Based on the minimum path error strategy, real-time NURBS interpolator was developed in software and this was implemented with a PC-NC milling machine. The several experimental results have shown that the proposed NURBS interpolator is useful for the high precision machining of complex shapes. It is expected that this algorithm can be applied to the CNC machines for the machining of 3D free-form surfaces.

  • 본 논문에서는 Koren의 알고리즘을 밀링에 적용하는 ACCCNC시스템을 제안 CNC 시스템에 AC 시스템을 적용할 때 생기는 변수예측과 또 스텝 및 테이퍼의 두 가지 형 상모델에 대한 변수들의 거동 및 그 때의 생산성을 알아보고 또 이 시스템을 밀링에 적용할 때의 이들 시스템의 적용 가능성을 AC-unit 제어실험(control test)을 통하여 그 타당성을 검토하여 실제 CNC 시스템에 AC 시스템을 적용할 수 있도록 하는 ACC-CNC 시스템의 설계기준을 설정하여 시스템의 최적설계의 기초적인 자료를 얻고자 한다.

A Scheme on Internet-based Checking for Variant CNC Machines in Machine Shop

  • This paper proposes Internet-based checking technique for machine-tools with variant CNC (Computerized Numerical Controller). According to the architecture of CNC, CNC is classified into two types such as CAC (Closed Architecture Controller) which is conventional CNC, and OAC (Open Architecture Controller) which is a recently introduced PC-based controller. CAC has a closed architecture and it is dependent on CNC vender specification. Because of this, it has been very difficult for users to implement an application programs in CNC domain. Therefore, an additionally special module is required for Internet-based application such as remote checking. In this case, web I/O embedded module can be efficiently applied for Internet-based checking. The module is directly attached to TCP/IP network for communication. In order to obtain the monitoring data of CNC machines, the I/O signals of the module are assigned to PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) input and output (I/O) signals within CNC domain. On the other hand, OAC has a PC-based open architecture and an additional module is not necessary for the connection with external site. Because of this, a simple DAU is just used for signal sensing and data acquisition without additional communication modules. For Internet-based remote checking of machine-tools with OAC, a user-defined daemon and application programs are implemented as the form of internal function within the PC-based controller. Internet communication is performed between the daemon program in CNC domain and web script programs in external server.
