  • Computer Aided Process Planning(CAPP) has been emerged as playing a key role in Computer Integrated Manufacturing(CIM) as the most critical link to integrate CAD and CAM, and therefore much effort has been dedicated to the structure and creation of CAPP system. In this research, a modified variant CAPP system based on process planning rule base is developed, which generates process plans for parts automatically where GT code data are provided as input. In order to execute process planning, rules are constructed in the form of Decision Tree and this system has the inference engine that extracts the results of process planning on the basis of tree-structured rules which are concerned with manufacturing processes.

  • This paper focuses on the evaluation of FACTS control on available transfer capability(ATC) enhancement. Technical merit of FACTS technology on ATC boosting are analyzed. More effective control means for line flow and bus voltage are required for appling FACTS. In this paper, the power flow calculation method for deriving FACTS control parameters based on current injection model(CIM) and newton method. Integrated scheme for ATC calculation considering dynamic characteristic of power system is suggested. Study is based on the IEEE 57-bus system demonstrate the effectiveness of FACTS control on ATC enhancement.

  • Integration of intelligent robot workcell is now a hot issue in CIM and robotics area. This paper dealt with relatively low level essential topics. i. e., multi-robot coordination and real-time communication for the integration of intelligent robot workcell. For the coordination of multi-robot system, the tightly-coupled coordination is proposed using the various sensors. In order to handle the numerous communication data, time-critical communication network (field-bus) is introduced and investigated. Finally, intelligent robot workcell is suggested using the mini-MAP and field-bus.

  • Recent industrial efforts are directed toward the development of CIM(Computer integrated Manufacturing) system. It is often the case that the analysis of the system dynamic behaviour is overlooked, even if it is important for both the economic justification and system performance evaluation. The main purpose of this study is to present a n approach of system performance evaluation for PCB(Printed Circuit Board) manufacturing, especially the inner layer manufacturing processes, using simulation. The general overview of the PCB manufacturing environment has first been discussed. Then a computer simulation program which can consider the diverse dynamic environmental changes has been developed. Extensive system analyses have been performed based on the program developed and the three measures proposed. The results obtained in this study provide valuable guidelines for practical concerns and some recommendations for future extensions.

  • 산업분야의 통신시스템에는 주로 RS232C 통신, RS485 통신, CAN 통신 등이 주로 사용되었다면 근래에는 고속통신이 가능하며 공장 자동화(CIM)나 시스템 통합에 편리한 이더넷통신이 사용되고 있는 추세이다. 즉, 기존의 PC와 프로세서간의 통신의 방식에서 랜 선을 이용하여 원거리에서 프로세서의 제어와 모니터가 가능하도록 구현되는 실정이다. 이더넷을 통해 연결된 시스템은 $10Mbps{\sim}100Mbps$의 빠른 속도로 모니터링과 제어가 가능하여 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 승압형 컨버터를 구현하기 위하여 마이크로프로세서는 컨버터의 입력전압과 출력전압이 필요하며 이를 마이크로프로세서 내부에 있는 12비트A/D변환기로 구현하였다. 전압 제어를 위해서 본 논문에서는 25us 마다 PWM의 ON/OFF 폭을 미리 예측한 후 타이머를 이용하여 A/D 변환을 하도록 하였다. 원 칩 마이크로프로세서인 DSP(TMS320F2812)의 PWM 기능을 이용하여 승압형 컨버터에서 출력되는 전압을 계측하여 PID 제어이론을 바탕으로 전압을 제어하였다.

정밀 고속 가공을 위한 절삭공구의 개발

  • 기계산업의 발달과 함께 꾸준히 공작기계의 발달에 발맞추어 절삭가공 공구도 꾸준한 발전을 요구받아왔다. 점차로 기계가공이 고정밀도를 요구하고 원가절감을 위한 생산성의 극대화를 오래전부터 추구한 결과 공작기계의 위치정밀도의 향상과 고강성구조 및 computer와 robot의 발달에 따른 CIM(Computer Integrated Manufacturing)이 가능하게 되었다. 그에 따른 절삭가공의 최첨병인 절삭공구의 성능도 꾸준히 발전되어 왔다. 아무리 공작기계의 정도 및 강성이 뛰어난다 할지라도 공구의 성능이 따라가지 못할 때에는 그앞의 모든 노력이 결실을 거두기는 어렵다. 절삭공구에 요구되는 성능을 요약하면 첫째로 고정밀 가공용공구, 둘째로는 생산성을 높일 수 있는 공구(즉 고속, 고이송에서 수명이 긴 공구), 그리고 세째로는 산업의 다양화에 따른 피삭재의 변화에 민감한 공구, 즉 난삭재 가공이 가능한 공구로 분류할 수 있다.

  • Investment in FA facilities has been accerelated since 1986, turning point by labor strife in Korea firms. Most commonly adopted automation tech, in their manufacturing process consists of NC. Robotics, PLC, CAD/CAM now on and further confused system oriented FMS, CIM, etcs. undergoing. But for all their remarkable notices in manufacturing systems, The competitive position on product cost, quality, shorten delivery and profit has never been recovered in global swing market. To make some empirical suggestions with a view to competitive strategy of Korea firms by FA, to the conclusion largely FA tech. adoption can be justified only when its application on new product productions and improved the structure of products comparatively. Because of when it was applied in old production process. The effectiveness is very doubtful to the lacks of consistent and integrate manufacturing policy with the strategy of the fim and their poor standardization level in shop floors.

  • 본 논문에서는 그리드 기반 워크플로우 시스템을 심혈관계 질환 진단 시스템에 적용하고 그 성능을 평가하였다. 논문은 그리드 기반 워크플로우의 정책을 정의하고 CIM기반의 표준 모델로 구현하였다. 또한 정의된 정책은 기존의 그리드 기반 자원 관리 시스템의 정책과 통합하기 위한 정책 결정자를 제안하였으며 이를 Pegasus와 Kepler기반으로 구현하였다. 응용 및 성능 평가를 위하여 제안하는 시스템은 심혈관계 질환 진단 시스템에 적용 되었으며 사용자의 SLA를 시간과 비용관점에서 효과적인 수행을 만족시킬 수 있음을 실험을 확인하였다.

  • The demand for automatic manufacturing systems is increasing. Flexible Manufacturing System(FMS) is usually considered as a soluting for the shop floor automation. One of the difficulties in FMS is the communications problem. Since various machineries with different communications protocoles are included, applying a unified scheme is almost impossible. Therefore, a systematic approach is a key point to solve the communication problem. A cell is difined as an automation unit where closely related for a job reside together. A cell is a messenger between upper level computers and lower level machine equipment. In this research, the fonctions of the cell are defined to have more capabilities than conventional cells since a cell can be often a total manufacturing system is a small to medium sized factory. The cell conducts communications with different machines through the communications schemes established here. A set of software system has been developed according to the defined communication. The software has been tested for a simulation and real experiments for proof.
