We propose a dual Fabry-Perot interferometer (DFPI) structure that combines two Fabry-Perot interferometers. The structure is designed to have spectral peaks in the red, green, and blue regions simultaneously, to be applicable to R, G, and B subpixels without any patterning process. The optimized structure has been fabricated on a glass substrate using a thermal evaporation technique. When the DFPI structure was attached to the quantum-dot color-conversion layer, the full width at half maximum values of the green and red spectra decreased by 47.29% and 51.07% respectively. According to CIE 1931 color space, the DFPI showed a 37.66% wider color gamut than the standard RGB color coordinate. Thus it was experimentally proven that the proposed DFPI structure improved color purity. This DFPI structure will be useful in realizing a display with high color purity.
This paper proposes a simulation algorithm to assess the gradual yellowing vision of the elderly, which refers to the predominance of yellowness in their vision due to aging of the ocular optic media. This algorithm employed the spectral transmittance property of a yellow filter to represent the color appearance perceived by elderly people with yellow vision, and modeled the changes in the color space through a spectrum change in light using the yellow filter effect. The spectral reflectivity data of 1269 Munsell matte color chips were used as reference data. Under the standard conditions of a D65 illuminant and a $10^{\circ}$ observer of 1964 CIE, the spectrum of the 1269 Munsell colors were processed through the yellow filter effect to simulate yellow vision. Various degrees of yellow vision were modeled according to the transmittance percentage of the yellow filter. The color differences before and after the yellow filter effect were calculated using the DE2000 formula, and the color pairs were selected based on the color difference function. These color pairs are distinguishable through normal vision, but the color difference diminishes as the degree of yellow vision increases. Assuming 80% of yellow vision effect, 17 color pairs out of $(1269{\times}1268)/2$ pairs were selected, and for the 90% of yellow vision effect, only 3 color pairs were selected. The result of this study can be utilized for the diagnosis system of gradual yellow vision, making various types of test charts with selected color pairs.

Epoxy polymer exposed to solar radiation on long-term is required to a long-term environmental test in order to ensure the reliability of operation performance. In this paper, the solar aging experiment is performed for 7, 14, 28, 56, and 84 cycles, using solar simulator designed according to MIL-STD-810. After the aging experiment, measuring RGB values and using the CIE1976 color space, each RGB decreasing rates and total color shift are calculated. In addition, using a universal testing machine, mechnical properties according to ASTM-D638 are measured. As a result, by increasing solar aging period, total color shift is increased, and the tensile strength and elongation are decreased, but the elastic modulus and the poisson's ratio are slightly changed.

A compensation method of color error resulting from dynamic range transformation of color image is propsoed. The color error is measured using the CIE L a b uniform color space, and the color image is compensated to minimize it. The color error is significant in the dark region of image, which is caused by the lunimance scaling factor is relatively large in that case. In the proposed method, we weight the luminance scaling factor corresponding to luminnce to minimize the error. Because the weighting factor depends on luminace distribution of image, a decisio method of weighting factor using histogram is also proposed.
UV-vis spectroscopy is one of the powerful tools for measuring the concentrations of reactant and products during a chemical reaction. However, there is an limitation of using the technique when the reaction undergoes in high concentration and high temperature. Color analysis using camera images can provide the identical results with UV-vis analysis with regardless of the sample concentration and temperature. The catalytic reduction reaction of resazurin to resorufin was investigated using the color analysis with the color spaces such as CIE L*a*b*. Moreover, the color analysis enabled the independent analysis of two different material's concentrations without the deconvolution of overlapped wavelengths unlike the case of using UV-vis spectroscopy.

The demand for recognizing the color as well as the object shape is increasing to use the detailed information, because-the expense of color input/output devices become cheap. The research on the color correction should be researched for the exact color presentation and color reproduction of color input/output systems. In this paper, we researched on the color correction of color scanner. The characterization of color scanner is a two step process of gray-balancing and color transformation. The decoupling of the gray-balancing from the color transformation enables the portability of the scanner characterization. We used the least square methods for the line fitting and the Neural Network for the storage space and computation speed. The output of Neural Network is similar to the target value in three-dimensional tristimulus space. The proposed color correction method can be used for all scanners of a manufacturer's model because of the portability.
The purpose of this study is to develope new dental color-space system. Twelve kinds of dental composites and one kind of dental porcelain were used in this study. Disk samples (15 mm in diameter, 4 mm in thickness) of used materials were made and sample's CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ value was measured by Spectrocolorimeter (MiniScan XE plus, Model 4000S, diffuse/$8^{\circ}$ viewing mode, 14.3 mm Port diameters, Hunter Lab USA) The range of measured color distribution was analyzed. All the data were applied in the form of T### which is expression unit in CNU Cons Dental Color Chart. The value of $L^*$ lies between 80.40 and 52.70. The value of $a^*$ are between 10.60 and 3.60 and $b^*$ are between 28.40 and 2.21. The average value of $L^*$ is 67.40, and median value is 67.30. The value of $a^*$ are 2.89 and 2.91 respectively. And for the $b^*$, 14.30 and 13.90 were obtained. The data were converted to T### that is the unit count system in CNU-Cons Dental Color Chart. The value of $L^*$ is converted in the first digit of the numbering system. Each unit is 2.0 measured values. The second digit is the value of $a^*$ and is converted new number by 1.0 measured value. For the third digit $b^*$ is replaced and it is 2.0 measured unit apart. T555 was set to the value of $L^*$ ranging from 66.0 to 68.0, value of $a^*$ ranging from 3 to 4 and $b^*$ value ranging from 14 to 16.
Conventional fire detection systems use physical sensors to detect fire. Chemical properties of particles in the air are acquired by sensors and are used by conventional fire detection systems to raise an alarm. However, this can also cause false alarms; for example, a person smoking in a room may trigger a typical fire alarm system. In order to manage false alarms of conventional fire detection systems, a computer vision-based fire detection algorithm is proposed in this paper. The proposed fire detection algorithm consists of two main parts: fire color modeling and motion detection. The algorithm can be used in parallel with conventional fire detection systems to reduce false alarms. It can also be deployed as a stand-alone system to detect fire by using video frames acquired through a video acquisition device. A novel fire color model is developed in CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ color space to identify fire pixels. The proposed fire color model is tested with ten diverse video sequences including different types of fire. The experimental results are quite encouraging in terms of correctly classifying fire pixels according to color information only. The overall fire detection system's performance is tested over a benchmark fire video database, and its performance is compared with the state-of-the-art fire detection method.
A transformation methode of the chromaticity coordinates was proposed to calibrate the measured data obtained by a urine analysis system which implemented in our previous study. Generally. the reacted color of a reagent strip by urine analysis system often exhibit the color distortions due to nonlinear characteristics of the various devices that is the optic module mechanism. hardware, and surround circumstance. A color correction method for minimizing the color distortion play a few role in maintaining high accuracy and reproduction of the urine analysis system. In this work, we used the compensation method such as the shading correction, the characteristic curve extraction of RGB color by means of third order spline interpolation, and linear transformation using a reference color. In addition, 1931 CIE XYZ color space was used to compensate the color of the measured data by a standard reference system as colorimeter. A compensation matrix was obtained so that the output values of the urine analysis system is nearly equal to that of a standard reference system for identical color sample. Color correction obtained by a urine analysis system which implemented in our previous study exhibited a good color accuracy when it was compared with the reference data. Observed result from an experiments on ten items or a urinalysis strip that color difference or between two urine analysis system was 1.28.

Saliency detection in neurobiology is a vehement research during the last few years, several cognitive and interactive systems are designed to simulate saliency model (an attentional mechanism, which focuses on the worthiest part in the image). In this paper, a bottom up saliency detection model is proposed by taking into account the color and luminance frequency features of RGB, CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ color space of the image. We employ low-level features of image and apply band pass filter to estimate and highlight salient region. We compute the likelihood probability by applying Bayesian framework at pixels. Experiments on two publically available datasets (MSRA and SED2) show that our saliency model performs better as compared to the ten state of the art algorithms by achieving higher precision, better recall and F-Measure.
