Tongue diagnosis is convenient and non-invasive method to examine the body's functional condition, and it has been frequently used in traditional Korean Medicine (KM). The aim of this study was to investigate the difference of the tongue color assessed by computerized tongue image analysis system (CTIS) between the common cold (CC) patients and healthy subjects. A total of 85 participants, including 45 CC patients without organic diseases and 40 healthy subjects, were asked to complete the CC symptom questionnaire. A tongue image was acquired by using CTIS. Color differences in Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) L*, a* and b* between the CC patient group and the control group were analyzes by using paired t-test analysis. The variable CIE b* of the tongue body was significantly lower in CC than that in controls (P=0.019). The variable CIE L* of the tongue coating was significantly higher in CC than that in controls (P=0.032). In CC, the color of the tongue body seems to be changed to intense red color. The color of the tongue coating seems to be changed to thick fur. The present study demonstrated that the CTIS can be used as a diagnostic and monitoring tool for the objective and standardized evaluation of common cold in clinics.
We studied white organic light-emitting diodes using blue fluorescent and red phosphorescent materials. White single OLEDs were fabricated using SH-1 : BD-2 (3 vol.%) and CBP : $Ir(mphmq)_2(acac)$ (2 vol.%) as emitting layer (EML). The white single OLED using SH-1 : BD-2 (3 vol.% 8 nm) / CBP : $Ir(mphmq)_2(acac)$ (2 vol.% 22 nm) as emitting layer showed maximum current efficiency of 8.8 cd/A, Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.403, 0.351) at $1,000cd/m^2$, and variation of CIE coordinates with ($0.402{\pm}0.012$, $0.35{\pm}0.002$) from 500 to $3,000cd/m^2$. The white tandem OLED using SH-1 : BD-2 (3 vol.% 12 nm) / CBP : $Ir(mphmq)_2(acac)$ (2 vol.% 18 nm) showed maximum efficiency of 19.6 cd/A, CIE coordinates of (0.354, 0.365) at $1,000cd/m^2$, and variation of CIE coordinates with ($0.356{\pm}0.016$, $0.364{\pm}0.002$) from 500 to $3,000cd/m^2$. Maximum current efficiency of the white tandem OLED was more twice as high as the single OLED. Our findings suggest that tandem OLED was possible to produce improved efficiency and excellent color stability.
We studied white tandem organic light-emitting diodes using red and blue fluorescent materials. White 2 units tandem OLEDs were fabricated using $Alq_3$:Rubrene (3 vol.% 5 nm) and SH-1 : BD-2 (3 vol.% 25 nm) as emitting layer (EML). The device with $Alq_3$ : Rubrene (3 vol.% 5 nm) / SH-1 : BD-2 (3 vol.% 25 nm) showed yellowish white emission with a Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.442, 0.473) at $1,000cd/m^2$, and variation of CIE coordinates was low with ($0.44{\pm}0.002$, $0.472{\pm}0.001$) from 500 to $3,000cd/m^2$. White 3 units tandem OLEDs were fabricated by additory stacking the blue or white layer as EML. CIE coordinates of 3 units tandem OLEDs with stacked blue and white layer was low variation of ($0.293{\pm}0.008$, $0.36{\pm}0.005$) and ($0.412{\pm}0.002$, $0.423{\pm}0.001$) from 500 to $3,000cd/m^2$, respectively. Our findings suggest that stacked OLED was possible to controlling CIE coordinates and producing excellent color stability.

A new blue light emitting anthracene derivative, 9,10-bis-(9',9'-diethyl-7'-t-butyl-fluoren-2'-yl)anthracene (BETF), has been designed and synthesized by a palladium catalyzed Suzuki cross-coupling. A theoretical calculation of the three-dimensional structure of BETF supports that it has a non coplanar structure and inhibited intermolecular interactions resulting in high luminescent efficiency and high color purity. BETF has good thermal stability with glass-transition temperature (Tg) of $131^{\circ}C$. The PL maximum of BETF in solution and film were 438 nm and 440 nm, respectively, showing pure blue emission. A multilayer device using BETF as emitting material exhibits maximum luminescence efficiency of 2.2 cd/A and a pure blue emission (Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of x = 0.15, y = 0.10).

The novel blue light emitting material, 9,10-bis(3',5'-diphenylphenyl)anthracene (BDA) was synthesized by Suzuki coupling reaction and characterized by the measurements of 1H NMR, 13C NMR and FT-IR. The new anthracene derivative, which contains anthracene as a main core unit and 3',5'-diphenylphenyl group derivative as wings, has high fluorescence yield, good thermal stability, and high glass transition temperature at 188 oC. With the newly non-doped blue emitting material in the multilayer device structure, it was possible to achieve the current efficiency of 3.0 cd/A. The EL spectrum of the ITO/CuPc/α-NPD/BDA/Alq3/LiF/Al device showed a maximum wavelength (λmax) at 440 nm. The emitting color of device showed the blue emission (x,y) = (0.18,0.19) at 10 mA/cm2 in CIE (Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage) chromaticity coordinates.
Fluorescent white organic light-emitting diodes showing high color-rendering indices (CRIs) of up to 81 was demonstrated, with a silicon-cored anthracene derivative (PATSPA) doped with DPAVBi utilized as the deep-blue host and dye materials, and the commercial dyes rubrene and DCM2 utilized as the orange- and red-light-emitting dyes. The devices, consisting of three emissive layers, showed bright-white-light emission, but the ratio of the blue peak to the orange and red peaks changed with the current density and the thickness of the blue emissive layer. A high CRI was achieved with the use of a deep-blue emitter doped in a novel host and by optimizing the blue-layer thickness. The device with a blue-layer thickness of 10 nm showed the Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) color coordinate of (0.33, 0.35), a high CRI of 81, and a moderate external quantum efficiency of 2% at a current density of $2.5\;mA/cm^2$.
We investigated emission characteristics of tandem organic light emitting devices (OLEDs) with p-type materials as charge generation layer. The tandem OLEDs were fabricated by using $MoO_x$, $WO_x$, C60 and HATCN as p-type material or not using p-type material for charge generation. When HATCN was used as p-type material, it showed high current density at low applied voltage, but increase of efficiency was small because of charge unbalance in emitting layer. In case of tandem OLED not using p-type material, applied voltage increased remarkably because of difficulty of hole injection. In case of $MoO_x$, $WO_x$ or C60 as p-type material, current emission efficiency increased greatly. In particular, current emission efficiency of tandem OLED using $MoO_x$ as p-type material increased up to 3 times than current emission efficiency of single OLED. The Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) 1931 color coordinates were changed by overlapping of 504 nm emission wavelength. As a result, emission efficiency of tandem OLED improved compared with single OLED, but driving voltage also increased by increase of organic layer thickness.
We has been synthesized $(POB)_{2}Ir(pic)$ as a red emitting materials and evaluated in the organic light emitting diodes (OLED). The layer of $Alq_3$ doped with $(POB)_{2}Ir(pic)$ as emitters has been demonstrated. The structure of the device is ITO/ NPB (40 nm) / $Zn(HPB)_2$ (40 nm)/ $Alq_3$ : $(POB)_{2}Ir(pic)$ (30 nm) / LiF / Al. We varied the doped rate of $(POB)_{2}Ir(pic)$. The doped rate is 0.4 %, 0.6%, 0.8 and 1.2%, respectively. When the doped rate of the $Alq_3$:$ Ir(POB)_{2}(pic)$ was 0.6%, white emission is achieved. The Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of the white emission are (0.316, 0.331) at an applied voltage of 10.75V.
This study investigated the effects of infrared (IR) radiation combined with air blast thawing on the physical properties of pork. Regardless of air velocity, increasing IR dosage produced an exponential increase in the thawing rate of pork. This rate increased further when air blast velocity was increased. IR treatments showed significantly lower thawing loss than that of 0 Watt treatment, while increasing air velocity significantly increased thawing loss of pork (p<0.05). Increasing both IR power and air velocity tended to decrease the cooking loss of pork. Moreover, increased IR power tended to decrease the water holding capacity and shear force of pork. The shear force changes were not significant (p>0.05). Shear force also increased with increasing air velocity. In addition, the higher the air velocity the higher the shear force of pork. In Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) colour determination, control of temperature prevented discolouration from overheating of sample surface. The results suggest that IR dosage combined with air blast has potential in thawed meat quality aspects, and that humidity control could prevent surface drying.
We studied optical and electrical properties of two-wavelength white tandem organic light-emitting diodes using red and blue materials. White fluorescent OLEDs were fabricated using Alq3 : Rubrene (3 vol.% 5 nm) / SH-1 : BD-2 (3 vol.% 25 nm) as emitting layer (EML). White single fluorescent OLED showed maximum current efficiency of 9.7 cd/A, and tandem fluorescent OLED showed 18.2 cd/A. Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of single and tandem fluorescent OLEDs was (0.385, 0.435), (0.442, 0.473) at $1,000cd/m^2$, respectively. White hybrid OLEDs were fabricated using SH-1 : BD-2 (3 vol.% 10 nm) / CBP : $Ir(mphmq)_2(acac)$ (2 vol.% 20 nm) as EML. White single hybrid OLED showed maximum current efficiency of 7.8 cd/A, and tandem hybrid OLED showed 26.4 cd/A. Maximum current efficiency of tandem hybrid OLED was more twice as high as single OLED. CIE coordinates of single hybrid OLED was (0.315, 0.333), and tandem hybrid OLED was (0.448, 0.363) at $1,000cd/m^2$. CIE coordinates in white tandem OLEDs compared to those for single OLEDs observed red shift. This work reveals that stacked white OLED showed current efficiency improvement and red shifted emission than single OLED.
