음해법을 이용한 천수방정식의 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of Shallow Water Equation with Fully Implicit Method)

  • 근래 천수방정식과 같은 2차원 수치해석에서 가장 널리 쓰이는 방법 중의 하나로 ADI 방법을 들 수 있다. 그러나 서해안과 같이 수심의 변화가 심하며 특히 해저협곡이 곳곳에 발달된 해역에서 조석에 관한 문제해결시 ADI 방법을 사용하면 소위 ADI 효과가 크게 우려된다. 이를 극복하기 위하여 완전 음해법으로 차분되고 CGS(conjugate gradient squared) 방법으로 해를 구하는 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 조간대 모의가 포함된 본 모형용 새만금 수역에 적용한 결과 지형의 복잡성에도 불구하고 유속장과 조간대 형성에 관한 수치적 모의가 만족스러운 결과를 보였다.

태양전지용CuInSe2와 CuGaSe2 흡수층의 전자구조해석을 위한 표면 청정기술 개발 (Development of Surface Cleaning Techniques for Analysis of Electronics Structure in CuInSe2, CuGaSe2 Solar Cell Absorber Layer)

  • Two kinds of physical treatments were examined for the analysis both of intrinsic surface and interior nature of CuInS $e_2$[CIS] and CuGaS $e_2$[CGS] films grown in separated systems. For the first method, a selenium protection layer which was immediately deposited after the growth of the CIS was investigated. The Se cap layer protects CISe surface from oxidation and contamination during the transport under ambient atmosphere. The Se cap was removed by thermal annealing at temperature above 15$0^{\circ}C$. After the decapping treatment at 2$25^{\circ}C$ for 60 min, ultraviolet photoemission and inverse photoemission measurements of the CIS film showed that its valence band maximum(VBM) and conduction band minimum (CBM) are located at 0.58 eV below and 0.52 eV above the Fermi level $E_{F}$, respectively. For the second treatment, an Ar ion beam etching was exploited. The etching with ion kinetic energy $E_{k}$ above 500 eV resulted in broadening of photoemission spectra of core signals and occasional development of metallic feature around $E_{F}$. These degradations were successfully suppressed by decreasing $E_{k}$ below 400 eV. CGS films etched with the beam of $E_{k}$ = 400 eV showed a band gap of 1.7 eV where $E_{F}$ was almost centered.st centered.

  • In two dimensional incompressible flaws, a preconditioning technique called Hierarchical Iterative Procedure(HIP) has been implemented on a SUPG finite element formulation. By using the SUPG formulation, one can escape from the LBB constraint and hence achieve an equal order formulation. In this paper, we increased the order of interpolation up to cubic. The conjugate gradient squared(CGS) method is used for the outer iteration, and the HIP for the preconditioning for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation. The hierarchical elements has been used to achieve a higher order accuracy in fluid flaw analyses, but a proper efficient iterative procedure for higher order finite element formulation has not been available so far. The numerical results by the present HIP for the lid driven cavity flaw showed the present procedure to be stable, very efficient and useful in flaw analyses in conjunction with hierarchical elements.

  • Substructuring methods are usually used in finite element structural analyses. In this study a multi-level substructuring algorithm is developed and proposed as a possible candidate for incompressible fluid solves. Finite element formulation for incompressible flow has been stabilized by a modified residual procedure proposed by Ilinca et.al.[5]. The present algorithm consists of four stages such as a gathering stage, a condensing stage, a solving stage and a scattering stage. At each level, a predetermined number of elements are gathered and condensed to form an element of higher level. At highest level, each subdomain consists of only one super-element. Thus, the inversion process of a stiffness matrix associated with internal degrees of freedom of each subdomain has been replaced by a sequential static condensation. The global algebraic system arising feom the assembly of each subdomains is solved using Conjugate Gradient Squared(CGS) method. In this case, pre-conditioning techniques usually accompanied by iterative solvers are not needed.

  • In two dimensional incompressible flows, a preconditioning technique called Hierarchical Iterative Procedure(HIP) has been implemented on a stabilized finite element formulation. The stabilization has been peformed by a modified residual method proposed by Illinca et. al.[3]. The stabilization which is necessary to escape from the LBB constraint renders an equal order formulation. In this paper, we increased the order of interpolation whithin an element up to cubic. The conjugate gradient squared(CGS) method is used for the outer iteration, and the HIP for the preconditioning for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation. 변위계수법 및 약산식 내진성능평가에 기초한 비보강 조적조 건물의 내진보강 요구강도 산정 (Strength Demand Calculation for Retrofitting Unreinforced Masonry Buildings Based on the Displacement Coefficient Method and the Preliminary Seismic Evaluation Procedure)

  • Based on the nonlinear static analysis and the approximate seismic evaluation method adopted in "Guidelines for seismic performance evaluation for existing buildings, two methods to calculate strength demand for retrofitting individual structural walls in unreinforced masonry buildings are proposed." The displacement coefficient method to determine displacement demand from nonlinear static analysis results is used for the inverse calculation of overall strength demand required to reduce the displacement demand to a target value meeting the performance objective of the unreinforced masonry building to retrofit. A preliminary seismic evaluation method to screen out vulnerable buildings, of which detailed evaluation is necessary, is utilized to calculate overall strength demand without structural analysis based on the difference between the seismic demand and capacity. A system modification factor is introduced to the preliminary seismic evaluation method to reduce the strength demand considering inelastic deformation. The overall strength demand is distributed to the structural walls to retrofit based on the wall stiffness, including the remaining walls or otherwise. Four detached residential houses are modeled and analyzed using the nonlinear static and preliminary evaluation procedures to examine the proposed method.

New Technique for Surgery of Petrous Apex Cholesterol Granuloma

  • The authors present a new technique for surgery of cholesterol granuloma [CG] at the petrous apex. An epidural middle fossa approach is used to expose and remove the cyst, with silicon tube drainage into the sphenoid sinus via the anterolateral cavernous sinus triangle between the first and second divisions of the trigeminal nerve. This novel method is less invasive skull base approach to the petrous apex and very effective for minimizing recurrence of CGs within the petrous apex.

  • 본(本) 연구(硏究)는 Computer Graphic System(CGS)을 이용한 선상시설물측량(線狀施設物測量)의 설계도면작성(設計圖面作成)에 관한 고안(考案)이다. 본(本) 연구(硏究)를 통(通)하여, 측량설계도면(測量設計圖面)을 작성(作成)할 경우 선(線), 글자 등(等)의 표현방법(表現方法)에 관한 문제점(問題點)을 효과적으로 처리(處理)할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발(開發)하므로써 금후(今後) Computer Aided Design에 기여(寄與)코자 하는데 본(本) 논문(論文)의 의의(意義)를 두고 있다.

Implementation of the VHOE-based Multiview 3D Display System by using Optimized Exposure-Time Scheduling Scheme

  • A new exposure time scheduling scheme to implement the optimized photopolymer-based VHOE is proposed and using this method, the 8-view VHOE system is experimentally developed. The CGS dependence on the exposure energy is mathematically modeled using the fourth-order polynomial function and using this model optimized exposure-time schedule for recording the given multiple gratings in the photopolymer is calculated. In addition, basing on this suggested exposure-time schedule, 8-view VHOE is finally implemented and its performance is discussed.
