Cellular glass foam (CGF), the reprocessed glass, has a possibility to be used as a medium component in plug culture of horticultural crops due to the its excellent air and water permeability as comparable to perlite. An experiment was conducted to investigate growth of plug seedlings of Lycopersicum esculentum 'Segye' as influenced by irrigation frequency in various medium combinations of CGF (2.0-4.0 mm particle size) and peatmoss. Seeds were sown in 200-cell plug trays, filled with mixtures of CGF and peatmoss either at 33:67 or 25:75 (%. v/v) and were germinated on a fogged propagation bed. The irrigation frequencies used were one, two or three times per every two days. A commercial plug medium (Tosilee medium) was used as the control, and the irrigation frequency in the control was one time per day. Growth of seedlings, and medium pH and EC were measured at 33 days after sowing. The medium composition had little influence on overall growth of seedlings. Irrigation frequency very significant affected number of leaves, leaf area, chlorophyll concentration, fresh and dry weights of shoots and roots, and dry matter. Growth of seedlings was the greatest with the highest irrigation frequency in the 25% CGF+75% peatmoss mixture.
The aim of this study was to elucidate the effects of concentrated growth factors (CGFs) on human gingival fibroblasts in vitro. Blood was collected from three male volunteers (average age 27 years). CGFs were prepared using standard protocols. The CGF exudates were collected at the following culture time points: 1, 7, 14, and 21 days. The levels of platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB) and transforming growth factor ${\beta}1$ (TGF-${\beta}1$) in CGFs were quantified. The CGF exudates were then used to culture human gingival fibroblasts. The biologic characteristics of these fibroblasts were analyzed in vitro for 21 days. Platelet-rich plasma released the highest amounts of TGF-${\beta}1$ and PDGF-BB on the first day. The level of TGF-${\beta}1$ had decreased slightly by day 7, although the difference compared to levels at day 1 was not statistically significant. However, by days 14 and 21, levels of TGF-${\beta}1$ had dropped significantly compared to day 1 levels. The levels of PDGF-BB at days 7, 14, and 21 did not differ significantly from that measured on day 1. CGFs maintained the release of autologous growth factors for a reasonable period of time (7 days for TGF-${\beta}1$ and 21 days for PDGF-BB). Gingival fibroblasts treated with CGF exudates collected at day 14 reached peak viability and synthesized type I collagen. Furthermore, the CGF exudates exerted positive effects on the proliferation and differentiation of these cells at days 1, 7, 14, and 21. The findings of this study suggest that treatment with CGFs represents a promising method of enhancing mucosal healing following surgical procedures.

In this paper, an estimating damage on external surface of container using Capsize-Gaussian-Function (be called CGF) is presented. The estimation of the damage size can be get directly from two parameters of CGF, these are the depth and the flexure, also the direction of damage. The performance of the present method has been illustrated using an image of damage container, which had been taken from Hanjin Busan Port, after using image processing techniques to do preprocessing of the image, especially, the main used technique is Canny edge detecting that is widely used in computer vision to locate sharp intensity and to find object boundaries in the image, then correlation between the edge image from the preprocessing step and the CGF with three parameters (direction, depth, flexure), as a result, we get an image that perform damage information, and these parameters is an estimator directly to the damage.
Recently the CGF/SAF (Computer Generated Force / Semi-Automated Force) technology has been getting attention to deal with the increasing complexity in a DM&S(Defence Modeling and Simulation) environment. OneSAF is one of well-known CGF/SAF systems, however, it is not able to support the DEVS framework which is an advanced discrete event based modeling and simulation environment. Especially, most DM&S systems in Korea has been developed on the basis of the DEVS framework. In this paper, we have proposed the agent-based SAF design methodology and tool for supporting DEVS M&S environment. The proposed SAF modeling tool is divided into two parts; the agent modeling part and SAF modeling part. In the agent modeling environment, the modeler can simply create the agent model by writing down the necessary rules. It also provides the agent testing environment so that the modeler maybe conveniently verify the prescribed agent model. The SAF model is finally created by combing the individual agents based on the pre-defined structure. DM&S engineers will be able to employ our tools and modeling methodology to design the DEVS-based DM&S system to be developed.
Modeling and Simulation(M&S) technology gets an attention from various parts such as industry and military. Especially, military uses the technology to cope with a different situation from the one in the Cold War and maximize the effect of training against the cost in the new environment. In order for the training based on M&S technology to be effective, the situations of a battlefield and a combat must be more realistically simulated. For this, a technique development on Computer-Generated Forces(CGF) which represents a unit's simulation logic and a human's simulated behaviors is focused. The CGF simulating a human's behaviors can be used in representing an enemy force, experimenting behaviors in a future war, and developing a new combat idea. This paper describes a methodology to accomplish Computer-Generated Forces' autonomous intelligence. It explains the process of applying a task behavior list based on the METT+T element onto CGFs. On the other hand, in the domain knowledge of military field manual, fuzzy facts such as "fast" and "sufficient" whose real values should be decided by domain experts can be easily found. In order to efficiently implement military simulation logics involved with such subjectivity, using a fuzzy inference methodology can be effective. In this study, a fuzzy inference methodology is also applied.
PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to compare the removal torques of a chemically modified SLActive implant and a blasted, laser-treated (BLT) implant, which were soaked in saline for 2 weeks after their surface modifications. The removal torques of the two implants were measured 4 weeks after their implantation into the bone defect area in rabbit tibias with concentrated growth factor (CGF) application. MATERIALS AND METHODS. To make artificial bone defects in the cortical layers of both tibias, an 8-mm diameter trephine bur was used. Then, prepared CGF was applied to the bony defect of the left tibia, and the bony defect of the right tibia was left unfilled. Four weeks later, the surgical sites of 16 rabbits were re-exposed. For 8 rabbits, the SLActive implants (Straumann, Switzerland) were inserted in the left tibia, and the BLT implants (CSM implant, Daegu, Korea) were inserted in the right tibia. For other rabbits, the BLT implants were inserted in the left tibia, and the SLActive implants were inserted in the right. Four weeks afger the insertion, torque removal was measured from 4 rabbits exterminated via $CO_2$ inhalation. RESULTS. No significant difference was observed between removal torques of the BLT implant and the SLActive implant (P>.05). CONCLUSION. It was found that BLT surface modification exhibited excellent osseointegration. In addition, CGF application did not affect the insertion and removal torque of the implants.

Agent acts for specification purpose, which is common element of CGF (Computer Generated Forces). When basic agent acts as planned, the advanced intelligence agent can do more than this. It can follow predefined actions along appointed script to achieve purpose or lay another plans when it is difficult to achieve. In other words, it can amend plan again or make new plan in order to achieve goals. When plan fails, agent amends oneself, possibly decreases target level to achieve easily. In doing so, the agent calculates a quantitative value for changing plans in realtime, and choose appropriate alternative plans when the threshold value reaches an limit. In this paper, we propose an military system in which the planned action can be modified according to the level of achievement and alternative plans can be generated accordingly.

Military training is an essential item for the fundamental problem of war. However, there has always been a problem that many resources are consumed, causing spatial and environmental pollution. The concepts of defense modeling and simulation and CGF(Computer Generated Force) using computer technology began to appear to improve this problem. The Naval Operations, Resources Analysis Model(NORAM) developed by the Republic of Korea Navy is also a DEVS(Discrete Event Simulation)-based naval virtual force analysis model. The current NORAM is a battle experiment conducted by an operator, and parameter values such as maneuver and armament operation for individual objects for each situation are evaluated. In spite of our research conducted evolutionary, supervised, reinforcement learning, in this paper, we introduce our design of a scenario creation model based on evolutionary learning using genetic algorithms. For verification, the NORAM is loaded with our model to analyze wartime engagements. Human-level tactical scenario creation capability is secured by automatically generating enemy tactical scenarios for human-designed Blue Army tactical scenarios.

Military deception is an action executed to deliberately mislead enemy's decision by deceiving friendly forces intention. In the lessons learned from war history, deception appears to be a critical factor in the battlefield for successful operations. As training using war-game simulation is growing more important, it is become necessary to implement military deception in war-game model. However, there is no logics or rules proven to be effective for CGF(Computer Generated Forces) to conduct deception behavior automatically. In this study, we investigate methodologies for CGF to learn and conduct military deception using Reinforcement Learning. The key idea of the research is to define a new criterion called a "deception index" which defines how agent learn the action of deception considering both their own combat objectives and deception objectives. We choose Korea Marine Corps Amphibious Demonstrations to show applicability of our methods. The study has an unique contribution as the first research that describes method of implementing deception behavior.
Objective: The objective of this experiment was to determine the net energy (NE) content of full-fat rice bran (FFRB), corn germ meal (CGM), corn gluten feed (CGF), solvent-extracted peanut meal (PNM), and dehulled sunflower meal (SFM) fed to growing pigs using indirect calorimetry or published prediction equations. Methods: Twelve growing barrows with an average initial body weight (BW) of $32.4{\pm}3.3kg$ were allotted to a replicated $3{\times}6$ Youden square design with 3 successive periods and 6 diets. During each period, pigs were individually housed in metabolism crates for 16 d, which included 7 days for adaptation. On d 8, the pigs were transferred to the respiration chambers and fed one of the 6 diets at 2.0 MJ metabolizable energy (ME)/$kg\;BW^{0.6}/d$. Total feces and urine were collected and daily heat production was measured from d 9 to d 13. On d 14 and d15, pigs were fed at their maintenance energy requirement level. On the last day pigs were fasted and fasting heat production was measured. Results: The NE of FFRB, CGM, CGF, PNM, and SFM measured by indirect calorimetry method was 12.33, 8.75, 7.51, 10.79, and 6.49 MJ/kg dry matter (DM), respectively. The NE/ME ratios ranged from 67.2% (SFM) to 78.5% (CGF). The NE values for the 5 ingredients calculated according to the prediction equations were 12.22, 8.55, 6.79, 10.51, and 6.17 MJ/kg DM, respectively. Conclusion: The NE values were the highest for FFRB and PNM and the lowest in the corn co-products and SFM. The average NE of the 5 ingredients measured by indirect calorimetry method in the current study was greater than values predicted from NE prediction equations (0.32 MJ/kg DM).
