Effect of Moisture Content on Physical and Chemical Characteristics of Italian Ryegrass Cube (수분 함량이 이탈리안 라이그라스 큐브의 물리적 및 화학적 성상에 미치는 영향)

  • The objective of this study was to determine the effect of moisture content on the physical and chemical characteristics of Italian ryegrass cube. Cube quality according to moisture contents (15, 20, 25, and 30%) was determined. Cubes made with 15 to 20% moisture showed a little cracks. But, the amount of powder generate from these cubes were lower by 10 to 16% compared to other cubes made with 25 to 30% moisture contents. The highest hardness at 159 kg/f was obtained when the cube was made with 15% moisture content and the lowest was 70 kg/f when the cube was made with 30% moisture content. The electrical loading and surface temperature were increased when moisture content was decreased. The chemical compositions of cube were differ from those of raw materials. Crude protein (CP) and ether extract (EE) contents were increased after cubing works. However, crude fiber (CF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), and neutral detergent fiber (NDF) contents were decreased after cubing. The crude ash content was not significantly (p > 0.05) different between raw material and cube. Higher moisture content resulted in higher crude protein content. However, crude fiber and crude ash content were not significantly (p > 0.05) different between each other. The contents of ADF and NDF were the lowest in cubes made with 30% moisture content. Our results suggest that the proper moisture content of Italian ryegrass cubing is recommended to be 15 to 20% and that cubing works should help increase forage quality.

Characterization cf salted Chinese cabbage in relation to salt content, temperature and time (배추절임시 염수농도와 침지온도 및 시간에 따른 특성 변화)

  • When Kimchi is cooked, it is very import to find an appropriate level for the salt content of the cabbage to makes the best tasting Kimchi. Therefore, in this article, attempts were made to find the best salted cabbage condition using difference salt solution concentration, temperatures and fermentation periods. In the experiments with the difference of the salt solutions, 10 and 15%, the salted cabbages were packed in polyethylene bags, and incubated at 10, 15, 20 and 25$^{\circ}C$ for 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 20 hrs. As a result, the best tasting Kimchi, in terms of texture characteristic, were found with storage times of 10 and 6-8 hrs, with salt solution concentrations of 10 and 15%, respectively, both of these at 25$^{\circ}C$. The best conditions, in terms of the kimchi taste characteristics, where 6-10 hrs, with the salt solution concentrations of 10 & 15%. With storage conditions of 10 hrs and a salt solution concentraction of 10%, and 6-8 hrs and a salt solution concentration of 15%, both at 25$^{\circ}C$, the texture characteristics were fresh. clear and coot. Also, the points of the appropriate salt content differ with temperature. Therefore, the appropriate conditions for the salting time, storage temperature and salt solution concentrations will make the best tasting, most nutritious Kimchi, in the least time and most economically.

대면적 플라즈마 공정에서 자장이 내장형 선형 유도결합형 플라즈마 특성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

  • 최근 높은 해상도의 평판 디스플레이 장치 특히 차세대 TFT-LCD를 개발하기 위해서는 건식식각공정의 개발이 필수 불가결하며 이는 플라즈마 공정장치의 대면적화가 가능해야 한다. 따라서 산업계는 이러한 제조 조건에 알맞는 대면적 플라즈마 반응기 개발을 추구하고 있다. 이를 위해서는 건식식각공정의 개발이 필수 불가결하며 이를 위해선 플라즈마 공정장 치의 대면적화가 가능해야 한다. 이러한 대면적 공정을 위해서는 낮은 공정압력, 고밀도, 높은 플라즈마 균일도가 요구된다. 또한 이러한 대면적 고밀도 플라즈마에의 적용을 위하여 새로운 유도결합형 플라즈마 소오스의 개발이 진행되고 있으며, 안정적인 300mm웨이퍼 공정을 위하여 여러 형태의 안테나가 연구되어지고 있다. 그러나 차세대 TFT-LCD에 적용 가 능하게끔 기존의 ICP 소오스를 직접적으로 대면적화 하는데 있어서는 안테나의 인덕턴스의 값이 키지며, 유전물질의 두께 증가 및 그에 따른 재료비의 상슴에 의해 그 한계점을 나타 내었다. 본 연구에서는 차세대 TFT-LCD 및 POP 대면적 공정에 적용 가능한 고밀도 플라즈마를 발생시키기 위해서 내장형 유도결합형 선형 안테나를 사용하였다. 내장형 유도결합형 선형 안테나가 가지고 있는 고유의 정전기적 결합효과를 최소화시키기 위해 직사각형모양의 플라즈마 챔버(830mm*1,020mm)에서 영구자석을 사용하였다. 영구자석을 사용하여 외부자 장을 인가하였을 때가, 그럴지 않은 때보다 RF 안테나에 걸리는 코일의 전압을 낮춰주었으며, 영구자석의 배열에 따라 코일의 인덕턴스의 값이 크게 변함을 알 수 있었다. 그리고, 최적화된 자장의 배열은 플라즈마의 이온밀도를 증가시켰으며, 플라즈마 균일도 또한 10% 이 내로 유지됨을 알 수 있었다. 따른 식각 메커니즘에 대하여 알아보고자 하였다. $CF_4/Cl_2$ gas chemistry 에 첨 가 가스로 $N_2$와 Ar을 첨 가할 경 우 텅 스텐 박막과 하부 layer 간의 etch selectivity 증가는 관찰되지 않았으며, 반면에 첨가 가스로 $O_2$를 사용할 경우, $O_2$의 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 etch s selectivity 는 계속적으로 증가렴을 관찰할 수 있었다. 이는 $O_2$ 첨가에 따라 형성되는 WOF4 에 의한 텅스텐의 etch rates 의 감소에 비하여, $Si0_2$ 등의 형성에 의한 poly-Si etch rates 이 더욱 크게 감소하였기 때문으로 사료된다. W 과 poly-Si 의 식각 특성을 이해하기 위하여 X -ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS)를 사용하였으며, 식각 전후의 etch depth 를 측정하기 위하여 stylus p pmfilometeT 를 이용하였다.X> 피막이 열처리 전후에 보아는 기계적 특성의 변화 양상은 열역학적으로 안정한 Wurzite-AlN의 석출에 따른 것으로 AlN 석출상의 크기에 의존하며, 또한 이러한 영향은 $(Ti_{1-x}AI_{x})N$ 피막에 존재하는 AI의 함량이 높고, 초기에 증착된 막의 업자 크기가 작을 수록 클 것으로 여겨진다. 그리고 환경의 의미의 차이에 따라 경관의 미학적 평가가 달라진 것으로 나타났다.corner$적 의도에 의한 경관구성의 일면을 확인할수 있지만 엄밀히 생각하여 보면 이러한 예의 경우도 최락의 총체적인 외형은 마찬가지로

Breeding on High Lycopene and Beta Carotene with Multi-Disease Resistance in Tomato

  • This study was carried out to breed and develop high quality and functional nutrient tomato with multi disease resistance as well as a stable growing adaptation for fresh market usage under protected plastic houses cultivation. The materials were used 5 inbred lines and their 6 hybrids of large tomato group, which have been bred and developed from 1999 to 2007 in Division of Plant Resource Department of Chungnam National University. Fruit weight showed hybrid vigor effect that $F_1$ hybrids weighed more than their parent lines, fruit shape formed three type of oblate, deep oblate and globe shape, in firmness and pericarp thickness have got a high significant correlation, inbred DN611 line was measured the most firm fruit with 6.04 mm pericarp thickness. In fruit color at maturity, pink color crossed to red color appeared all red fruit color in the $F_1$ hybrids, it means red skin color is a dominant gene compared to pink skin color is a recessive gene in tomato, while between fruit skin color and shoulder part color showed no any co-relationship. The sugar content and titratable acid of $F_1$ hybrids inherited an intermediate data of their parent lines, the flavor of KP543 inbred line and the hybrid (JB535 x KP543) revealed the better taste with high brix and proper titratable acid content$^{*}$. In beta carotene content DN611 line showed 2~3 times higher than other materials so that its 3 hybrids contained an increased level of beta carotene, lycopene content was not so much difference among inbred lines and $F_1$ hybrids, of them MD508 contained higher of 8.72 mg and hybrid (JB535 x JA517) had 8.05 mg lycopene content per 100 g fruit, overall pink skin color and red skin color measured a higher lycopene content than yellow and orange skin color at ripe stage. In disease resistance test by PCR marker for Fusarium race2 (I2), Nematode (Mi1), ToMV ($Tm2^2$), Cladosporium (Cf9), (JB535 x JA517) hybrid have got multi-resistance with homozygote band in Nematode, ToMV, Cladosporium and heterozygote band in Fusarium race2. Through this breeding program we could select high quality and functional nutrient with multi resistant $F_1$ hybrids and inbred lines in tomato which are two best hybrids (JB535 x MD508), (JB535 x JA517), additionally developed high beta carotene inbred line DN611 and increased the level of lycopene inbred line MD508. These results will be very useful to make a high quality tomato variety continuously.

Anti-irritation and Moisturizing Effects of Exopolysaccharide Produced by Grifola frondosa (잎새버섯이 생산하는 세포외 다당체의 보습력과 자극완화 효과)

  • We investigated the effects of skin hydration and anti-irritation of exopolysaceharide (GF-glucan) produced from submerged culture of Grifola frondosa. The moisturizing effects and trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL) of GF-glucan in cosmetic products (O/W emulsion) were clinically studied. GF-glucan showed good skin hydration effects when compared with sodium hyaluronate which is a commonly using moisturizer. The skin protective effects of GF-glucan against sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) were also found. Twice a day application of the CF-glucan to skin reduced local inflammation remarkably. Irritant reactions were assessed by various aspects of skin function, erythema (skin color reflectance), hydration (electrical capacitance) and TEWL. In the human skin test, 5-day treatment of the GF-glucan was found to reduce SLS-induced skin erythema and Improve bier regeneration. Taken all together, GF-glucan should be a very useful cosmetic ingredient, as a moisturizer, and a protecting agent for various skin irritations.

Effect of Fertilizer Applications on the Morphology and the Pharmaceutical Components of Paeonia albiflora Palls (시비관리(施肥管理)에 따른 작약(芍藥)(Paeonia albiflora Palls) 생육특성(生育特性)과 유효성분(有效成分) 연구(硏究))

  • This study was intended to find out the effect of the fertilizer applications on the changes of the morphology, yield and effective components -Paeonol, Benzoic acid, Oxypaeoniflorin, Albiflorin and Paeoniflorin- of Paeonia albiflora Palls. The treatments of the field experiment were designed as follows ; conventional fertilization(R), organic fertilization(OF), chemcial fertiliazation(CF), combination of organic and chemical fertilization(OCF), and 50% and 100% increase of the chemcial fertilizers in combination treatments (OCF-50, OCF-100). The results obtained were summarized as follows ; 1. Depending on the treatments, the changes of the growth characteristics of the aboveground part were not significant, but the yield of the root had a significance on OCF-100. 2. The large quantities of effective components in Paeonia albiflora Palls were increased from the first year to the second year. 3. The excess phosphate application in the conventional fertilization affected to decrease the root yield and the effective components in its root. 4. The organic fertilizer was more favorable to the yield and the contents of the effective components of Paeonia albiflora Palls than the chemical fertilizer. OCF-50 and OCF-100 had higher values of yield and the amounts of the effective components than the treatments of the organic fertilizers.

Distribution and Molecular Phylogeny of the Toxic Benthic Dinoflagellate Ostreopsis sp. in the Coastal Waters off Jeju Island, Korea (춘계 제주 연안에서 유독 저서성 와편모류 Ostreopsis sp.의 분포와 분자계통학적 위치)

  • We investigated occurrence and molecular phylogeny of the toxic epiphytic dinoflagellate Ostreopsis at seven sampling sites in the coastal waters off Jeju Island of Korea in April, 2017. During the sampling period, surface water temperature ranged from 15.7 to $18.3^{\circ}C$ and salinity was relatively constant, ranging from 33.4 to 34.9. Of a total of 13 macroalgal species collected from all sampling sites, Ostreopsis cells were observed from 8 macroalgal species and the highest cell abundance ($157.5cells\;g^{-1}$) was recorded on the red alga Grateloupia filicina at St. 6. LSU rDNA D8/D10 sequences of all Korean Ostreopsis strains isolated from the 4 sampling sites were 100% identical. Molecular phylogentic analyses (BI and ML) inferred from LSU rDNA alignment showed that the Korean Ostreopsis strains placed into the previously described the Ostreopsis sp. 1 clade, which contained strains isolated from the temperate coastal waters of Japan. The Korean Ostreopsis sp. 1 strain grew in a wide range of temperature ($10-30^{\circ}C$) and salinity (25-30), with its maximum growth rate of $0.49d^{-1}$ at $25^{\circ}C$ and salinity of 30, indicating that they can be tolerated in temperate areas.

Assessment of Heavy Metal Pollution in Surface Sediments of the Yeongsan River (영산강 수계 표층 퇴적물의 금속류 분포 및 오염도 평가)

  • The particle sizes and heavy metal concentrations (Pb, Zn, Cu, Cd, Hg, As, Cr, Ni, Li, Al) of surface sediments of the Yeongsan River were analyzed to assess the distribution and pollution level of heavy metals. The distribution of particle sizes was dominated by sand in the upstream sites (MS1-MS7) and by silt loam in the downstream sites (MS8-ML3), but MS3 and MS6, located slightly upstream of the two weirs, were found to be loamy sand and silt loam, respectively. The concentrations of Pb, Zn, Cu, Cd and Hg were higher at the upstream sites, while As, Cr, Ni and Li were higher at the downstream sites. The heavy metals of crustal origin (As, Cr, Ni and Li) were strongly correlated with particle size, while the other heavy metals (Pb, Zn, Cu, Cd and Hg) were weakly correlated with particle size. Considering their concentrations, most of heavy metals were evaluated as having almost no toxic effects on benthic organisms, at all sites. In addition, anthropogenic contamination by the $I_{geo}$, EF and CF were found to have no impact at most sites, with only low levels of pollution at the others. Using the PLI method, the MS2 and MS3 sites, located upstream, were assessed to be affected by anthropogenic contamination. Most importantly, Zn, Cu and Hg were found to be the elements responsible for most pollution, and they were highest at the upstream sites, implying pollution by domestic sewage and urban discharge.

Corrosion Behaviors of TiN Coated Dental Casting Alloys (TiN피막 코팅된 치과주조용 합금의 부식거동)

  • Corrosion behaviors of TiN coated dental casting alloys have been researched by using various electrochemical methods. Three casting alloys (Alloy 1: 63Co-27Cr-5.5Mo, Alloy 2: 63Ni-16Cr-5Mo, Alloy 3: 63Co-30Cr-5Mo) were prepared for fabricating partial denture frameworks with various casting methods; centrifugal casting(CF), high frequency induction casting(HFI) and vacuum pressure casting(VP). The specimens were coated with TiN film by RF-magnetron sputtering method. The corrosion behaviors were investigated using potentiostat (EG&G Co, 263A. USA) in 0.9% NaCl solution at $36.5{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. The corrosion morphologies were analyzed using FE-SEM and EDX. Alloy 1 and Alloy 2 showed the ${\alpha}-Co$ and ${\varepsilon}-Co$ phase on the matrix, and it was disappeared in case of TiN coated Alloy 1 and 2. In the Alloy 3, $Ni_2Cr$ second phases were appeared at matrix. Corrosion potentials of TiN coated alloy were higher than that of non-coated alloy, but current density at passive region of TiN coated alloy was lower than that of non-coated alloy. Pitting corrosion resistances were increased in the order of centrifugal casting, high frequency induction casting and vacuum pressure casting method from cyclic potentiodynamic polarization test.

The Most Efficient Extension Field For XTR (XTR을 가장 효율적으로 구성하는 확장체)

  • XTR is a new method to represent elements of a subgroup of a multiplicative group of a finite field GF( $p^{6m}$) and it can be generalized to the field GF( $p^{6m}$)$^{[6,9]}$ This paper progress optimal extention fields for XTR among Galois fields GF ( $p^{6m}$) which can be aplied to XTR. In order to select such fields, we introduce a new notion of Generalized Opitimal Extention Fields(GOEFs) and suggest a condition of prime p, a defining polynomial of GF( $p^{2m}$) and a fast method of multiplication in GF( $p^{2m}$) to achieve fast finite field arithmetic in GF( $p^{2m}$). From our implementation results, GF( $p^{36}$ )longrightarrowGF( $p^{12}$ ) is the most efficient extension fields for XTR and computing Tr( $g^{n}$ ) given Tr(g) in GF( $p^{12}$ ) is on average more than twice faster than that of the XTR system on Pentium III/700MHz which has 32-bit architecture.$^{[6,10]/ [6,10]/6,10]}$
