This paper, we present the evaluation of outage probability on the SNR under the overlapped carrier allocation scheme in the reverse link with imperfect power control of a cellular CDMA system, which is base on using Gaussian approximation. In numerical results, the band limited pulse generated by square-root of raised consin pulse shaping filters (SRRC) of the transmitted signal is investigated and compared in conventional FD/CDMA and OC-CDMA of the outage probability. It will be also show that the outage probability can be improved by overlapping of carriers. We use error statistics to model the intra-cell interference and evaluate the impact of different mobiles velocity and number of resolvable paths on the system performance.

CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) is a promising air interface technique for digital cellular systems. The soft handoff between base stations is one of many important features of CDMA for the mobile stations crossing the cell boundaries. The service areas of MSC's (Mobile Switching Centers) are defined as the unions of the service areas of the base stations connected to MSC's and are assumed to have hexagonal shapes. An analytical approach to the performance analysis of the link between MSC's for supporting the inter-MSC soft handoff scheme will be developed to obtain the probability that a soft handoff to an adjacent MSC will be blocked due to the shortage of the link capacity. Also, the rate of new connection establishments that are requested by the mobile stations moving to the service area of an MSC according to the inter-MSC soft handoff scheme will be obtained.

To deal with the emergency of the solitary aged people, we have developed a collapse-sensing phone, in which a collapse sensor, a GPS receiving chipset and a CDMA sending chipset are included. The general cellular phone is somewhat expensive communication device using sound and characters, but the collapse-sensing phone is a cheaper and popular version. If the collapse sensor recognizes a certain of collapse of the aged people, CDMA sending chipset will send the location of the phone which is received from satellite by GPS receiving chipset. In this paper, a collapse recognition algorithm which is developed by using much experimental data, will be introduced to explain how to recognize the real collapse from fast sitting or immediate standing after collapse. Once a true collapse is ecognized, the phone-ID and the coordinate will be sent to the server of administrative office via CDMA network. And the position of emergency will be displayed on the GIS with the rescue center.

본 논문에서는 계층적 구조를 가진 CDMA 셀룰러 시스템에서 여러 가지 자원 공유 방식들 중 주파수 공유 방식과 주파수 분할 방식의 용량을 순방향 링크에 대해 분석 비교하였다. 용량 분석은 마이크로셀 반경 및 마이크로셀 클러스터의 위치 및 매크로셀에 대한 마이크로셀의 전력 비를 고려하여 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션을 통해 수행하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과로부터 각각의 자원 공유 방식들에 대해 이러한 영향들을 분석하였고, 일반적인 설계 접근방식을 제시하였다. 또한 자원공유방식들의 성능을 용량평면도를 통해 비교하였다. 결과를 요약하면, 계층적 구조를 가진 CDMA 셀룰러 시스템에서 스펙트럼 공유 방식을 적용할 경우 순방향 링크의 용량을 최대로 하기 위해서는 마이크로셀 클러스터가 매크로셀의 중심으로부터 멀리 배치하고, 마이크로셀의 반경을 작게 하는 것이 바람직함을 알 수 있었다.

셀룰라 이동 통신 시스템에서 신호의 페이딩은 시스템의 용량 확장에 영향을 미친다. 단기 페이딩은 시스템의 무선 통신 방식에 따라 다른 신호 처리 방식으로 보상이 가능하나, 장기 페이딩은 이와는 다른 보상 방법이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 장기 페이딩을 극복하기 위해 분산 안테나를 이용한 Simulcasting 기법을 적용하여 DS-CDMA 시스템에서 호처리 실험을 하였다. 실험의 결과 하나의 셀 내에 분산 안테나의 수가 많을수록 새로운 호의 차단 확률과 handoff을 요구하는 호의 강제 종료 확률이 감소함을 관찰할 수 있었다.

핸드폰 진단시스템의 경우에는 원천기술이 Qualcom차에 의존적이기 때문에 Qualcom사에서 제공되어지는 핸드폰 진단 프로그램을 국내 업체들이 기술이전을 통해서 자사 핸드폰에 적당하게 수정되어 사용하고 있다. 하지만 그 기능이 한정적이기 때문에 사용에 많은 불편함이 있다. 본 논문에서 구현한 핸드폰 진단시스템은 이러한 Qualcom DM 스펙의 미공개와 국내 기술부진 때문에 초래한 문제의 해결점으로 스펙의 개발단계부터 구현까지 하여 단말기의 소프트웨어 개발을 위한 테스트 장비로 사용될 수 있으며 단말기의 고장과 진단을 빠르고 쉽게 할 수 있다. 또한 향후 프로토콜의 보완, 수정, 발전에 능동적으로 대처할 수 있는 연구를 수행하였다.

This appendix deals with the Korean air interface standard, TTA-62, for CDMA Mobile Systems, (CMS) [1]-[2]. The standard has been set up by Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) which is a standardization organization in Korea [3]. This standard is an important specification that should be determined prior to the development of a digital cellular system. The CMS has been developed on the basis of this standard and the papers published in this special issue are the results of the CMS development. This appendix also describes the technical commonality of these papers. It covers the outline of the air interface and protocol specifications. The outline includes its major characteristics, radio protocol architecture, functionalties, and call processing. A comparison is also given between TTA-62 and IS-95[4], a North American digital cellular standard.

본 논문은 LTE-Advanced 시스템에서 셀룰러 상향링크 자원을 재사용하여 단말간 직접 통신 (D2D)을 수행하는 방법에 대해서 다룬다. 기존 문헌들은 일반적으로 D2D 송신 단말이 SC-FDMA 기법을 적용하여 데이터를 전송하는 것을 가정한다. 그러나, 기존 방법에서는 단말 신호들 간의 간섭 신호를 제거할 수 있는 방법이 거의 없기 때문에, 셀룰러 상향링크 통신 신호가 D2D 링크에 미치는 간섭이 큰 경우에는 D2D 통신을 적용할 수 없게 된다. 본 논문에서는 이런 경우에도 D2D 통신이 가능하도록 하기 위하여 D2D 송신 단말이 다중반송파 주파수분할 다중접속 (MC-CDMA) 기술을 적용하여 데이터를 전송하는 것을 제안한다. 또한, D2D 수신 단말에서는 최소 평균 제곱오차 (MMSE) 수신기를 적용함으로써 간섭 신호를 제거하는 것을 제안한다. 모의실험을 통해서 제안하는 방법이 기존 방법보다 더 우수한 BER 성능을 갖는다는 것을 보인다.

In this paper, the Eigen-RAKE receiver in wideband direct sequence code-division multiple access(DS-CDMA) systems with downlink smart antenna is analyzed for different spreading bandwidths(1.25 MHz, 5 MHz, 10 MHz) and different channel environments(macro, micro). The realistic spatio-temporal wideband multipath channel is assumed, one of which is standardized multiple-input single-output(MISO) radio channel model for WCDMA link-level simulations proposed by $3^{rd}$ generation partnership project(3GPP) contributions. We assumed spatial scattering phenomenon in which many unresolvable path signals within a limited range of spatial angle simultaneously contribute to the signals received at the receiver. Several multipaths within one chip are distinguished into each one and the first multipath components are selected as the desired signal and the others are considered self-interference. Downlink DS-CDMA system with eigenbeamformer using wider bandwidth present better performance than that using narrow bandwidth system by employing Eigen-RAKE receiver of many number of branches. It is shown that the downlink eigenbeamformer is more effective in typical urban macro cellular environments when using Eigen-RAKE receiver.

원격 영상전송 장치는 안전상의 문제가 있거나 사람이 갈 수 없는 곳을 관찰하기 위해 로봇 기술과 영상전송 기술을 결합한 것이다. 최근 원격 제어를 위해 웹서버와 로봇간 유선 및 RF를 이용한 제어 장치들이 개발되고 있지만, 작동 거리 및 인터넷 라인을 설치해야 하는 제한점이 있으며, 무선 방식의 통신장비를 이용할 경우 무선 라우터의 가격이 고가라는 문제가 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 CDMA 셀룰러 폰 통신망을 이용하여 영상전송 및 영상전송 장치를 원격으로 제어할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하였으며, 개발된 시스템은 기존의 무선동신(RF)을 이용한 영상 전송시의 단점인 거리 제한 문제와 인터넷을 이용한 영상전송시의 문제를 해결할 수 있었고, 현재의 통신망을 비롯한 제한된 조건하에서 최적의 영상 및 음성을 전송할 수 있었다.
