A New Channel Reservation Scheme for Soft Handoff Algorithms in Wireless Networks (무선망에서 소프트 핸드오프 알고리즘을 위한 새로운 대역폭 예약 기법)

  • The mobility prediction algorithm and the channel reservation scheme have been reported as an effective means to provide QoS guarantees and the efficient resource reservation in wireless networks. Among these prediction algorithms, the recently proposed Detailed-ZMHB algorithm makes use of the history of the user's positions within the current cell to predict the next cell, which provides the better prediction accuracy than the others. The handoff prioritizing schemes are proposed to provide improved performance at the expense of an increase in the blocking probability of new calls. In the soft handoff of the CDMA systems, a mobile can communicate via two adjacent cells simultaneously for a while before the actual handoff takes place. In this paper, we propose a new channel reservation scheme making use of the user mobility pattern information in order to reduce the call dropping probability. Our results show that the proposed scheme gives about 67.5-71.1$\%$ lower call dropping probability, compared to the existing scheme.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 음질 평가 방법들보다 우수할 뿐 아니라 다양한 채널 경로의 음성 신호에 대해서도 일관된 성능을 갖는 새로운 음질 평가 방법 PLP-CMS(Perceptual Linear Predictive-Cepstral Mean Subtraction)를 제안한다. CDMA PCS 이동 전화 환경에서 음성 신호의 주관적 음질을 효과적으로 예측할 수 있는 PLP-CMS는 심리 음향 선형 예측 분석(PLP Analysis: Perceptual Linear Predictive Analysis)을 이용하여 주관적 음질과의 상관 관계를 높였으며, 겝스트럼 평균 차감(CMS: Cepstral Mean Subtraction) 과정을 통하여 PSTN 경로에 무관하게 일관된 성능을 갖음을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, we suggested new network architecture to provide seamless service between the cellular system and new wireless broadband network such as IEEE 802.16e, called WiBro. The interworking technologies are very important issue because mobile operator should provide service connectivity between various wireless networks based on different access technologies. Moreover a change and modification on legacy network should be minimized for providing interworking with new wireless broad-band network. We implemented proposed interworking architecture between 3G cellular network and 802.16e network to provide seamless service including interworking unit in real test environment. Also, we performed performance evaluation in hybrid network environments.

  • In this Paper, a back propagation neural network learning algorithm based on the complex multilayer perceptron is represented for controling and detecting interference of the received signals in cellular mobile communication system. We proposed neural network adaptive correlator which has fast convergence rate and good performance with combining back propagation neural network and the receiver of cellular. We analyzed and proved that NNAC has lower bit error probability than that of traditional RAKE receiver through results of computer simulation in the presence of the tone and narrow - band interference and the co-channel interference.

  • 휴대 인터넷은 이동 중에도 무선으로 고속의 데이터 송수신이 가능한 통신 서비스로서 우리나라에서는 WiBro(Wireless Broadband)라고 명명되어 2006년 6월 상용 서비스를 시작하였다. 한국 정보 통신 기술협회(TTA)와 IEEE802.16e 표준에서 제시된 휴대인터넷 서비스는 기본적으로 기지국과 단말을 기반으로 한 CDMA통신 시스템과 유사한 셀룰러 망 구조를 가지고 있다. 와이브로에서 모든 RAS(Radio Access Station)는 매 5msec마다 프레임을 전송하고, 이 프레임의 앞 단에는 Preamble이 위치하고 있어 기지국과 단말의 Synchronization을 가능케 해준다. 각 RAS는 서로 다른 Preamble을 사용하므로 단말은 Preamble detection을 통해 기지국을 구분할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 휴대인터넷을 이용한 무선측위의 해상도 및 가청성을 현장실험을 통하여 분석한다. 현재 상용화 되어 사용중인Wibro 신호를 기저대역으로 낮추고 이 신호를 디지타이저를 사용하여 20MHz의 샘플링 주파수로 수집한다. 5msec 주기의 Wibro프레임 중에서 Preamble을 Correlation detection 기법을 사용하여 기지국과 단말 사이의 relative delay를 측정하여 기지국들과 단말 사이의 거리의 차를 구한다. 거리측정치를 이용하여 Wibro 망에서의 무선측위 추정치를 구하고 해상도와 정확도 및 가청성 등의 Wibro의 측위성능을 분석한다.

  • Cellular operators develop high speed mobile internet and multi-function cellular phones to activate new business model based on mobile internet services. Domestic cellular operators evolve their mobile networks from cdma2000-1x and EvDo to HSDPA to activate high speed mobile internet services. They also develop mobile internet platforms such as WIPI, BREW, and J2ME on multi-function cellular phones having multimedia solutions such as camera, MP3, MPEG, 3D game engine, DMB, PAN such as bluetooth, IrDA, W-LAN, and location information using GPS. But, content providers have problems of redevelopment of the same mobile internet application on different mobile internet platforms provided by cellular operators. In this paper, we develop conversion solutions for interoperability of mobile internet applications on WIPI and BREW using an one-pass compiler. We confirm the performance the proposed conversion solutions for the API conversion rate, the converted file size, and the full conversion time using the popular mobile games which are the killer applications on WiPI and BREW.

  • In emergency cases, such as the severe trauma involving the fracture of skull, spine, or cervical bone, from auto accident or a fall, and/or pneumothorax which can not be diagnosed exactly by the eye examination, it is necessary the radiological examination during transferring to the hospital for emergency care. The aim of this study was to design and evaluate the prototype of mobile medical image communication system based on CDMA 1X EVDO. The system consists of a laptop computer used as a transmit DICOM client, linked with cellular phone which support to the CDMA 1X EVDO communication service, and a receiving DICOM server installed in the hospital. The DR images were stored with DICOM format in the storage of transmit client. Those images were compressed into JPEG2000 format and transmitted from transmit client to the receiving server. All of those images were progressively transmitted to the receiving server and displayed on the server monitor. To evaluate the image quality, PSNR of compressed image was measured. Also, several field tests had been performed using commercial CDMA2000 1X-EVDO reverse link with the TCP/IP data segments. The test had been taken under several velocity of vehicle in seoul areas.

  • 구급차에서는 위급한 상황의 환자를 이송할 시에 적절한 응급조치가 필요로 하고 환자의 상태에 맞는 조치를 취하여야 한다. 그러나 모든 구급차에 의사가 상주 할 수 없음으로 CDMA 망을 이용하여 원격지의 의사가 원격의료가 가능한 시스템을 제안한다. 낮은 전송속도에서 효율적으로 중요한 의학적 정보를 전송할 수 있는 원격 응급 의료 시스템이 개발된다면 의료기관에 상주하는 의사와 데이터를 송수신하는 시간도 단축할 수 있으며, 응급상황 발생시 대처를 하지 못하거나 하는 경우를 예방할 수 있어 환자 이송 시에 상당한 효과가 있으리라 판단된다.

  • 텔레매틱스 무선접속기술은 텔레매틱스 단말기와 텔레매틱스 서비스 사업자간 정보를 전달하기 위한 무선채널을 제공하는, CDMA 기반으로 활용되고 있다. 또한 다양한 텔레매틱스 서비스를 제공하기 위해 DSRC, WLAN, DMB 기술이 활용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 텔레매틱스 서비스를 제공 받기를 원할 때 그 서비스를 제공할 서버를 발견할 수 있고 서비스 위치탐색 기능을 제공할 수 있는 Ad-hoc 이라는 환경에서 다양한 텔레매틱스 서비스를 할 수 있는 네트워크 모델을 Ad-hoc 망을 적용해서 효율적으로 무선 네트워크 접속을 할 수 있는 텔레매틱스 네트워크 모델을 제안하고자 한다

  • The purpose of this study was to survey a development of the wireless transmission system of medical images for ubiquitous medicine. There have been many changes in medical equipments and medical record medical treatment and medical record within hospital and PACS(Picture Archiving Communication System) which is picture management system for patients can be typical cases. It is difficult to use these automated medical systems unless they are within hospital and in case of rapid image reading in the emergency cases or in absence of doctor, it is difficult to perform it immediately. The present study implemented an image transmission system using CDMA connection so that images in the server can be viewed at any time and in any place. Remote wireless diagnosis based on medical images using PDA is applicable to medical areas that require mobility, and the use of PDA can be an ideal alternative for point of care. The use of PDA enables prompt and accurate access to digital medical images, which in turn reduces medical accidents and improves the quality of medical services through high productivity and efficiency of medical practitioners' works. It also enables quick response to patients' demands and high-quality medical services and, consequently, patients' high satisfaction.
