  • In a complex, secure IT system environment there will be groups of data that be segregated from one another, yet reside on the same system. Users of the system will have varying degrees of access to specific data. The Configuration Management(CM) of the information architecture, the physical architecture, user privileges and application security policies increases the complexity for operations, maintenance and security staff. This pager describes(current work to merge the capabilities of a network CM toll with those of a Computer Aided System Engineering(CASE) tool. The rigour of Systems Engineering(SE) modelling techniques can be used to deal with the complexities of multi-level information security. The SE logical and physical models of the same system are readily tailorable to document the critical components of both the information architecture and physical architecture that needs to be managed. Linking a user-friendly, physical CM tool with the extended capabilities of a CASE tool provide the basis for improved configuration management of secure IT systems.

  • In case of hard turning, tool wear is acclerated by heat. So we intend to decrease tool wear by using an air-jet cooling system. Before constructing the air-jet cooling system, no chipping conditions were selected through a statistical method, so called 'Taguchi method', and then the air-jet cooling system was developed by synthesizing and analyzing the results of experimental data through Taguchi method. The air-jet cooling system actually reduced flank wear of TiN coated tool by 25%.

  • Component-Based Development(CBD) leverages software reusability and diminishes development costs. Various works about component models, such as EJB, COM, and CCM are in progress to support CBD. However, current component models hardly support flexible assembly of pre-built components. To cope with this problem, architecture for component assembly must be defined in the abstract level and the gap between system architecture and its implementation should be diminished in the implementation level. This paper proposes a method for architecture-based design and implementation of component assembly. Architecture is described by the ADL, and the tool, COBALT Assembler, is introduced to support the proposed design and implementation phase of component assembly.

  • Today's universities have a keen interest in educational reform. The issue of population decline in college-age due to population decline is not new. Universities have been developing quantitatively for a long time and are now considering ways to survive rather than qualitative growth. Since the sharp decline in the school-age population due to the population decline has no clear solution immediately, universities are overcoming this crisis by creating many alternatives. Attracting international students is one of them. In this study, the effectiveness of photovoice was examined through the analysis of the case of the Korean-Japanese convergence cartoon class. The photo-voice method has sufficient potential as a teaching method for foreign convergence classes and can be expected to play a role as a teaching method suitable for students participating in convergence classes with different social, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds. In particular, in the convergence class, since participating students generate research materials through photo production, it can be a tool for inner exploration necessary for webtoon production and a tool for narrative inquiry for storytelling. It is expected that expanding the understanding and use of photo voice will have the methodological value of convergence classes. In addition, the teaching method using photo voice produced in the composition of photos and stories is likely to be used as an appropriate tool for convergence classes for students with different social, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.

  • In this paper, experimental studies of the regrinding of tungsten carbide (WC-Co) tools for high-speed machining were conducted. Regrinding and a subsequent evaluation test were carried out for a flat endmill tool with diameters of 10 mm and 3 mm using a CNC five-axis tool grinder and a CNC three-axis machining center. Tool wear on the two types of endmill tools increased as the cutting length increased, and the tool wear was not influenced by the regrinding state. In case of the micro endmill with a tool diameter of 3 mm, the effective regrinding time was determined for a flank wear threshold of 0.3 mm considering the tool life according to cutting length. The tool lives of the 10 mm and 3 mm endmill tools were increased by 80% and 72%, respectively. This conclusion proves the Feasibility of the recycling of tungsten carbide materials in the high-speed machining of high-hardened materials for industrial applications.

  • There has been considerable activity in recent years in developing timing analysis algorithms for distributed real-time control systems. However, it is difficult for control engineers to analyze the timing behavior of distributed real-time control systems because the algorithms was developed in a software engineer's position and the calculation of the algorithm is very complex. Therefore, there is a need to develop a timing analysis tool, which can handle the calculation complexity of the timing analysis algorithms in order to help control engineers easily analyze or develop the distributed real-time control systems. In this paper, an interactive timing analysis tool, called RAT (Response-time Analysis Tool), is introduced. RAT can perform the schedulability analysis for development of distributed real-time control systems. The schedulability analysis can verify whether all real-time tasks and messages in a system will be completed by their deadlines in the system design phase. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of end-to-end scheduling, RAT can perform the schedulability analysis for series of tasks and messages in a precedence relationship.

  • In this research, KP-4, one of the plastic mold steels, was coated with the AlTiN from one layer to four layers by the PVD method in the $\Phi$ 8mm cemented carbide ball end mill. Coated KP-4 was processed with various conditions. For example, slope of $15^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$ the spindle rotation speed was changed from 10,000rpm to 16,000rpm, the tool feeding speed was changed from 1,300mm/min to 1,700mm/min, the depth of cut was also changed from 0.3mm to 0.9mm, and etc. Cutting component force according to the coating layer number, and surface roughness were studied. The cutting component force showed a good agreement better the up ward direction than the down ward direction under all experimental conditions. In case of the condition per the material shape, it was lessen when the tool have larger angle because the average effective diameter of the tool is larger. The surface roughness showed good condition in case of the up ward than the down ward direction. And, in the 3rd layer of AlTiN coating, it showed the most suitable condition.

  • This research suggests that the Design Quality Indicator for School(DQIfS) could be applied on the education facilities construction process not only as a building design assessment tool, but also as a participation tool. From the analyze of the background, the aims, the implementation processes and the case studies of the DQIfS, the results are: 1. DQI was formulated with the social requirement for the public participation in the public building design processes.; 2. DQI was articulated with the aim to involve the wide range of the stakeholders in the design processes, to hear the various opinions of the stakeholders, and to apply these opinions in the planning or the decision-making processes.; 3. In the implementation stage, it was found that the implementation methods of the DQIfS was devised to involve the wide range of the stakeholders. Moreover, the DQIfS has transformed its representation way to convey the results to the stakeholders and make a base for the discussion. 4. Through the case studies, it was found that the DQIfS was used with various participatory planning methods in the implementation process. Furthermore, the DQIfS was used as a main method to provide the basis of the discussion about the educational facility design. Thus, it could be concluded that DQIfS is a specialized participation tool for making participatory processes in the educational building design processes.

  • Object-oriented programming is often touted as promoting software reuse. However it is recognized that objected-oriented software often need to be restructured before it can be reused. refactoring is the process that changes the software structure to make it more reusable, easier to maintain and easire to be enhanced wit new functionalities. This paper desirbes experience gained and lessons learned from restructuring OODesigner, a Computer Aided Software Engineering(CASE) tool that supports Objects Modeling Technique(OMT). this tool supports a wide range of features such as constructing object modeler of OMT, managing information repository, documenting class resources, automatical generating C++ and java code, reverse engineering of C++ and Java cod, searching and reusing classes in the corresponding repository and collecting metrics data. although the version 1.x was developed using OMT(i.e the tool has been designed using OMT) and C++, we recognized that the potential maintenance problem originated from the ill-designed class architecture. Thus this version was totally restructured, resulting in a new version that is easier to maintain than the old version. In this paper, we briefly describe its restructuring process, emphasizing the fact that the Refactoring of the tool is conducted using the tool itself. Then we discuss lessons learned from these processes and we exhibit some comparative measurements of the developed version.

  • With the spread of smart manufacturing, one of the key topics of the 4th industrial revolution, manufacturing systems are moving beyond automation to smartization using artificial intelligence. In particular, in the existing automatic machining, a number of machining defects and non-processing occur due to tool damage or severe wear, resulting in a decrease in productivity and an increase in quality defect rates. Therefore, it is important to measure and predict tool life. In this paper, ν-ASVR (ν-Asymmetric Support Vector Regression), which considers the asymmetry of ⲉ-tube and the asymmetry of penalties for data out of ⲉ-tube, was proposed and applied to the tool wear prediction problem. In the case of tool wear, if the predicted value of the tool wear amount is smaller than the actual value (under-estimation), product failure may occur due to tool damage or wear. Therefore, it can be said that ν-ASVR is suitable because it is necessary to overestimate. It is shown that even when adjusting the asymmetry of ⲉ-tube and the asymmetry of penalties for data out of ⲉ-tube, the ratio of the number of data belonging to ⲉ-tube can be adjusted with ν. Experiments are performed to compare the accuracy of various kernel functions such as linear, polynomial. RBF (radialbasis function), sigmoid, The best result isthe use of the RBF kernel in all cases
