혐기 발효 공정을 통한 음식물류 폐기물 탈리액으로부터 수소 생산 (Dark Fermentative Hydrogen Production using the Wastewater Generated from Food Waste Recycling Facilities)

  • The authors examined the effects of operating parameters on the $H_2$ production by dark fermentation of the wastewater generated from food waste recycling facilities, in short "food waste wastewater (FWW)". Central composite design based response surface methodology was applied to analyze the effect of initial pH (5.5-8.5) and substrate concentration (2-20 g Carbo. COD/L) on $H_2$ production. The experiment was conducted under mesophilic ($35^{\circ}C$) condition and a heat-treated ($90^{\circ}C$ for 20min)anaerobic digester sludge was used as a seeding source. Although there was a little difference in carbohydrate removal, $H_2$ yield was largely affected by the experimental conditions, from 0.38 to 1.77 mol $H_2$/mol $hexose_{added}$. By applying regression analysis, $H_2$ yield was well fitted based on the coded value to a second order polynomial equation (p = 0.0243): Y = $1.78-0.17X_1+0.30X_2+0.37X_1X_2-0.29X_1{^2}-0.35X_2{^2}$, where $X_1$, $X_2$, and Y are pH, substrate concentration (g Carbo. COD/L), and hydrogen yield (mol $H_2$/mol $hexose_{added}$), respectively. The 2-D response surface clearly showed a high inter-dependency between initial pH and substrate concentration, and the role of these two factors was to control the pH during fermentation. According to the statistical optimization, the optimum condition of initial pH and substrate concentration were 7.0 and 13.4 g Carbo. COD/L, respectively, under which predicted $H_2$ yield was 1.84 mol $H_2$/mol $hexose_{added}$. Microbial analysis using 16S rRNA PCR-DGGE showed that $Clostridium$ sp. such as $Clostridium$ $perfringens$, $Clostridium$ $sticklandii$, and $Clostridium$ $bifermentans$ were main $H_2$-producers.

  • 순환유동층보일러 석탄회(CFBA)는 탈황공정을 위한 석회석 투입에 의한 탈황석고와 free-CaO에 의해 자기경화되는 특성이 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 시멘트 바인더 대체용 CFBA의 자가경화에 대한 고로슬래그(BFS)와 탈황석고(FDG)의 영향을 검토하였다. 다량의 Fe2O3, free-CaO 및 탈황 석고를 함유하는 CFBA의 수화반응에 의한 압축강도는 칼슘알루미네이트 수화물, 칼슘실리케이트 수화물, 에트링자이트 및 칼슘카보페라이트 수화물(3CaO·Fe2O3·3CaCO3·12H2O)의 형성에 기인한다. CFBA의 자가 경화에 의한 압축강도는 Ordinary Portland Cement에서 C4AF의 수화물과 유사한 수화물을 생성하여 표현하며, C4AF의 수화시 CaSO4가 존재하면 CaSO4가 CaO·Al2O3와 에트링자이트를 형성하고, 유리 CaO와 CaCO3가 함께 존재하면 육방정계 결정인 탄산칼슘 또는 탄산칼슘 결정이 형성됩니다. CFBA의 경화 특성은 C4AF의 수화 및 경화 메커니즘에 의해 유사한 특성을 가짐을 확인하였다.

  • In order to develope an optimum formulation for iontophoretic delivery of vitamine-C-2 phosphate. we have prepared 3 different formulations using hydrophilic polymers, such as poloxamer, carbo pol and HPMC and iontophoretic flux through skin from these hydrogel formulations was carried out. The effect of current density, drug concentration and current profile on flux was investigated. In-vitro flux study was performed at 36.5$^{\circ}C$, using side-by-side diffusion cell. Full-thickness hairless mouse skin was used for this work. (omitted)

Theoretical Calculations of Infrared Bands of CH3+ and CH5+

  • Existing theoretical calculations predict that infrared spectra of the two most fundamental reactive carbo-ions, methyl cation $CH{_3}^+$ with $D_{3h}$ symmetry and protonated methyl cation $CH{_5}^+$ with $C_s(I)$, $C_s(II)$, and $C_{2v}$ symmetries, appear together in the 7-${\mu}m$ region corresponding to the C-H bending modes. Vibrational band profiles of $CH{_3}^+$ and $CH{_5}^+$ have been compared by ab initio calculation methods that use the basis sets of MP2/aug-cc-pVTZ and CCSD(T)/cc-pVTZ. Our results indicate that the bands of rotation-vibration transitions of $CH{_3}^+$ and $CH{_5}^+$ should overlap not only in the 3-${\mu}m$ region corresponding to the C-H stretching modes but also in the 7-${\mu}m$ region corresponding to the C-H bending modes. Five band intensities of $CH{_5}^+$ among fifteen vibrational transitions between 6 and 8 ${\mu}m$ region are stronger than those of the ${\nu}_2$ and ${\nu}_4$ bands in $CH{_3}^+$. Ultimate near degeneracy of the two bending vibrations ${\nu}_2$ and ${\nu}_4$ of $CH{_3}^+$along with the stronger intensities of $CH{_5}^+$ in the three hydrogen scrambling structures may cause extreme complications in the analysis of the high-resolution carbo-ion spectra in the 7-${\mu}m$ region.

  • This study has investigated the surface phase change, hardness variation, surface precipitates, nitrogen content and corrosion resistance in STS 431 (17Cr-2Ni-0.2C-0.01Nb) martensitic stainless steel after high temperature gas nitriding (HTGN) treatment at the temperature range between $1050^{\circ}C$ and $1150^{\circ}C$. The HTGN-treated surface layer appeared $Cr_2N$ of rod type, carbo-nitride of round type and fine precipitates in the austenite matrix. On the other hand the interior region where the nitrogen was not permeated, exhibited martensite phase. The surface hardness showed 250~590 HV, depending on the HTGN treatment conditions, while the interior martensitic phase represented 520 HV. The permeation depth of nitrogen increased with increasing the HTGN-treated temperature. The nitrogen concentration of the surface layer appeared approximately ~0.17% at $1100^{\circ}C$. On comparing the corrosion resistance between solution-annealed and HTGN-treated steels, the corrosion resistance of HTGN-treated steel was superior to that of solution-annealed specimens.

시설과채류(오이, 참외)의 뿌리혹선충 종합방제에 관한 연구 (Study on Integrated Control against Root-knot Nematode of Fruit Vegetables (Oriental Melon and Cucumber) in Vinyl House)

  • 시설 과채류 재배지의 뿌리혹선충의 피해경감을 위해서 경북도내 시설 오이 재배단지인 칠곡과 참외재배 주산지인 성주에서 1992년부터 1994년까지 3년간 방제시험한 결과 뿌리혹선충의 피해를 경감시키기 위한 토양개량 적기는 모래산흙인 마사토의 경우에 3년 붉은산흙인 경우 4년마다 하는 것이 효과적이고 농약과 조합한 오이의 방재시험에서 빗사마드 분제가 78.2%, 카보입제+토양반전+담수가 71.2%, 카보입제+담수가 66.3%이었으며 참외에서 살충제처리후 20일에는 77.7~80.6%의 방제효과를 보였으나 60일 후에는 33.7~49.5%로 방제가 낮아 후기에는 효과가 낮았다. 참외재배 논에서의 작부체계에 따른 뿌리혹선충 밀도 억제효과는 참외 재배후 담수하여 벼를 재배할 때에 벼 수확시 방제효과가 91.1%로 대부분의 선충이 사멸되었다. 각 처리구 공히 처리당시에는 뿌리혹선충 증식을 억제하였으나 생육추기로 갈수록 선충밀도가 증가되었다. 그러나 토양개량은 3년간 효과적이였으며 가장 경제적으로 선충의 증식을 억제하 수 있는 처리는 3년마다 한번씩 벼를 재배하는 것이었다.

2-Hydroxy-5-nitrobenzoic acid와 3-hydroxy-4-nitrobenzoic acid의 유기인계와 카바메이트계 유도체 합성 및 생물활성 (Synthesis and biological activities of organophosphate and carbamate compounds derived from 2-hydroxy-5-nitrobenzoic acid and 3-hydroxy-4-nitrobenzoic acid)

  • 버드나무 껍질중의 배당체인 salicin으로부터 유래된 salicylic acid와 그 유사화합물인 3-hydroxy benzoic acid의 질산화된 중간체를 출발물질로 하여 몇몇의 알콜과 에스테르화반응을 거쳐 유기인계 및 카바메이트계 화합물의 전구체를 합성하였다. 합성된 전구체의 수산기에 diethylchlorophosphate와 methyl isocyanate를 반응시켜 유기인계 및 카바메이트계 화합물 11종을 합성하였다. 합성된 화합물은 살충, 살균활성실험을 실시하였다. 유기인계 화합물의 벼멸구에 대한 활성은 500 ppm의 농도에서 O-(2-carbomethoxy-4-nitro phenyl) O,O-diethylphosphate 화합물이 96%의 살충력을 보였다. 반면 carbamate 화합물의 경우는 500ppm농도에서 살충력이 전혀 나타나지 않았다. 살균효과는 유기인계 화합물인 경우 도열병에 대해서 ester에 관계없이 250 ppm농도에서 95% 이상의 방제가를 나타냈으며, 그 이외의 병원균에서는 낮은 방제가를 보였다.

외용겔 및 다중유제크림의 코지산 방출특성과 피부자극성 (Drug Release Characteristics and Skin Irritancies of Topical Gels and Multiple Emulsion Creams Containing Kojic Acid)

  • Kojic acid (KA) is an antimelanogenic agent which has been widely used in cosmetics to whiten the skin color. However, it has the drawbacks of the skin irritancy and the instability against the pH, temperature, and light. In order to overcome these problems, various topical gels and multiple emulsion creams which can control the release of active ingredient, KA, were formulated employing cream bases of mineral oil with caprylic capric triglyceride and hydrophilic polymers such as chitosan, carbopol. and pluronics. Using Franz diffusion cells mounted with a synthetic cellulose membrane (MWCO 12,000), drug release characteristics of the formulations were evaluated by the HPLC assay of KA concentration in the receptor compartment of pH 7.4 phosphate buffered saline solution. Drug release from chitosan-based gels (ChitoGel) obeyed to the first order kinetics with a rapid release especially in the initial period. However, pluronic-based gels (PluGel) and carbopol-based gels (CarboGel) revealed controlled release of drug to some extent, followed by the square root-time kinetics. Moreover, the release of KA was further controlled with the W/O/W multiple emulsion creams (MultiCream), showing the apparent zero order release kinetics by virtue of dynamic ratecontrolling membrane of the oil layer. The flux $(J,\;{\mu}g/cm^2/hr)$ of ChitoGel. CarboGel. PluGel. and MultiCream in the initial period of 6hr were 73.30, 28.67. 24.04 and 7.72, respectively. On the other hand, the skin irritancy score of ChitoGel and MultiCream were observed as 2.5 and 2.3 respectively, in the rabbit skin irritation test. Although there were insignificant differences at p<0.05 between those formulations, it was possible to conclude that the W/O/W multiple emulsion creams containing KA might be a good candidate for an antimelanogenic drug delivery system due to the controlled release of acidic drug molecules.

개심술(開心術) 2,000례의 임상적 고찰 (Clinical Experiences of Open Heart Surgery)

  • 배경: 인제 대학교 의과대학 부산 백병원 흉부외과학 교실에서는 1985년 9월부터 1997년 9월까지 총 2,000례의 개심술을 시행하였다. 대상 및 방법: 전체 2,000례의 개심술 중 선천성 심질환이 1532례, 후천성 심질환이 468례였다. 연령별 분포는 선천성 심질환에서는 생후 9일에서 68세 까지였고, 후천성 심질환에서는 11세부터 66세 까지였다. 결과: 선천성 심질환군은 심실중격 결손증(VSD)이 940례, 심방중격 결손증(ASD)이 324례, 팔로 4징증(TOF)이 112례, 폐동맥 협착(PS)이 46례, 심내막상 결손(ECD)이 38례, 발살바동 파열(Valsalva sinus rupture)이 15례, 완전 대혈관 전위증(TGA) 과 양대혈관 우심실 기시증(DORV) 각각 4례 등으로 구성되었다. 선천성 심질환군에서는 근치적 수술후 3.1%의 사망률을 보였다. 후천성 심질환군 468례 중 심장 판막질환이 381례, 허혈성 심질환이 48례, 심장종양이 12례, Annuloaortic ectasia가 8례, 박리성 대동맥류가 16례 등이었다. 381례의 판막질환 중 단일 판막 치환술이 226례(대동맥 판막 치환술 36례, 승모판막 치환술 188례, 삼첨판막 치환술 2례), 이중 판막 치환술이 71례(대동맥 판막 치환술 과 승모판막 치환술), 승모판막 치환술과 삼첨판막 성형술을 동시에 시행한 경우가 54례, 이중 판막치환술과 삼첨판막 성형술을 동시에 시행한 경우가 18례 등이었다. 사용된 인공판막은 총 466개 였다. 승모판막 치환술에 사용된 인공판막은 St. Jude Medical 판막이 123개, Carpentier-Edwrads 판막이 90개, CarboMedics 판막이 65개, Sorin 판막이 42개, 기타 판막이 16개였다. 대동맥 판막 치환술에 사용된 인공 판막은 St. Jude Medical 판막이 68개, CarboMedics 판막이 36개, Carpentier-Edwards 판막이 14개, 기타 판막이 9개 였다. 관상동맥 우회술(CABG)은 48례에서 시행되었다. 혈관 이식편의 수는 단일 혈관 이식이 14례, 이중 혈관 이식이 21례, 삼중 혈관 이식이 10례, 사중 혈관 이식이 3례였다. 결론: 술후 재원 기간내 사망률은 비청색증 선천성 심질환에서 2.0%, 청색증 선천성 심질환에서 15.5%, 후천성 심질환에서 5.1%였다. 전체 사망률은 2,000례 중 72명이 사망하여 3.6%였다

Carbomedics 인조 심장판막의 임상적 경험 (Clinical Experience of Carbomedics Prosthetic Heart Valve)

  • The CarboMedics Medical valve has become our mechanical valvular prosthesis of choice because of favorable hemodynamic results that associated with marked clinical improvement and low incidence of thromboembolism after it,s uses. The data for this study was collected from August 1988 to July 1993,five years period. There were total of 57 patients[female 40,male 17 in this series with 4 isolated aortic valve,26 isolated mitral valve,11 double valve and a triple valve replacement. The mean follow up time was 32 months. Postoperatively,58% of cases were in New York Heart Association[NYHA functional class I,and mild and moderate symptoms[NYHA class II were present in 36% and there were very few patients remaining in higher functional classes. In postoperative echocardiographic study, showed marked improved cardiac function. The overall early mortality was 3.5% and the late mortality was one case after triple valve replacement due to sudden death. The causes of early death were attributed to early prosthetic valve endocarditis and heart failure.
