  • This study was designed for automated pattern drawing and grading a man's Durumagi, Korean traditional coat in order to reestablished and grade the pattern by Apparel CAD SYSTEM. For the study, AM-250 systems of Gerber as the computer and Macro program as the automated drawing were used. Also, PDS(Pattern Design System) was used for the grading of the original Durumagi pattern. Results were followings; First, the size data that could be standardized by reestablishing the pattern of a man's Durumagi by each size was presented. Second, The pattern was developed by each size. Third, new design was propose for mass production with the traditional design of the DURUMAGI Fourth, The time for making DURUMAGI pattern and the cost through the automated drawings by using the Macro program were reduced. Moreover, was presented the basic data for a ready to made garment like the Western garment. Five, A man's DURUMAGI by CAD System was graded that could be applied to ready to made Hanbok

분산객체를 응용한 RP Preprocessor의 기능 구현 (RP Preprocessor Based on Distributed Objects)

  • When considering the use of rapid prototyping (RP), there are many issues a designer has to address for handling an STL model, the de facto standard fur RP. Today designers can skip all these issues by visiting web-based service bureaus that readily supply needed information for the RP services. Since orders are taken for RP parts through the web page of service providers designers are now asked to upload their STL files to the company server either by direct upload, ftp file transfer, or as an e-mail attachment. If the service bureau, however, fixes or edits an STL filceto optimize the RP process but neglects to tell its customer about the rework in detail, it may cause problems down the line in processing of the original CAD data for other applications. In this paper, we propose a framework for a collaborative virtual environment between CAD designers and RP processes on the internet which directly provides designers with an advanced preprocessor functionality, design visualization, as well as model display, repair, and slicing over the network. This can help smooth data transfer from CAD to RP process with minimum inconsistency in CAD.

  • This paper deals with some critical activities of CAPP system such as generation of part description database, part feature recognition, process and operation selection, and sequencing method for turning operation of symmetric rotational parts. The part description database is generated by data conversion module from CAD data, and the part feature is recognized by using both pattern primitives and feature recognition rules. Machining processes and operations are selected based on machining surface features and its sequence is determined by rules acquired from process planning expert. AutoCAD is employed as CAD system and computer program is developed by using Turbo-C on IBM PC/AT compatible system.

A Two-Phase Approach of Progressive Mesh Reconstruction from Unorganized Point Clouds

  • This paper presents a practical approach for surface reconstruction from unoriented point clouds. Instead of estimating local surface orientation, we first generate a set of depth images from the input point clouds, and a coarse mesh is then generated based on them by space carving techniques. The resultant mesh is progressively refined by local mesh refinement and optimization according to surface distance measure. A manifold mesh approximating the input points within an given tolerance is finally obtained. Our approach is easy to implement, but has the ability to outputs high quality meshes in different resolutions. We show that the proposed approach is not sensitive to several types of data disfigurement and is able to reconstruct models robustly from variance input data.

  • 캐드(CAD) 시스템은 우리가 사용하는 대부분의 산업 제품을 제작하는데 필수적으로 사용되고 있는 중요한 기술로 알려져 있다. 캐드 기술은 컴퓨터 그래픽스 기술의 발달과 더불어 상업용 3차원 캐드 시스템으로 영역을 확장해 나가고 있다. 특히, 신발제조와 같은 특수한 영역의 캐드 시스템들도 3차원 캐드로 발전해 나가고 있다. 그러나 캐드 소프트웨어의 개발의 어려움으로 인해 소수의 메이저급 캐드 소프트웨어 회사를 제외하고는 대부분이 3차원 개념을 제공하는 AutoCAD에 종속적인 소프트웨어를 개발하고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 실제의 작업 현장에서 일하는 많은 신발 캐드 디자이너들은 직접 신발 디자인을 종이에 그리는 교육을 받아 3차원 캐 보다는 2차원 캐드에 더 익숙하고, 작업 효율도 훨씬 뛰어남을 보이고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 현장 실무자들의 작업 방식과 3차원 캐드 소프트웨어가 주는 장점을 결합한 3차원 신발 캐드 시스템을 설계 할 것이다. 본 시스템은 다른 신발 캐드 시스템들과 달리 OpenGL을 기반으로 하여 어느 플랫폼에서 잘 작동하도록 설계할 것이다. 또한 3차원 신발 설계 시스템에서 가장 중요한 부분인 3차원 캐드데이터와 2차원 캐드 데이터의 호환 방법을 제시하고, 다양한 크기의 신발 제작에 필수적인 여러 할출(grading) 기법을 제시할 것이다.

Lost wax technique과 CAD를 이용한 pattern의 프린팅 방식으로 제작된 가철성 국소의치 금속구조물의 적합도 비교 (Comparison of internal adaptation of removable partial denture metal frameworks made by lost wax technique and printing technique of pattern using CAD)

  • 가철성 국소의치의 금속구조물을 제작하는 방법은 왁스 패턴을 제작하여 주조하는 lost wax technique이 주로 사용되어 왔으나, 디지털 기술의 발달로 서베잉과 금속구조물을 CAD (Computer aided design)로 디자인하여 제작할 수 있게 되었다. 여러 증례에서 CAD를 이용한 pattern의 프린팅 방식으로 얻은 레진 패턴이 구강 내에 정확하게 적합 되었고 최종 금속구조물 또한 좋은 적합도를 보였다고 보고되었다. 본 원저는 치조골 소실이 심한 상, 하악부분 무치악 환자에서 가철성 국소의치의 금속구조물을 두 가지 방식으로 각각 제작하였다. 첫 번째는 일반적인 lost wax technique과 두 번째는 CAD를 통해 pattern을 프린팅하여 금속구조물을 주조하는 방식으로 제작하여, CAD data와 fit checker를 이용해 금속구조물과 서베이드 크라운과의 유격을 측정함으로써 금속구조물의 적합도를 비교하였다. 두 가지 방식 모두 임상적으로 사용 가능한 금속구조물의 적합도를 얻었기에 이를 보고하고자 한다.

  • This paper presents an automatic conversion of machining data from the orthographic views of press mold by feature recognition rule. The system includes following 6 modules : separation of views, function support, dimension text recognition, feature recognition, dimension text check and feature processing modules. The characteristic of this system is that with minimum user intervention, it recognizes basic features such as holes, slots, pockets and clamping parts and thus automatically converts CAD drawing details of press mold into machining data using 2D CAD system instead of using an expensive 3D Modeler. The system is developed by using IBM-PC in the environment of AutoCAD R12, AutoLISP and MetaWare High C. Performance of the system is verified as a good interfacing of CAD and CAM when applied to a lot of sample drawings.

  • Outfitting system in ship design has huge kinds of standard part. Data base of and automatic design procedure of part master should be included in ship cad in order to reduce the design time. Present study shows an process of part master DB construction of pipe equipments using 3-dimensional CAD environment Attribute and properties of part masters are chosen from JIS standard. As the schema of part masters are stored in data base, 3D geometric model is parsed from the schema.

  • Developed in this research is a CAM system for 5-axis NC Machining of sculptured surfaces. We identify problems in generating 5-axis NC data and propose methods of overcoming them. Issues discussed in this paper are: kinematic modelling of NC machines; determination of cutter position (location and orientation); check of machine work-range; linear trajectory plann- ing ; calculation of feedrate number. The proposed system has been implemented in FORTRAN77 on the Personal IRIS EWS, and it also constitutes a module of the CAD/CAM system 'CASSET' developed in KIST CAD/CAM lab.
