STEP 데이터베이스를 Native Storage로 가지는 3차원 선체 CAD에서 형상 모델링 커널과 데이터베이스간의 인터페이스 (Interface between Geometric Kernel and Database for a Ship CAD which has a STEP Database as the Native Storage)

  • It is difficult to support collaborative design with a conventional ship CAD system which manages design information using files. In this research, file storage has been replaced with a database. This paper describes the OpenDIS which is an interface between the geometric kernel and the database. Its main purpose is to implement the CAD system which has the STEP database as the native storage. A prototype CAD system has been implemented using that OpenDIS interface which is implemented by OpenCascade geometric kernel and the Objectstore object-oriented database. The STEP methodology is used as the database schema. This CAD system has been applied to the hull design of a ship in order to verify the usefulness of the interface.

  • With the advent of computers, CAD systems are widely used for various design practice. Complexity of CAD systems and difficulty of exchanging data among different CAD systems, however, do not allow efficient use as desired. In addition, to follow variety of designers' need, CAD activities should be customized. This article proposed a methodology fer developing an intelligent CAD system and the sate-of-the-art technologies described fur customizing CAD systems using API (Application Programming Interface). A basic platform is proposed and a useful application system is implemented to enable a parametric design by directly inputting numerical values on a CAD model. Based on this application, we developed a system that makes it possible to share part family data between SolidEdge and Pro/Engineer. The proposed concept on intelligent CAD systems facilitates integration of external systems such as CAE tools and promotes the use of CAD for both engineering designers and analysts.

  • 기존의 상업용 데이타베이스 시스템들은 복잡한 오브젝트 들의 계층 구조에 의존하며 방대한 양의 데이타를 반복적으로 접근하는 CAD 데이타의 특성을 효과적으로 지원하지 못하여 CAD 데이타베이스의 중요성과 이의 효율적인 관리를 위한 연구의 필요성이 대두되었다. 본 논문에서는 CAD 데이타베이스의 효율적인 관리와 설계 도구들의 통합을 위한 좋은 환경을제공하기 위하여, 계층적 인터페이스 시스템을 설계하고 이의 구현을 위해 CAD 데이타베이스의 특성을 고려한 GROCO 모델을 제시하고자 한다. 배치기와 변환기의 두 개의 서브시스템으로 구성된 계층적 인터페이스 시스템은 CAD 데이타의 효율적인 관리를 위한 빠른 실용화를 위해 기존의 상업용 데이타베이스 관리 시스템과 CAD 도구들을 인터페이스 시키는시스템으로 개발되어 실제 CAD 도구들에 적용하고자 한다. GROCO 모델은 데이타의 의미들을 나타내기 위한 5개의 노드 타입들이 연결되어 방향 주기 그래프를 구성하고 있다. 이 모델은 이질적인 데이타들의 다양한 형태의 모임으로 구성된 복잡한 오브젝트들의 계층구조에 의해 이루어진 CAD 데이타의 특성을 효과적으로 지원하고자 한다.

The results of this study \circled1 HCI of architectural modeling is demanded effective design of keypad and short key. \circled2 It is require that system reactions to be united in one interface in order to hold in check confusion of the information. \circled3 Intelligent interface for continuous update of 3D information is required.

제조특징인식에 의한 CAD/CAPP 시스템 (CAD/CAPP System based on Manufacturing Feature Recognition)

  • This paper describes an integrated CAD and CAPP system for prismatic parts of injection mold which generates a complete process plan automatically from CAD data of a part without human intervention. This system employs Auto CAD as a CAD model and GS-CAPP as an automatic process planning system for injection mold. The proposed CAD/CAPP system consists of three modules such as CAD data conversion module, manufacturing feature recognition module, and CAD/CAPP interface module. CAD data conversion module transforms design data of AutoCAD into three dimensional part data. Manufacturing feature recognition module extracts specific manufacturing features of a part using feature recognition rule base. Each feature can be recognized by combining geometry, position and size of the feature. CAD/CAPP interface module links manufacturing feature codes and other head data to automatic process planning system. The CAD/CAPP system can improve the efficiency of process planning activities and reduce the time required for process planning. This system can provide a basis for the development of part feature based design by analyzing manufacturing features.

  • Today, offshore design field is concerned with system integration such as CIM(Computer Integrated Manufacturing), PDMS(Product Data Management System) and EDMS(Engineering Data Management System) in order to cope with the change of engineering specification as owner's requirements during construction stage of the project. This paper deals with the case study that describes about the efficient interface between material control system and 3D CAD system to support the design process in offshore industry using design rules involved the designer's knowledge. In this paper, we constructed an information system, called knowledge-based CAD interface systems, which is composed material code management system and 3D specification generator which automatically creates 3D catalogue anti specification by linking the material code, called short code, and the specification components of the 3D CAD system. As a result of the construction, it is possible to maintain consistency of the design process, and through reduction of the design processing time and improvement of the design process, competitiveness is improved.

Open CASCADE를 이용한 블록조립 계획용 CAD 인터페이스 (CAD Interface for Block Assembly Planning using Open CASCADE)

  • This paper presents a process planning system that will generate and verify assembly sequences of block assemblies. It consists of a CAD interface system and an assembly sequence planning system. In developing this system, we used an open architecture CAD kernel for the CAD interface system, for visualizing the CAD model and the assembly sequences, and an expert system shell for the assembly sequence planning system. This paper also proposes a framework for the integration of all the steps required to automate the procedures, from design to production. The process planning system is demonstrated by a simple example.

위상최적설계 결과를 이용한 CAD 인터페이스 (CAD Interface using Topology Optimization)

  • Topology optimization has been widely used for the optimal structure design for weight reduction and high performance. Since the result of three-dimensional topology optimization is represented by the discrete material distribution in finite elements, it is hard to interpret from a design point of view. In this paper, the method for interpreting three-dimensional topology optimization resuIt into a series of cross-sectional curve representation is proposed and interfaced with the existing CAD system for the practical use. The concept of node density and virtual grid is introduced to transform element density values into grid density and material boundaries in each cross section are identified based on the element volume rate to satisfy the amount of material specified in the original design intent. Design exampIes show that three-dimensional topology result can be converted into a form of curve CAD model and the seamless interface with CAD software can be achieved.

  • CAD 테크놀로지는 새로운 디자인 사고나 조형 원리를 촉진시킬 가능성을 내재하고 있는 것은 아닐까? 본 논문은 이러한 의문에서 출발해, 모델링 인터페이스라는 개념을 분석의 수단으로 삼아 투시도법과 CAD 프로그램의 사회적 구성을 살펴보고자 한다. 본 논문은 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫 번째, 르네상스 이후 투시도법이 그리기 중심의 모델링 인터페이스로 자리잡는 과정, 그리고 투시도법의 기하학적 원리가 신재료의 등장으로 현실 공간으로 확산되고, 미적 담론의 차원에서 정당화되는 과정을 논의한다. 두 번째, 컴퓨터를 사용한 모델링 인터페이스가 등장하는 역사적 맥락을 살펴보고, CAD 프로그램이 새로운 모델링 알고리듬과 그래픽 유저 인터페이스의 개발을 거치면서 컴퓨터를 통한 디자인을 실현하는 과정을 검토한다. 특히 본 논문은 이 두 가지 모델링 인터페이스가 구성되는 역사적 경로를 추적하면서, 개별 모델링 인터페이스가 디자인 행위와 맺게 되는 관계, 그리고 그 관계 내부에서 구성되는 디자이너의 인지 양식과 조형 논리의 변모를 분석한다.
