CAD/CAM System Development for Automatic Creation and Manufacturing of Three Dimension Objects (입체 형상의 자동생성 및 가공을 위한 CAD/CAM 시스템 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a CAD/CAM system for automatic creation and manufacturing of three dimension objects. The computer system used in this study made RAM 2M, CPU 80386, VGA graphic card. The results in this paper are as follows ; 1. By interconnect PC(personal computer) and NC(numerical control) milling machine with RS232C connector, we was constructed with CAD/CAM system. 2. The developed algorithm in this study is able to be design of three dimension object on the computer CRT and manufacturing of NC milling machine. 3. Because of design and modifying on the PC of objects, we can be saving time, cost and improvable precision of objects. 4. Essentially, we expect industrial accident to reduse according as we takes advantage of CAD/CAM system.

  • CAD/CAM Software는 operating system(OS), 도형표시 회화처리, 형상정의, 형상조작, DBMS, 응용등으로 되어 있다. 그림 9에 이들 관계를 표시하고 있다. (1) operating system(OS) OS는 특히 CAD/CAM 특유의 것은 없고, 컴퓨터를 보다 효율있게 이용하기 위한 기본적인 software이다. OS 기능으로는 이하와 같은 것이 있다. .task 관리: CAD/CAM시스템은 일반적으로 복수의 단말에서 부터 다른 응용을 동시에 처리, 또는 back ground 로서 ploter를 움직인다. 이와같은 동질처리 (multitash)의 관리를 행한다. . Data 관리: 외부의 기억장치와의 data 수수를 행하기 위한 기본 software. .통신제어: 타의 컴퓨터와 통신회선으로 연결되어 있을 때, 이들의 data 수수를 행한다. 특히, LAN의 1 node로서 CAD/CAM 시스템이 연결되는 일이 많다. 이 경우, 다른 단말과의 communication 기능이 중요하다. .기타: FORTRAN등의 언어 processor, program 또는 data 관리와 같은 utilities가 포함되어 있다.

  • This study used the 3D CAD/CAM system in manufacturing die plates to improve productivity. UG NX 3.0 was used as 3D CAD/CAM software, with the created NC code transmitted to the CNC Milling and Wire Cut Electric Discharge machine. The die plate was then automatically machined.

  • For coping with various ship types easily, welding automation using CAD/CAM is demanded and and developed. In this paper we propose a dedicated CAM system which generates MACRO files to control robot manipulators. The paper contains CAD interface, virtual simulation, macro generation and job schedulling. At first, it defines and extracts weldline from CAD data, and generates proper MACRO programs. And it obtains optimum job schedules. This system removes the manual work, and consequently reduces the overall lead time. And it reduces costs and time for developing robot welding programs. This can be expanded to virtual factory simulation technology. Moreover, it is possible to apply this system for automation of Cutting and Painting

  • Generally Cam-Follower systems consist of two elements: Cam is for rotating motion and follower for reciprocating motion. Depending on the shape of cam and type of follower, the motion of cam-follower system is determined. Thus design process and analysis process must be well defined. The design process means to find the coordinates of cam shape which can be defined the given motion of follower and the analysis process means to determine the motion curve of follower corresponding to the given cam based on the dimensions of a cam-follower system. This paper consists of two parts: One is development of a numerical method for design and analysis of cam-follower systems, the other is for development of a CAD program and its application. As the first part of the paper, an iterative contact method is proposed. This method can calculate the contact points between cam and roller and determine their contact angles iteratively. The second part of the paper presents the structure of a CAD program and its availability to the industrial applications.

Comparative study in marginal adaptation of zirconia cores fabricated with 3 different CAD/CAM systems (3종의 CAD/CAM 시스템에서 지르코니아 코어의 변연 적합도에 관한 비교 연구)

  • Statement of problem: There have been many studies about marginal adaptation of Zirconia core fabricated with various CAD/CAM systems. But, the comparative study has not been conducted much. Purpose: This study was to compare marginal adaptations of zirconia cores fabricated with 3 different CAD/CAM systems. Material and methods: The in vitro marginal adaptations of zirconia cores fabricated with 3 different CAD/CAM systems($Adens^{(R)}$ system, $Lava^{(R)}$ system, and $Cerasys^{(R)}$ system) were evaluated and compared. In this study 30 zirconia cores were fabricated(10 zirconia cores per each system). The measurements of the marginal adaptatioin were carried out using microscope $L-150A^{(R)}$(Nikon, Japan). Measurements were recorded at 50 points. The measurements were analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis test and Wilcoxon rank sum test. Results: Within the limits of this study, the results were as follows. 1. Mean marginal gap values obtained were $284.5{\pm}152.9{\mu}m$ in Adens system, $99.0{\pm}73.0{\mu}m$ in Lava system, and $153.5{\pm}85.7{\mu}m$ in Cerasys system. 2. Zirconia core made by Lava system showed the smallest marginal gap(P<0.05). Conclusion: In the limitation of this study, we concluded that $Lava^{(R)}$ System was superior than other systems($Adens^{(R)}$ system and $Cerasys^{(R)}$ system) in the marginal adaptation.

CEREC 3D System을 이용한 당일수복 (one-day treatment) 임상증례

  • Application of CAD/CAM is changing the way partial or full veneer all ceramic restoration is made. CAD/CAM systems, which were used mainly in other industries, have been developed and introduced for the dental purposes recently. It produced a flood of information on the CAD/CAM systems. It also influenced the development of restorative materials and all ceramic is substituting the traditional restorative materials of gold, composite resin and metal. Price increase of gold and other raw materials made the all ceramic more appealing. The introduction of a CEREC 3D system was innovative in several ways. Image of the prepared tooth is captured by camera and impression taking is unnecessary. Restoration can be delivered to the patient on one appointment and it will satisfy the demand of busy patients. One-day treatment with direct CAD/CAM system saves time compared to indirect CAD/CAM system. More superior restoration can be produced if lab work such as the adaptability check and shade selection is cooperated with lab technician. Short working time and comparably superior shade compatibility of color block was close to ideal. In the future, restorations with better quality can be fabricated in less time to busy patients thanks to the development of CAD/CAM system and dental materials.

  • Prior to the introduction of automated systems such as jewelry CAD and CAM, the jewelry manufacturing industry had many originals made by hand. However, after the introduction of the automated system, original craftsmen with high technology have disappeared, and computer designers and 3D printing print engineers are taking their place. The introduction of automated systems such as CAD and CAM in the existing hand-made production line has resulted in diversification of designs and cutting-edge and specialization of jewelry manufacturing. In the domestic jewelry industry, the dependence of automation systems such as CAD and CAM in the manufacturing process continues to increase, and the situation is taking up more and more parts in the jewelry design curriculum of universities. From these results, the CAD/CAM automation system field in the jewelry manufacturing industry becomes an essential and important field in the future.

  • This study deals with the development of CAM system which can machine and measure any shape of mold and die by machining center and coordinate measureing machine . The overall goal of the CAM system is to achieve the mold and die machining , from digitizing through to final cutting. The hardware of the system comprises PC and machining center. CMM. There are three steps in the mold and die machining. (1) measuring of physical model by the CMM, (2) geometric modeling by the CAD system, (3) generation of NC code by the tool path compensated for tool radius. It is developed a software package, with which can conduct a micro CAM system in the PC without economical burden.

Survey study on the Preference of Dental Medical Personnel for Dental CAD/CAM Milling Machines (치과용 CAD/CAM 밀링기에 대한 치과의료종사자들의 선호도 조사)

  • Purpose: Recently, according to the development of digital technology, computer aided design/computer aided manufacture (CAD/CAM) system is widely used for fabrication of various dental prostheses in the field of dentistry. This study aims to survey the present state and awareness of CAD/CAM system on domestic dental field, and to supply the advice for the application of the new system. Materials and methods: In this questionnaire survey was conducted for a total of 298 dentists, dental hygienist and dental technicians of the whole country including the dental hospital of Seoul National University for two months from November to December, 2016 through mail. Results: The most important purpose to consider when purchasing a dental CAD/CAM milling machine were the performance of the milling machine (64.43%) and the use of milling machine was the highest with 49.33% of manufacturing for dental prosthesis and customized implant abutment. In addition, more than 60% of respondents answered positively about the purchase of new milling machine if the CAD/CAM milling machine was improved to satisfactory performance. Conclusion: This survey results show that the improved CAD/CAM milling machine would be play an important role in the dental industry in preparation for digitization and the 4th industrial revolution.
