In vitro Induction of Tetraploid Roots by Various Pretreatments from Anther of Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer

  • This experiment was done to determine the optimum conditions for the induction of tetraploidy in Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer using bud length, temperature and plant growth regulator pretreatments. Highest callus formation was obtained when the medium was inoculated with flower bud in the size of 2-3 mm in length. The optimum temperature for the callus formation was high when treated at $4^{\circ}C$ for 4-5 days. Among the treatments of growth regulators and different concentration, highest callus formation was observed in combination of 5 mg/L 2,4-D and 1 mg/L kinetin for P. ginseng. As a result of flow cytometer analysis, all 7 adventitious roots were confirmed as tetraploidys. Cytological analysis revealed that the chromosome number of tetraploid roots was 96, while that of diploid roots was 48. Tetraploid ginseng roots were inoculated to flower bud size of 2-3 mm in length. The callus formation was optimum when treated with 1 mg/L 2,4-D at $4^{\circ}C$ for 5 days. Compared with control roots, tetraploid roots were thicker and longer and had few lateral branches. Fresh weight of tetraploid roots was relatively higher than the control roots.

  • Opening 21th Century, all the Countries of the world has been focusing on build up the foundation of cultural infrastructure in a various way, since the awareness of importance for cultural design products has been turnover. On the other hand, our cultural crafts' industry has not escaped from poor working environment and lagging behind conventional product system, and yet there is no complete system for mass production. The study is collaboration with Tourism Industry Innovation Center in Kwangju University for development of cultural products of wooden crafts by using cultural resources in Kwangju area and CNC M/C which is up-to-date digital technology. It aims to make possibility of mass production and discrimination on design for wooden crafts which is based on highly skilled technical manpower and creativities, and expects to develop and merchandise global wooden cultural products.

Inhibition of Adipocyte Differentiation by MeOH Extract from Carduus crispus through ERK and p38 MAPK Pathways

  • In this study, the effects of a methanol (MeOH) extract of Carduus crispus L. (Asteraceae) on adipogenesis was investigated in 3T3-L1 cells. To differentiate preadipocytes to adipocytes, confluent 3T3-L1 preadipocytes were treated with a hormone mixture, which included isobutylmethylxanthine, dexamethasone, and insulin (MDI). The methanol extract of C. crispus significantly decreased fat accumulation by inhibiting adipogenic signal transcriptional factors in MDI-induced 3T3-L1 cells in a dose-dependent manner. In MTT assays and on PI-staining, methanol extract of C. crispus inhibited the proliferation of 3T3-L1 cells during mitotic clonal expansion (MCE). The anti-adipogenic effect of the Carduus extract seemed to be associated with the upregulation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathways within the first 2 days after MDI treatment. These results suggest that methanol extract of C. crispus might be beneficial for the treatment of obesity.

국내 HMR제품의 나트륨 저감화를 위한 탐색적 분석 -국내 국, 탕, 찌개류 HMR제품의 라벨 분석을 중심으로- (An Exploratory Research for Reduction of Sodium of Korean HMR Product -Analysis on Labeling of Guk, Tang, Jjigae HMR Products in Korea-)

  • 본 연구는 국, 탕, 찌개류 HMR제품의 영양라벨을 분석하여 제품 선택 시 소비자에게 적합한 정보를 제공하며 국가 정책 수립 시 현황에 관한 기초자료를 제공하고자 진행되었다. 기존 연구에서 외식 및 급식메뉴의 나트륨 함량을 구하고 이를 비교한 연구는 다수 존재하나 가정간편식 제품의 영양성분을 비교한 연구는 드물다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내에서 시판중인 국류 57개, 탕류 75개, 찌개류 44개로 총 176개의 국, 탕, 찌개류 HMR 제품의 영양라벨을 분석하였다. 제품의 메뉴 빈도에서 국류는 축하 또는 기념 등 목적이 있는 제품, 탕류는 동물성 단백질 위주의 식품, 찌개류는 대중적 제품이 다수를 차지하였다. 제품의 1포장단위당 중량 및 9가지 주요영양성분을 비교분석한 결과, 평균 나트륨 함량은 국류가 1558.5mg, 탕류가 1472.3mg, 찌개류가 2118.0mg으로 찌개류가 가장 높게 나타났다. 보관방법에 따른 분석결과 평균 나트륨 함량은 냉동($-18^{\circ}C$이하)가 2022.9mg, 냉장($-2{\sim}10^{\circ}C$)이 1676.7mg, 실온($1{\sim}35^{\circ}C$)이 1250.9mg순으로 높게 나타났다. 따라서 HMR제품의 나트륨 저감화를 위해서는 찌개류와 냉동제품을 우선적으로 고려해야 하겠다.

고려인삼 사포닌류의 생합성에 관한 연구 (Biosynthesis of Saponins in Panax ginseng)

  • 고려인삼(Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) 뿌리의 주요 성분중의 하나인 saponin류(ginsenosides)의 생합성 경로를 규명하기 위하여 인삼 뿌리 절편(2g)을 20mM sodium acetate ($500\mu$Ci [U-$^{l4}C$]-acetate), 10 mM mevalonate ($25\mu$Ci [2-$^{l4}C$]-mevalonate), 10 mM squalene ($10\mu$Ci [4,8,12,13,17,21-$^3H$]-squalene)을 각각 포함한 반응액에 가하고 $30^{\circ}C$에서 72시간 가온처리하여 얻은 생성물을 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. [U-$^{l4}C$]-acetate, [2-$^{l4}C$]-mevalonate, [4,8,12,13,17,21-$^3H$]-squalene으로부터 각각 방사성 인삼 saponin이 합성됨을 autoradiography로 확인하였다. 2. [U-$^{l4}C$]-acetate로부터의 생성물을 T.L.C.로 분리 분석한 결과 panaxadiol, panaxatriol, squalene, mevalonate에서 회수된 방사능이 각각 가해준 총 방사능의 2.1%, 2.7%, 2.6%, 0.2% 였으며 당에서도 상당량의 방사능이 탐지되었다. 3. 2-$^{l4}C$]-mevalonate로부터의 생성물을 T.L.C.로 분리 분석한 결과 squalene에서 많은 방사능이 회수되었고 [4,8,12,13,17,21-$^3H$]-squalene으로부터의 생성물을 T.L.C.로 분리 분석한 결과 panaxadiol, panaxatriol, sterol에서 많은 방사능이 회수되었다. 이상과 같은 실험결과로부터, 인삼뿌리에서의 saponin류 합성이 acetate로부터 mevalonate, squalene등의 중간 물질을 거치는 경로가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

아세톤 용매분해법에 의한 헤미셀룰로오스의 분해특성 및 연료물질의 생성 (Degradation Properties and Production of Fuels from Hemicellulose by Acetone-Solvolysis)

  • In this study, thermochemical degradation of hemicellulose by Acetone-Solvolysis, the effects of reaction temperature, conversion yield, degradation properties and degradation products were investigated. Experiments were performed in a tube reactor by varying reaction temperature from $200{\circ}C$ to $400{\circ}C$ at 40 min of reaction time. The liquid products from pyrolysis-liquefaction of hemicellulose contained various kinds of ketones. ketones, as 4-methyl-3-penten-2-one, 3-methylene-2-pentanone, 22,6-dimethyl-2, 5-heptadien-4-one, 4-methyl-2-pentanone, 5-methyl-2-hexanone, 3,5,5-trimethyl-2-cyclohexen-1-one, and bezenes. as 1,4-dimethylbenzene, 1-methyl-2-(1-methylethyl)-benzene, 1,4-dimethyl-2-(2-methylpropyl)benzene, 4-secbutyl-ethyl benzene, could be used as high-octane-value fuels and fuel additives. Combustion heating value of liquid products from thermochemical conversion processes of hemicellulose was in the range of $6,680{\sim}7,170cal/g$. After 40min of reaction at $400{\circ}C$ in Acetone-Solvolysis of hemicellulose, the energy yield and mass yield was as high as 72.2% and 41.2g oil/100g raw material, respectively.

중국 C2C 소셜커머스 플랫폼에서 판매자와 브랜드 신뢰가 지속적 구매의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Trust of Sellers and Brands on Customers' Continuous Purchase Intention in C2C Social Commerce Platform in China)

  • Purpose - This study analyzed the correlation and influence between social support, trust (seller, brand), and continuous purchase intention in C2C social commerce in China. Design/methodology/approach - To test the hypothesis, SPSS and Smart PLS 3.0 statistical packages were used based on the collected data. Findings - First, it was confirmed that social support (emotional support, informational support) had a positive effect on trust in sellers. Second, it was found that trust in sellers had a positive effect on brand trust. Third, both seller trust and brand trust have a positive effect on consumers' continuous purchase intention. Research implications or Originality - When consumers gain emotional and informational support from sellers, trust in sellers will be effectively improved. Companies wishing to improve brand credibility of their products will have to outsource the sale of their products to trusted sellers. The C2C social commerce platform should build its own trust rating system, recommend sellers with high reliability ratings, and encourage sellers to provide consumers with a lot of information about their brand.

  • The reaction of the sodium salts of 4-methoxy and 4, 7-dimethoxy 6-hydroxy benzofuran-5-carboxylic acid with ethyl chloroformate yields the corresponding dicarbethoxy derivatives. The N-substituted amides were obtained by treating the latter compounds with amines. The corresponding hydrazides were synthesized by the reaction of hydrazine hydrate on the dicarbethoxy derivatives which spontaneously cyclized to 5-substituted-2, 3- dihydro-1, 3, 4, -oxadiazol-2-one. Also the reaction with phenyl hydrazine has been studied. The dicarbethoxy derivatives and N-substituted amides were tested against Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria in vitro. Most of the compounds posses moderate or slight activity against Gram positive bacteria.

Effects of The Torrefaction Process on The Fuel Characteristics Larix kaempferi C

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the fuel characteristics of thermally treated wood chips of the Larix kaempferi C. As torrefaction temperature was increased ($200^{\circ}C$ to $300^{\circ}C$), the carbon content, calorific value, and mass loss of torrefied wood chips increased significantly. The torrefied wood chips were shown to have hydrophobic properties even when only treated by mild torrefaction. The energy required to grind torrefied wood chips was reduced by the torrefaction process. Different sizes of wood chips were used in this study; however, this produced almost no difference in the fuel characteristics of processed Larix kaempferi C, except in the distribution of ground wood particles. Similar results were observed when the wood chips were torrefied for different lengths of time (15 min to 60 min) at a constant temperature. Torrefaction was shown to have positive effects on the fuel characteristics of Larix kaempferi C, including improved energy density, storage, and grindability.

A Decision Tree Approach for Identifying Defective Products in the Manufacturing Process

  • Recently, due to the significance of Industry 4.0, the manufacturing industry is developing globally. Conventionally, the manufacturing industry generates a large volume of data that is often related to process, line and products. In this paper, we analyzed causes of defective products in the manufacturing process using the decision tree technique, that is a well-known technique used in data mining. We used data collected from the domestic manufacturing industry that includes Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Point of Production (POP), equipment data accumulated directly in equipment, in-process/external air-conditioning sensors and static electricity. We propose to implement a model using C4.5 decision tree algorithm. Specifically, the proposed decision tree model is modeled based on components of a specific part. We propose to identify the state of products, where the defect occurred and compare it with the generated decision tree model to determine the cause of the defect.
