The importance of technology commercialization is being emphasized more and more, but high technology excellence does not always lead to a successful business. In addition, companies that invest heavily in basic research and technology development are also not always able to guarantee high profits. This is due to the technical problems when present in step research and development levels are difficult to commercialize. And the market will not work rationally is also the cause of the problem. Therefore, to effectively utilize the resources necessary to ensure such partners to build alliances and cooperation with external funding or manpower is crucial to commercialize the research results of basic science successfully. In previous studies, it has been made many studies in accordance with the approach to the technology (e.g. Research and Development, Management of Technology, Technology Innovation, etc.). But the study of technology commercialization point of view is not being done much. This study should explores the available business required, or realized in the process of researching the basic science and trying to understand the imperfections of the market through the property of technology (tacit knowledge, objectified value of technology and the information asymmetry between innovation subjects, etc.). In addition, this paper, we try to focus on a strategic approach to the role of International Science Business Belt (ISBB) with success in science and technology business as appropriate countermeasures about breaking the 'Valley of Death.
The Internet has been identified as the worlds fastest growing marketplace with seemingly limitless opportunities for marketing products and services. Logistics service quality is considered an essential strategy for success and survival in today's internet environment. Logistics excellence has become a powerful source of competitive differentiation within diverse marketing offerings of internet firms. The quality of logistics service performance is a key marketing component that helps create customer satisfaction. As the business environment has changed, the operations based definition of logistics service have evolved. The objective of this study is to examine the logistics service quality in internet shopping mall and the impact of logistics service quality on customer satisfaction. The quality factors of logistics service in this study are consist of five quality factor. The survey result is drive from a man experienced in used internet shopping mall. The finding suggest that logistics service quality of five factor had a positive effort on customer satisfaction. Specifically, timeliness had the most consistent positive effort on customer satisfaction.

This paper proposes a new model to· evaluate the effectiveness of websites using balanced scorecard (BSC) and weighted formula based methods.fisrt, we Use BSC method to find out the cause-and-effect relationships between the measure and website activities, and our proposed model evaluates website performance from six perspectives: business value, operational excellence, customer value, website interface, management, maintenance, and learning and innovation. Next, we usedformula-based approach to identify what makes website performance low by developing the evaluation formula through investigating website users; finally, case studies of two famous websites are given to show how our method can be used Our evaluation model can not only evaluate website performance but also suggest how to improve performance.
Purpose - The study aims to examine the students' perspective (stream wise) of parameters affecting the undergraduate engineering education system present in a private technical institution in NCR, Haryana, India. Research design, data, and methodology - It is a descriptive type of research in nature. Questionnaire Based Survey has been used to collect the data. The sample size for the study is 500 comprising of the students respondents. The sample has been taken randomly and the questionnaire was filled by the students (pursuing B. Tech) chosen on the random basis from a private technical educational institution in NCR, Haryana, India. For data analysis and conclusion of the results of the survey, statistical tool like F test was performed with the help of high quality software; SPSS. Conclusion - Analysis of variance revealed statistically no difference between the mean number of the groups (stream wise) for the parameters "Selection", "Academic Excellence", "Infrastructure", "Personality Development and Industry Exposure" and "Management and Administration". While Analysis of variance revealed statistically difference between the mean numbers of the groups for the parameter "Placements".
Modern management considers customer satisfaction as a baseline standard of performance and a possible standard of excellence for any business organization including the college. Quality function deployment(QFD) is a structured approach to seek out voice of customers, understanding their needs, and ensure that their needs are met. The strategy value proposed by Chien et al. combines importance, satisfaction, performance, and ability to enhance decision making effectiveness. But in their model, the correlation among the strategic alternatives isn't considered the decision chain and is therefore eliminated. This paper proposes how to calculate the new weight of columns to consider various strength levels of correlations matrix, representing the correlation among the strategic alternatives, using normalization procedure. The aim of this paper is to present and original customer satisfaction survey conducted in the college. Thus, this paper presents an original customer satisfaction survey in the college and provides to demonstrate the practical usage of the design model to compare this model with Chien's model.
How to measure Quality Performance (QP) or excellence performance in organizations is very important for improving the quality of an organization's products and services. This paper takes Quality Function Deployment (QFD) as a useful tool to identify the key characteristics of quality performance and measure the influence factors on quality performance. Most national quality awards provide a framework of the criteria to show the essential elements of an organization's quality performance and get the Quality Performance Score (QPS) by self-assessment using the criteria. By means of these criteria, especially, the criteria of China Quality Award (CQA), a measurable indicator system for quality performance is set up. A four-phase QFD model of assessment for quality performance is developed. This QFD model not only presents the most important efforts for the deployment of the measurable indicators of quality performance, but also takes great advantage of evaluating the quality performance and obtaining the quality performance score. The measurable indicator hierarchy of quality performance is formed and its implementation method for assessment quality performance is described in this paper.
Korean card firms suffered harsh setbacks due to high credit defaults in 2002 and 2003, after issuing cards recklessly. Their key principle is changed to grow without damaging profitability and financial soundness. However, competition in the credit card market is heating up rapidly. Bank-affiliated card firms, having stronger sales networks and more capital than independent issuers, have increased their investments in card affiliates in a bid to develop new cash cows. Moreover, newly emerging independent card firms have waged fiercer campaigns to raise their credit card market share. In order to overcome these business conditions, S-card has settled on a strategy that focuses on stepping up marketing aimed at increasing charge card spending rather than credit card loans or cash lending services. Accordingly, S-card reformed the current business classification system of merchants, which was out-of-dated and originally built for the purpose of deciding merchant service fees only. They also drove customer segmentation planning to deliver the right customers to the right merchants. In this paper, we emphasize the problems of business classification systems of merchants with which most credit card firms have faced, and the need for reforming them not only to provide customer-tailored services but also to raise their business promotion excellence by reviewing S-card's process of customer segmentation.
Measuring Information Technology(IT) organizations' activities have been limited to mainly measure financial indicators for a long time. However, according to the multifarious functions of Information System, a number of researches have been done for the new trends on measurement methodologies that come with financial measurement as well as new measurement methods. Especially, the researches on IT Balanced Scorecard(BSC), concept from BSC measuring IT activities have been done as well in recent years. BSC provides more advantages than only integration of non-financial measures in a performance measurement system. The core of BSC rests on the cause-and-effect relationships between measures to allow prediction of value chain performance measures to allow prediction of value chain performance measures, communication, and realization of the corporate strategy and incentive controlled actions. More recently, BSC proponents have focused on the need to tie measures together into a causal chain of performance, and to test the validity of these hypothesized effects to guide the development of strategy. Kaplan and Norton[2001] argue that one of the primary benefits of the balanced scorecard is its use in gauging the success of strategy. Norreklit[2000] insist that the cause-and-effect chain is central to the balanced scorecard. The cause-and-effect chain is also central to the IT BSC. However, prior researches on relationship between information system and enterprise strategies as well as connection between various IT performance measurement indicators are not so much studied. Ittner et al.[2003] report that 77% of all surveyed companies with an implemented BSC place no or only little interest on soundly modeled cause-and-effect relationships despite of the importance of cause-and-effect chains as an integral part of BSC. This shortcoming can be explained with one theoretical and one practical reason[Blumenberg and Hinz, 2006]. From a theoretical point of view, causalities within the BSC method and their application are only vaguely described by Kaplan and Norton. From a practical consideration, modeling corporate causalities is a complex task due to tedious data acquisition and following reliability maintenance. However, cause-and effect relationships are an essential part of BSCs because they differentiate performance measurement systems like BSCs from simple key performance indicator(KPI) lists. KPI lists present an ad-hoc collection of measures to managers but do not allow for a comprehensive view on corporate performance. Instead, performance measurement system like BSCs tries to model the relationships of the underlying value chain in cause-and-effect relationships. Therefore, to overcome the deficiencies of causal modeling in IT BSC, sound and robust causal modeling approaches are required in theory as well as in practice for offering a solution. The propose of this study is to suggest critical success factors(CSFs) and KPIs for measuring performance for IT organizations and empirically validate the casual relationships between those CSFs. For this purpose, we define four perspectives of BSC for IT organizations according to Van Grembergen's study[2000] as follows. The Future Orientation perspective represents the human and technology resources needed by IT to deliver its services. The Operational Excellence perspective represents the IT processes employed to develop and deliver the applications. The User Orientation perspective represents the user evaluation of IT. The Business Contribution perspective captures the business value of the IT investments. Each of these perspectives has to be translated into corresponding metrics and measures that assess the current situations. This study suggests 12 CSFs for IT BSC based on the previous IT BSC's studies and COBIT 4.1. These CSFs consist of 51 KPIs. We defines the cause-and-effect relationships among BSC CSFs for IT Organizations as follows. The Future Orientation perspective will have positive effects on the Operational Excellence perspective. Then the Operational Excellence perspective will have positive effects on the User Orientation perspective. Finally, the User Orientation perspective will have positive effects on the Business Contribution perspective. This research tests the validity of these hypothesized casual effects and the sub-hypothesized causal relationships. For the purpose, we used the Partial Least Squares approach to Structural Equation Modeling(or PLS Path Modeling) for analyzing multiple IT BSC CSFs. The PLS path modeling has special abilities that make it more appropriate than other techniques, such as multiple regression and LISREL, when analyzing small sample sizes. Recently the use of PLS path modeling has been gaining interests and use among IS researchers in recent years because of its ability to model latent constructs under conditions of nonormality and with small to medium sample sizes(Chin et al., 2003). The empirical results of our study using PLS path modeling show that the casual effects in IT BSC significantly exist partially in our hypotheses.
Our society is increasingly dependent on the Internet, and this trend will be accelerating in the ear of All-IP convergence. As the core infrastructure of the All-IP convergence, the next generation Internet should enable end-to-end Quality of Service(e2e QoS). For that purpose, major international standardization institutes such as ITU(International Telecommunication Union) and IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force) are building the concept and architecture of the Next Generation Network(NGN). However, these institutes focus only on technical issues, and leave many business/policy-oriented challenges unresolved. For example, the standards raised by ITU assume that the entire service delivery process for e2e QoS services is perfectly working. But required is a standardized business interface and process for seamless inter-operations across many stakeholders including ISPs(Internet Service Providers), CPs(Content Providers), so on. On the other hand, TMF(TeleManagement Forum) and QuEST(Quality Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunication) Forum, global consortiums of telecom operators and vendors, present sets of interface rules and process which playa crucial role as de facto standards: for example, NGOSS/eTOM and TL9000 authorization system. However, these standards focus on telephone services, and provide little principle for the next generation Internet. Our study seeks a way to combine these two strains for a successful implementation of NGN. In particular, we find a missing link in the NGN architecture and the elements that could be complemented with the help of NGOSS/eTOM and TL9000. Finally, presented is a strategic direction that our standardization policy should purse in order to reinforce our global leadership for the next generation Internet.
