It aims to examine how individual characteristics affect purchasing behavior in response to social environmental changes. Design/Methodology/Approach - This study targeted individuals who have experience purchasing convenience store lunches in Korea and collected 201 survey responses. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Multiple Regression Analysis were employed to analyze the data. Findings - Individual consumption values significantly influenced consumption tendencies. Additionally it was found that both consumption values and consumption tendencies have some significant impact on repurchase intention. However, certain factors had a significant influence specifically in the context of negative relationships, which was analyzed to be influenced by social environmental changes. Research Implications and Limitations - This study verified the clear relationship between consumption values, consumption tendencies, and repurchase intention, such as product purchase. However, it also verified that the relationship of these factors does not necessarily have a strictly positive impact. It suggests that future marketing research should also investigate factors such as the increase of single-person households and social environmental changes.

  • The earlier studies have verified that brand values have significant impact on financial values such as stock return and stock price to justify marketing costs for brand building. Except for Mizik and Jacobson (2008), however, little research has addressed what kinds of brand components composing brand values have a significant relationship with financial values. As a follow-up research of Mizik and Jacobson (2008), this research focuses on what kinds of relationships exist between the unanticipated change of each brand asset component and stock return, one of the financial values. The authors selected six brand asset components from the Korea-Brand Power Index(K-BPI) data in which 'Top of Mind,' 'Unaided Awareness,' and 'Aided Awareness' are brand awareness measures and 'Image,' 'Purchase Intention,' and 'Preference' are brand loyalty measures. Out of those six brand components, they found that unanticipated changes of 'Top of Mind,' 'Unaided Awareness,' 'Image,' and 'Preference' have significantly positive effect on unexpected stock return change. Therefore, they conclude that these four brand asset components provide incremental information in explaining unanticipated stock return.

  • The research objectives are to study the implementation of Islamic Corporate Social Responsibility (i-CSR) values in BMT UGT Sidogiri, an Islamic microfinance institution in Indonesia based on Islamic boarding school or pesantren. This research employed a post-positivist paradigm. Data observation was performed by conducting an in-depth interview with several informants. The data analysis utilized an interactive model technique. The research results showed that i-CSR was successfully implemented in the Islamic microfinance institution based on Islamic boarding school due to the mutual passion (convergence) with conventional CSR typologies. The convergence is in two ways, firstly managerial behavior that focuses on protecting company stakeholders, second, creating sustainable corporate values through effective and efficient business activities. The orientation is the creation of a social role based on justice and sustainable development. The convergence is mainly in the dimensions of economic, legal, ethical and philanthropic responsibilities. The Islamic values have enriched the implementation of i-CSR as the form of practicing the teachings of Islam and evidence of human servitude to God so that the behaviors become worthy of worship. The implementation of i-CSR focused on the Islamic teachings. Compliance to Islamic jurisprudence and apply it in business activities became a divergent element of conventional CSR concept.

  • Innovation has become a key distinct feature of modern industrial society. It is generally recognized that new knowledge and technology are one of the most important sources of innovation. However, because of their limited resources, firms can not pursue all the promising new knowledge and technology that have possibilities to be developed into critical innovation. In this article, using the stakeholder theory, we try to establish a new conceptual model that can be used for understanding knowledge creation and innovation in society. In a society, there exist diverse socio-economic groups that have conflicting values and interests. Our stakeholder theory perspective on innovation claims that innovation can occur only when new solutions can satisfy their idiosyncratic stakeholder' values and interests better than current existing solutions. From the viewpoint of stakeholder innovation theory, there could be three different types of innovation: value improvement innovation, non-traditional value Innovation, and innovation for non-traditional stakeholder.
