Design and Implementation of Web-based Electronic Bidding System using XML (웹 기반의 XML을 활용한 전자 입찰 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • The area of business applications in the internet are extended enormously in result of fast development of computing and communication technologies, increase of internet use, and use of intranet/extranet in enterprise information system. Widely spread the use of the internet, there are various applications for Business to Business (B to B) or Business to Customer(B to C) model that are based on the intranet or extranet. This paper designed and implemented the Web-based Electronic Bidding System for Business to Business (B to B) model. The technical issues of electronic bidding system in the internet are involved in the connection between web client and server, electronic data interchange for the contract document, and security solution during the bidding and contracting processes. The web-based electronic bidding system in this paper is implemented using Java applet and servlet as a connection interface for web client and server, XML/EDI-based documents for a bid and a contract, and bidding server and notary server for enhancing the security using PKI(Public Key Infrastructure)-based public key cryptography, digital signature and Certification Authority(CA).

  • The problem of the previous proprietary e-business systems is that they are not built upon well defined standards, which causes difficulties in extension of the system and interoperation among them. Therefore, a new e-business standard, ebXML, and related XML standards such as SOAP and XML Signature have been recommended for e-business systems. In this paper, as an application of the new XML standards, we design and implement a new internet bidding system. We use XML Schema for defining the document structure of the bidding system. DOM is used for structure search and XSL is used to represent styles. We use SOAP to handle distributed objects and XML Signature to provide data integrity. Due to the adoption of e-business standards, the developed system has advantages in interoperability and extensibility compared to previous systems.

  • In this paper, we propose a system that allows small business owners focusing on the restaurant business to easily understand the management situation, and to manage the operation and management centering on the cost of food materials and profits and losses. In general, the metadata structure is different depending on the POS system, so it is necessary to first develop a standardized metadata model for a food material cost management system for small business owners in various industries. For that reason, the system proposed in this paper was applied to the cost management app by referring to the development of a data model using the metadata standard. In addition, in order to implement a cost profit/loss management system for small business owners in the restaurant industry, it was designed to support standardized metadata models from various types of POS systems, and is a hybrid app that can support a smart environment.   • One of the most important challenges facing companies in the age of internet business is the proper alignment customers needs with internet business system that allaws them to react rapidly and continuously. This paper proposes a methodo1ogy to align analyzing customer's requirements with implementing Internet business system The methodology consists of five Phases. It covers from customer analysis to Internet business system implementation, and each of the five phases has its own activities and outputs. A real- world case is proposed to illustrate the application of the methodology.

  • In this paper, we describe the latest LCD driving technology which helps to realize the stereoscopic 3D display system with FHD resolution by using the 240Hz LCD panel. The 240Hz LCD system has two times more data than current 120Hz and can cover the crosstalk due to the progressive scan.

  • There have been several complications and problems about marine ranching policy. Regional conflicts have occurred in the process of selecting land for the pasture. And conflict occurred in post-management process. The causes of these conflicts were pointed out to lack of social science research and alternatives. The government-led initiative model, which ignores participation in each sector, has been pointed out as a problem. In order to increase the effectiveness of the marine ranching project, the following points should be considered. First, at the stage of establishing the ocean ranch business plan, social science approach should be considered together with natural science approach. Second, a governance system should be established to enhance the effectiveness of the marine ranch project. The governance system refers to a consultative body in which the central government and local governments, autonomous steering committees, research institutes, local civil society organizations, and participating companies participate. We can improve the efficiency of business by establishing and promoting direction, operation policy, and action plan of sea pasture business centering on governance system. Third, it is necessary to change the management system from the existing administration-led business model to the cooperative governance system - based model. The effectiveness of the marine ranching project can be improved through the governance system.

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose alternatives to help for the aged to implement start business as a method to recreate the aged population for their second life. There are three considerations that supports start business for the elderly. The first is to reinforce educational support system for the aged. Through the lifelong education, the aged require easy start business' information. This is not only goverment's job, a local autonomous entity is to support in the form of organic organization. The second is the maintenance of financial support system. Besides start business education, various financial support system must serve for the aged to challenge their start business enthusiastically. The last consideration is formation of start business network that joins the aged efficiently. Based on these aspects, the application for increasing elderly human resource is to consider both employment program of the aged and also start business program for them.

  • This study tests e-business performance difference of the inter group by strategy type through the cluster analysis, after confirming the linear relationship between the e-business strategy type and its performance. According to the result of the study the effect on the e-business performance reveals to differ by the e-business strategy type. That is to say, while the firm's information system performance, e-business realization and the inter group competition dominance are affected positively by the e-process strategy, web application strategy and customer attracting strategy. This confirms that the information system performance, the realization performance and the competition dominance are affected by e - business strategy type. The key factor leading to the success of e-business is the commitment of e-process strategy and web application strategy. For the case of the customer attracting strategy the result shows the importance of the strategy. In the cluster group analysis, the additional analysis, the effect is seen to be more powerful in the firm's information system performance, e - business realization and securing the competition advantage for the case of the multiple strategy than that of single one. Accordingly, the firm needs to adopt the multiple strategy suited for the characteristic of the firm rather than the single strategy.

  • Purpose - Due to highly elevated levels of competition, many companies today have to face the problem of decreasing profits even when their actual sales volume is increasing. This is a common phenomenon that is seen occurring among companies that focus heavily on quantitative growth rather than qualitative growth. These two aspects of growth should be well balanced for a company to create a sustainable business model. For supply chain management (SCM) planners, the optimized, quantified flow of resources used to be of major interest for decades. However, this trend is rapidly changing so that managers can put the appropriate balance between sales volume and sales quality, which can be evaluated from the profit margin. Profit optimization is a methodology for companies to use to achieve solutions focused more on profitability than sales volume. In this study, we attempt to provide executional insight for companies considering implementation of the profit optimization system to enhance their business profitability. Research design, data, and methodology - In this study, we present a comprehensive explanation of the subject of profit optimization, including the fundamental concepts, the most common profit optimization logic algorithm -linear programming -the business functional scope of the profit optimization system, major key success factors for implementing the profit optimization system at a business organization, and weekly level detailed business processes to actively manage effective system performance in achieving the goals of the system. Additionally, for the purpose of providing more realistic and practical information, we carefully investigate a profit optimization system implementation case study project fulfilled for company S. The project duration was about eight months, with four full-time system development consultants deployed for the period. To guarantee the project's success, the organization adopted a proven system implementation methodology, supply chain management (SCM) six-sigma. SCM six-sigma was originally developed by a group of talented consultants within Samsung SDS through focused efforts and investment in synthesizing SCM and six-sigma to improve and innovate their SCM operations across the entire Samsung Organization. Results - Profit optimization can enable a company to create sales and production plans focused on more profitable products and customers, resulting in sustainable growth. In this study, we explain the concept of profit optimization and prerequisites for successful implementation of the system. Furthermore, the efficient way of system security administration, one of the hottest topics today, is also addressed. Conclusion - This case study can benefit numerous companies that are eagerly searching for ways to break-through current profitability levels. We cannot guarantee that the decision to deploy the profit optimization system will bring success, but we can guarantee that with the help of our study, companies trying to implement profit optimization systems can minimize various possible risks across various system implementation phases. The actual system implementation case of the profit optimization project at company S introduced here can provide valuable lessons for both business organizations and research communities.

A Study on the Effect of Performance and Business Management According to ERP Investment (경영정보시스템 도입비용에 따른 활용 및 경영기여에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 - 전자부품 제조업에서의 ERP도입 활용과 경영기여도를 중심으로 -)

  • The main purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing the implementation performance of ERP system from the investment such as hardware, software and consulting fee. The main goal of this study to analyze of ERP system implementation in various sections depending on the amount of investment and research about the contribution of ERP utilization on overall PCB business activities. Survey questionnaires were distributed via post and fax to PCB (Printed Circuit Board)Company in Korea. The results of this study can be summarized as follow. First, only 43.1% of respondents implemented ERP system at the enterprise level, which shows that ERP system does not completely play its role as a truly integrated system. Second, companies shows higher satisfaction rate with selectively invested on particular sub-modules. Third, the efficiency of ERP system can be maximized by improving efficiency on core areas through selective investments. Also, this can be maximized by performing overall investments on the general environment in addition to the direct investment on ERP. Lastly, 59.26% of respondents reported that the utilization of ERP has highly significant effects on the contribution of business whereas 29.63% respondents reported as significant effects on the business. These shows positive effects of ERP on the contribution of business.
