Development of Adverse Drug Event Surveillance System using BI Technology (BI기술을 적용한 약물부작용감시시스템 개발)

  • In this study, we are analysing adverse drug events and proposing a technical structure of "adverse drug event surveillance system" using business intelligence technology, hoping that we can use the system commonly and actively. It is the recent trend to adopt both of electronic review and manual review process to surveil adverse drug events and this study construct CDW applying ETL in BI Technology. As the result of analysis, the data pool included 701 doctors who prescribed and 3059 patients(1528 male, 1531 female), of total 318,222 cases, 2,086cases(0.6%) were suspected as having adverse drug events. And the single type of T.bilirubin> 3mg/dL(ADE type-LabR0005) was the most common(548 among 2085 cases) within the framework of signals.

  • 현재 우리나라의 온라인 관련 산업 즉 온라인 쇼핑, 인터넷 게임 등 온라인에서 고객을 접하는 산업의 경우 CRM의 붐이 일던 시절에 CRM을 도입하고 분석하고 있으나 그 실효성에 대한 문제가 발생하고 있으며 실제 실행 전략적 측면에서 접근 하지 못하여 투자 대비 효과가 미비하다는 판단을 하고 있습니다. 특히 게임사의 경우 다양한 고객 접근 채널을 중심으로 다각적 분석이 요구 됨에 있어 그 근간을 설정하지 못하고 고객에 대한 정확한 정의 또한 내리지 못하고 있는 현실에서 CIM 기반 BI 실행 접근 전략 방법을 통하여 온라인 게임 산업의 발전을 도모하고 중장기적 매출 증대를 위한 고객 관리 실행 전략을 소개하고자 합니다.

  • 급변하는 경영환경 속에서 경쟁력을 확보하기 위해서 많은 기업들이 ERP 시스템을 중심으로 통합된 기간계 시스템을 구축하여 운영하고 있다. 기간계 시스템의 안정화를 이룬 기업들은 그 다음 과제로 전략적 의사결정을 지원하는 정보계 시스템으로 관심을 돌리고 있다. 이런 관점에서 최근 비즈니스 인텔리전스에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있으며 관련 연구도 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 최근 2년간 국제 저널 및 컨퍼런스에서 발표된 BI 관련 논문 61편을 분석하여 BI 연구의 추세를 확인하고 이를 기반으로 향후 연구 방향을 도출하고자 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 연구자들에게 BI 연구 현황 및 방향에 대한 정보를 제공하고, 실무자들에게는 BI 활용 방안에 대한 아이디어를 제공함으로써 기업에서의 BI 도입 및 활용에 실질적인 도움을 주고자 하는 것이다.

Business Processes Automation and Analysis Techniques by Using BPM and SOA (BPM과 SOA기반의 비즈니스 프로세스 자동화와 분석기법)

  • Recently, a combination of Business Process Management (BPM) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is being recommended as the best approach for automating large business systems. And the need to create meaningful information from daily operational data is increased today. In this paper, we propose a methodology for automating business processes based on the BPM-SOA convergence trend and verify the methodology by implementing the project management business process. BPM-SOA convergence provides higher extensibility and productivity due to the loosely coupled system construction and maintenance. The system has good properties for frequent process changes and reuse of duplicate processes. We then analyze extensibility of the system as new business processes are added to the existing system. We finally analyze the data generated by BPM by using SAP business intelligence to support management's decision making and strategy. Business intelligence provides not only useful data for business decisions but also chance to optimize the business processes.

Business Intelligence and Marketing Insights in an Era of Big Data: The Q-sorting Approach

  • The purpose of this study is to qualitatively identify the typologies and characteristics of the big data marketing strategy in major companies that are taking advantage of the big data business in Korea. Big data means piles accumulated from converging platforms such as computing infrastructures, smart devices, social networking and new media, and big data is also an analytic technique itself. Numerous enterprises have grown conscious that big data can be a most significant resource or capability since the issue of big data recently surfaced abruptly in Korea. Companies will be obliged to design their own implementing plans for big data marketing and to customize their own analytic skills in the new era of big data, which will fundamentally transform how businesses operate and how they engage with customers, suppliers, partners and employees. This research employed a Q-study, which is a methodology, model, and theory used in 'subjectivity' research to interpret professional panels' perceptions or opinions through in-depth interviews. This method includes a series of q-sorting analysis processes, proposing 40 stimuli statements (q-sample) compressed out of about 60 (q-population) and explaining the big data marketing model derived from in-depth interviews with 20 marketing managers who belong to major companies(q-sorters). As a result, this study makes fundamental contributions to proposing new findings and insights for small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) and policy makers that need guidelines or direction for future big data business.

  • Manufacturing Information System is a information system which supports the activities such as production planning, workflow management, work stage control. Manufacturing fields are showing new properties in today such as digital information, globalization, integration, to make sophisticated production. In this paper, we descibe major issues in current systems. Eventually, we propose major factors to adapt for new changes and BI systems to support manufacturing production information system based on the major factors.

  • Mobile-Office is the IT office that enables people handle their business anywhere and anytime without going to head office. It has propagated rapidly in domestic and foreign companies as the users who use mobile terminal such as smartphone have increased sharply. Mobile-Office is emerging as a new way of conducting business. It requires business environment to be changed to improve business efficiency, as fast-growing mobile-based economies emerges. Small and medium-sized companies's utilization ability for advanced IT technology is insufficient, and limitations exist on capacity of building and investment. They need different development methodologies and utilization methods. The purpose of this study is not only to consider the previous business environment problem on accessibility, mobility, effectiveness, complexity and consolidation, but to search more efficient methods for introducing applications to utilize various smart devices and websites with minimum investment in R&D.

  • 데이터 웨어하우스가 발전함에 따라 통합된 메타데이터는 구현뿐만 아니라 활용측면에서도 중요성이 부각되면서 이제는 전략적인 비즈니스 자산으로 여겨지고 있다. 이러한 메타데이터 표준으로 OMG(Object Management Group)에서는 CWM(Common Warehouse MetaModel)을 웨어하우스와 BI(Business intelligence)의 표준으로 채택하였다. 그러나 소프트웨어 개발 업체들간의 메타데이터 상호교환 중심으로 구현됨으로써 CWM을 사용한 메타데이터의 활용 및 저변확대가 안되고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해서 CWM을 기반으로 한 레파지토리(Repository)를 설계 및 구현함으로써 CWM로 생성된 메타데이터를 저장, 보관하여 비즈니스적인 활용이 가능하도록 하였다. 또한 이러한 연구를 통하여 데이터 웨어하우스 분야에서도 MDA(Model Driven Architecture)기반의 설계 및 구현이 될 것으로 전망된다.

  • Nowadays, manufacturing field are facing new challenges, through digital information and global integration, toward sophisticated production. This paper presents the system configuration and issues of current manufacturing execution system(MES), and describes major issues and solving elements to establish a MES system for cloud services. Also, it proposes business intelligence(BI) systems for building a manufacturing information system to have the optimized production flow and to respond appropriately to consumer market.

  • Database query and reporting tools, OLAP tools and data mining tools are typical front-end tools in Business Intelligence environment which is able to support gathering, consolidating and analyzing data produced from business operation activities and provide access to the result to enterprise's users. Traditional reporting tools have an advantage of creating sophisticated dynamic reports including SQL query result sets, which look like documents produced by word processors, and publishing the reports to the Web environment, but data source for the tools is limited to RDBMS. On the other hand, OLAP tools and data mining tools have an advantage of providing powerful information analysis functions on each own way, but built-in visualization components for analysis results are limited to tables or some charts. Thus, this paper presents a system that integrates three typical front-end tools to complement one another for BI environment. Traditional reporting tools only have a query editor for generating SQL statements to bring data from RDBMS. However, the reporting tool presented by this paper can extract data also from OLAP and data mining servers, because editors for OLAP and data mining query requests are added into this tool. Traditional systems produce all documents in the server side. This structure enables reporting tools to avoid repetitive process to generate documents, when many clients intend to access the same dynamic document. But, because this system targets that a few users generate documents for data analysis, this tool generates documents at the client side. Therefore, the tool has a processing mechanism to deal with a number of data despite the limited memory capacity of the report viewer in the client side. Also, this reporting tool has data structure for integrating data from three kinds of data sources into one document. Finally, most of traditional front-end tools for BI are dependent on data source architecture from specific vendor. To overcome the problem, this system uses XMLA that is a protocol based on web service to access to data sources for OLAP and data mining services from various vendors.
