  • When constructing a component based system, It is understood that identifying reusable and independent business components is of utmost importance. However, according to conventional component based developing methodologies, most of developers depend on their experience and/or intuition for identification of business components. Furthermore, there are no criteria to evaluate whether the identified business components are more independently defined or not. Therefore, we propose a component identification metrics to apply to component properties In order to complement the difficulties of identifying business components through developers' experience and/or intuition. The metrics defined are the criteria for identifying the business Components and/or for evaluating the Identified components. We propose both a cohesion metric, and a coupling metric, to which component properties are applied, wherein those properties can be understood by high cohesion in, and low coupling between, components. Moreover, we propose an independence metric that can evaluate the degree of independence for a particular component by ratio of the cohesion and coupling of components. The metrics that we propose are applied to case study which demonstrates the identification of more independent business components and the validity of our metrics.

  • It is difficult to identify reusable and independent components in component-based development(CBD) process. Therefore existing methodologies have dealt the problem of component identification based on only developer's intuition and heuristics. As a result, it is difficult to identify the business components by common developers. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new baseline and technique to identify the business components based on domain model such as use case diagrams, class diagrams, and sequence diagrams. proposed method identifies components through two phases; system component identification and business component identification. Especially, we consider structural characteristics as well as dependency characteristics according to methods call types and directions in identifying components. We also present a case study and comparative analysis and assessment to prove the practical use of our technique.

  • Component-based development is being generalized as the spread of software reuse technology for rapid development productivity and high quality software. In the CBD, the identification of independent and reusable component is the one of important tasks for component-based system development. Because existing methodologies providing component identification techniques provide techniques based on heuristic techniques of component developer, it is difficult for general developers to identify components using these methods. Therefore, this paper suggests new identification factors and a technique by considering dependency characteristics according to method call types and method call directions and dependency degree. Furthermore, proposed technique is verified through case study; business components based on system components are identified effectively.

  • We need a component-based system to reflect software changes in user's requirements, to implement a system at a rapid speed as well as to efficiently manage the system in a maintenance phase and to easily change software. Moreover, the component-based system has a merit in development cost. However, existing component development methodology for implement of component-based system is inefficient in object identification for component identification. Moreover, the existing component development methodology also fails to provide any method to identify system component. It merely provides procedures and methods to identify business component focused on a whole system domain. In addition, it has another problem that it considerably relies on developer's experiences and intuitions for component identification. Therefore, according to this paper, RUP (Rational Unified Process) is applied from a requirement analysis phase to an object identification phase in order to improve the inefficiency of object identification. In addition, this paper procedures and methods for system component identification, and identifies business components based on the identified system component, rather than on the whole system domain. This paper also provides and applies cohesion metric and coupling metric so as to overcome the problem that component identification depends on developer's intuitions and experiences. Accordingly, the component identification method proposed in this paper, may identify components more effectively based on facility of object identification, functional reusability of components, traceability, and independence of components.

  • Several companies have migrated their existing monolithic web applications to microservice architectures. Consequently, research on the identification of microservices from monolithic web applications has been conducted. Meanwhile, the use-case model plays a crucial role in outlining the system's functionalities at a high level of abstraction, and studies have been conducted to identify microservices by utilizing this model. However, previous studies on microservice identification utilizing use-cases did not consider the components executed in the presentation layer. Unlike existing approaches, this paper proposes a technique that considers all three layers of web applications (presentation, business logic, and data access layers). Initially, the components used in the three layers of a web application are extracted by executing all the scenarios that constitute its use-cases. Thereafter, the usage rate of each component is determined for each use-case and the component is allocated to the use-case with the highest rate. Then, each use-case is realized as a microservice. To verify the proposed approach, microservice identification is performed using open-source web applications.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this research is that Metaverse platforms' UXBDI can be distinguished among Metaverse platform channel types. Metaverse platform represents a collective term signifying services that include augmented reality, lifelogging, mirror worlds, and virtual worlds. User Experience-Based Design Innovativeness (UXBDI) is characterized by novelty in product design and services that satisfy user experience. This study examined the effect of Metaverse platforms' UXBDI on user-Metaverse platform relationships. Research design, data and methodology: Metaverse platform users were selected as samples, and a marketing research institution known as a panel company conducted the survey. It used multiple regression to test the impact on platform identification and commitment based on a survey of 442 South Korean respondents. Results: The research confirmed that UXBDI sub-dimensional scales of attractiveness and interaction increased user-Metaverse platform identification and commitment. Also, a Metaverse platform identity increased user-Metaverse platform identification in virtual and mirror worlds. Conclusion: This study contributes to multiple academic fields. First, the UXBDI of Metaverse platforms appears to be a key component of ongoing user-Metaverse relationships. Second, UXBDI affects relationships differently based on the Metaverse platform type.

  • The primary goal of this study is to investigate the impact of social capital on consumer attitudinal evaluations. We propose a hypothetical receptacle, thereby applying a mediation framework because of social capital. We expect that increasing social capital would improve brand image and consumer-company (C-C) identification, resulting in positive in-role and extra-role customer behavior toward the brand. Data was collected from 425 respondents primarily from Karachi's five zones (East, West, North, South, and Central) and analyzed using confirmatory component analysis and structural equation design. The findings showed that social capital had a positive and significant relationship with customer extra-role behavior, as well as two mediators, brand image and consumer business identity. Furthermore, both mediators have a significant impact on both in-role and extra-role behavior. However, there is no evidence that social capital has a direct impact on in-role behavior. This study will help businesses in gaining a competitive advantage by concentrating on social capital to improve their brand image and customer relationship.

  • Service-oriented computing systems have been issued by their properties of reducing software development time and effort by reusing functional service units. The reusability of services can effectively promote through loose coupling between services. But strong associations of object-oriented systems such as inheritance and aggregation create a rather tight coupling between objects. The component-based systems without inheritance and aggregation create a loose coupling between components. Thus components provide service realization at runtime using the functionality provided by their interfaces. Therefore legacy component-based systems need to have service-oriented computing concept in order to support functional service units efficiently. Also, conventional methods for service-oriented computing system have not suggested the clear classification of service layers, the clear service identification guideline introducing service layers and a service mapping method between serviceces of each layer. Therefore we suggest the service classification and the identification guideline of business view and implementation view introducing layers and propose a mapping between two views. That is, we research service layers, service identification, diversified service sizes and a service mapping method between services of each layer. This can be applied to legacy component-based system to extend to the service-oriented computing system.

  • The next generation of web applications will need to be larger, more complex, and flexible Agent-oriented systems have great potential for these e-commerce applications. Agents can dynamically discover and compose e-services and mediate interactions. Development of software agents with CBD (Component Based Development) has proved to be successful in increasing speed to market of development Projects, lowering the development cost and providing better qualify. In this thesis, we propose a systemic development process for software agents using component and UML (Unified Modeling Language). We suggest a etA (e-business Agent) CBD reference architecture for layer the related components through identification and classification of general agent and e-business agent. We also propose the ebA-CBD process that is a guideline to consider the best features of existing agent oriented software engineering methodologies, while grounding agent-oriented concepts in the same underlying semantic framework used by UML. We first developed the agent components specification and modeled it with Goal, Role, Interaction, and Architecture Model. Based on this, we developed e-CPIMAS (e-Commerce Product Information Mailing Agent System) as a case study that provides the product information's mailing service according to proposed process formality. We finally describe how these concepts may assist in increasing the efficiency reusability, productivity and quality to develop the business application and e-business agent.
