  • In this paper, we propose a method of decision on blurring for business card images using block classification. In the proposed method, an input image is partitioned into 8${\times}$8 blocks and each block is classified into character block or background block using a block energy calculated in DCT domain. Whether the input image is blurring or non-blurring is determined using a ratio of low frequency energy and high frequency energy in DCT domain. Experimental results show that the proposed block classification classifies block well and the proposed decision on blurring decides well for various business card images.

  • In this paper, we dealt with substantial asset analysis methodology applied to two-dimensional asset classification and qualitative evaluation method according to the business process. Most of the existent risk analysis methodology and tools presented classification by asset type and physical evaluation by a quantitative method. We focused our research on qualitative evaluation with 2-dimensional asset classification. It converts from quantitative asset value with purchase cost, recovery and exchange cost, etc. to qualitative evaluation considering specific factors related to the business process. In the first phase, we classified the IT assets into tangible and intangible assets, including human and information data asset, and evaluated their value. Then, we converted the quantitative asset value to the qualitative asset value using a conversion standard table. In the second phase, we reclassified the assets using 2-dimensional classification factors reflecting the business process, and applied weight to the first evaluation results. This method is to consider the organization characteristics, IT asset structure scheme and business process. Therefore, we can evaluate the concrete and substantial asset value corresponding to the organization business process, even if they are the same asset type.

  • The literature has reported that hierarchical classification methods generally outperform the flat classification methods for a multi-class document classification problem. Unlike the literature that has constructed a class hierarchy, this paper evaluates the performance of hierarchical and flat classification methods under a situation where the class hierarchy is predefined. We conducted numerical evaluations for two data sets; research papers on climate change adaptation technologies in water sector and 20NewsGroup open data set. The evaluation results show that the hierarchical classification method outperforms the flat classification methods under a certain condition, which differs from the literature. The performance of hierarchical classification method over flat classification method depends on class similarities at levels in the class structure. More importantly, the hierarchical classification method works better when the upper level similarity is less that the lower level similarity.

  • The classification in the Records and Archives Sciences focuses on the contextual information in producing and utilizing records rather than their contents. This study aimed at designing an automatic records classification system to enable an automatic classification focusing on the aggregation of the context of records rather than the contents of individual record in the classification scheme, structured on the basis of business activities analyses for records reflecting the business activities. The automatic records classification system was designed to have mutual supplements by constructing the classification scheme and thesaurus together as the classification reference, as well as the aggregation of records that have been already classified. Additionally included are plans to apply the classified contextual information of records to the classification reference on the real-time base right after the category assignment of records to be classified. Although there are limitations as the designed system depends on the quality of the contextual information, it is considered that the system could lead to ensure that the contextual information of records should be more substantial.

  • In recent highly competitive business environment, collaboration has become one of the important business strategies for companies to survive and/or prosper. There are many different types of collaboration strategies, and it is crucial for companies to select the right ones according to the types of collaboration they require. To select the right type of collaboration options for business, in the past research, there have been two important criteria to classify collaboration types, namely governance (who makes key decisions - one kingpin participant or all players?) and membership (can anyone participate, or just select players?). In this research, we add a new classification criterion, recognition of collaboration purpose, which means whether collaborators know or do not know the purpose of collaboration in advance. Recently, we see many cases in which social media data are used in many unknown purposes a priori. In this research, we add such cases to develop new classification model.

  • While past knowledge management researches have focused on conceptualization and strategic implications, knowledge asset researches attempt to provide practical guidelines for companies. However, each research classifies knowledge asset from its own perspective, and thus it is not a trivial task to leverage consistent and inclusive criteria in managing corporate knowledge asset. The objective of this paper is to develop a knowledge asset classification schema on the basis of the three business functions: customer relationship management, product innovation, and infrastructure management. To demonstrate the feasibility of our schema, it has been applied to 9 Korean corporations. Knowledge assets are evaluated according to core capabilities, which are main drivers of sustainable competitive advantages. The results of case study show that the leveraged classification schema reflects current knowledge asset management and characteristics of corporations. Our finding is that most top-quality knowledge management corporations are likely to develop well-balanced knowledge asset.

  • Purpose - The business model is a method of creating corporate value, in existing "classification of business model", limitations and redundancy phenomena are applied when a new type flows in, and as consumer's purchasing decision of consumer behavior 5 steps. The classification schemes can be used for more accurate data analysis by proposing a new mapping technique in the fourth industry. Research design, data, and methodology - It was far more classified on the business model (BMS by BDS), and so on. Designing the new horizons of logistics, marketing, methodology by reclassifying these existing data to new useful data with the old methods, in order to analyze the areas where the problem has been raised for the point that the existing methods are not suitable configured. This will be applicable to the system of quaternary industry from the perspective of the buyer. Results - The mapping results of the consumer purchase decision were as follows, the 1st stage (interest) was 23.73%, 2nd stages (publicity) 33.90%, 3rd stages (sales) 13.56%, 4th stages (decision) 11.86%, 5th stages (repurchaser) 16.95%. This verified that "the business model can be classified through "BMS by BDS". Conclusions - This structural classification is the basis of logistics marketing in the 4th industry, and proposes a innovative and effective model of constructing theory.

This classification framework is investigated in the view of involvement and web technology Furthermore, this paper proposes four business web implementation strategies - impressive, simple, sensory, and semantic - based on the product classification. Proposed guidelines on business web might increase customer satisfaction.

  • There exist a number of information systems planning (ISP) methodologies. Historically these methodologies have been evolving to reflect new technologies and business requirements. In fact, it is an uneasy task to select a methodology that fits a business need. Though there have been a number of studies proposing new ISP approaches, we are unable to find much research doing a comparative analysis on existing ISP methodologies. Our study, therefore, is to present a classification scheme for ISP approaches and to provide a guideline framework for selecting an approach most suitable to a particular firm's need. Our classification utilizes types of components covered in ISP deliverables and the peculiarity of these components. Such classification scheme and selection framework would help derive an IT-driven new enterprise model more effectively.
