Land-use types should be included in air pollutant diffusion model because a complex mixture of various land-use patterns with computational grid can make errors in calculation of several parameters. However, the air pollutant diffusion model has generally been treated with a uniform component with land-use type in each mesh because of the complexity of the simulation. This study presents a numerical simulation of the horizontal distribution of $O_3$dry deposition velocity during summertime in Busan metropolitan city. The calculation of the meteorological field was conducted using the land cover data. Simulation has been performed by the following two scenarios : (1) one with current land cover data, and (2) the other with only land and sea for the surface characteristics. The results from each scenario reveals considerable differences on the meteorological fields and these differences can cause changes in the calculation values of $O_3$deposition velocity.

The energy used in Korea is strongly dependent on that produced by foreign countries. Accordingly, saving energy is more important than ever, because of the rise of international oil prices and depletion of oil resources. The development of energy efficient buildings is required especially for public buildings in Korea. In this study, the energy use of public buildings is identified. Then, the analysis of energy usage through regional offices in Busan City offers energy saving measures for public buildings.

The purpose of this study is to suggest a basis for exterior space improving in university campus in terms of upgrading the quality of university education environment by analysing user's cognition and physical feature about campus exterior space. For this, this study was survey six major university students in Busan city about perception of campus exterior space, and analyzes the user's cognition by using natural-language vocabulary analysis for qualitative approach. Next, this study analyzes the physical feature of campus exterior space by investigating user's intensive using spaces and preferred, non-preferred spaces in their universities, then propose the improved direction of campus exterior space by comparing the analyzed data of user's cognition and physical feature. A SPSS20 program is used for the data analysis and the sample sizes are 171 college students.

In this study, a survey research was conducted on government employees in Busan Metropolitan City to identify the influence of cyber education factors (learning factor, learner factor, and learning system factor) on the preference for government employee cyber education offered by the government always learning system. Analyzed results, recognition of learning factor, learner factor, and always learning system were shown to have significant influence on the preference for cyber education, but no indication of influence by always learning support. This study intends to assist stimulating voluntary participation in cyber education and active commitment in learning activities through improving learning effect and fortifying convenient informatization education, with regard to activation of cyber education and improved preference for cyber education.

This study has been carried out to confirm public opinion on city restoration project, to suggest basic direction of future city restoration, and to suggest improvement polices, and finally, to grow as self-supporting social enterprises rehabilitating local economy to stabilize themselves as a model for job creation. In this study, we reviewed city restoration projects and suggested successive model by collecting various policy data for regional social service linking them with social enterprises, and for social job creation, based on city restoration projects.

The annual variations of the urban heat island in Busan is investigated using surface temperature data measured at 3 automatic weather stations(AWSs) for the 5 years period, 2006 to 2010. Similar to previous studies, the intensity of the urban heat island is calculated using the temperature difference between downtown(Busanjin, Dongnae) and suburb(Gijang). The maximum hourly mean urban heat island are $1.4^{\circ}C$ at Busanjin site, 2300LST and $1.6^{\circ}C$ at Dongnae site, 2100LST. It occurs more often at Dongnae than Busanjin. Also the maximum hourly mean urban heat island appears in November at both sites. The urban heat island in Busan is stronger in the nighttime than in the daytime and decreases with increasing wind speed, but it is least developed in summer. Also it partly causes the increasement of nighttime PM10 concentration.

The current legislation of the Port Authority which empowers the central government to control finance, personnel management, business of the Port Authority should be amended to allow the Port Authority to exercise its authority over port management and operation by gaining authority from the central government. In addition, to enhance Busan port's competitiveness and for a successive activation of the Susan Port Authority, it is necessary for the BPA to develop its new business and for the Busan Metropolitan City to establish both the department of Port Logistics and relevant regulations. The central government should also support and cooperate with the BPA rather than controlling the Authority.

The purpose of this paper was to examine the status of unlawful actions in the fishing grounds located in the Ki-jang coastal region of Busan, Korea, and to develop an optimal fishing-ground plan that will increase the productivity of fisheries resources. We examined the impacts of important factors influencing the basic environment of the fishing grounds at the study site, as including the physical environmental conditions of water temperature and qualies. In addition, we administered a survey that focused on the necessity of enhanced maintenance of the fishing grounds at this site. As a result, we identified some required management action for the fishing grounds and proposed an optimal fishing-ground plan to increase productivity in the Ki-jang coastal region of Busan.

This paper focuses on the frozen storage warehouse located in Busan area, and it is because Busan is the most dense area in Korea. Busan is a port city, and almost all of the frozen refrigerated cargo imported from abroad is concentrated. By taking advantage of its strength as a fishery industry as well as importing, Busan is building the largest international fishery logistics base in Northeast Asia and plays an important role in the export of refrigerated cargo is. Therefore, although the freezing and chilling facilities seem to be developed with the latest technology, the reality is not so. Most of them are functioning as a warehouse, that is, a storage function, and a considerable number of refrigerated warehouses are in a state of aging. Therefore, in this paper, the facility and function restructuring of the freezing storage warehouse have been set as a solution task, and the introduction of the cold chain system containing the latest smart technology has been proposed as a solution.
