This study was conducted to investigate that bus information was used as an information of travel speed. To determine the travel speed on the road, bus information and the information collected from the point detector and the interval detection installed were compared. If bus information has the function of traffic information detector, can provide the travel speed information to road users. To this end, the model of recognizing the traffic patterns is necessary. This study used simple moving-average method, simple exponential smoothing method, Double moving average method, Double exponential smoothing method, ARIMA(Autoregressive integrated moving average model) as the existing methods rather than new approach methods. This study suggested the possibility to replace bus information system into other information collection system.
The research aims to find implications of machine learning and urban big data as a way to construct the flexible transportation network system of smart city by responding the urban context changes. This research deals with a problem that existing a bus headway model is difficult to respond urban situations in real-time. Therefore, utilizing the urban big data and machine learning prototyping tool in weathers, traffics, and bus statues, this research presents a flexible headway model to predict bus delay and analyze the result. The prototyping model is composed by real-time data of buses. The data is gathered through public data portals and real time Application Program Interface (API) by the government. These data are fundamental resources to organize interval pattern models of bus operations as traffic environment factors (road speeds, station conditions, weathers, and bus information of operating in real-time). The prototyping model is implemented by the machine learning tool (RapidMiner Studio) and conducted several tests for bus delays prediction according to specific circumstances. As a result, possibilities of transportation system are discussed for promoting the urban efficiency and the citizens' convenience by responding to urban conditions.
The AMBA(Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture) system is one of the most important elements having an influence upon system performance in ARM-based SoC environments. The system guarantees easy connection and good performance as a 32-bit bus system for ARM processors. In this paper, we analyze arbitration algorithms for the AHB bus of the AMBA system and propose an efficient algorithm to improve the performance of the bus system.

This study proposed a method to determine the number and location of bus information terminals (BIT), which is a device to provide passengers with bus arrival time at bus stops in a Bus Information System (BIS). In low-density area, it is not efficient to survey bus demands such as the number of passengers at all bus stops due to time and cost. This kind of a survey would, however, competently cover all bus stops if performed inside the bus. The number of riding-on and -off passengers is observed for every bus stop, and this data collection is repeated over all day. Data obtained from the survey are aggregated each bus stop. This study defines Utility Index (UI), an aggregate each bus stop. Bus stops are ranked according to UI and determined for a BIT within budget limitation. As a case study, a bus line in Jeju island, Korea, was dealt with. This case showed that the more aggregate the better data quality. This study is expected to contribute to solving a location problem of BITs in a BIS.

Bus Information System (BIS) services are expanding nationwide to small and medium-sized cities, including large cities, and user satisfaction is continuously improving. In addition, technology development related to improving reliability of bus arrival time and improvement research to minimize errors continue, and above all, the importance of information accuracy is emerging. In this study, accuracy performance was evaluated using LSTM, a machine learning method, and compared with existing methodologies such as Kalman filter and neural network. As a result of analyzing the standard error for the actual travel time and predicted values, it was analyzed that the LSTM machine learning method has about 1% higher accuracy and the standard error is about 10 seconds lower than the existing algorithm. On the other hand, 109 out of 162 sections (67.3%) were analyzed to be excellent, indicating that the LSTM method was not entirely excellent. It is judged that further improved accuracy prediction will be possible when algorithms are fused through section characteristic analysis.

One of the major reasons for recent blackout, like August 14, 2003 blackout in the US and Canada has been insufficient voltage/reactive power support. For the stable reactive power management, a new approach for the voltage monitoring and control structure is required in the market environment. This paper proposes the effective localized-voltage control scheme using the information from pilot buses at each zone. In this paper, the steady state voltage monitoring and control (SSVMC) is adopted and illustrated for the voltage control scheme during steady state because it is thought as the systemic algorithm to explain voltage profile phenomenon before and after contingencies. And the concept of electrical distance is applied to simultaneously achieve both clustering the voltage control zone, and selecting the pilot bus as the representative node at each control zone. Applying SSVMC based on the structure with clustering and pilot bus enables system operators to monitor and understand the system condition much more easily, to monitor and control the voltage in real-time more manageably, and to respond quickly to a disturbance. The proposed voltage control scheme has been tested on the IEEE 14-bus system with the numerical analysis to examine the system reliability and structure efficiency.

This paper introduces a system that assists the blind to move to their destination, and compares the performance of 3-types of deep learning network (DNN) used in the system. The system is made up with a smartphone application that finds route from current location to destination using GPS and navigation API and a bus station installation module that recognizes and informs the bus (type and number) being about the board at bus stop using 3-types of DNN and bus information API. To make the module recognize bus number to get on, We adopted faster-RCNN, YOLOv4, YOLOv5s and YOLOv5s showed best performance in accuracy and speed.

The bus as a feeder trip should supply equality service to the whole community. But in spite of the change of latent demand to the bus by the variety of regional structural change, the existing bus route can not supply effective feeder service. For cope with the latent demand to the bus, this study establish a concept that frame of the bus operation and management. This study tackled to evidence this fact by analyzing the bus transport problems in terms of the urban growth, and following issues were discussed: 1) the strategy for improvement of bus operation, 2) the land use control which is appropriate for the public transport network, 3) the economical range to justify the bus operation, 4) the allowance for the private transport mode. On the second part of this study, the difference on the bus operation was compared to determine the range within which the bus operation can be justified. This would provide the direction to improve the management for bus operation and fundamental information to develop the bus operation system.

Wearable devices, such as a smart watch and a wrist band, store owner's private information in the devices so that security in a high level is required. Applications developed by third parties in Tizen request for an access to designated services through the desktop bus (D-Bus). The D-Bus verifies application's privileges to grant the request for an access. We developed a fuzzing tool, so-called DAN (the D-bus ANalyzer), to detect errors in implementations for privilege verifications and access controls within Tizen's system services. The DAN has found a number of vulnerable services which granted accesses to unauthorized applications. We built a proof-of-concept application based on those findings to demonstrate a bypass in the privilege examination.
