리눅스에서 센서/구동기의 Plug&Play를 위한 USB장치 (A USB Device for Plug&Play of Sensor/Actuator In Linux)

  • Since IoT devices include various sensors and drivers, application programmers need to understand the structure and characteristics of sensors and actuators. If the manufacturer provides the driver of the sensor or actuator, IoT development can be efficiently carried out, which is called the Plug & Play technique. What matters is that the technique proposed by this research team in the past are not suitable for Arduino or Raspberry-Pi, which are recently used. In this paper, we propose a USB sensor device that can be mounted on a Raspberry-Pi. When the device is plugged into the Raspberry-Pi, the built-in driver is transmitted and played. The configuration of the USB sensor device was presented, and considerations for chip selection for processing sensors and drivers were presented.

  • 모든 사물이 지능화되고 인터넷과 연결되는 IoT의 시대가 열리고 있다. IoT 생태계 구축과 활성화를 위해서는 개방형 IoT 서비스 플랫폼이 무엇보다도 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 개방형 IoT 서비스 플랫폼의 한 요소로서 오픈 소스 하드웨어와 Blutooth4.0을 기반으로 하는 BLE 센서 모듈을 개발하여 그 도달거리와 사용가능시간과 같은 성능을 평가하고, 테스트베드를 구축하여 그 기능을 확인하였다.

  • It is essential to investigate the structure and the main characteristics of BSN (Bio-Sensor Network) platform in built smart healthcare environment while designing healthy housing facilities. For this study, WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) data transmission technologies have been employed with medical sensors, and optimal medical devices would provide various Web 2.0 services by connecting to the WiBro network. The BSN platform normally recognizes in surroundings of WBAN (Wireless Body Area Network) or WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network), and it is possible to manage sensor nodes by utilizing SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) and REST (REpresentational State Transfer). In addition, the feature of SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) for mobile gateway is also included for being adapted to huge network structure. Finally, BSN platform will play a role as important clues for developing personal WSN service models for smart healthy housing properties.

케이블센서를 이용한 2차원 위치측정 시스템 (A Two-Dimensional Position Sensor Using Cable Extension Transducers)

  • Based on the cable-extension transducers, a new technique for two dimensional position measurement is developed in this paper. This new technique includes the use of two such transducers and the planar position is determined through triangulation. This paper also presents uncertainty analysis results for establishing sensor design specifications. An actual prototyped sensor system is built and its accuracy is verified through h\both experiments with coordinate measurement machines and its application to the real-time control of a high load wheeled mobile robot. This new type of position sensor can be easily used in a wide variety of automation applications in industry for two dimensional position measurements with high accuracy over a relatively large range, and it is both cast effective and robust against hostile environments.

  • 압전 토오크 센서를 사용하는 고감도 자력계를 제작하였다. 미소진폭의 진동자기장을 자화된 시료에 인가할 때 생기는 토오크를 압전소자로 측정하였다. 그 토오크는 시료의 자화에 비례한다. 포화자 화의 측정오차는 기존치에 대하여 5% 이내였다.

  • An active stick which has the variable force-feel characteristics is developed. A combined position and force control strategy is mechanized using a 2-axis built-in force sensor and LVDT. The 2-axis force sensor which measures the stick force felt by the operator is developed by using strain gages and appropriate instrumental amplifiers. A mathematical model of the active stick dynamics is derived, and compared with the experimental results. The frictional torque of the stick due to the mechanical contacts of several parts makes the experimental frequency responses to be dependent on the magnitude of excitation signal, and the precision closed loop control to be difficult.   • 본 논문에서는 지그비를 이용한 무선 기반 센서 네트워크 단점을 극복하기 위하여 유무선 네트워크 연동 기술을 이용한 하이브리드 센서 네트워크 구현 방안을 제시하였다. 제안된 유무선 연동 센서 네트워크는 CATV망에서의 저손실 전송 특성을 바탕으로 실내 무선 환경의 열악한 전송 특성을 보완할 수 있으며, 마찬가지로 동일 주파수 대역의 무선랜과 블루투스의 간섭에서도 자유로울 수 있다. 또한 이미 충분한 인프라가 구축되어 있는 CATV망을 변경없이 사용하고, 기존 무선망의 전송 부정확성에 대한 안정성과 예측 가능한 전송 링크를 제공함으로써 네트워크 설계가 보다 효율적이었으며, 센서 네트워크의 안정성과 높은 신뢰성을 보장하였다.

  • This paper presents a preliminary study on the pressure sensing characteristics of smart nano composites made of MWCNT (multi-walled carbon nanotube) to develop a novel pressure sensor. We fabricated the composite pressure sensor by using a solution casting process. Made of carbon smart nano composites, the sensor works by means of piezoresistivity under pressure. We built a signal processing system similar to a conventional strain gage system. The sensor voltage outputs during the experiment for the pressure sensor and the resistance changes of the MWCNT as well as the epoxy based on the smart nano composite under static pressure were fairly stable and showed quite consistent responses under lab level tests. We confirmed that the response time characteristics of MWCNT nano composites with epoxy were faster than the MWCNT/EPDM sensor under static loads.

폴리머 기반 슬림형 촉각센서의 최적 설계 및 새로운 공정 방법 (Polymer Based Slim Tactile Sensor: Optimal Design and New Fabrication Method)

  • In this study, we propose an optimal design and new fabrication method for a slim tactile sensor. Slim tactile sensor can detect 3-axial forces and has suitable flexibility for intelligent robot fingers. To amplify the contact signal, a unique table-shaped structure was attempted. A new layer-by-layer fabrication process for polymer micromachining that can make a 3D structure by using a sacrificial layer was proposed. A table-shaped epoxy sensing plate with four legs was built on top of a flexible polymer substrate. The plate can convert an applied force to a concentrated stress. Normal and shear forces can be detected by combining responses from metal strain gauges embedded in the polymer substrate. The optimal positions of the strain gauges are determined using the strain distribution obtained from finite element analysis.

실시간 대기오염 지도 작성을 위한 분산형 건강인지 자전거 시스템 구현 (Implementation of Distributed Health-aware Bicycle System for Making Real-time Air-pollution Map)

  • This paper presents an environmental navigation system which provides a guidance to the users of smart bicycle for a pollution-free route during their travel. The smart bicycle operates as a sensor node being composed of a distributed wireless sensor network over the whole urban area. Several environmental sensors measuring the amount of dust, CO, $CO_2$, $NO_2$ in the air are built into the smart bicycle to estimate the level of air pollution in the located area. Each smart bicycle sends/receives the measured sensor data and the city pollution map to/from the centralized server, which leads the bike-riders to a healthy route by providing the environmental navigation information. The proposed idea and its implementation give a useful insight on various application services with the distributed smart bicycles.
