An Advanced User-Construction Requirement Within the EFD for the Development of Large-scale Information Systems

  • This research focuses ell an approach for the building of a requirements model for the development of large-scale information systems. It will suggest a set of requirements engineering processes as a procedure of the implementation for building the requirements model. It will also emphasise the evaluation requirements model aimed to refine and complete the requirements model by the different user groups as a cross reference. This paper provides an advanced user-construction requirements within the Event Flow Diagram as a set of requirements engineering process.

거주후평가(P.O.E)에 의한 오피스공간의 개선방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Innovation of an Office Space by Post Occupancy Evaluation)

  • Increasing the user's need in the building facilities, the architects, engineers, and building managers must consider the user's opinion when they plan and construct the buildings. When planning and managing of the buildings, accepting the user's opinion is desirable and indispensible to solve the Problems about the architectural facilities between suppliers and users. To supply the efficient working environments, use the check listing tools and operate the post occupancy evaluation. The real estate and development company is selected for the evaluation. It is renovated in 2000 to fit in its working environment. The process of the evaluation is proceeded both private and group working spaces and facility and management of the buildings with 10 categories. Following the result of Post occupancy evaluation, the users of the building are mostly satisfied with their working environments after the renovation. However, the categories in thermal environment and indoor air and supply for office work need to be improved in advance.

  • Although the importance of the construction lift is increasing, no improvements are being made to its operating system. This study proposed an optimal call-response algorithm of the construction lift for high-rise building construction by using image sensing technology, height measuring sensor, and load cell. This algorithm makes turn-around decision of the construction lift by considering the information and the number of user. It occurs when the call comes from a floor where the construction lift already have passed. The purpose of this study is to reduce the total latency of the construction lift user. Furthermore, it is possible to prevent delay in construction duration by carrying out a priority operation of the construction lift for the critical workforce.

  • Many artificial intelligence (AI) techniques have been embedded into various engineering technologies to assist them in achieving different goals. The integration of modern technologies with energy consumption management system and occupant's comfort inside buildings results in the introduction of intelligent building concept. The major aim of this integration is to manage the energy consumption effectively and keeping the occupant satisfied with the internal environment of the building. The last few couple of years have seen many applications of AI techniques for optimizing the energy consumption with maximizing the user comfort in smart buildings but still there is much room for improvement in this area. In this paper, a hybrid of two AI algorithms called firefly algorithm (FA) and genetic algorithm (GA) has been used for user comfort maximization with minimum energy consumption inside smart building. A complete user friendly system with data from various sensors, user, processes, power control system and different actuators is developed in this work for reducing power consumption and increase the user comfort. The inputs of optimization algorithms are illumination, temperature and air quality sensors' data and the user set parameters whereas the outputs of the optimization algorithms are optimized parameters. These optimized parameters are the inputs of different fuzzy controllers which change the status of different actuators according to user satisfaction.

  • 최근 고해상도 위성 영상의 보급에 따라 이를 활용한 서비스가 증가하고 있다. 특히, $Google\;Earth^{TM}$$Virtual\;Earth^{TM}$와 같은 전 지구 차원 의 3차원 가시화 서비스나 최근 일부 도시에 대하여 제공되고 있는 3차원 GIS 서비스는 지형과 지물에 대한 사실적인 기하정보를 제공하고 있다. 이러한 서비스들은 도시 개발 계획의 수립, 도로망의 개선, 엔터테인먼트 사업, 군사 시뮬레이션, 재난 및 재해 관리 등의 다양한 분야에 활용이 가능하다. 이러한 활용을 위해서는 고해상도 위성 영상을 이용하여 지형 및 지물 정보를 효과적으로 추출하는 연구가 요구된다. 본 논문 에서는 단일 위성 영상으로부터 건물의 3차원 모델을 추출하기 위한 요구사항을 살펴본 뒤 이를 기반으로 효과적인 모델 추출을 위한 시스템 을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 영상의 특징 정보와 건물, 위성, 태양의 기하 관계를 이용하여 최소한의 사용자 조작으로 건물의 3차원 모델을 추출한다. 마지막으로 실제 위성 영상으로부터 건물의 3차원 모델 추출을 수행하고 효과적으로 3차원 모델을 획득할 수 있음을 보인다.

The Relationship between Energy Consumption and Factors Affecting Heating and Cooling

  • Energy consumption in university building has steadily increased over the last decade, and a strong upward trend in recent years. This study was undertaken to analyze the relationship between energy consumption and their affecting factors, six academic buildings were considered. The factors limited to heating and cooling, which is the main end use (nearly 60 per cent of total energy consumption in university buildings), encompassing system and operating schedules (user activity) and area use. To understand how to building is used, operated and managed, walk-through assessment was conducted as well as interview with university staff. The results show that the energy consumption of the humanities building was somewhat smaller than the consumption of the science and engineering building, and its range was from $31.26kgoe/m^2$ to $23.52kgoe/m^2$, depending on heating and cooling system and area use. And the energy consumption of the science and engineering building was related to operating schedules (user activity) as well as laboratory equipment characteristics. More analysis on a larger number of buildings is required in the future, including building form and material performance level to generalize the significant factors influencing building energy consumption.

  • 본 연구는 웹 기반 선례검색 시스템을 개발하였다. 기존의 연구들에 대한 사례 조사를 통해서 지금까지의 선례 검색 방법의 한계: 변환과정에서의 의미 손실과 자료 공유의 시공간제한성 밝혔다. 해결책으로 의미기반 공통표현모듈을 도입하고 웹 환경을 이용하여 효과적인 선례검색 해결방법을 찾아냄으로써 검색과 자료 공유가 용이한 선례검색 시스템을 개발했다.

이용자의 도시적 공간체험을 유도하는 도서관 공간 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of the Library Space for Introducing Urban Experiences)

  • This study is aimed to examine the characteristics of library space, in which user experiences and social networking are central in its design. Today, a library is a place to provide diverse accesses and experiences to information networks, where various individuals and user groups come and share mutual understanding and experiences. Library users developed social ties and a sense of community through library experiences. As a multipurpose space of a community, a library has the characteristics of urban public space like sidewalks and plazas. The eight case studies of libraries are analyzed from the viewpoint of each factor of library experience, including landscape, sidewalk, and plaza experience. The study drew its conclusions as follows. First, a library is a regional landmark for the users. Thus, it tends to be designed to allow transparency on its surface which introduces inner and outer landscape into the inside of the building. Second, the users experience a library similarly as they experience an urban street where they interface, browse, and interact with people and information. As they interact and share experiences, they develop solidarity and social ties among them. A library is designed to preserve continuity to adjacent streets, which increases accessibility to the building and hosts street activities into the building. Third, a library today is designed to be a flexible open space with information networking as well as community networking which allows library users diverse activities within it. For example, a multipurpose grand stairs in the middle of the main circulation of a building allows the users diverse activities. A large open stack with reading areas gives the users the feeling of an urban plaza where they can move vertically and horizontally. In conclusion, all findings of this study imply a user-oriented design for a library building.

  • 최근 비정형 건축물 및 건축공간에 대한 사회적인 요구가 증대되고 있으며 전 세계 주요 도시에서 비정형 건축물의 사례를 쉽게 볼 수 있다. 본 연구는 현재 건설된 대표적인 비정형 건축물에서의 사용자 행위를 조사하고 이를 분석하여 비정형 건축공간에서의 인간행동의 특징을 분석하였다. 본 연구는 궁극적으로 비정형 건축공간 설계의 거주 성능 검토를 위한 인간행동 시뮬레이션 기술개발을 목표로 하고 있으며 이번 연구결과는 이를 위한 사용자 행위 모델링과 시뮬레이션 기술개발에 활용될 수 있다. 이와 같은 연구는 선행연구들에서 비정형 건축공간에서 어떠한 행동적인 특징이 발생하는지에 대한 조사나 분석을 찾아보기 힘든 상황이기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 인간행동 시뮬레이션 도구에서 간과했던 비정형 건축공간에서 인간행동의 특징을 도출하였다. 즉, 대표적인 비정형 건축물을 현장방문 및 조사하여 전형적인 공간과 다른 비정형 건축물에서의 사용자 행동을 조사하여 다른 행동이 나타나는 곳과 행동을 도출하였다.

  • Dweller's safety is one of the most important factors for the evaluation of building performance. The process of conventional safety design which is normally performed by the codes and designer's experiences is not enough to check the whole possibilities of unexpected accidents in the built environment. It means that the dwellers might be always exposed by the dangerous situation which should have been removed in the architectural design process. In order to solve this problem, this study intends to introduce a rule-based performance evaluation technology based on BIM(Building Information Modeling). The proposed technology focuses on the real time evaluation of dweller's safety in the ordinary life in the designed building alternatives and uses a commercial BIM tool as a design and evaluation platform.
