Purpose: Currently, in the case of domestic fire fighting facility design, it is difficult to secure highquality manpower due to low design costs and overheated competition between companies, so there is a limit to improving the fire safety performance of buildings. Accordingly, AI-based firefighting design solutions were studied to solve these problems and secure leading fire engineering technologies. Method: Through AutoCAD, which is widely used in existing fire fighting design, the procedures required for basic design and implementation design were processed, and AI technology was utilized through the YOLO v4 object recognition deep learning model. Result: Through the design process for fire fighting facilities, the facility was determined and the drawing design automation was carried out. In addition, by learning images of doors and pillars, artificial intelligence recognized the part and implemented the function of selecting boundary areas and installing piping and fire fighting facilities. Conclusion: Based on artificial intelligence technology, it was confirmed that human and material resources could be reduced when creating basic and implementation design drawings for building fire protection facilities, and technology was secured in artificial intelligence-based fire fighting design through prior technology development.

Shear wall is commonly used as a lateral force resisting system of concrete mid-rise and high-rise buildings, but it brings challenges in providing relatively large space throughout the building height. For this reason, the structure system where the upper structure with bearing, non-bearing and/or shear walls that sits on top of a transfer plate system supported by widely spaced columns at the lower stories is preferred in some regions, particularly in low to moderate seismic regions in Asia. A thick reinforced concrete (RC) plate has often been used as a transfer system, along with RC transfer girders; however, the RC plate becomes very thick for tall buildings. Applying the post-tensioning (PT) technique to RC plates can effectively reduce the thickness and reinforcement as an economical design method. Currently, a simplified model is used for numerical modeling of PT transfer plate, which does not consider the interaction of the plate and the upper structure. To observe the actual behavior of PT transfer plate under seismic loads, it is necessary to model whole parts of the structure and tendons to precisely include the interaction and the secondary effect of PT tendons in the results. This research evaluated the seismic behavior of shear wall-type residential buildings with PT transfer plates for the condition that PT tendons are included or excluded in the modeling. Three-dimensional finite element models were developed, which includes prestressing tendon elements, and response spectrum analyses were carried out to evaluate seismic forces. Two buildings with flat-shape and L-shape plans were considered, and design forces of shear walls and transfer columns for a system with and without PT tendons were compared. The results showed that, in some cases, excluding PT tendons from the model leads to an unrealistic estimation of the demands for shear walls sit on transfer plate and transfer columns due to excluding the secondary effect of PT tendons. Based on the results, generally, the secondary effect reduces shear force demand and axial-flexural demands of transfer columns but increases the shear force demand of shear walls. The results of this study suggested that, in addition to the effect of PT on the resistance of transfer plate, it is necessary to include PT tendons in the modeling to consider its effect on force demand.

The current residential process adheres to a traditional method of construction involving wood framing on-site on poured concrete foundations which has been widely applied in North America. A conventional residential construction process can include seventeen distinct stages ranging from stake-out to pre-occupancy inspection. The current practice possesses short comings including high construction material wastes, long scheduling timelines, adverse weather conditions, poor quality, low efficiencies and negative environmental impacts from transportation and equipment use. Over CAN $5 billion dollars was spent in the construction sector during 2007 in Canada. Previous findings in CO2 emissions during the construction process of a conventional dwelling emphasize more than 45 tonnes of CO2 emissions. Hence, in Alberta alone during 2007, almost 50,000 residential units would release more than two million tonnes of CO2. These numbers demonstrate the economical and environmental impact in building construction and its relationship with CO2 emissions. The aim of this paper is to quantify the CO2 emissions from the current residential construction process in order to establish the baseline for CO2 emission reduction opportunities. The quantification collection methodology will be approached by identifying the seventeen various stages of construction and quantifying the contributions of CO2 from specific activities and their impacts of work for each stage. The approach of separating these into separate stages for collection will allow for independent opportunities for analysis from various independent contractors from the entire scope of work. The use of BIM will be implemented to efficiently quantify CO2 emissions. Based on the CO2 quantification baseline, emission reduction opportunities such as an industrialized construction process will be introduced that allows homebuilders to reduce the environmental and economical impact of home construction while enabling them to produce higher quality, more energy efficient homes in a safer and shorter period of time.

In this paper, we propose a smart wall switch based on IEEE 802.11b/g/n standard 2.4GHz band communication. As the 4th industrial era evolves, smart home solution development is actively underway, and application cases for smart wall switches are increasing. Most of the Chinese products that preoccupy the market through price competitiveness use Bluetooth and Zigbee communication switches. However, while ZigBee communication is low power, communication speed is slower than Bluetooth and network configuration through a separate hub is additionally required. The Bluetooth method has problems in that the communication range and speed are lower than Wi-Fi communication, the communication standby time is relatively long, and security is weak. In this study, an IEEE 802.11b/g/n smart wall switch applied with Wi-Fi communication technology was developed. In addition, through the two-wire structure, it is designed so that no additional cost is incurred through the construction of a separate neutral line in the building. The result of the study is more than 30% cheaper than the existing wall switch, so it is judged that it will be able to preoccupy the market not only in terms of technological competitiveness but also price competitiveness.

As environmental pollution continues, attention on renewable energy is on the constant rise in recent days. Although various kinds of renewable energy such as solar, wind power and biomass energy have been generated in Jeju, opening and analyzing cases on related data seem insufficient. Therefore, this study is being conducted to deduce the variables which have high relation with solar panel&s output and to understand machine learning methods that can be applied to solar power generation data by utilizing Kaggle platform, which is actively used by a number of scientists. Then, it is planned to propose a form of solar power generation dataset by researching machine learning methods that could be applied to the data. To be specific, analyzing solar power generation data with the Kaggle platform, this study will provide complements on gathering solar power data in Jeju. This study is anticipated to be utilized on data analysis for developing the solar power industry in Jeju. That is, this study is expected to reveal the room for improvement inherent in existing open datasets in Jeju, so that they could be constructed in a suitable form for machine learning for AI analytics. Through this process, a method to increase efficiency of solar power generation is anticipated to be prepared.

The landscaping of Amore-Pacific's new building has received various awards since its construction. This study attempted to identify the mechanisms of planning, design, and construction of this project through the ground theory. The results of the study are summarized as follows. The client's place attachment of the sites, which was the company's parent, was the driving force for an international design competiton in which architecture and landscaping were integrated. After that, in the detailed design stage for the actual implementation of the contest-winning plan, competent local designers and contractors were selected, and a consultative body was operated to engage in various opinions and promote rational decision-making. As for consultative body's operation method, simulation, physical model production, and detailed drawings were created after sharing opinions, and landscape design supervision played a major role. Establishing consistency in design and construction through integrated planning and landscape design supervision is required to cultivate craftsmanship and foster landscape coordinators in today's industrialized practice. The accumulation of related follow-up studies and supplementation of the system is anticipated.
In this study, it was analyzed with the dyeing pattern of Diospyros kaki Thunb (persimmon) and was tried to numerically evaluate how the dyeing pattern in silk fabrics and cells was changed by different mordants. When the dyed silk fabrics were sufficiently dried, the silk fabrics were found to have a pale yellow color. Interestingly, iron II sulfate mordant changed the color change the most, silk fabrics were dyed with a color close to brown or dark purple. For numerical analysis, 19% and 62.5% color changes could be induced by sodium tartrate plus citric acid and copper acetate, respectively. Iron II sulfate induced the greatest difference than that of untreated mordants at 88%. About 5% and 10% of Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells were stained by sodium tartrate plus citric acid and copper acetate, respectively. The staining effect induced by iron II sulfate was about 2.4 times higher than the staining effect by sodium tartrate plus citric acid. In previous studies, staining results have been visually confirmed. However, this results not only visually confirmed the dyeing, but also quantified the color change. In particular, if numerical results are continuously integrated into big data, any researcher will be able to easily obtain similar results even if the method, time, volume, etc. are changed. In addition, the numerical data of this study is considered to be an important basis for building a database for IoT construction and computer analysis.

In Korea, the number of national facilities for which a safety inspection is mandatory is increasing, and a safer safety inspection method is needed. This study aimed to increase the efficiency of the bridge safety inspection by enabling rapid exterior inspection while securing the safety of inspectors by using drones to perform the safety inspections of bridges, which had mainly relied on visual inspections. For the research, the Youngjong Grand Bridge in Incheon was selected as a test bed and was divided into four parts: the warren truss, suspension bridge main cable, main tower, and pier. It was possible to establish a five-step standard procedure for drone safety inspections. The step-by-step contents of the standard procedure obtained as a result of this research are: Step 1, facility information collection and analysis, Step 2, analysis of vulnerable parts and drone flight planning, Step 3, drone photography and data processing, Step 4, condition evaluation by external inspection, Step 5, building of external inspection diagram and database. Therefore, if the safety inspections of civil engineering facilities including bridges are performed according to this standard procedure, it is expected that these inspection can be carried out more systematically and efficiently.

The purpose of this study is to compare the grid usage that is common to Leonardo da Vinci and J.N.L. Durand in the process of designing the architectural plan. In the days when there was no proper measurement tool, auxiliary lines relied entirely on the architect's personal mindset and design convenience. Therefore, it is considered that studying the auxiliary lines drawn by the architects will be useful for studying the human perception system. Among auxiliary lines, the grid has been used by many architects. Leonardo da Vinci and J.N.L. Durand are famous. However, these two show a significant different grid usage. As auxiliary grid and space ares added the center of the Leonardo da Vinci grid continues to move, and the grid in his sketch is becoming a building space itself. So I call it 'conceptual grid'. In the case of J.N.L. Durand, the one center of the grid is always at the center of the drawing. That is, all the positions of the grid can be determined in phase around a common point, and all of the same specifications are assumed. The grid is a kind of filter. That's why his grid is a visual abstraction of the process of thinking. In this paper, I will call the grid of J.N.L. Durand as 'abstract grid'.
Interior panels are usually used in finishing of interior walls for not only decorative effects but also information transfer. According to designer's design placing interior panels may need repetitive tasks and the emphasis of this paper is to support an automation of these tasks. Considering the utilization characteristics of interior panels, we propose three method to present patterns by using bitmap image pixels and interior panels' shape changes, based on the theoretical consideration. In addition, in order to approve the possibility of the proposed methods, we have implemented the BIM based interior panels auto layout tool which applied one of the three methods to present patterns by using bitmap image pixel values and panel identification attributes. This tool also supports auto generation of quantity and panel arrangement sequence information that will be used in future construction phase. We expect that this approach will also be used in other decorative objects which require repetition of the basic units, such as floor tiles.
