  • For the past three years, the importance of automatic research has been increased. It was proved in previous research that the number of conducted research using 'Database' technique was the largest, but the amount of increase was the largest in research on 'BIM'. In consequence, it is predicted the research on 'BIM' will become a center of automation in construction. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to examine trends though classifying into each construction phase and developed extent of techniques related to professionalization and integration with other techniques within a range of 'Automation in Construction Journal' which has the biggest level of awareness in construction field.

Determination of Optimal Build Orientation Based on Satisfactory Degree Theory for RPT

  • In rapid prototyping, the optimal part orientation during fabrication is critical as it can improve part accuracy, minimize the requirement for supports and reduce the production time. Through investigating the geometric issues of STL model and process planning of RPM, This paper establishes optimizing model based on the considerations of staircase effect, support area and production time. The general satisfactory degree function is constructed employing the multi-objective optimization theory based on the general satisfactory degree principle. The best part-building orientation is obtained by solving the function employing generic algorithm. Experiment shows that the methods can effective resolve the part-building orientation in RP.

  • After the outbreak of COVID-19, the construction industry, which has more contact between workers than other industries, needs to improve its environment through the technology development for automation of construction projects. This study conducted 5-point scale surveys of 39 candidate technologies on 54 workers in construction- related industries to derive priorities for technology development to improve the construction environment. The result of this survey shows the top 10 candidate technology priorities, and this analysis can be used as basic data for setting the direction for future construction development.

  • This study is conducted to identify improvements in the setting time estimation system through the Mock-up test of the finishing automation system and the setting estimation system. As a result of the study, it is necessary to adjust the spring strength of the setting time estimator and the diameter and length of the estimation needle so that the value of the hardness can be measured from 15HD to around 40HD.

  • 빌딩자동제어시스템은 여러 서브시스템의 통합을 통한 고도의 서비스 제공, 관리비의 절감 등을 효과적으로 실현할 수 있다. 통합운전의 전제조건은 표준 프로토콜을 가진 개방형 네트워크를 이용하여 합리적인 네트워크 설계에 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 BAS에 가장 걸림돌이 되었던 화재경보시스템(소방법 명칭)을 ANSI/FIA 709.1인 LonTalk 프로토콜을 이용하여 BAS에서의 통합을 위한 개념적인 새로운 설계방안을 제시하였다. 기존 시스템에서 사용되는 중계기를 대체하는 지능형제어모듈을 개발하고 이를 이용하여 개방된 지능형 화재경보시스템의 설계방안을 제안한 것이다. 이는 오보률의 저감 실현은 물론 빌딩의 통합운전에도 크게 기여할 것으로 판단된다.

  • With the advent of the recent Fourth Industrial Revolution, efforts are vigorously underway to comprehend the new paradigm of Construction 4.0, following in the footsteps of Industry 4.0, and to establish novel production systems. The necessity and significance of technological advancements in the field of construction automation and robotics, a pivotal component for Construction 4.0, are being emphasized. This paper aims to discuss the concept of construction automation and robotics, encompassing its past, present, and future prospects. Particularly, it reviews the six relevant papers featured in the June 2022 special issue of IJHRB, along with discussions on the integration of cutting-edge ICT technologies and R&D in the realm of automation and robotics. With the progression of ICT technology, the domain of construction automation and robotics is anticipated to play a substantial role in the realization of Construction 4.0 and smart construction through more dynamic convergence in technological development.
