Air-Water 모델에서 기포특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Characteristics of Bubbles in Air-Water Model)

  • The structural development of air-water bubble plumes has been measured under different condition on air flow rate in a cylindrical bath. The time-averaged structure of plumes has been measured with an oscilloscope and an electro-conductivity probe. The temperature of bubbles was also obtained by a thermal-infrared camera. Gas volume fraction and bubble frequency were high since bubbles concentrated on the nozzle. In general, their axial and radial values tended to decrease with increasing distance. Bubble temperature reached water temperature within a short time. The present study showed that thermal equilibrium between bubbles and water was completed before bubbles flow became stable.

  • In order to investigate the characteristics of two-phase slug flow, an electromagnetic flowmeter with 240Hz triangular AC excitation was designed and manufactured. The signals and noise from the flowmeter were obtained, and analyzed in comparison with the observations with a high speed CCD camera. The uncertainty of the flowmeter under single-phase flow was $\pm$ 2.24% in real-time. For two-phase slug flow, electromagnetic flowmeter provided real-time simultaneous measurements of the mean film velocity around Taylor bubble and the relative location and the length of the bubble. Besides, it is an easier and cheaper method for measuring mean film velocity than others such as photochromic dye activation method or particle image velocimetry.

  • Electrical breakdown characteristics of liquid nitrogen($LN_2$) taking into consideration for application of high $T_c$ superconductor is very important. Also $LN_2$ will be used as both coolant and insulator in superconducting generator. In this paper, we investigated ac breakdown characteristics of cryogenic nitrogen gas above a $LN_2$ for rod-to plane electrode configuration. As result the breakdown mechanism of $LN_2$is dependence on bubble effect. And breakdown voltage is a ratio on bubble s size but electrodes arrangement is to make no difference. The breakdown voltage decreases slightly with increasing flow velocity, it again decreases abruptly with increasing flow velocity. These results were interpreted as the within pressure of rod electrode and Maxwell force.

2상 격자 볼츠만 방법을 이용한 상승하는 기포 유동 2차원 수치 모사 (Two-dimensional Numerical Simulation of the Rising Bubble Flows Using the Two Phase Lattice Boltzmann Method)

  • Free energy based lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) has been used to simulate the rising bubble flows with large density ratio. LBM with compact discretization is able to reduce the spurious current of the static bubble test and be satisfied with the Laplace law. The terminal rise velocity and shape of the bubbles are dependent on Eotvos number, Morton number and Reynolds number. For single bubble flows, simulations are executed for various Eotvos number, Morton number and Reynolds number, and the results are agreed well with the experiments. For multiple bubbles, the bubble flow characteristics are related by the vortex pattern of the leading bubble. The coalescence of the bubbles are simulated successfully and the subsequent results are presented. The present method is validated for static, dynamic bubble test cases and compared to the numerical, experimental results.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 고효율 미세기포 공급장치인 산기관을 개발하기 위하여, 미세기포를 이용하여 하폐수에 용존산소를 효율적으로 공급하고 슬러지에 의한 기공의 막힘을 최소화함으로써 호기성 미생물에 의한 유기물 분해공정의 효율성과 내구성을 개선하고자 하였다. 종래의 미세기포 산기관을 개선하기 위하여, 실험과 전산해석 방법을 이용하여 미세기포를 발생시키면서 슬러지에 의한 막힘현상이 없는 원뿔형 산기관을 개발하였다. 전산해석을 통하여 단위 산기관 내부의 공기유동패턴을 확인하여 산기관 설계를 보완하고, 모의 생물반응기에 단위 산기관을 적용하여 발생 기포 거동 실험과 2상유체유동에 대한 전산해석을 수행하였다. 실험 결과로서 모의 생물반응기 내에서 발생기포 수직 길이 및 상승속도 등 기포거동에 대한 통계치를 도출하였으며, 전산해석 결과로서 기포군의 거동을 포함한 유동특성에 대한 메커니즘을 규명하였다. 이를 통하여 고효율 산기관 설계를 체계화하였고 모의 생물반응기 내에서 기포거동과 내부유동 현상을 규명함으로써, 실증 수처리장 규모 생물반응기에 산기관 군체를 적용하여 산소전달특성 및 내부유동특성을 파악하고 시스템을 설계하는데 중요한 근거를 제시하였다.

  • A visualization study of flow characteristics in a mixer using multi-nozzle bubbling was performed. The mixer is filled with liquid glycerin (dynamic viscosity = $1000mPa{\cdot}$ s at $25^{\circ}C$) and convective mixing is induced by air bubbles generated from 9 orifices installed on the bottom of the mixer. To visualize the flow field, PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) system consisting of 532nm Nd:YAG laser, $2k\times2k$ CCD camera and synchronizer is adopted. The bubbles generated with uniform size and frequency form bubble stream, and bubble streams rise vertically without interaction between bubble streams. Mixing efficiency is affected by the height of bubbler and the effective height of bubbler is 20mm from the bottom of the mixer.

기포 저감 장치의 기포입자 유동특성에 따른 수치해석에 관한 연구 (Numerical Study on the Flow Characteristics of Bubble Particles in Bubble Reduction Device)

  • 기포 저감 장치는 기름의 정량 공급과 관련된 문제 해결의 목적을 둔 장치이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기포 저감 장치의 작동 중 기포 입자의 크기별 유동특성을 확인하고자 수치해석을 진행하였다. 기초해석을 진행한 결과, 기포의 상승과 하강이 가장 활발하게 나타나는 영역을 발견하였고, 그 지점을 중심으로 수치적 계산을 수행하였다. 수치적 계산에 앞서 각 변수들 간의 동차성을 확보하기 위하여 무차원 유도를 수행하였다. 무차원 유도를 수행한 데이터를 바탕으로 각 입자의 크기별, 유체의 속도별 25개의 변수 조건을 설정하여 별도의 계산을 통해 기포 상승과 하강의 대한 수식을 도출하였다. 각 변수별로 항력과 부력의 비를 계산하여 기포에 작용하는 항력이 부력보다 큰 경우 기포가 하강하며 기포는 저감되지 않는다고 판단하였고, 부력이 항력보다 큰 경우 기포는 상승하며 기포가 저감된다고 판단하였다. 수치 계산 데이터를 바탕으로 유동 해석을 진행하였다. 유동 해석을 통하여 기포의 상승과 하강을 확인하였고, 수치 계산의 결과와도 일치하는 것을 확인하였다.

오리피스형 공기분사기 생성 기포소음 추정 연구 (A study on the estimation of bubble noise generated by orifice type bubble generators)

  • 본 논문에서는 오리피스형 공기분사기에서 생성된 기포소음 특성을 고찰하였다. 전반적인 기포소음 특성을 파악하기 위해 Strasberg와 Blake가 각각 제안한 기포소음 스펙트럼을 살펴보았고, 기포소음 계측을 위해 선박해양플랜트연구소의 대형캐비테이션터널에서 공기분사 실험을 수행하였다. 본 실험은 5종의 공기분사기를 이용하여 정지 유체 조건과 유동 조건에서 수행되었다. 계측결과로부터 실험 조건에 따른 기포소음 스펙트럼 특성을 관찰하였고, 회귀분석을 통해 기포소음에 대한 인자별 영향을 분석하였다. 끝으로 회귀분석 결과를 기반으로 기포소음 추정식을 제안하였고 제안된 추정식은 계측결과와 잘 일치함을 확인하였다.

전자기유량계를 이용한 기포 및 슬러그 유동 측정방법 연구 (Flow Measurement in Bubbly and Slug Flow Regimes Using The Electromagnetic Flowmeter Developed)

  • In order to investigate the characteristics of electromagnetic flowmeter in two -phase flow, an AC electromagnetic flowmeter was designed and manufactured. In various flow conditions, the signals and noises from the flowmeter were obtained and analyzed by comparison with the observed flow patterns with a high speed CCD camera. The experiment with the void simulators in which rod shaped non-conducting material was used was carried out to investigate the effect of the bubble position and the void fraction on the flowmeter. Based on the results from the void simulator, two -phase flow experiments encompassed from bubbly to slug flow regime were conducted. The simple relation $\Delta$ $U_{TP}$ = $\Delta$ $U_{SP}$ (l-$\alpha$) was verified with measurements of the potential difference and the void fraction. Due to the lack of homogeneity in a rent two -phase flow, the discrepancy between the relation and the present measurement was slightly increased with void fraction and also liquid volumetric flux jf. Whereas there is no difference in the shape of the raw signal between single-phase flow and bubbly flow, the signal amplitude for bubbly flow is higher than that for single -phase flow at the same water flow rate, since the passage area of the water flow is reduced. In the case of slug flow, the phase and the amplitude of the flowmeter output show dramatically the flow characteristics around each slug bubble and the position of a slug bubble itself. Therefore, the electromagnetic flowmeter shows a good possibility of being useful for identifying the flow regimes.ul for identifying the flow regimes.

  • Bubble rising phenomenon is widely founded in many industrial applications such as a stream generator in power plant. Many experimental and numerical researches have been already performed to predict dynamic behavior of the bubble rising process. Recently numerical approaches are getting popular since it can offer much detailed information which is almost impossible to obtain from the experiments. Rising bubble could penetrate through the top free surface which makes the problem much more complicate in addition to the phase changing effect even with latest numerical techniques. In this paper, the top free surface effect on rising bubble has been investigated. The gas-liquid interface was explicitly tracked using high-order Level Contour Reconstruction Method(LCRM) which is a hybridization of Front-Tracking and Level-Set method. Break-up behavior of rising bubble at free surface showed different characteristics with initial diameter of bubble.
