최근에 윈도 NT를 탑재한 고성능 PC의 등장, ATM 카드, 실시간 MPEG 인코더/디코더 보드의 개발 등, 컴퓨터 업계의 눈부신 발전으로 영상 데이터를 네트워크에 분산 저장하고, 브라우저를 사용하여 필요한 자료를 검색, 활용, 편집할 수 있는 멀티미디어 방송 제작 환경 구축이 가능하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 실시간 영상 전송을 위해 ATM 망을 구성하고, 네트워크상에서 효율적인 검색을 위한 클라이언트/서버 모델을 제시하며, 자동 인덱싱 기능을 가진 동영상 검색 브라우저 시스템을 구현해 보고 앞으로의 연구방향을 검토하였다. 모든 사용자 인터페이스 편리한 윈도 GUI 환경을 사용하므로 사용자는 프로그램을 쉽게 사용할 수 있으며, 프로그램 전체는 C++를 사용하여 클래스 단위로 제작되어 향후 시스템 개발이 용이하게 설계되었다.

네트워크상에서 멀티미디어 컨텐츠(디지털 아이템)를 다양한 전송 매체(인터넷, 방송 무선전화 등)를 통해 전달하고, 서로 다른 기능의 단말기(PDA, PC, TV, Phone 등)를 통해 디지털 아이템을 소비하는데 있어 상호호환성(Interoperability)을 제공하기 위해 디지털 아이템의 생성, 전달, 소비 단계에 이르기까지 디지털 아이템의 규격을 제정하고자 MPEG-21(멀티미디어 프레임워크)이라는 이름의 국제 표준화 작업이 진행 중이다[1]. 본 논문에서는 MPEG-21의 디지털 아이템 선언 언어인 DIDL(Digital Item Declaration Language)을 이용하여 컨텍스트 디지털 아이템(XDI: conteXt Digital Item)을 XML 문서형태로 생성하고, 이를 컨텐츠 디지털 아이템(CDI: Content Digital Item)의 종류(영화, 음악, 도서, 게임 등)에 구애받지 않고 웹 브라우저를 통해 소비할 수 있는 디지털 아이템 브라우저를 구현하였다. 디지털 아이템의 다양한 형태에 적절히 대응하기 위해 XSLT(XML Stylesheet Language Transform)를 이용하여 디지털 아이템 정보를 표현하고 웹 브라우저를 통해 소비자의 환경에 적합한 디지털 아이템을 소비 및 이용할 수 있는 어플리케이션을 제공하는 환경에 대한 연구 결과를 제시한다.

Traditional methods and materials used for Korean buildings need to be well organized and managed so that they can be utilized in modernization of old buildings. Supporting web-based management of information of Korean traditional building materials helps spread the related knowledge. This paper identifies the characteristics of traditional building materials data, and develops an information structure to represent the related information effectively. It also describes design decisions on web-based user interfaces to support flexible browsing and retrieval of the managed data. As the traditional building data are described by old domain-specific technical terms, utility of the developed service might be limited to those who are familiar with the terms. As an approach to tackle this problem, the proposed system supports user tagging by allowing users to classify the stored information using their own terms, and also to retrieve data using the user-supplied tags.

WWW(World wide Web) is a place where many laymen receive and send the information at the worldwide. A visualization of WWW is very important as one of functions helping to retrieve and browse the information. However, as the information volume displayed at one time is limited by a screen size, it is useful to limit the volume of information capable for users to browse. In this report, we propose the page-index, which extract its information according to degree of user’s interest. This index is a numbers, which relate the user’s interest with verbal and structural characteristics of homepages. The homage-index constructed with sequence of this index are useful to help a user’s browsing. We constructed the estimating system about an article of commerce and really tried to estimate. From this trial, we verified the usefulness of the page-index, homepage-index.

MPEG-7 based on XML represents various information of multimedia data's contents. and it support search and browsing by user's wants. But, MPEG-7 standard don't support retrieval method and Many XML Indexing is not compatible to retrieval MPEG-7 documents. So Much research activity and interest has emerged recently in retrieval MPEG-7 documents. In our paper, we suppose a hierarchical index based on MPEG-7 document's structural information, and review how to query processing based on high level feature description.

본 논문의 연구 목적은 효율적인 비디오 브라우징에 관한 연구이다. 비디오 스트림을 효율적으로 저장 및 재생하는 브라우징 시스템의 기본 구조로는 결정적 유한 오토마타를 사용하였다. 인덱싱 단계에서는 기존의 비디오 정보 또는 오디오 정보 한가지만을 사용하여 분야별로 특수하게 모델링하는 방법을 개선하여 비디오 스트림과 오디오 스트림 모두를 이용하는 새로운 인덱싱 방법을 제시하였다. 즉, 일차적으로 비디오 정보를 이용하여 동영상 데이터를 장면 단위로 분할한 후, 오디오 정보를 이용하여 에피소드 단위로 분할하여 인덱싱을 실행하였다. 이를 결정적 유한 오토마타 형태의 논리적인 구조로 에피소드들을 재구성하여 사용자의 요구에 따라 가변적인 재생 시간을 갖는 비디오 브라우징 시스템을 설계하였다.

UNIX 서버를 대체할 목적으로 개발되어 발전된 운영체제인 리녹스가 최적화 과정을 거쳐 임베디드 기기에 탑재되기까지 이르렀다. 본 논문에서는 임베디드 리녹스 기반의 화상 단말기 (e-frame) 을 구현하고, 중앙의 서버와 연계를 해서 인터넷을 통한 정보 서비스 제공 및 S/W 원격 갱신 기능을 갖춘 시스템을 구현 하고자 한다. 이러한 단말기는 향후 무선통신 및 무선 인터넷과 통합되어 원격검침시스템, 자동화 자판기, 산업용 HMI(Human Machine Interface) 기기 등으로 확대 발전될 것으로 전망된다.

본 논문에서는 무선 마크업 언어의 특성을 고려하여 무선 환경에 적합한 무선 인터넷 컨텐츠인 바이너리 무선 마크업 언어 문서를 브라우징하기 위한 시스템을 설계, 구현하였다. 카드 랜더링 및 사용자와의 상호작용 시 브라우징 처리를 단순화하기 위해 문서를 개체 모델링하였다. 무선 마크업 언어 문서 객체 모델은 무선 마크업 언어 특성을 고려하여 설계되었으며, 브라우징 처리 시에 문서의 검색 및 편집을 용이하게 하는 장점을 가진다. 또한 문서객체 모델은 컨텐츠의 파싱과 브라우징 처리를 분리하는 역할을 하기도 한다. 본 논문의 브라우징 시스템은 자바를 기반으로 설계 및 구현되었기 때문에 플랫폼 독립적이며, 메모리나 디스크가 제한되어 있어 한번에 여러 개의 프로그램을 상주시킬 수 없는 단말의 경우 네트워크를 통해 동적으로 프로그램을 실행시킬 수 있다는 장점이 있다.

최근에 인터넷상의 방대한 정보가 존재함에 따라 이들 정보들을 통합 관리할 필요성이 증대하고 있다. 본 논문은 인터넷 상의 방대한 정보 중에 사용자에게 필요한 정보를 발견하여 모아주는 XML 기반 중재 시스템의 중요한 요소인 질의 및 검색 사용자 인터페이스를 제안하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 질의 및 검색 인터페이스는 UML 클래스 다이어그램을 이용하므로써 XML 문서의 엘리먼트들 간의 집단화 관계 등 객체지향적인 특성을 그대로 반영할 수 있으며, 객체지향 데이터베이스 상의 저장된 문서와 쉽게 연계될 수 있도록 한다.

Internet censorship-circumvention and anonymizing services are becoming important with an increase in Internet population. Existing circumvention/anonymizing systems, however, have their own limitations, and they mainly suffer from the shortage of volunteers who relay others' traffic to bypass censors. In this paper, we present a new way of achieving censorship-circumvention while guaranteeing anonymity through the cooperation between censored and uncensored users.
