  • This study aims to examine the characteristics of YouTube space, focusing on YouTube contents related to conflict. From 2012 to 2022, conflict-related contents posted on YouTube was collected and the major topics and characteristics were identified through topic modeling analysis. The results reveal that YouTube contents related to conflict consisted mainly of news reports on social structural conflicts and broadcast programs dealing with family conflicts. These results make us worry that YouTube space will function as a means of generating profits for existing broadcasting contents rather than expecting that it can be used as the public sphere for conflict-related issues. It is time for in-depth discussions on how our society will use YouTube in the future.

  • The convergence of broadcasting & telecommunication is not a reality by itself, but recognized as a reality by the discourse which defines and explains it. It is the premise from which this article aims at studying how the discourse on the broadcasting-telecommunication convergence is formed, practised and transformed. This study compares the case of France with the case of Korea in order to show how the same discourse can engender different consequences and evolve in a different way in different socio-political situations. The discourse of the convergence was born as a scientific knowledge in the reports of the European Commission and OECD, and accepted as an important object generating social debates. Then, the discourse faces the resistance of pre-existent discourses in France, while it spreads without clash in South Korea. The French discourse results in a horizontal regulation of contents and networks, while the Korean discourse creates a unique regulator for both traditionally distinguished sectors. Finally, unlike France, the scientific discourse of the convergence in South Korea is transformed into even a political, imaginary or utopian discourse.

  • This study conducted a frame analysis of the news reports of Chonbuk bus strike broadcasted via local broadcasting companies of the Jeollabuk-do. The results showed that all Chonbuk local televisions gave more emphasis on 'episodic' frame by emphasizing demonstrations and struggles between capital and labor. In the case of content frames, news reports did not present the solution or an alternative of the strike, and the democratic process frame or the institutional improvement frame was not embossed. Therefore, local television news of Chonbuk bus strike was insufficient in reporting causes and backgrounds of the strike. Also, it displayed existing press routine in reporting the issue of social conflict such as a bus strike.

We were carried out to develop the functional meat new product using Mealworm (Tenebrio molitor lavare) and Chicken breast. People's interest to the healthy, low-calories food is growing up, the Foodservice industry is developing and making Functional food, which helps to a sale strategy. Insects have played an important role as human food throughout history, especially in Africa, Asia and Latin America. A rapid increase in the human population is expected in the second half of the 21 century, which will lead to lower availability of food, especially animal protein As the problem of food supply and demand has come to the fore with climate change, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has noticed edible insects as future food resources in order to prepare against the shortage of protein source. Recently consumers, especially patients have doubts about safety of raw materials for food. To overcome these limitations, I propose an enteral nutrition formula using edible insects as a raw material.

  • This study has two main purposes: to establish a list of source domains in the metaphors for Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and to uncover ideological meanings embedded in them in Korean news reports from KBS and JTBC. The first part of this study presents metaphors such as [MERS IS WAR], [MERS IS WAVE], [MERS IS A LIVING THING], and [MERS IS A THING], which were found in the data. The latter part of this study deals with how the two broadcasting companies use these metaphors differently according to their ideologies. In the metaphor of [MERS IS WAR], KBS tends to show less of the agents who controls the war since the war against MERS has failed which casts responsibility to the controlling agents, the government and big hospitals. In this, KBS tries to present less of the information of the responsible agents that presented in JTBC. Through the metaphor of [MERS IS WAVE], KBS presents the aftermath of MERS as something not serious. Compared to JTBC, KBS tends to suggest that the aftermath of MERS is predominantly an economic effects by metaphorically suggesting that predominantly the economic sector got hit by MERS.
