  • OFDM Modulation is used for multimedia transmission At Urban Train. Recently the application field about data transmission is expanding the image as well. The case which the number of OFDM carrier is big is advantageous because multipass fading is big 18GHz wireless frequency. Existing WLAN which an ethernet transmission is possible is not suitable to a great distance transmission because number of carrier is 64. In this paper, we developed OFDM modem suitable to transmit broadband data at high speed train. A doppler compensation block added to offset the doppler effect. Therefore, the effectiveness is expected to be very big in field of urban train.

  • Recently, due to the development of broadband, there is a significant increase in utilizing on-demand Saas (Software as a Service) which takes advantage of the technology. Nevertheless, the academic and practical levels of digital forensics have not yet been established in cloud computing environment. In addition, the data of user behavior is not likely to be stored on the local system. The relevant data may be stored across the various remote servers. Therefore, the investigators may encounter some problems in performing digital forensics in cloud computing environment. it is important to analysis History files, Cookie files, Temporary Internet Files, physical memory, etc. in a viewpoint of client, since the SaaS basically uses the web to connects the internet service. In this paper, we propose the method that analysis the usuage trace of the Saas which is the one of the most popular cloud computing services.

  • Recently, broadcasting technologies have evolved as high-quality AV services such as domestic terrestrial UHD(Ultra-High Definition) broadcasting have been increasing, and broadcasting standards have been newly defined. Also, as network technology develops, contents are consumed not only in the country but also the world. Accordingly, content insertion technology, which is a method of providing suitable contents in accordance with the national and local environments, will be needed. This paper proposes a content insertion service system model and synchronization scheme using ATSC(Advanced Television Systems Committee) 3.0 Event Signaling standard under heterogeneous network environment of broadcasting network and internet network based on transmission standard DASH(Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP)/ROUTE(Real time Object delivery Over Unidirectional Transport) and MMT(MPEG Media Transport) of terrestrial UHD broadcasting. It also verifies that the service operates in an environment that meets the broadcast standard.

Digital Predistortion for Closely Spaced Dual-Band Signals (근접한 이중대역 신호에 대한 디지털 전치왜곡 기법)

  • A new digital pre-distortion (DPD) technique for closely spaced dual-band signals is proposed. In the system under consideration, dual-band signals are amplified by a single broadband power amplifier (PA) at a transmitter. The PA output is distorted by cross-modulation between the two bands as well as their own inter-modulation distortion. Especially, if the two bands are placed in close proximity to each other, their spectral regrowths due to in-band intermodulation overlap with each other, which degrades DPD performance. To solve this problem, we propose a new DPD technique where the dual-band PA characteristics are estimated first, and then the DPD parameters are obtained from the estimated PA characteristics. By finding the DPD parameters through two steps, pre-distortion can perform well for the closely-spaced dual band signals. The proposed technique is verified through computer simulation. Simulation result shows that the proposed method performs better than the conventional method for closely-spaced dual band signals.

Simulation of underwater echo reduction using miniaturized Helmholtz resonators (소형화된 헬름홀츠 공진기를 이용한 수중 반향음 감소해석 모의실험)

  • In this study, we investigate the echo reduction performance of miniaturinzed Helmholtz resonators using smaller than wavelength acoustic metamaterial structures. The Helmholtz resonators are formed using air structures which exhibit large impedance mismatch with the surrounding underwater environment. Using the multi-physics software package, we find that significant reduction in the sonar signature is expected and frequency tailoring is possible by controlling the degree of space coiling and inner volume of the resonators. We find that for the basic Helmholtz resonators, up to 7 dB reduction in echo is expected at 10,000 Hz while when the miniaturized Helmoholtz resonators are used, up to 14 dB reduction in echo is expected at 5,000 Hz. In addition, frequency tailoring is demonstrated by varying the internal volume of the Helmholtz resonators and broadband characteristic is shown using superposition of various degree of space coiled structures. Through this study we investigate the effectiveness of the miniaturized Helmholtz resonators formed using air structures and the echo reduction results show promisses in the application of achieving underwater stealth.

Design and Implementation of a Tunable Cavity Bandpass Filter (주파수 가변 캐비티 대역통과필터의 설계 및 구현)

  • In recent years, the demand for wireless devices incorporating several wireless communication systems into one has been increasing in order to provide services that meet the diverse needs of consumers. Wireless devices consisting of various wireless communication systems require many frequency fixed filters. A frequency tunable filter can replace a number of frequency fixed filters in the wireless devices. If a frequency tunable filter is used in wireless systems, the system can be configured more efficiently. In this paper, a 3-pole frequency tunable BPF(bandpass filter) operating in the frequency band of 800 ~ 2400MHz is designed. In order to widen the operating frequency band, a tuning screw is designed to have a step and a linear motor is used to facilitate the adjustment of the tuning screw. The implemented frequency tunable BPF operates in the designed frequency range and has the maximum insertion loss of 2.82dB in the channel band and the minimum attenuation of 18.7dB at ± 50MHz frequency offset from the center frequency of the band.

  • It has recently been noticed that the headway of unlicensed wireless technology is necessary as user's demands of wireless tech increase and the development of high-speed data service by using low-power short-range wireless network is needed. Hence, it is inevitable to study sharing and coexistence for broadband spectrum of diverse unlicensed application with wide bandwidth. In this paper, an interference examination between unlicensed WiFi (Wireless Fidelity) in the 6GHz and OB (Outside Broadcasting) system which is an incumbent service in the same frequency band was conducted and it suggests separation distance for the coexistence. Thus, MCL (Minimum Coupling Loss) and MC (Monte Carlo) methods were used to set up interference scenarios for the interference analysis and compute the separation distance between two systems according to the same frequency band and frequency separation.

  • As 5G and AI continue to develop, there has been a significant surge in the healthcare industry. The COVID-19 pandemic has posed immense challenges to the global health system. This study proposes an FL-supported edge computing model based on federated learning (FL) for predicting clinical outcomes of COVID-19 patients during hospitalization. The model aims to address the challenges posed by the pandemic, such as the need for sophisticated predictive models, privacy concerns, and the non-IID nature of COVID-19 data. The model utilizes the FATE framework, known for its privacy-preserving technologies, to enhance predictive precision while ensuring data privacy and effectively managing data heterogeneity. The model's ability to generalize across diverse datasets and its adaptability in real-world clinical settings are highlighted by the use of SHAP values, which streamline the training process by identifying influential features, thus reducing computational overhead without compromising predictive precision. The study demonstrates that the proposed model achieves comparable precision to specific machine learning models when dataset sizes are identical and surpasses traditional models when larger training data volumes are employed. The model's performance is further improved when trained on datasets from diverse nodes, leading to superior generalization and overall performance, especially in scenarios with insufficient node features. The integration of FL with edge computing contributes significantly to the reliable prediction of COVID-19 patient outcomes with greater privacy. The research contributes to healthcare technology by providing a practical solution for early intervention and personalized treatment plans, leading to improved patient outcomes and efficient resource allocation during public health crises.

  • The pipping system is widely used in many industries as equipment for transporting fluids over long distances. In high-pressure pipe, as the speed of the fluid increases, a loud noise is generated. Therefore, various studies have been conducted to reduce pipe noise. In this paper, a pipe noise analysis was developed to predict and quantitatively assess the flow-induced vibration and acoustic-induced vibration due to valve flow in high-temperature and high-pressure. To do this, a high-fidelity fluid analysis technique was developed for predicting internal flow in the pipe with valve. In additional, the contribution of compressible/incompressible pressure by frequency band was evaluated using the wavenumber-frequency analysis. To predict a low/middle frequency pipe noise, the vibroacoustic analysis method was developed based on Finite Element Method (FEM). And the pipe noise prediction method for the middle/high frequency was developed based on Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA).

  • With the ever-increasing importance of high-speed information in society as we move towards the 21 st century, telecommunication laboratories of advanced nations are pressing forward with research and development aimed at implementing its W & P(Visual Intelligent and Personal) services and construction of a new network to support them. In legals to the former, based on a long-term view of technological and market trends, those laboratories are researching and developing services that will make possible an effective progression from the development of services that answer to potential needs towards the full-scale implementation of VI & P services. In regards to the latter, these laboratories are responding in a flexible manner to the increasing diversity and disposal of the communications environment by separating the network into a transmission system and a versatile information control/conversion -ion system and laboratories are working at enhancing the performance of both. Within these board aims, the laboratories are currently focusing our attention in three areas : the technology for a high-speed broadband transmission system featuring optical frequency multiplexing and ATM techniques, network and software technologies for advanced information control and conversion, and technology for constructing a new access network that can provide a comprehensive range of multimedia services. This article describes the laboratories' concept of how VI & P services will develop in the future, and the latest trends in the field of communications. It also describes the ideal configuration of the new network and discusses the important technological aspects of how it is to be constructed. Finally, it presents the results of the laboratories'recent research which include some innovative work, point out the areas requiring future investigation.
