Plus-size 여성의 상반신 체형연구 (A Study on Body Shapes from Classification of Plus-Sized Women)

  • The purpose of this research is to define body shapes of Plus-sized women at ages between 21 and 69 whose satisfied the Plus-sized judgment criteria took part in this study. This research also classifies different body types, and provides basic data for designing prototypes according to each body type. Based on factor analysis of the measured data, nine key factors are grouped. And four different body types are classified based on the cluster analysis using factor marks. Type 1 refers to those who are tall and characterized by 'Y' body shape when looked from the front. Looking from the side, this type is comparatively balanced obese type which has flat breast and abdomen, and which has a jutting back and buttocks. Type 2 refers to those who are the shortest of all the obese with 'X' front. This type is Sway-back shape which has jutting back and abdomen but flat buttocks when looked from the side. Type 3 is characterized by 'H' body shape when looked from the front. This type is Pway-back shape which has flat back, abdomen and buttocks when looked from the side. The prominent breast part of this type is the most outstanding figure. Type 4 is characterized by 'X' when looked from the front. This type has a jutting waist and prominent buttocks when looked from the side.

A Comparison Study of Brassiere Preferences and Breast Perceptions among the Middle-aged and Older US Women

  • The bra is one of the most essential pieces of women's underwear which gives support for the breasts and holds them in position to make better outer appearance of upper body. Despite being worn by most women of all ages, brassiere manufacturers often use brassiere sizes and shapes that are close to the body measurements of women in their 20s, which raises questions whether the bras are suitable for older women's physique. Also, many lingerie markets tend to center on designs and tastes of younger women, leaving those of older women are largely ignored in the manufacturing process despite the fact that their purchasing power and market shares are expected to grow in conjunction with the aging of the global population. Against this backdrop, this study attempts to provide information about bra preferences and breast perceptions of the middle-aged and older US women over the age of 40 years to help manufacturers better understand the bra purchasing priorities and bra elements of older women and prompt them to design bras with a high level of fit and comfort that are appreciated by the population groups as a means to ultimately acquire competitive edge in the fast growing aging market. An email survey and interviews were conducted with 301 US women who live in New York City. The findings of this study suggest that there are internal and external factors such as changes in body and breast shapes with age influence the level of fitness and effectiveness of bra components, and thus the responses to the questions on bra preferences and breast perceptions varied between the researched age groups.

볼륨 유방 여성의 흉부체형 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Breast Shape Analysis of Big-breasted Women)

  • Big breasted women often experience dissatisfaction with ready-made brassieres, that do not account for individual breast types nor provide adequate cup sizes. This study was conducted to provide basic information on common breast shape and measurements of Korean big-breasted women, and to facilitate development of big-breasted women's bras with excellent fit and comfort. The study analyzed direct upper body measurements of 178 women in their 20's whith cup size C or bigger in the 5th, 6th and 7th Size Korea. In addition, 3D body scan data of women with bra size 75 and cup size C were re-collected and their breast types were examined. Average under-bust circumference of big-breasted women was 75 size in brassiere size. The average stature was 159.78 cm and the body weight was 60.33kg, indicating "overweight". Also, it was revealed that common breast types of big-breasted women, were hemispheric and cone types. The study can facilitate better understanding of breast shapes and sizes of standard big-breasted women, and will be useful as reference in selection of subjects in future studies.

성인(成人) 여성(女性)의 브래지어 치수규격설정(置數規格設定)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Establishment of Brassiere Sizing System for Adult Women)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide for the basic data useful to the development of a quality bassiere featuring a good wearing feeling, to investigate the characteristics of breast shapes by age and suggest a brassiere sizing system for woman. For this purpose, the subjects of anthropometry were 220 women aged between 20 and 59. The anthropometric measurements were analyzed by various statistical methods mean, standard deviation, F-test, Duncan-test, Factor analysis, frequency. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. According to the increase of age, the items of height were decreased and items of width, depth, circumference and length were increased, being obeser and breast point were drooped. So volume and bottom area of breast of 40 50's women were larger than 20 30's women and breast point width of 40 50's women was being wider by increase of the interior of breast. 2. From analyzing the effect of brassiere wearing, it was found that brassiere reformed the breast shape with the breast volume transferred from exterior part to interior part and the bottom area of breast diminished, so brassiere can have the breast location of adult woman up and the breast point width being centered 3. It was found that there was no direct linear relationships between under bust girth and cup size from analysis of breast measurements. Therefore those 2 factors(under bust girth and cup size) was brought into basic item of brassiere sizing system. From the dual distribution table whose intervals had been decided by KS K-0070(1999), it was picked out 12 sizes which had more than 4% of appearance for suggesting brassiere size chart. The sizing system covers 76.36% of all subjects and supply reference measurements relevant to brassiere manufacturing.

3차원의 바람직한 유방형상 구현을 위한 Semi-Atomatic Protocol 개발 및 브래지어 컵 패턴으로의 전개 (Development of a Semi-Atomatic Protocol for embodiment of a desirable 3D breast shape and deployment of bra cup pattern)

  • A breast model was for the human body was devised by studying a body scan and human body index of a desirable breast type. Thus, when manufacturing various 3D models, these results can accordingly become a fundamental basis for realizing a desirable breast model. This study aims to provide a basic data for designing the cup patterns of brassieres in order to improve the function and wearing comfort. The comfort of three kinds of brassieres were compared: one manufactured by the actual measured size; another manufactured as per the ratio of desirable upper and lower breast lengths; and the third manufactured by the 3D model attained by the desirable human body ratio. In this study, we suggest a process for realizing the desirable breast model using the ratio of bust breadth and waist front length, which are the components for deciding the appropriate position and size of breast, and which are easy to measure. The ideal breast shape is an equilateral triangle formed by connecting the nipple with the center of the clavicle. After deciding the interval between the nipples, this value can be used to configure the locations of nipples by drawing a tangent, with equal length, from the anterior neck point (which is the center of clavicle) to the nipple. Also, since inside points of breast do not exist, the outer point of breast, upper point of breast, and below point of breast on the same plane, and the depths from the nipple point to the respective points, are applied to simulate a 3D image, by modifications along the x, y, and z axes. Depending on the type of breast, the length from the center of shoulder to the nipple, the diameter of breast, upper length of breast, and the position of nipple, are different. In conical or protruding breast, the wearing sensation is better when the nipple point of brassiere was lifted, by modifying the upper and lower lengths of breast. Considering the wearing sensation and function of a brassiere, it was better to leave the wearer's size as it is and use a pad within the same cup, rather than increase the basal area of the breast in order to increase the volume.

Multistatic Field또는 3차원 공용보상체를 사용한 유방의 방사선 조사법의 평가 (Improved Breast Irradiation Techniques Using Multistatic Fields or Three Dimensional Universal Compensators)

  • 목적 : 유방보존 수술 후 행하는 방사선치료인 2문 대칭조사(two tangential field technique)시 나타나는 선량분포의 불균일성을 효과적으로 개선하기 위하여, multistatic fields의 사용법과 공용보상체 사용법을 제시하고 평가하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 1) Multistatic field 방법 3차원의 치료계획용 software (RTP)를 이용하여, wedge를 사용한 2문 대칭 조사의 최적의 치료계획을 시행한 후 beam's eye view상에서 과조사가 일어나는 부분을 가리워 주도록 blocked field를 설계하고, 그 beam에 대칭되는 beam을 만들었다. 기존의 2개의 tangential field와 추가된 field의 weighting을 최적의 선량분포를 갖도록 조절하였다. 2) 공용보상체 사용법 : 1999와 2000년에 본원에서 whole-breast radiotherapy를 받은 환자 20명의 유방의 크기를 측정하고 평균하여 표준 유방 모델을 만들었다. 이 모델에 대하여 공용보상체를 설계하고, 설계된 공용보상체의 geometry를 RTP에 입력한 후 환자의 치료 계획을 수행하였다. 2문 대칭조사 치료 계획과, multistatic fields의 경우 그리고 공용 보상체를 사용한 경우의 치료계획에서의 불균일도(DII : 처방선량의 $95-105\%$를 벗어나는 PTV의 부피의 백분율), 최대선량 값$(D_{max})$ 그리고 등가선량 곡선을 각각 비교하였다. 결과 : Multistatic field 방법은 DII의 평균값을 $14.6\%$ (p value<0.000) 낮추고 $D_{max}$$4.7\%$ (p value<0.000) 낮춤으로써, 전통적인 2문 대칭 조사법보다 우수한 방법으로 확인되었다. 반면에 공용보상체의 사용은 평균 DII를 $3.7\%$ 낮추지만(p value=0.260) 평균 $D_{max}$는 거의동일 하여($0.3\%$ 감소, p value=0.867), 전통적인 방법보다 우수성이 크게는 없는 것으로 평가되었다. 그러나 환자의 체곡선이 보상체와 잘 일치하는 경우에는 DII가 $18\%$까지 감소하였다. 결론 : Multistatic field 방법은 모든 환자에 대하여 선량분포의 균일성을 전반적으로 향상시키는 효과적인 방법으로 평가되는 반면 공용보상체의 사용은 보상체의 크기가 환자의 체 윤곽과 잘 일치하는 경우만 효과적으로, 적용의 범위에는 한계가 있는 방법으로 평가되었다.

  • 유방암은 그 조기 발견이 암환자의 사망률을 줄이는 데 있어서 가장 중요한 요소임을 알려져 있다. 스크리닝 검사에 의해 발견되는 유방암의 20%정도를 차지하는 DCIS(ductal carcinoma in situ)의 경우 미세석회화만이 필름 상에서 볼 수 있는 유일한 소견이다. 따라서 미세석회화를 발견하고 그 형태와 분포의 분석을 통한 진단이 암의 조기 발견에 매우 중요하다. 이 검출과정을 자동화하려는 시도가 디지털 영상처리 기술의 관심이 되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 상관계수를 특징(feature)으로 사용하여 성능을 향상시킨 통계적 패턴 분류법을 제안하였다. 결과적인 검출율은 통계적 문턱치 설정에 의한 이진호 방법과 비교하여 48%에서 83%로 향상되었다. 성능은 TP와 FP로 평가되었으며 클래스 구분시의 오차도 함께 나타내었다.

Texture Softening of Beef and Chicken by Enzyme Injection Process

  • This research focuses on a new softening technology for use with chicken breast and eye of round beef in order to assist elderly individuals who have difficulty with eating due to changes in their ability to chew (masticatory function) or swallow. We investigated the hardness of chicken breast and eye of round beef through use of a texture analyzer after injection of a commercial enzyme. Among 7 commercial enzymes, bromelain and collupulin exhibited a marked softening effect on the tested chicken breast and eye of round beef given a 1.00% enzyme concentration. The hardness of bromelain-treated chicken breast reached 1.4×104 N/m2, of collupulin-treated chicken breast reached 3.0×104 N/m2, and of bromelain-treated eye of round beef reached 3.2×104 N/m2, respectively, while their original shapes did not change. To find the level of tissue degradation with specific enzyme concentrations, enzyme injections at 0.1%, 0.25%, 0.50%, and 1.00% concentration of bromelain and papain were also evaluated. The results of this research could be useful for softening chicken breast and eye of round beef and will contribute to the development of foods that can be more easily eaten as part of a balanced diet for elderly adults.

3차원 인체 측정을 이용한 40대 여성의 상반신 체형을 고려한 브래지어 패턴 개발 (Brassiere Pattern Development Based on 3D Measurements of Upper Body Types for Women in Their 40's)

  • The purpose of the study lies in the measurements of breast shapes and upper body types for the women in their 40's, with the use of 3D measurement system, and in the presentation of brassiere patterns fit for their body types. As for the study method, 3D human body types were analyzed with RapidForm 2006, and the upper-body types and breast shapes were statistically classified through technical statistics analysis, cluster analysis, t-test, variance analysis, and cross analysis. The wearing tests went through the comparison of the brassieres of three makers in the market and the experiment brassieres(first and second) and then the evaluations were made by the subjects, the outer appearance assessment by experts, and 3D measurements. The findings of the study indicated that the evaluation of experiment brassieres was excellent in every item, and he significant difference was found out particularly in the items of pressure, rear center, front center, breast underneath, adequate level by wing, and adequate level by armhole. According to the results of 3D evaluation, experiment brassieres had a highest point in fitness with no physical pressure at the wing part and no overall deviation at the cup art. The pattern comparison showed the differences in the parts of total cup angle, cup circumference length, lower cup height, wing length, and wing angle.
