항로 주변의 사석경사제 제두부의 수리학적 특성 연구 (Hydraulic stability at the head of rubble mound breakwater around the entrance harbour)

  • The failure at the head section of rubble mound breakwaters is more important than other failure modes. because this initial failures will occur the failure of the trunk section and lead to the instability of the structure. The three-dimensional failure modes are discussed using the experimental data with multi-directional waves considering the failure modes. It was occurred by the topographical characteristics around the head of rubble mound breakwater. The spacial characteristics of failure mode around the rubble-mound structures can be summarized as follows: 1) It was clarified that the failure modes at the round head of a detached breakwater are classified as failure by plunging breaker on the slope, failure by direct incident wave force and failure at the rubble mound breakwaters. 2) The failure mode was found in the lower wave height than the design wave by the breaker depth effects and topography around structures. It is clarified that the structure was monitored safely designed for the design wave but the failure was occurred by the reason of breaker waves.

  • The failure at the head section of rubble-mound detached breakwaters is more important than other failure modes. because this initial failures will occur the failure of the trunk section and lead to the instability of the structure. It is clarified that the structure monitored was safely designed for the design wave but the failure was occurred by the reason of breaker waves and scouring processes at the toe 3) It was observed that scouring at the toe developed in the region where steady stream due to vorticity was generated and the spatial variation of scour at the toe of the round head was predominated by incident wave direction.

  • 최근 송전전압 격상으로 인해 차단기 또한 정격이 높아지고 있다. 이에 차단부의 전압 정격을 높이기 위한 방법으로 차단부 2개 이상을 직렬로 구성하는 다점절 차단기가 설치되어 운용되고 있다. 다점절 차단기에서 차단부 극간에 설치되는 균압용 콘덴서는 점절간 균등한 전압분배와 초기 과도회복전압을 저감하는 기능을 수행한다. 하지만, 세계적으로 실계통 사용에서 균압용 콘덴서는 기계적인 손상, 절연파괴에 의한 폭발 등 다수의 고장이 발생하고 있어, 이에 대한 원인 규명과 새로운 성능 검증방법에 대한 연구 필요성이 제기 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 한전 계통에서 주로 발생한 균압용 콘덴서의 절연파괴 원인을 규명하고 이에 대한 제품 성능검증 방법을 제안하고자 한다.

전동차 고속차단기 고장 분석을 위한 FMECA 기법 (FMECA Procedure for Failure Analysis of Train High-Speed Circuit Breaker)

  • 전동차는 대용량 교통수단으로서 정시 운행 및 높은 안전성이 요구되기 때문에, 고장 분석을 체계적으로 수행하여 신뢰도를 향상시키기 위한 수단으로서 고장 영향의 심각도 및 치명도를 정량적으로 평가하는 FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis) 기법이 적용되고 있다. 그러나, 아직까지 전동차에 특화된 FMECA 규격 및 절차는 정립되어 있지 않고 자동차 산업 등 다른 산업분야의 FMECA 규격을 그대로 적용하고 있기 때문에 전동차의 고유한 운영 및 유지보수 여건을 충분히 반영하지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 산업계 각 분야에서 적용되고 있는 FMECA 규격에 대한 분석을 토대로, 전동차 분야에 적합한 FMECA 기법으로서 고장 영향 분석과 치명도 분석을 단계별로 나누어 수행하고 고장 영향의 심각도에 중점을 두어 치명도를 분석하는 기법을 제시하였다. 제안 기법을 전동차의 핵심 안전 장치인 고속차단기에 적용하여 도시철도 현장에서의 15년 동안의 전동차 유지보수 데이터를 이용하여 분석한 결과, 고속차단기 부품 중에서 특히 아크 슈트의 절손이 심각도 3등급, 치명도 5등급으로 위험도가 가장 높았으며, 뒤를 이어서 전자변 파손 및 접촉 불량, 실린더 파손 등이 심각도 3등급, 치명도 4등급으로 위험도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 분석 결과는 전동차 고속차단기의 설계 및 유지보수 업무의 개선에 활용할 수 있다.

Preventing cascading failure of electric power protection systems in nuclear power plant

  • Cascading failure is the main cause of large blackouts in electrical power systems; this paper analyzes a cascading failure in Hanbit nuclear power plant unit two (2) caused by a circuit breaker (CB) operation failure. This malfunction has been expanded to the loss of offsite power (LOOP). In this study, current practices are reviewed and then the methodologies of how to prevent cascading failures in protection power systems are introduced. An overview on the implementation of IEC61850 GOOSE messaging-based zone selective interlocking (ZSI) scheme as key solution is proposed. In consideration of ZSI blocking time, all influencing factors such as circuit breaker opening time, relay I/O response time and messages travelling time in the communication network should be taken into account. The purpose of this paper is to elaborate on the effect of cascading failure in NPP electrical power protection system and propose preventive actions for this failures. Finally, the expected advantages and challenges are elaborated.

  • Even the case DC circuit Breaker have good quality for interruption of high current like heavy load current, short-circuit current, the verification for small current breaking capability of circuit breaker should be performed. It comes from the reason DC small current breaking failure can be lead to break out second heavy fault condition and in the long run substation shutdown. In this paper, we can find the characteristics of DC small current and international test standard discription about small current breaking and one of the proper solution to get over it.

Electromagnetic Actuator with Novel Electric Brake for Circuit Breaker

  • At the stroke end of an electromagnetic circuit breaker, the high speed of the mover makes a huge impact at the contact point, which induces the rebound problem of the mover that causes a breaker failure. Thus, a speed reduction equipment is required to address such problems. This study suggests to use an electric brake reduces the speed at the end of the stroke. The proposed circuit breaker which adopts the electric brake has a variable speed reduction function such that the continued rebound phenomenon ceases to occur. The electric brake is designed by the Finite Element Method (FEM) and the circuit and motion equations are solved using Time Difference Method (TDM). The comparisons between the simulation and experiments demonstrated the usefulness and validity of this study.

초전도 코일을 이용한 DC 회로 차단기의 차단 능력 특성 (Characteristics of Interruption Ability in DC Circuit Breaker using Superconducting Coil)

  • Development of DC interruption technology is being studied actively for enhanced DC grid reliability and stability. In this study, coil type superconductor DC circuit breaker was proposed as DC interruption. It is integration technology that combined current-limiting technique using superconductor and cut-off technique using mechanical DC circuit breaker. Superconductor was applied to the coil type. In simulation, Mayr arc model was applied to realize the arc characteristic in the mechanical DC circuit breaker. PSCAD/EMTDC had used to model and perform the simulation. To find out the protection range of coil type superconductor DCCB, the working operation have analyzed based on the rated voltage of DCCB. The results confirmed that, according to apply the limiting device, the protection range was increased in twice. Therefore, the probability of failure of interruption has lowered significantly.

전기자동차 충전기의 누전차단기 감도 전류 Trip 방지를 위한 Joule Heating 시뮬레이션 방안연구 (A Study on Joule Heating Simulation Method to Prevent Sensitivity Current Trip of Electric Vehicle Charger)

  • 본 논문에서는 충전 시 발생하는 누전차단기 Trip으로 충전 중단에 의한 전기자동차 사용자의 불편함을 방지하기 위한 것이다. 현장 사례연구로 충전기 고장(failure) 유형, 차종별 누설전류 측정실험, 누전차단기 동작 실험 시 여름철 충전기 내부 온도가 60 ℃이상까지 상승하여 누전차단기가 정격 감도 전류의 80%에서 Trip으로 충전 중단됨을 확인하였다. Joule Heating 모델링을 통하여 32A 전류를 초기 시간 t=0 (s)의 기준온도 30℃에서 통전하여 t=3000 (s)경과 후에는 누전차단기 충전부 주위에서 발열이 32.4℃까지 증가함을 시뮬레이션으로 확인하였으며, 통계 검증 tool을 활용하여 온도 및 시간(s) 요인이 발생 열량에 상관관계 0.97로 검증되었다. 본 논문의 연구 실험 결과는 충전기 기구 물 개발 시 충전케이스의 재질, 내부 배선의 배치, 유전 매질에 따른 Joule Heating 시뮬레이션 수행으로 여름철 충전기 내부 온도 상승에 의한 누전차단기 감도 전류 Trip을 방지할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

FTA를 적용한 태양광 발전 및 ESS 연계형 PCS의 안전성 평가 (Safety Assessment for PCS of Photovoltaic and Energy Storage System Applying FTA)

  • This paper presents a safety assessment based approach for the safe operation for PCS(Power Conditioning System) of photovoltaic and energy storage systems, applying FTA. The approach established top events as power outage and a failure likely to cause the largest damage among the potential risks of PCS. Then the Minimal Cut Set (MCS) and the importance of basic events were analyzed for implementing risk assessment. To cope with the objects, the components and their functions of PCS were categorized. To calculate the MCS frequency based on IEEE J Photovolt 2013, IEEE Std. 493-2007 and RAC (EPRD, NPRD), the failure rate and failure mode were produced regarding the basic events. In order to analyze the top event of failure and power outage, it was assumed that failures occurred in DC breaker, AC breaker, SMPS, DC filter, Inverter, CT, PT, DSP board, HMI, AC reactor, MC and EMI filter and Fault Tree was drawn. It is expected that the MCS and the importance of basic event resulting from this study will help find and remove the causes of failure and power outage in PCS for efficient safety management.
