Minimum Raising Duration of Infant Rice Seedling for Machine Transplanting (벼 기계이앙용 어린모 최소 육묘기간)

  • The duration of raising seedling of infant rice seedling(IRS) in machine transplanting is 8 to 10 days. This experiment was conducted to investigate the minimum duration of IRS's raising seedling and its method by the combination of several treatments such as plant growth regulator, root-break-seat and temperature. The rice seeds of Hwaseongbyeo was soaked in the solution of metalaxyl for 24 hours at room temperature. Metalaxyl (25% wettable powder), a fungicide, was used in 1, 000 times dilution as a promting substance on the root-mat formation of IRS. The application of fungicide in the nursery soil for the controlling of damping-off and physiologyical seedling rot was omitted due to the metalaxyl seed-soaking treatment. Seeding rate was 220g per seed tray (30$\times$60$\times$3cm). To promote the root-mat formation of IRS, the sheets of polyethylene vinyl and absorptive paper were placed bottom the seed tray. The root-mat formation of IRS was promoted at higher temperature and longer duration of raising seedling. The metalaxyl-treated seeds markedly increased the root length and rooting activity of IRS as compared with the control, thus the root-mat formation was excellent. The absorptive paper with polyethylene vinyl as root-break-seat showed a better root-mat formation compared with control, polyethylene vinyl, alone. The minimum duration of raising seedling of IRS was 5 days after sowing based on the root-mat formation and seedling height under the condition of metalaxyl seed treatment, absorptive paper with polyethylene vinyl as a root-break-seat and the raising seedling temperature 30/2$0^{\circ}C$ (day /night).

Optimal Issuance Price of Carbon Credits in the Energy Industry (에너지산업 분야 탄소배출권의 적정 발행가격 분석)

  • In this study, the optimal level of CER issuance price in the energy industry was estimated using a real options considering the uncertainty of emission price. As a result of the analysis, the break-even point for CDM projects in the energy industry registered by UNFCCC from December 2012 to the end of 2021 was 0.64-36.69 euros per ton of CO2 for each individual project. More closely, the emission permit price that reaches the break-even point when NPVw/o CER+ NPVCER ≥ 0 is estimated to be 12.10 euros on average, and the emission permit price that reaches the break-even point when NPVw/o CER + NPVCER ≥ option value is estimated to be 12.63 euros on average. Meanwhile, the option value using real options to reduce business uncertainty is about 19% at the 1-5 euro per ton level, about 11% at the 5-10 euro per ton level, and about 5% at the 10-15 euro per ton level. It was analyzed that there was an effect of increasing emissions prices due to uncertainty reduction. The results of this study may be useful to greenhouse gas reduction project entities, including investors, project operators, and companies with potential mandatory reductions.

  • In this paper, we implemented an e-mail and chat program (client) for communication between mobile devices and PCs based on WIPI a South Korea's open wireless platform form developing device and content independent software to break from the way of developing contents that is dependent on different wireless platforms to each mobile communications company. While traditional e-mail and chat programs are written for PC-to-PC communication, we develop them for mobile-to-PC and mobile-to-mobile communications, and we expect to see various mobile contents in the future.

  • In this paper we examine long-term memory of the financial time-series by employing the R/S analysis, the Hurst exponent estimation, and the modified R/S analysis. The null hypothesis of white-noise is tested using the NYSE daily indexes from January 1966 to July 1998, and the results show that long-range dependence exists before the apparent structural break of the Black Monday in 1987.

  • The Conventional market located in Yangyang, Gangwon is currently facing the crisis, so it needs a new strategy to break a slowdown. Nevertheless, the local residents are looking forward to activating Yangyang conventional markets. To this end, the associates shall utilize their advantages of Yangyang conventional markets to supply cheap and good quality to guests with differentiated strategies. The purpose of the study is to analyze Yangyang conventional markets with architectural aspect and to provide conventional markets in each region with alternatives for revitalization.

  • Experiments revealed that green water phenomena resemble dam-break, in which flow over deck edge forms a vertical wall of water and suddenly falls down into deck. In this paper the dam breaking problems were formulated using Glimm's algorithm, so-rolled, Random Choice method and, several validations were presented.

  • Recent advances in the synthesis and characterization of nanoscale objects provided us with the atomistic understanding of charge transport through single molecular junctions. The representative examples are the mechanically controlled break junction technique and STM or conducting AFM junction techniques. Theoretical studies have been reported on the dependence of electronic charge transport on the geometry of molecule-electrode contacts, the critical element toward the realization of molecular electronics. In this report, we will clarify the puzzling discrepancies between theoretical predictions and experiments.

  • For irregular nonlinear systems, switching controlk form is proposed recently. This control law is designed to overcome the singularities through the scheme that switches between an approximate tracking law close to the singularities, and an exact tracking law away from the singularities. But, that form has problems which may break the system's stability through unstable control input value at switching procedure. In this paper, We propose new switching control law which supervises approximate tracking control law and exact tracking control law by fuzzy rules to overcome unstability problem in switching procedure.

  • Arrhenius plots are useful in predicting long-term use temperatures of organic materials and in choosing parameters for accelerated aging. The effects of antioxidant on the heat resistance and temperature index of EPDM rubber used for electrical insulation were investigated. The short-time points were obtained by 50% retention of elongation at break.

  • The horizontal high energy rotor ball mill ($Simoloyer^{(R)}$) is used to break and activate dry solids. It is used for dry-milling and in the vertical mount for wet-milling in leaching processes. Technical electric arc furnace (EAF) dust with high contents of zinc oxide, zinc ferrite and magnetite is efficiently separated by ambient temperature leaching.
