마야의 경전 『포폴 부』에 구현된 심층생태학적 유토피아 (The Ecological Utopia of the World in Mayan Popol Vuh.)

  • 본 논문은 마야인의 성서라고 일컬어지는 "포폴 부"를 심층생태학(Deep ecology)적 관점에서 살펴보는 작업으로 준비되었다. 기존의 "포폴 부" 연구가 신화 연구 중심으로 이루어져왔고 무엇보다 마야의 창조 신화에 대한 우화적 요소를 소개하는 형태로 전개되어온 만큼 "포폴 부"에 대한 다양한 방식의 접근이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 기존 연구에서 찾기 어려운 생태학점 관점에서 마야-키체의 경전을 다시 살펴보고자 한다. 이는 신화에 가려진 포폴 부의 민낯을 찾아가는 궤적이 될 것이다. 생태학 혹은 심층 생태학적으로 작품을 고찰하고자 한 것은 무엇 보다 "포폴 부"가 다른 문화권의 창조 신화와는 층위가 다른 생태인식을 배태하고 있기 때문이다. 주지하다시피 심층생태학은 기존의 환경운동을 표층생태학이라고 비판하면서 태동한 개념으로, 자연을 대하는 인간 자신의 도덕적, 윤리적 변화를 촉구하는데, 이 때문에 필연적으로 '형이상학적' 차원의 성격을 띠게 된다. 이렇듯 심층 생태학은 무엇보다 근대 이후의 인간중심주의, 이분법적 사고, 이성중심주의를 탈피할 것을 주창한다. 마야의 "포폴 부"도 이러한 인식을 담아낸 텍스트로 심층생태학적 분석을 통해 이 작품에 내재한 유토피아적 세계관을 살펴보았다.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study is to examine the Effect of Lunge Exercise on the Balance of Stable and Unstable Supporting surface. Method : The experimenter was a healthy twenties male and female. The period was two weeks, divided into a stable group and a unstable group. Setting the holding time 4 sec 3 sets of 10 times using the Stable and Unstable Supporting Surfaces. The break time was set at one minute for each set. Balance cushions were used for unstable supporting surfaces. Results : After Lunge Exercise, Both groups had an impact on improving their ability to balance. Conclusion : There has not been much change in the ability to balance the stable and Unstable Supporting Surfaces. However, considering surface conditions, the pre and post exercise comparisons had an effect on improving the ability to balance.

Study on the Thermal Degradation Behavior of FKM O-rings

  • The degradation mechanism and physical properties of an FKM O-ring were observed with thermal aging in this experiment. From X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis, we could observe carbon (285 eV), fluoro (688 eV), and oxygen (531 eV) peaks. Before thermal aging, the concentration of fluoro atoms was 51.23%, which decreased to 8.29% after thermal aging. The concentration of oxygen atoms increased from 3.16% to 20.39%. Under thermal aging, the FKM O-ring exhibited debonding of the fluoro-bond by oxidation. Analysis of the C1s, O1s, and F1s peaks revealed that the degradation reaction usually occurred at the C-F, C-F2, and C-F3 bonds, and generated a carboxyl group (-COOH) by oxidation. Due to the debonding reaction and decreasing mobility, the glass transition temperature of the FKM O-ring increased from $-15.91^{\circ}C$ to $-13.79^{\circ}C$. From the intermittent CSR test, the initial sealing force was 2,149.6 N, which decreased to 1,156.2 N after thermal aging. Thus, under thermal aging, the sealing force decreased to 46.2%, compared with its initial state. This phenomenon was caused by the debonding reaction and decreasing mobility of the FKM O-ring. The S-S curve exhibited a 50% increase in modulus, with break at a low strain and stress state. This was also attributed to the decreasing mobility due to thermal aging degradation.

T-GDI 엔진의 속도 및 하중이 블로우바이 가스의 오일입자 크기와 오일분리기 성능에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험 및 수치적 연구 (Experimental and Numerical Investigation of the Effect of Load and Speed of T-GDI Engine on the Particle Size of Blow-by Gas and Performance of Oil Mist Separator)

  • The worldwide focus on reducing the emissions, fuel and lubricant consumption in T-GDI engines is leading engineers to consider the crankcase ventilation and oil mist separation system as an important means of control. In today's passenger cars, the oil mist separation systems mainly use the inertia effect (e.g. labyrinth, cyclone etc.). Therefore, this study has investigated high efficiency cylinder head-integrated oil-mist separator by using a compact multi-impactor type oil mist separator system to ensure adequate oil mist separation performance. For this purpose, engine dynamometer testing with oil particle efficiency measurement equipment and 3D two-phase flow simulation have been performed for various engine operating conditions. Tests with an actual engine on a dynamometer showed oil aerosol particle size distributions varied depending on operating conditions. For instance, high rpm and load increases bot only blow-by gases but the amount of small size oil droplets. Submicron-sized particles (less than 0.5 ㎛) were also observed. It is also found that the impactor type separator is able to separate nearly no droplets of diameter lower than 3 ㎛. CFD results showed that the complex aerodynamics processes that lead to strong impingement and break-up can strip out large droplets and generate more small size droplets.

배초향 종자처리가 발아성 향상에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Seed Treatment on Improved Germinability of Agastache rugosa O. Kuntze)

  • This study was carried out to establish optimal conditions for breaking dormancy of Agastache rugosa O. Kuntze seeds. A series of experiments according to seed maturity and treatment with plant growth regulators were performed to improve germination percentage and synchronize germination of the seeds. In addition, it was conducted to test whether the useful effect of seed treatment before sowing leads to healthy seedling and early vigorous growth. The average seed size was 1.85 mm (length) × 0.82 mm(width). The seed size was much smaller than other vegetable seeds. Seeds colorappeared dark brown, the shape of the seeds was oval and the weight of 1,000seeds was 352.8 mg. The optimum germination temperature was 22℃. Light exposure during germination did not affect germination promotion, suggesting that A. rugosa seeds are a kind of dark germinating seeds. Seed dormancy lasted for 40 days after harvesting, and GA3 treatment of dormant seeds could break dormancy. There were significant differences in germination percentage and rate according to the maturity of seeds. The germination percentage of mature seeds was 10 - 18% higher than that of immature seeds, and germination rate was 2 days faster. GA3 treatment during growth regulator treatment improved germinability, but BAP or ethephone treatment did not. The optimal growth regulator concentration of for germination was the combination treatment of 100 mM GA3 + 100 mM BAP.

Effects of Complex Korean Medicine Treatment on a Patient with Knee Pain and Ankylosis Following a Distal Femur Osteotomy: A Case Report

  • Distal femur osteotomy (DFO) is a controlled surgical break of the femur performed to allow realignment of the limb. Redistribution of the load aims to correct the abnormal mechanical weight-bearing axes in patients with abnormal alignment of the lower extremities, and degenerative changes in the knee joint. This report describes a complex Korean medicine treatment for a patient complaining of knee pain and stiffness following a DFO. Post-operative care for the patient lasted 78 days with treatment including pharmacopuncture, acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping therapy, and physiotherapy. The effectiveness of the treatments was evaluated using the numerical rating scale, range of motion of the knee, and by physical examination. After treatment, these evaluation indicators improved, suggesting that the complex Korean medicine treatment received by the patient was an appropriate treatment for knee pain and stiffness following a DFO.

엉덩허리근에 대한 수동 신장이 폐 기능에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Passive Stretching of the Iliopsoas Muscles on Pulmonary Function)

  • PURPOSE: By virtue of its location, the iliopsoas muscle has the potential to affect the function of the diaphragm. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of passive stretching of the iliopsoas muscles on pulmonary function. METHODS: Twenty male university students participated in this study. Subjects with low back pain, negative results on the modified Thomas test, and chest breathing patterns not directly related to the function of the iliopsoas muscles were excluded from this study. A digital pulmonary function measuring device (Pony FX, COSMED Inc, Italy) was used to test pulmonary function. The test was performed three times: the first test before passive stretching, the second test 10 minutes after the first test, and the third after passive stretching. Passive stretching was performed 5 times for each of the left and right iliopsoas muscles. Passive stretching was carried out for 20 seconds followed by a 10-second break. The SPSSWIN (ver. 27.0) statistics program was used for data analysis, and the significance level was α =.05. RESULTS: Among slow vital capacity (SVC) parameters, tidal volume (VT), inspiratory reserve volume (IRV), inspiratory capacity (IC) and vital capacity (VC) improved significantly after passive stretching. Also, among the maximal effort vital capacity (MEVC) parameters, forced vital capacity(FVC) and forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1) improved significantly after passive stretching. CONCLUSION: The results showed that among the various pulmonary function parameters measured, passive stretching of the iliopsoas muscles can improve the SVC and MEVC. Therefore, passive stretching of the iliopsoas muscles may be considered for use as a treatment method to improve pulmonary function.

황혼이혼 여성노인들에 대한 생애사 연구 (A life history study on the elderly women who have divorced)

  • 본 연구는 황혼이혼이 점차 증가하고 있는 현 시점에서 황혼이혼을 한 여성노인들의 이혼결정과 이혼 이후의 적응과정 및 내용을 살펴보고, 황혼이혼 여성 노인들의 구체적 삶에 대한 이해의 기반을 조성해 그들의 적응을 도울 수 있는 실천적 개입 프로그램 마련에 기여하고자 수행되었다. 연구는 질적 연구 방법론들 중 하나 인 생애사 연구로 접근했다. 연구에는 3명의 황혼이혼여성 노인들이 참여했고 일대일 심층면담을 통해 자료를 수집했다. 수집된 자료는 Denzin(1989)이 제시한 분석방법을 원용하여 범주적 내용분석을 했다. 연구결과에서는 참여자들의 이혼 전·후의 주요 생애주제와 이혼 이후의 삶 적응을 분석하여 공통의 주제를 발견했는데 그것은 '문화체계로 굳어진 가부장제'와 '편견과 억압속의 분절된 삶'이다. 이를 통해 본 연구에서는 황혼이혼 여성노인들을 위한 자조모임과 특화된 개입프로그램의 필요성을 제언하고자 하였다.

  • 본고는 음악 문화의 전통적인 관습에서 벗어나고자 하는 움직임인 사운드스케이프에 관해 연구한다. 사회·문화·기술적 발전이 음악 문화의 패러다임 변화에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지를 사운드스케이프에 주목하여 살펴본다. 변화 양상으로서 사운드스케이프의 특성을 이해하고 지금껏 간과해 왔던 청각의 특성과 청취 경험에 관해 현상학의 관점으로 논의한다. 이상의 논의를 위해 머레이 쉐이퍼의 사운드스케이프 개념에 기반하며 청각과 청취 경험에 대한 현상학적 이해를 위해 상황의 공간성, 주관적인 청점, 사운드의 지평, 청각의 장, 배경음과 전경음, 시의적 초점, 공시간, 세계-에의-존재 등의 개념으로 설명한다. 사운드의 특성과 청각, 청취 경험에 대한 이해가 예술적 창작에 있어 창의적인 표현을 위한 새로운 아이디어를 제시하는 데 기여할 수 있기를 기대해 본다.

기계식 전처리를 이용한 하수슬러지의 가용화 (Disintegration of Sewage Sludge Using Mechanical Pre-treatment)

  • 본 연구에서는 기계식 전처리에 의한 하수 슬러지의 가용화 효과를 회분식 실험을 통해 조사하였다. 기계식 전처리를 통한 하수슬러지의 가용화는 세포벽의 파괴로 통해 용존성 화학적 산소요구량, 단백질 및 탄수화물의 농도를 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 알칼리와 기계식 전처리를 병행하여 슬러지를 가용화한 결과 기계식 전처리만을 수행한 경우에 비해 용존성 화학적 산소요구량이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 혐기성 생분해도 측면에서 기계식 전처리는 메탄 발생량을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 기계식과 알칼리 및 기계식 전처리를 동시에 수행한 경우 각각 24.1%와 44.5%의 생화학적 메탄 잠재능을 향상시키는 것으로 나타나 하수슬러지의 가용화는 혐기성 생분해도 향상에 효과적이다.
