유도전동기의 고조파 저감장치 성능 비교 분석 (Analysing and comparing efficiency of harmonic reduction equipment for Induction Motor)

  • Recently, power conversion equipment increased rapidly makes a lot of harmonics. Thus, it is growing that wrong operation and break down of sensitive devices. There are two kinds of causes of harmonics. One of them is lots of power conversion equipment as modem controller, inverter, converter and SWS(Switching Mode Power Supply). Another is nonlinear operating machines as transformer and motor. The more nonlinear loads like them grow, the more serious problems as harmonic current to source and low power factor because of increasing reactive power grow. It is installed for reactor and L-C Filter to decrease harmonic in general. This paper analysis and compares two of characteristics and harmonic from reactor and L-C Filter with operation of induction motor and power conversion equipment. In the result, L-C Filter more improves unbalance rate and THD than reactor.

대형디젤기관에서 GTL 연료 적용에 따른 기관성능 및 배출 가스 특성 (Engine Performance and Emission Characteristics in A HD Diesel Engine by the Application of GTL Fuel)

  • 본 연구에서는 디젤기관의 친환경 대체연료인 GTL 연료 사용으로 인한 기관성능 및 배출가스의 특성을 알아보기 위하여 12,000cc급 대형디젤기관을 기관성능 모드에서 GTL 및 ULSD 연료를 사용하여 실험 분석하였으며 단일 모드를 사용하여 기관 속도 및 부하에 따른 배출가스 특성을 파악하였고, 최종적으로 2006년 현재 국내 규제시험 모드이고 유로IV 규제 모드인 ESC 모드를 사용하여 GTL연료의 성능 및 배출가스의 배출 특성을 분석하여 현재 운행 중인 대형디젤기관으로의 적용 가능성을 검토하였다.

  • In this paper, it is considered spike voltage that is generated by ignoring the recovery time of switching device, turn on and turn off time. In the same principle, this spike voltage will be applicable to diode recovery time. The spike voltage causes to break down insulation of input transformer. So, we will show how to remove spike voltage by optimizing value of R and C and using switching diode which have fast recovery time.

Mechanical Properties and Water Absorption of Rice Starch-Filled Linear Low Density Polyethylene

  • Rice starch was incorporated into linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) using a Brabender Plastic-Corder internal mixer at a temperature of 140$\^{C}$ and 40 rpm. The starch loading was varied from 0 to 30% with 5 intervals. Studies on brabender torque development, mechanical properties and water absorption were investigated. The starch loading did not influence the brabender torque significantly. With respect to mechanical properties; the tensile strength and elongation at break decrease with increasing starch loading. The Young's modulus also increases with the starch filling. Mechanical properties were deteriorated as the starch absorbed moisture. The rate of water absorption was dependent on the starch filling in the composites. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis was performed for the tensile fracture surfaces and it revealed the starch agglomeration and a poor dispersion of starch in the LLDPE matrix.

Synthesis and Characterization of DNA-Templated Nanostructures: Toward Molecular Electronics

  • Molecular electronics has been the subject of intese research for many years because of the fundamental interest in molecular charge transport and potential applications, such as (bio)nanosensors and molecular memory devices. Molecular electronics requires a method for making reliable eletrical contacts to singlemolecules. To date, several approaches have been reported: scanning-probe microscopy, mechanical break junctions, nano patterning, and direct deposition of electrode on a self-assembled monolayers. However, most methods are laborious and difficult for large-scale application and more importantly, cannot control the number of moleucles in the junction. Recently, DNA has been used as a template for metallic nanostructures (e.g., Ag, Pd, and Au nanowires) through DNA metallization process. Furthermore, oligodeoxynucleotides have been tethered to organic molecules by using conventional organic reactions. Collectively, these techniques should provide an efficient route toward reliable and reproducible molecular electronic devices with large-scale fabrication. Therefore, I will present a paradigm for the fabrication of moleuclar electronic devices by using micrometer-sized DNA-singe organic molecule and DNA triblock structures.

  • It is most important to design the roll pass in shape rolling process. However, roll pass design has been accomplished by experience and intuition of a skilled engineer up to now. And it has being produced throughout a lot of trial and error. Thus, in this study, we tried to analysis the rolling process of H-beam by using FEM program for the quantitative evaluation of the plastic deformation. It could be predicted that rolling load, torque, shape of cross section and distribution of effective strain each pass by the analysis of rolling from break down mill(2 Hi rolling) to finishing rolling(Universal rolling) considering the heat transfer.

PHOTOCATALYTIC REACTION OF $TiO_2$ FOR PURIFICATION OF AIR

  • Photo-excited $TiO_2$ surface has a strong ability to induce various chemical reactions. Our study concentrates mainly on the utilisation of light energy to induce reactive radicals for environmental protection application. For instance, we have successfully used TiO$_2$ to break down foul smelling substances in air. In order to retain and separate the $TiO_2$ catalyst from the reactants and products, $TiO_2$ was immobilised by fixing onto various substrates. $TiO_2$ catalyst coated onto glass, wall paper and painted panel was found to show significant deodorising effect. The deodorising effect continues as long as$TiO_2$ is exposed to light irradiation.

Kinetics and Mechanism for the Reaction of 4-Nitrophenyl 2-Furoate with Secondary Alicyclic Amines

  • Second-order-rate constants (kN) have been measured spectrophotometrically for the reactions of 4-nitrophenyl 2-furoate (1) with a series of secondary alicyclic amines in H2O containing 20 mole % DMSO at 25.0℃. 1 is about 5-8 times more reactive than 4-nitrophenyl benzoate (2), although 1 is expected to be less reactive than 2 based on MO calculations and 13 C NMR study. The Brфnsted-type plots for the aminolysis reactions of 1 and 2 are linear with βnuc values of 0.78 and 0.85, respectively. The replacement of the CH=CH group by an O atom in the acyl moiety (2->1) does not cause any mechanism change. The reaction of piperidine with a series of substituted phenyl 2-furoates gives a linear Hammett plot with a large ρ- value (ρ- = 2.88) when σ- constants are used. The linear Brфnsted and Hammett plots with a large ρ- value suggest that the aminolysis reaction of 1 proceeds via rate-determining break-down of the addition intermediate to the porducts.

  • This paper is intended to show the robustness and capabilities of a coupled boundary element-finite element technique for the analysis of vibrations generated by high-speed trains under different geometrical, mechanical and operation conditions. The approach has been developed by the authors and some results have already been presented. Nevertheless, a more comprehensive study is presented in this paper to show the relevance and robustness of the method which is able to predict vibrations due to train passage at the vehicle, the track, the free-field and any structure close to the track. Local soil discontinuities, underground constructions such as underpasses, and coupling with nearby structures that break the uniformity of the geometry along the track line can be represented by the model. Non-linear behaviour of the structures can be also considered. Results concerning the excitation mechanisms, track behaviour and sub-Rayleigh and super-Rayleigh train speed are summarized in this work.

Enhancement of Signal-to-noise Ratio Based on Multiplication Function for Phi-OTDR

  • We propose a novel methodology based on the multiplication function to improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for vibration detection in a phi optical time-domain reflectometer system (phi-OTDR). The extreme-mean complementary empirical mode decomposition (ECEMD) is designed to break down the original signal into a set of inherent mode functions (IMFs). The multiplication function in terms of selected IMFs is used to determine a vibration's position. By this method, the SNR of a phi-OTDR system is enhanced by several orders of magnitude. Simulations and experiments applying the method to real data prove the validity of the proposed approach.
