We investigate factors that influence the choice of high-share brands(HSBs) vs. low-share brands(LSBs) among various product and consumer characteristics related to brand-share perceptions. Specifically, using 8 product categories varying in terms of purchase decision involvement, we show how the influencing factors vary across the categories. At the general level that cover all the 8 categories, our hierarchical Bayesian regressions analysis shows that factors that favor high-share brands are purchase decision involvement, search goods, experience goods, price-quality relationship, positive network externalities, and price-prestige beliefs. Conversely, consumers who value variety seeking and need for uniqueness favor low-share brands. The effects of these factors, however, vary across product categories. The identification of these characteristics can help brand managers establish a more effective brand-share strategy in such areas as setting an optimal market share goal, extending a brand, and developing ad copy. Furthermore, our consumer segmentation analysis demonstrates the general market has two distinct segments - (1) a segment composed of HSB buyers(86%) and (2) a segment composed of LSB buyers(14%). The two segments are also shown to have different significant factors that explain their brand choice. Our segmentation analysis can help marketers establish a marketing strategy that targets a specific segment of interest.
Research has shown that authentic experiences at tourist destinations, referred to as destination authenticity, lead to increased revisit intentions and recommendations. However, studies demonstrating the impact of destination authenticity on everyday purchasing behavior are scarce. To address this research gap, based on autobiographical memory and consumer inference theory, this study re-examines the relationship between destination authenticity and purchase behavior toward brands created in tourism destinations encountered in everyday life. This study reveals that brand authenticity mediates destination authenticity's effect on the purchase intention toward destination brands. Furthermore, the effects of destination authenticity on brand authenticity, as well as brand authenticity on purchase intention, are moderated by destination brand self-congruence. The findings of this study contribute to the literature by examining the mechanisms of tourists' purchase behavior, based on autobiographical memory and consumer inference theory. In addition, it sheds light on the boundary conditions under which the impact of destination authenticity on brand authenticity and that of brand authenticity on purchase intention are enhanced.

It is another topic of the study to reveal statistical significance in comsumer's attitude when naming new product with two different brand strategy. The major findings of this study can be summarized as follows. First, there was positive relationship between corporate reputation and consumer's attitude toward new brand and also between corporate credibility and consumer's that. Second, corporate credibility is proven to be grown in proportion to company's reputation. In other words, a corporate credibility is grown with a corporate reputation. Third, the influence of similarity or fitness of business area has a positive effect on a attitude toward new brand. The case of use the new brand name, the variable had low effect on attitude toward new brand, comparing to the case of use the existing brand name but seems to be statistically significant. Fourth, comparing to the inclination toward company's product based on brand name, strategy of supporting brand extension is more effective than that of new brand name on evaluating company's reputation, credibility and the similarity of business area. Fifth, the similarity of business area and the interaction of brand name on the basis of the strategy of use the existing brand name(;brand extension strategy) and new one have significant effect on the inclination to a brand. When participating a new business, it is more effective that a company is extending its business where the similarity of business area is growing. For the case of low similarity, the brand-new strategy is proven to be effective.

This study aims to examine the impacts of service quality (SQ) on consumer-brand relationship quality (BRQ), the mediation effects of brand trust (BT) in those relationships and the moderated mediation effects of BT by the level of perceived product quality (PQ). A 376 valid sample was obtained from the consumers who have visited the service centers of automotive brands. The findings demonstrate the direct effects of SQ of the service centers in automotive brands on BRQ are not significant, while the mediation effects of BT between SQ and BRQ are significant. Moreover, the findings reveal that the mediation effects of BT in the lower perception group of PQ are stronger than those in the higher group. Based on these findings, not only the necessary roles of a service center to improve BRQ but also the transferring process from service centers' SQ to building a strong brand are discussed.
Purpose: The study's objective was to examine the impact of brand personality dimensions on consumer behavior for laptop purchases in Nepal. Research Materials and Methods: The study included descriptive and explanatory research designs. A structured questionnaire with a purposive sampling method was employed to gather the necessary information for the study. The survey data were analyzed using a quantitative approach. The study used descriptive statistics to characterize the response conditions. Correlation analysis was used to investigate the relationship between brand personality dimensions and consumer behavior. Regression path analysis was employed to identify the effect of brand personality dimensions and consumer behavior. Results: The result of regression path analysis showed that the three dimensions - competency, ruggedness, and sophistication, have a significant effect on consumer behavior, and the two dimensions- sincerity and excitement do not have a substantial impact on consumer behavior in laptop buying in Nepal. Conclusions and Implications: Such findings can serve as pioneering empirical evidence and provide a framework for marketers and future studies in various scenarios. The study's findings can help marketing managers in handling information management. Manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers can also use the results in formulating marketing strategies, and marketers need to be aware of such considerations for influencing consumer behavior.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify factors that affect decision-making for e-commerce users and to present ecommerce companies with the company's strategic directions for consumer purchases. Research design, data, and methodology: In this study, a structured research model was derived to confirm the relationship between brand image, product liking, heuristic and purchase intention and the difference according to psychological power. For analysis a total of 212 valid questionnaires from e-commerce users were used. confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equations were conducted to verify. Results: Both brand image and product liking had a significant effect on purchase intention as well as heuristics. However, heuristics did not affect the purchase intention. It was found that the relationship between brand image, product liking, heuristic, and purchase intention differed depending on the psychological power. Conclusions: Companies should seek ways to increase the positive brand image and likability of products so that consumers can quickly purchase products. In the relationship between brand image and heuristic, the low-psychological group has more influence on heuristic, and in case of product liking, the high-psychological group has more influence on heuristic. In the relationship between brand image and product liking for purchase intention, both in the high psychological power group affect more influence on purchase intention. Since the process of purchasing products varies depending on the consumer psychological power tendency, it is necessary to identify the characteristics of consumers and establish strategies for purchasing promotion measures.

Recently, rice producers and related institutions have started to brand rice to increase sale. Despite such trend and the significance of rice branding to many parties including policy makers, no previous research has studied the relationship between consumers' psychological and socio-economic factors that underline consumer choice and judgment of branded rice. This paper discusses the variables related to branding through a survey based on 242 convenience consumer samples selected in Seoul metropolitan area in Korea, and presents the results and their implication for future research. The major findings are: 1) Consumers are reasonably well aware of rice-branding practices, and the main source of such information is in-store displays and packages, 2) It appears that consumers in general choose a rice brand based mainly on its taste and nutrition, and 3) the perceived difference among rice brands differs depending on some consumer characteristics. The perceived differences among rice brands in taste and in nutrition are relatively high for brand-loyal consumers and high-income consumers respectively. The perceived difference among rice brands in brand reputation is also relatively high for young, low-income, and brand-loyal consumers.

This study examined the relationship between country-of-brand-origin perception and brand equity elements among Korean and Chinese male consumers. It also examined if there were differences between the two national consumers in the effect of country-of-brand-origin on brand evaluation. We analyzed survey responses from 414 Korean men and 393 Chinese men in their 20s-30s. Country-of-brand-origin perception was found positively related to brand awareness and brand image for both Korean and Chinese men in each group that selected domestic or foreign country-of-brand-origin. The results revealed a positive relationship between brand attitude and brand awareness as well as brand image for the two national consumers in each country-of-brand-origin selection group. The results indicated differences in the influence of brand image on brand attitude between these two male consumers in the group that selected the domestic country-of-brand-origin. The results also support the hypothesis on differences in the effect of country-of-brand-origin as well as brand evaluation between male consumers in the group that selected foreign country-of-brand-origin. This study has significant implications for fashion marketers, particularly when building brand equity by revealing country-of-brand-origin.
Purpose - As socially responsible consumption increases, green marketing emerges as a new philosophy in marketing. A number of companies are now putting forth green marketing strategies. But there is no single definition of "green brand" that can be used interchangeably. In this paper, we attempt to explore the meaning for "green brand," especially in Information and Technology products. Research design, data, and methodology - The author developed qualitative and quantitative research design. In particular, the paper approaches this topic from the Asian consumers' perspective and applies ethical concepts to green brand research. For this, Chinese and Korean consumers were used as consumer segmentation variables to investigate their ethical perspectives. Results - Qualitative research showed that there are several attributes and benefits we need to consider for green brand. Quantitative study showed positive correlations of the two variables: the higher the consumer ethics are, the more they prefer green brands. Conclusions - The current study shows that consumers clearly have a certain propensity toward green brand equity. Thus, marketers should consider the consumers' evaluation about green brands. This paper also proposes that ethics have a close relationship with green brand equity, and companies may use ethics in marketing strategy management.
