Cosmetics brands are increasingly offering "multi-purpose" products that serve multiple functions at once, such as an eye cream that could also be used as a lip moisturizer. Yet, there is little research on consumers' perceptions of multi-purpose products and the brands that offer these products. This research examines the impact of consumers' own theory of beauty. We find that endorsing a strong incremental (vs. entity) theory of beauty (i.e., believing that one's beauty is changeable through one's effort rather than innate and unchangeable) reduces consumers' preferences for multi-purpose products, particularly among those who are highly appearance oriented. These consumers' reduced evaluation of multi-purpose products also spills over to their overall brand evaluation. The findings suggest that brand managers should consider consumers' implicit theory of beauty and product preferences when managing product knowledge.
This study investigated adolescents' shopping orientation and price perception according to socio statistics and their experience of internet shopping mall. We distributed the questionnaire to 411 high school students in near Seoul. In the order of high shopping orientation, they showed 'compare products', 'enjoy as leisure', 'shop loyalty', 'discount shopping', and 'brand shopping' orientation. In the order of high price perception, they showed 'economic', 'value', 'brand-quality', and 'price knowledge'. The higher in 'shop loyalty', 'enjoy as leisure' in the shopping orientation, the higher in the price concept of 'price knowledge'. Adolescents who have experience to shopping through internet shopping mall, have the higher enjoy as leisure, shop loyalty, compare products' in shopping orientation, and the higher 'economic, price knowledge' in price perception than those who have not. Socio-statistics parameters are found to affect adolescents' shopping orientation and price perception. Adolescents had average scores in 'shop loyalty', while they had high scores in 'compare products'. Thus, in order to have superior position in adolescent's market, detailed product specification and information are necessary to enhance their shop loyalty. Adolescents thought the price was economical, and they had less concept in 'price knowledge' due to their position. Unlike adults, adolescent's gender does not have effects on their 'economic concept. Male students also had high scores in 'economic concept' as much as female students did.
Purpose: During COVID-19, consumers prefer social distancing or contactless activities for safety, and hygienic condition has become one of the most important factors in evaluating restaurants. Therefore, this study aims to investigate whether offline/online word-of-mouth is affected by restaurant quality. Research design, data and methodology: The data were collected from 480 consumers who had experiences of visiting a restaurant in the past 90 days and analyzed with SPSS 28.0 and SmartPLS 4.0 programs. Results: Physical environment and menu had positively significant effects on brand love, while employee service and hygiene had no significance on brand love. Restaurant environment, menu, and hygiene had negatively significant effects on brand hate, but employee service had not significant impact on brand hate. Brand love had positively significant effects on offline and online word-of-mouth, and brand hate had negatively significant effects on offline and online word-of-mouth. Conclusions: First, restaurants need to develop a pleasant space where customers can have emotional experiences. Second, restaurants need to fulfill customers' desire for global food consumption. Third, restaurants should ensure hygiene and safety to prevent customers' brand hate. Lastly, restaurants need to establish offline/online word-of-mouth strategy to identify which restaurant quality attributes influence brand love/hate and offline/online word-of-mouth.

This study provides a new perspective on the effect of social media marketing activities (SMMA) on purchase intention in Korean cosmetic firms. The increasing use of social media has changed how firms engage their brand with consumers. This phenomenon triggered a need for this research to examine further the influence of SMMA on social brand engagement (SBE), brand equity (BE), and purchase intention (PI). The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of SMMA on purchase intention in Korean cosmetic firms with brand equity and social brand engagement. The factors of SMMA were identified based on previous literature reviews that have an impact on social media marketing activity. To empirically test the effects of SMMA, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on 219 social media users for data analysis out of the initial 332 survey data. The results reveal that all five SMMA elements are positively related to BE, SBE, and PI. The study enables cosmetic brands to forecast the future purchasing behavior of their customers more accurately and brings clarity to manage their assets and marketing activities as well.

Recently, Open Course Ware service area which offers free lecture materials has been steadily growing. This change comes from a paradigm shift of education service caused by the progress of ICT and a role change of consumers. Knowledge creation from higher educational institutions is slow compared to change of society. Therefore, consumers escape from one-sided education, and perform a new role of knowledge generation. Nevertheless, there is not much of academic research of Open Course Ware. Consequently, the paper is dedicated to empirical study on effect of perceived value, information system quality and brand trust on intention to continuous use. As implications for the research, as a practical point of view, the results-an economic side that offers contents for free of charge, a contents side that is fresh, various and substantial, a systematic side that makes customers to use the system easily, a service side which takes charge of customers support and brand trust affect satisfaction and intention to continuous use - can be used for establishment of executive strategies.
Brand is the major enduring asset of a company and more valuable than the totality of specific products and facilities. Thus brands are powerful assets that must be carefully developed and managed. The company should design and implement marketing activities and marketing communication programs to build and grow the brand value. Strarbucks, Samsung Galaxy, and Nike brands get a price premium and generate strong customer loyalty. A power brand has high brand equity, which is the differential effect that brand knowledge has on consumer response to the marketing of that brand. Brand equity is created when brands have strong, favorable and unique brand associations with customers and high level of brand awareness. Therefore marketers in building a strong brand should ensure to develop the right type of customer experiences with products and effective integrated marketing communication(IMC) programs to create the brand equity. Since 2007 Sinhan card acquiring the LG card has developed the new brand identity and carefully managed the advertising campaign and other marketing communication mix tools to create the high brand awareness and differential brand image. In this case study we examine how Sinhan card with the goal of being No.1 brand in the credit card market has developed and implemented the IMC Strategy to build a high level of consumer brand awareness, unique brand image and strong customer relationship.
