We've already living our lives in the 21s1 century. This century, even alone, means enormous changes and innovations. Namely, we have been encountering various forms of generation changes such as digital generation, globalization generation, consumer generation, and brand power generation. Among these, there have been extraordinary changes in consumers and the environment of consumer market, and it is noteworthy of paying attention to the transition of the leader of the consumer market from producers to consumers. Such changes will affect not only all fields related to market environment but also entire fields including future products and sales. Hereupon, it is intended to foresee and analyze the trend in the consumer market of the 21st century and investigate changes in the consumer market and the environment of consumers. Also, the world has brought a single space of economy along with globalization and the era of self-imposed competition, and multi-national enterprises have emerged and, at the same time, their brands can be seen around the world. Hence, they have been trying to maintain their own power brands for the century. In the past, brand meant the name of a product in general. But, in the present, it has another meaning such that the brand itself provides psychological satisfaction and trustworthiness. Hereupon, this study intends to foresee changes in the trend of the consumer market of the 21s1 century, to ,outlook the trend of the consumer market along with study of power brand strategies, and to pursue creative strategies for power brand.
The topic on Flow is generating increased interests in e-commerce studies. Flow has been identified as a key component in e-commerce. Studies on Flow have so far focused on internet shopping mall, but scarcely looked at the Flow of Internet auction. The purpose of study is to find out which factors play a major role in building Flow on internet auction and how the built-up Flow affect Brand Equity. Therefore, the research model investigates what factors influence Flow. Furthermore, the research is designed to understand how the Flow influences Brand Equity. The antecedents of Flow classifies into three types such as personal (Challenge, Skill), IT characteristic, Internet Auction characteristic. The results of this empirical study shows that three characteristics significantly affected the flow:personal (Challenge), IT (information quality, system quality), and Internet Auction (interactivity). And also Flow has significant effect on the brand equity. This result indicates that customer's optimal experience is important to increase brand equity. That is, the flow is influenced by multi-dimensional factors and plays an important role in increasing brand equity. Finally, the finding of this study suggests that personal challenge, information quality, system quality, and interactivity should be enhanced preferentially.
In addition to awareness building, TV media creates search behavior for the brand and the search result may link to a brand homepage and/or an e-commerce site. This study analyzed the impact of TV advertisements on a search volume at NAVER, a leading Korean search platform, in order to verify the impact of TV advertisements on brand-related search behavior. Results are as follows. TV advertisement exposure was significantly related to the amount of Korean search, English search, and total search. In addition, changes in TV advertising exposure also had a significant static influence on changes in search volume. The increase in the number of brand search was different by industries that carried out TV advertisements, and it was verified that the frequency of English searches increased faster than the frequency of Korean search as the exposure of TV advertisements increased. Therefore, domestic TV advertising volume has been verified to affect NAVER search volume, and the advertising industry and brand search language that conducted TV advertisements have been verified to be moderating variables. TV advertisements can be interpreted to cause brand search behavior in English even though it is not a native language for Koreans.
In recent years, online brand communities, whereby firms and customers interact freely, are emerging trend, because customers' opinions collected in these communities can help firms to achieve their innovation effectively. In this study, we examined whether customer opinions containing negative emotions have influence on their adoption for organizational innovation. To that end, we firstly classified negative emotions into five categories of detailed negative emotions such as Fear, Anger, Shame, Sadness, and Frustration. Then, we developed a lexicon for each category of negative emotions, using WordNet and SentiWordNet. From 81,543 customer opinions collected from MyStarbucksIdea.com which is Starbucks' brand community, we extracted terms that belong to each lexicon. We conducted an experiment to examine whether the existence, frequency and strength of terms with negative emotions in each category affect the adoption of customer opinions for organizational innovation. In the experiment, we statistically verified that there is a positive relationship between customer ideas containing negative emotions and their adoption for innovation. Especially, Frustration and Sadness out of the five emotions are significantly influential to organizational innovation.
Purpose - This study investigates the purchase pattern relating to soybean products in Korea. Specifically, the effect of branding based on a regional name was analyzed in terms of consumer purchase frequencies. The primary purpose of this study is to understand why family characteristics affect product selection for a regional brand in the soybean food category. Research design, data, and methodology - We used data collected by the Rural Development Administration (RDA) of Korea. The RDA has monitored agricultural food consumers for years in order to obtain purchase records. Panel participants live in regions near the capital city of Seoul, Korea. Examining data from January 2010 to May 2016, 667 families were selected for analysis. The final data set was 1,335,402. Each purchase item by each individual family was aggregated to a countable weekly observation. To analyze the data set quantitatively, zero-inflation regression was adopted, which was appropriate to avoid biases from overly dispersed observations. Results - We hypothesized the effects of regional branding from the viewpoint of the family characteristics. The first hypothesis was that the number of children would be positively associated with the purchase of a regional brand of soybean products. The result strongly supported this hypothesis. The second hypothesis was that the number of family members would be negatively associated with the purchase of the soybean products of a regional brand. Based on empirical analysis, we concluded that this hypothesis was partially supported. The third hypothesis was the presence of an interaction effect between the number of children and the family size, which was supported by the results. As a supplementary analysis, we also tested mean-variance differences in terms of categories and regional branding with corporate branding. Conclusion - The results of this study provide insights for regional branding strategies in agricultural food management. This study appears to be one of the seminal studies trying to analyze purchase patterns from longitudinal observations. In addition, this study adopted variables characterizing family lifestyle. This study confirmed that children and family size should be considered when soybean product brands are introduced.

This study empirically confirmed how an art infusion into fashion products affect consumer's preference through Study 1 and Study 2. Study 1 examined the effect of an art infusion and the difference of an art infusion effect according to self-monitoring scale by designing groups composed of 2 (art infusion: infusion versus non-infusion) ${\times}2$ (self-monitoring: high versus low). Study 2 examined the difference of an art infusion effect according to the luxury level of fashion brands by designing groups composed of 2 (art infusion: infused versus non-infused) ${\times}2$ (fashion brand luxury levels: high versus mid versus low). This study was conducted using a convenience sample of women in their 20s and 30s residing in the Seoul and Daegu region. In Study 1, 162 participants were randomly assigned to two experiment situations of art infusion. In Study 2, 192 participants were randomly assigned to six experiment situations of art infusion and luxury level of fashion brands. For the data analysis, we conducted reliability analysis, two-way ANOVA and simple main effect analysis using SPSS 18.0 statistics package. The results of Study 1 and 2 are as follows. First, consumer's preference was shown to be higher for fashion products with art infusion rather than fashion products without art infusion. Second, the positive effect of art infusion on consumer's preference was significant in the group of high selfmonitors. But there was a non-significant effect of art infusion in the group of low self-monitors. Lastly, the positive effect of art infusion on consumer's preference is higher in the case of a mid-level luxury brand rather than in the case of a high-level luxury brand and low-level luxury brand.
The purpose of this study was to define the purchase behavior of online luxury fashion brand consumers that soon became new luxury consumption trends. To investigate online luxury fashion brand consumer's purchase behavior, three variables were suggested based on advanced researches. These variables include economic value, item variety and pleasure. Purchasing luxury online was not common but as cross-border online shopping market became popular, consumers began to purchase luxury items through online shopping platforms. Preliminary surveys was conducted on 20~40-year-old consumers who have experience in online shopping for luxurious items. Total 238 questionnaires were used for analysis. By using SPSS, frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, t-test and ANOVA were conducted. The results of the study were as follow; first, consumer's purchase behavior appeared to be influenced by the order of pleasure of shopping, economic value and item variety. Repurchase intention appeared to be affected by the order of economic value, item variety, and pleasure of shopping. Second, online luxury fashion consumers perceived that risk does not affect purchase intention and repurchase intention. Third, as purchase intention increases, repurchase intention also increases. Fourth, shopping value, age and channel risk also indicated meaningful differences. As an early study of luxury fashion brand products purchased directly online, the academic significance can facilitate an overall understanding of consumer behavior such as usage motive, risk perception, behavioral intention.
Recently, the travel and lodging industries have been suffering from the spread of COVID-19. But Airbnb recovered its profits with a differentiated strategy. This study identified the characteristics of Airbnb and examined their effects on customer's revisit intention in the Airbnb context. Perceived value, trust about Airbnb, and social norms were considered as the key factors of revisit intention. In addition, the effects of relative attractiveness, brand identification, and enjoyment on perceived value and trust about Airbnb were examined. The proposed research model was tested based on 285 consumers who had Airbnb experience more than twice. The analysis results showed that relative attractiveness, brand identification, and enjoyment had a significant influence on perceived value and trust. Perceived value had a significant influence on revisit intention. However, trust about Airbnb and social norms did not significantly affect revisit intention. Moreover, ths analysis results found no significant moderating effect of share of wallet. Based on the results of this study, Airbnb would establish effective marketing and operation strategies by understanding the formation mechanism of consumer's revisit intention toward Airbnb.
This study investigates consumer experiences and word-of-mouth (WOM) intentions in luxury brand pop-up stores, including standalone and department store setups. Grounded in experience economy theory, this study examines the experiential elements based on the types of pop-up stores and the relationships among consumer experience, pop-up store image, and WOM intentions for each type. Data were collected from 300 visitors to luxury brand pop-up stores between January and July 2023 and analyzed using Smart PLS 4.0. The findings reveal several key insights. First, standalone pop-up stores offer educational and escapist experiences, while pop-ups within department stores have a single identified factor of consumer experience. Second, regardless of the store type, luxury pop-up store experiences significantly influence pop-up image perceptions. Third, luxury pop-up store image drives WOM intentions for both standalone and department store pop-ups. Notably, the unique image significantly impacts solely department store pop-ups and does not influence standalone pop-ups. Moreover, image perceptions in both pop-up store types do not significantly affect brand WOM intentions. Finally, WOM intentions for pop-up stores significantly influence WOM intentions for brands. This study contributes to the theoretical understanding of consumer experiences in luxury pop-up stores, providing practical insights for stakeholders in the luxury brand industry to enhance pop-up store image perceptions and WOM intentions.
In order to find how the recovery justice from the service procedure and result failure affects the quality of customer-brand relationship, we conducted this study following pre research, its correction and supplement of the customers who experienced some service failures in food restaurant. We selected the best five brands in Korean food franchise in the rank of the sales on basis of data of Korean Food Restaurant Information in year 2009. The participants of this research were the people who live in Seoul metropolitan area and ever experienced any service failure within recent 6 months. Of the 500 copies of survey questionnaires distributed, 391 were used for the analysis. The method used for this analysis was the SPSS for WIN 12.0 program and the analysis such as technical statistics analysis, reliability analysis, research element analysis and regression analysis were applied. As a result, the service shortage factor which is one of the service process failures was confirmed to affect procedural justice and distributive justice. It has been confirmed that procedural justice and distributive justice are influenced by the hygiene deficiency which is one of the result failures. It was also found that the product factor affects distribution justice. As for the effect of the quality of recovery justice and a customer-brand relationship, procedural justice and distributive justice were found to affect the mutual dependency while procedural justice affects a familiarity.
