Positioning idle vehicles of AGVS on unidirectional guide paths (단방향 유도경로AGVS상의 유휴차량 대기위치 결정)

  • It is discussed how to locate idle vehicles of AGVS on unidirectional guide paths. The problem is modeled as a median location problem on a cyclic network. The characteristics of the optimal location are analyzed and some useful properties are suggested to reduce the solution space. Based on the properties found, several special types of networks - a pure single-loop type, the loop type with a single branching intersection and the loop type with local branching node - are also analyzed as well as the general cyclic network. In each case of the networks, a solution procedure is suggested. Some numerical examples are provided to illustrate the algorithms developed.

Fatigue Crack Growth Retardation after Single Overload Cycle in High Strengh Aluminium Weldments (고강도 알루미늄 합금 용접부에 있어서의 피로균열전파에 미치는 과하중 효과)

  • Retardation or delay in fatigue crack growth due to overloads are important for the accurate prediction of fatigue lives of structural materials. In this study, retardation of fatigue crack growth in Al 6061-T6 weldments and heat affected zones (HAZ) after single overload cycle had been investigated. Retardation in both weldments and HAZ was observed. It was concluded that retardation in both weldment and HAZ was greater than in base metal due to microstructural change and crack branching and crack closure were major governing factor in retardation.

Synthesis and Liquid Crystalline Properties of Hyperbranched Aromatic Polyesters Consisting of Azoxybenzene Mesogens and Polymethylene Spacers

  • A new series of hyperbranched aromatic polyesters containing azoxybenzene mesogens and polymethylene spacers were prepared by polymerizing AB2 type monomers that have the isophthaloyl dicarboxylic acid terminal at one end and the p-oxyp henol terminal at the other end. The monomers contain a built-in azoxybenzene mesogen that is linked to the terminal groups through polymethylene spacers. The polyesters prepared were characterized by solution viscosity, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffractometry and polarizing microscopy. All of the polyesters were found to be thermotropic (nematic). Their glass-transition temperatures and mesophase temperature ranges were very sensitive to the length of the two spacers existing in the repeating unit. The degree of branching of one of the polyesters was determined by the NMR spectroscopy and found to be 0.56.

3D Surface Approximation to Serial 2D Cross Sections (단면정보로부터 3차원 근사곡면의 생성)

  • This paper describes a hybrid surface-based method for smooth 3D surface approximation to a sequence of 2D cross sections. The resulting surface is a hybrid G $^{1}$ surface represented by a mesh of triangular and rectangular Bezier patches defined on skinning, branching, or capping regions. Each skinning region is approximated with a closed B_spline surface, which is transformed into a mesh of Bezier patches. Triangular G $^{1}$ surfaces are constructed over brabching and capping regions such that the transitions between each capping regions such that the transitions between each triangular surface and its neighboring skinning surfaces are G $^{1}$ continuous. Since each skinning region is represented by an approximated rectangular C $^{2}$ suface instead of an interpolated trctangular G $^{[-1000]}$ surface, the proposed method can provide more smooth surfaces and realize more efficient data reduction than triangular surfacebased method.
